I was not intending to blog on the special arc in the four weeks that summarizes everything leading up to Saiunkoku Monogatari second season. However, this episode had many of the scenes that I enjoyed about Saiunkoku Monogatari and it will be bad of me to not post something to pay some tribute to it. It will also act as a build up to the coming series too.

This episode starts off with Ryuuki’s plan to legitimize the entrance of women into the imperial exams of Saiunkoku up to the stage where Shuurei finally finished the exam at the third top position.

Seeing Reishin and Kijin squabbling all the time just makes my day. It has been a while since I last saw the two of them and I realize how much I miss the two of them due to their greatly differing characters. Reishin’s amusing blush at Shuurei is always the best thing to happen for a good laugh.

The episode title for this week, 天

Why is Shuurei so cute when she is young? No wonder Reishin is blushing like he did when Teh Yuushun, Kou Kijin and him were spying on Shuurei.

She is way too cute for a child. 世间本无事 is the title of this episode as it means that the world is peaceful once again, like the start of any era. Just to warn you, an amazing plot resolution is in hand for this episode. I am wowed simply by the excellence of this series.

相逢是离别的开始, the title of this episode, talked about how meeting was the start of seperation. How apt this episode title is for Sakujun and Shuurei.

I totally adore Shunki x Kokujun. They are just one of the most “awwwww” type of couples, with the sweetenings in the whole relationship being six to seven over dosages of total sugarly love.

The phrase of this week’s episode,以毒攻毒, means to counter poison with poison and it applies to the scenario in the last scene of this episode.

Seiran fans will love it, I bet.
