“We once loved when we were 15. Even though that time seemed to be so faraway now, we used to exist in that time. Then, we were there. We spent our time together. Do you still remember?”

It ended, just as it was at the start. Did you enjoy the journey of Nana, Yano, Takeuchi and Yuri?

I know I did. Let me bring you through the last journey of “We were there”. They were there. For sure.

Episode overview 25-26 in bite-size

Nana realized that Yano did have intentions to move to Tokyo. She then said that he could do anything he wanted, and she would be happy with it. However, she realized eventually that it was not what she wanted and she found that one year of waiting was way too long. Yano was in fact waiting for her to regret the decision and asked her if she was regretting anything, but she still told him that it was all right. As Yano told her to meet up one night, he said he had thought of the Christmas celebration but it was pushed forward a week on December 18th. He was going to join his mother to Tokyo.

Yano actually wanted to bring her to a hot spring and the zoo for their last meeting, but Nana did not want Yano to spend so much considering that his family finanical status was not that good in the first place. Nana then said she did not want anything too special, because she did not want to feel that he was going away. Still, she dressed up very well and cutely, as they spent their time doing the things they usually do, with flashbacks appearing. It seemed that Yano had kept the neo-prints that they took during their first time there, and it was clear that the decision made by Yano to leave Tokyo was an extremely painful one for him. As the day finally arrived, Nana was in tears as Yano simply told her that when negative feelings and positive feelings conflict with each other, it is not zero but positive. That was what Nana brought for her, as he left, leaving Nana chasing for the train…The story ends but they were there.

Resolution, thoughts and review

That is the premise of Bokura Ga Ita, of two people who used to be in love at the age of 15, with the delicate relationship of two young people who simply wished to be with each other, yet with their very own insecurities, confusion and pains of growing up. This depicts well of the romance of the teenagers, their relationships with their friends as well as the many questions that

It is perhaps a very bittersweet ending to this wonderful shoujo series that I consider to be the top shoujo series of 2006. I remember at the start of the series, I totally hated Yano for all his silly antics with Nanashi, only to see his journey as he escaped from the cage that he jailed himself in and finally releasing himself from the pain that he had. He became more and more likable in my opinion, and that was when my impression of Nana went totally downhill.

Prone to crying, insecurity and her jealousy of someone who was already dead made me annoyed at her, as well as the fact that she was definitely not ready for a relationship after the incident with Yuri in the hospital. Still, Nana ends the situation well, even though I wish she was a bit stronger mentally. However, that might also take away some of the charm of the show, because it capitalizes on the flaws of the characters. These characters are not perfect beings. They are like us, weak and making stupid mistakes even though they know jolly well they should not do it. That is why we get angry, we get sad, we get happy and we get annoyed with what they do.

The ending to me really symbolized the whole feeling of “We were there”. Perhaps, some other viewers wanted a more close-ended resolution but I personally feel that by leaving it this way, it ends the romance at a point where they both know that they have found love somewhat. To make a fake “happy ending” to me will be a tad disappointing since it is clear that the love that they have is strong enough. That, to me, is more important than having a “1 year later” resolution because it will defeat the purpose of the title. However, I can see why Hinano disliked the ending, which probably does seem to scream “Read the manga for the continuation”.

Talking about the graphics of the show, which is really nothing, it is perhaps a nice soft style of art that is very basic, yet fitting to the whole shoujo genre. I know of many people who are turned off by the pretty medicore graphics presented in Bokura Ga Ita, but this is a shoujo series that screams out loud at you with the style of graphical design. In that aspect, I like the series simply because I am a great fan of shoujo-styled art. However, this is a double-edged sword because it will veer some neutrals out of this series. As it is, Bokura Ga Ita will only appeal to shoujo fans, and not the normal anime fan.

The greatest strength of the series is its use of appropriate music sang by the wonderful Mi. Some of the insert songs in this series are just about the best songs that I have heard from an anime series, and I even got a few friends interested in Bokura Ga Ita after sending them some of the EDs. I think it is a great thing to have different EDs for this show, because most of the songs that are inside are really wonderful. Music, in this series, is one of the biggest plus in the series.

