Ghost Hunt: Some of the puzzle pieces not shown in the anime
Note: I have invited LKK to blog on some of the manga spoilers and plots that have not been included in the anime. I also added a few images from previous episodes to give a visual summary of the anime. Cheers!

Naru, Mai, Masako, dream!Naru … the Ghost Hunt anime ended without answering some major questions, didn’t it? It’s possible that Ghost Hunt may get a second season to explain the answers. It’s possible that Ghost Hunt may get an OVA release to explain the answers. However, nothing’s been announced yet. Impz has invited me to share some of what I know about the puzzle pieces left out of the jigsaw puzzle that is known as Ghost Hunt.
My information is based on the Ghost Hunt novels. I have not read the novels. I have collected this information from people scattered across the Internet who have read the novels. I confess that I no longer know from whom I got what information. I know that I owe a large debt of gratitude to the members of the LiveJournal community shibuya_pr and especially to Shadow Dreams who generously answered many of my questions. I do not guarantee that this information is 100% correct. I have tried my best though. All mistakes are my own. I apologize for them.
If you hope that Ghost Hunt will have a second season to answer the outstanding questions and do not wish to be spoiled, do not read this. If you hope that Ghost Hunt will receive the OVA treatment to answer the outstanding questions and do not wish to be spoiled, do not read this. If you hope that someday the manga will answer the outstanding questions and do not wish to be spoiled, do not read this.

Naru suddenly went into Super Saiyan’s mode and started to build his powers. He then summons the great ball of fire from within, getting the power of the people as they raised their hands to give him the essence of life. Does this ring a bell?
Don’t even talk about Dragonball when you are watching Ghost Hunt with your wifey.
Note: Due to tons of detail, this summary post can be pretty long.

Ok, Ayako finally did something useful, even though it is a tad futile in this situation. Still, you have to admit that she actually looks real and powerful in this screenshot. This episode carries over from the previous episode where Nanao was slowly covered by a dark shadow as the mystery of the possessions continued without a single clue.
Why is Ayako fighting and what is she fighting?

I admit, this episode is a completely Mai-powered episode. The screenshot above just makes it hard for any supporter to rationally say that she’s not cute. Sigh, if she continues on those two bun hair style, even a strong Masako fan like me will have to support the both of them.
Is my heart wavering? I fear it to be so.

Ok, this is definitely a Mai x Naru moment. I knew the directors are jealous of Masako and refuse to let her in for any part of this last arc. Why? Why? I want my Masako like now, now and now.
This arc is the file of the haunted house, and even though the build up is not as scary as the previous arc, it does open up to some really disturbing scenes. I am going to probably start panicking in the later stages of this arc and refuse to blog on it until my fear has subsided.
Note: I made use of honeysempai’s proposed names that are probably close to the actual names. Thanks to her!

What did Madoka tell Mai in the end that causes her to blush so badly?
I like to mislead people. For most of this episode, the mood is hardly jovial. It is just bloody and I mean it in a very literal term. Bloody.

A bit of face distortion and I can label Ghost Hunt as the third season of Higurashi, after Manabi Straight.
As expected, Mai is not dead as yet. We also realize a very important clue to who Naru actually is and his purpose to come to Japan. Lin’s purpose with Naru is also addressed (well, hinted) too. There are tons of surprises in this episode and that itself is a major understatement!
