Tytania 04-05: The Liberation of Tyrandia is Imminent

(Kicks Tyrandian Major General down a well…)

So yeah this post is a bit late mostly because I had midterms last week, but this time I got caught up in fairly short order. Episode 4 was not terribly interesting for me but episode 5 had me firing on all cylinders.

I like how the Tytanian grunts realize that Lira was harboring a fugitive and while the floor board thing was clichéd it was the third floor so I suppose the grunts could be forgiven if the underestimated the depth of dead space between the third and second floors. I sure as hell would have missed it given how most homes are constructed. In any case Tytanian forces aren’t stupid and quickly pointed out how cheap Lira looked in her economy clothes… I agree the conservation of textiles on her out fit was without a doubt an aggressive means to keep it within Lira’s price range. Oddly enough the high point of Episode 4 for me was watching Salisch getting pwned by his mum while he and Alses were having a fight. As the Duke who prides himself on martial prowess it was funny to see him so humbled by his mum, I don’t think Ajman is going to consider Brownie to be a worthy successor. Idris is more than delighted that Salisch has failed though the credit all belongs to Alses who is none too happy with being exiled.

Tytania 02: The Greatest Party That Never Was…

null

Oh if only Euria treated its heroes this way…

While there was much more talking in this episode I am willing to tolerate the slower pace since they seem to be laying down some ground work for future conflicts. It turns out that Fan Hulic’s victory was unexpected as Euria had put Fan Hulic in command to be the face of their defeat. While Tytania and Euria has not worked out a deal prior to it seems that the current regime on Euria had only assented to battle as a means to save face. They were not going to win, but at the same time surrendering without having fired a shot would have been politically unthinkable. Even amongst the four dukes it seems that competition between them is about to heat up big time now that it seems that Ariabart slipped up, right now it seems of the four that Juslan seems to be the favored candidate, mostly because he doesn’t fall on any given extreme.

Tytania - 01: Rich and Nerdy

Because even a plea of innocence is guilty of wasting his time.

So Tytania is finally subbed and it seems it was worth the wait. While there are some passing similarities to LOGH, I think that it was different enough in some respects. While the females will be horrifically out numbered by the guys I don’t think were going to have as large as cast as LOGH given how I doubt it will be 110 episodes long, so I highly doubt they will give us 30 plus Admirals. That said I still have no idea how long this is going to run for but hopefully it will be enough to get through the novels that have been published so far. That being said there was some QUALITY animation with the distance shots, and it’s a very niche kind of series that will lack the mass appeal to grab that godly budget, but nevertheless I like the tactical aspect and perhaps a bit of the strategic aspect that they have shown so far. So if you are the kind of War College junkie/aspirant like me Tytania is well worth looking into. Combat is much slower with ships only having a forward arc and engagements taking place over hundreds of kilometers.