The characters, as I have stated earlier, were given enough character development throughout the series and you learn to hate or like them. It is perhaps one of its redeeming points too, even though the story can get a bit too emotional at times that might turn off some people too. The drama, however, is painfully realistic and I think that some of the scenarios are very possible in real life, except about Yano’s history that is seriously screwed up. Still, to add, the realism of the relationship, where the couple quarrels over small incidents is something that I feel is an interesting thing to debate about.

All in all, I think Bokura Ga Ita is an excellent addition to the shoujo anime genre. With that, I toast this wonderful series and I am a little sad that it has to end so fast.

Back to this format of the Impzie Destructive Analysis (aka short summaries + thoughts compared to detailed ones), Impz has been burdened with his project work for a while and hence have no time to blog a full entry on Bokura ga Ita 24 as well as Sumomo momomo episode 11 (truth for this is because Sumomo momomo episode 11 is too sinful to post a parody on it). Just look above to understand why I cannot make a parody out of this. The summaries are brief, especially for Bokura ga Ita, considering that I generally make a full entry for Bokura. However, with the personal activities, it is impossible this week. Full summaries will resume next week for Bokura ga Ita for the viewers who are looking forward to the detailed summaries!

Anyway, this is a no frills summary and thoughts, so time to move!

————————————-

Bokura Ga Ita Episode 24

Summary

It’s clear by then that her mother did not have enough money going to Tokyo but she told Yano not to find any jobs because she wanted him to concentrate on his final year examinations. Yano was with Takeuchi as he tried to hunt for jobs, with Takeuchi looking for a job. Yano also said he would not tell Nana because she would be very hurt when she learnt about the news. Back at Takeuchi’s home, her sister was saying that it was good that Yano left, but Takeuchi did not want to get Nana that way. His mother also said that Yano’s mom was very incapable, but having a child so cool-headed as Yano was a good thing.

At school, everyone discussed about their choices of universities, with Yano assuming that Nana wanted to go to Tokyo university since that was what they had originally planned. However, she changed her mind to go to Sapporo, with Yano pissed very badly. He thought that all she wanted was to be away from him and considering that he was contemplating about leaving Tokyo, Nana’s remarks hurt him a lot. Takeuchi then effectively ended his chances by rushing over to Nana, telling her about Yano’s possibility of going to Tokyo and told her to stop him.

Nana did not want the relationship to end, hence she rushed over to Yano’s place. Eventually, Nana confessed once again that she liked Yano and Yano said that he never had any intentions of leaving her. However, Nana said she would respect whatever decision he made on the Tokyo trip and that she would never abandon him, like anyone else. At the end, they discussed about their prospective universities, only to realize that Nana had difficulties getting to a Tokyo university. Still, she insisted she would do it, without thinking of anything as Yano seemed to change his mind of sorts where he made a backup plan. However, Nana found out that he was intending to go to Sapporo and perhaps….did something to that piece of paper.

Thoughts

Takeuchi, why? Why the hell did you …..do such a thing to kill off your chances? Last episode, I was stating how cool you are, trying to beat your love rival to pieces with your courageous words. Now, you are just what you said you are, a coward that always walk around a circle and never attempts to leave it when you can find happiness out of it. Takeuchi really disappointed me a lot in his actions this episode, even though I am still blindly supporting a Takeuchi x Nana. That said, I do not think Nana will be with anyone at the end of this show, as this show seems to be heading toward a sad ending (considering the preview for episode 25 is about Yano leaving). I just have a feeling I will feel very low after Bokura Episode 26, so I probably will be shaking sadly by the time it ends.

Also, I fully respect Yano. He is finally out of his insecure side and facing the future courageously. From the spoilt and arrogant brat that he was in the earlier episodes, he is finally like a man and I believe that he is good enough for Nana. Actually, Nana is starting to be less desirable with her immense insecurity in relationships. She is not ready for it and sadly, I think she jumped the gun too fast. I cannot believe that I am saying this considering how much I praise her earlier on in the series. Her weaknesses are exposed very plainly for the past three episodes.

I brace myself for an eventful, beautiful and theatrical ending. Bokura ga Ita is really one of the best shoujo series of this year, if not the best.

————————————————-

Sumomo momomo Episode 11

Summary

The crazy fiance came to the school to challenge Koushi-dono as he tried to find a way out of this. Looking at Momoko, he thought that he found an ally, only to realize that the challenger simply wanted to fight him and was not an assassin. Momoko, being totally oblivious that Koushi was completely weak, asked him to fight. Koushi also tried to use his law knowledge to batter his opponent, only for the opponent to be too stupid to understand his laws.

Eventually, Sanae rushed home to wear her costume and saved Koushi at the nick of time. However, everyone was swooning over her….assets and revealing clothes, with her totally embarrassed by the lechering looks of the guys. The fight went on, with Sanae completely beaten up as she realized that she was not strong enough. Eventually, she remembered that her power improved with the amount of clothing she shed, as her limit to power was her embarrassment.

With that, she started to strip even with the embarrassment, with her power increasing as all the guys had a major explosion from the ….revealing of the hot body. For the sake of Koushi, she was almost naked as she did the ultimate Horse clan kick. She then won over the beefy man and was glad that the whole event was over. The next day, we see Iroha and her baka brother selling the pictures of her, with her turning white and fainting immediately.

Thoughts

This is heaven for all who loves fanservice. There is so much blatant fanservice in this episode that it is almost sinful. I am almost contemplating to do an evil parody about Sanae being the “prawn star” but decided that this would be too dangerous like real porn. Hence, I have simply done this in a I.D analysis fashion to hide it since I do want to blog and say…SANAE’S BODY IS HOT HOT HOT!

She has to wear that costume more. Period.

Anyway, that’s it!

I cannot believe how a few episodes can change my perspective of a character. However, Bokura ga ita did. I remember calling Yuri a sickening and bloody biatch (yes, very bad language used there) but now, I simply pity her. Yano did too, which was why he stayed together with her after ex-Nana died.

This episode continues with the emotional trauma of the four main characters and this is magnificent. Absolute shoujo greatness for the past few episodes. I loved it!

Move on for summary and thoughts.

—————————-

Episode summary

Yano and Takeuchi were about to go for skating, until Takeuchi revealed that he had confessed to Nana during that period when Yano was sick. Yano called him very despicable and it was clear that he was very annoyed about it as they left the skating ring before even skating. As Takeuchi went back, his sister wondered what happened as he arrived back so soon and laughed when Takeuchi told her about the confession. It seemed that his “sister” realized that Takeuchi had such confidence because he had never competed unless he had a sure chance of winning. That was also why Yano was particularly disturbed by the confession.

On the flashback, we see Takeuchi saying that he liked Nana a lot and told Nana not to give an answer because he would not tell no as an answer. That confidence was that Takeuchi was able to keep Nana happy and protect her. On the other hand, Nana was in her room, thinking about what Takeuchi had said. She also called Mizu-chin, asking if she was in fact suitable for Yano at all. With what Takeuchi and Yuri said about her being incompatible affecting her judgment, she seemed to lose all confidence. In school, as everyone was doing snow shoveling, she also avoided him despite the attempts from him to talk.

As she ran off, Yano gave chase and asked her what she really wanted. She then said the relationship is tiring her out and asked whether if there was someone out there that was better. Yano stupidly replied “so what if there was someone”, smashing whatever little confidence she had as she remembered what Yuri said about her being a person that could understand Yano better than Nana. She then cried and left, leaving Yano in total shock.

We see Yano and his mother doing some gardening, as they talked about the apparent moving to Tokyo. Yano’s mother had never planned for anything in her life and was very fickle and weak minded about issues. She felt that he was always very tied up, like he was stressing out, but he pushed the issue away. She then added that Yano was an accident but she could not bear to abort him.

She often despised him before he was born, as he was a burden if she was to get married. As she did not know what to do, she jumped from marriage to marriage blindly, without thinking. Now, she finally woke up and wanted to find happiness by using her own feet to move her life path. However, she added that the one thing in her life that she was proud of was that the burden turned out to be the greatest blessing in her life. That was why she wanted him to be happy.

Back in school, Yano asked Nana to go home together, also for Nana to reject it as Yano went off in anger. Mizu-chin asked Nana if it was all right to be so and Nana said whatever she said would simply make things worse. Mizu-chin then told Nana that there will be one day when Yano would eventually give up. We then see Yuri chasing Yano, stumbling and finally falling on the snow, hurting herself. Nana saw this scene from where she stood in the class, with Yano lifting Yuri up and looking at her. At the end, Yuri sat with Yano at the train station, saying that Yano stayed with her simply because he pitied her, rather than taking revenge. He said no matter what, she could not change the thing that was the “worst about her”.

—————————————

Thoughts

I really feel that Yuri had the short end of the stick. I think it will be hard to not feel pity for her, especially when Yano said that he only stayed with her then for pity, rather than taking revenge. In my opinion, to be a relationship and dumped for revenge gave you a legitimate reason to be angry with the person. However, when the person only dumped you because he pitied you initially and got together with you, you have a really poor and sad person.

That person is Yuri and it’s hard for me to be stone-hearted when it came to her.

I would also add that Takeuchi is somewhat similar in that manner. I know that I am not the kind to compete with anyone unless I know perfectly well that I have a very high chance of succeeding. I tend to hide and avoid any form of fighting unless I know very clearly that I will win. I guess that is why I am quietly supporting Takeuchi x Nana, simply due to the fact that I fully understand Takeuchi.

I remember reading somewhere, perhaps in the animesuki forums that there was someone who commented that the main characters are not ready for a relationship. I agree to a certain degree with Nana. Nana is too emotially fragile and insecure to have any significant relationship with any guy. The fact is that she cannot trust anyone, not even Yano who clearly loves her a lot. That said, that might be curbed slightly if she ends up with Takeuchi but the truth seems to be there. She is not ready for a real relationship, not with anyone just yet.

However, I deviate from the view that Yano is not ready. He is a really careless person but I realized that he is in fact a very nice guy that has his priorities wrong. Now, the whole relationship is falling because of Nana’s insecurity but he is still fighting on hard. However, like what Mizu-chin, he would lose it one day. I hope it is not that soon but with the ending looming, it seems like the end.

I got a feeling that the ending will be rather sad but the next episode seems to be Yano leaving with his mother to Tokyo. More drama is promised!

Who will be left crying? Who will be left happy?

This is it. If you think about episode 21 is the climax, I think the “aftermath” is building up to the climax as well. Amazing episode once again as Bokura ga Ita is reaching its ending soon with 4 more episodes to go. It still keeps me guessing who will end up with who.

If anything, someone will get hurt. I do not know who.

————————————-

Episode summary

We see Takeuchi bringing Nana home, telling her to take a rest as Yano rushed over by taxi to reach her. He explained how he had rushed to the meeting area and came over here. However, she was too sad to listen as she told him to go away as she entered her house. Takeuchi then told him that Nana was never very confident. He also said that it was probably the right thing to do but the real meaning of this was not whether he did it right, but that he had caused Nana to cry once again.

As Nana slept on her bed, Yano continued to press the house bell, trying to get her. When she continued to block him off, he walked off alone in the cold snow. The next day, it seemed that Yano had a fever due to two hours walking home as he had spent all his money taking the taxi. In class, Nana’s friends were asking her about the “experience”. Just when she said there was nothing happening, Yano came in and tried to chat with her, only to be ignored and shoved. Yano then collapsed from the shove, due to him being extremely weak already. Nana also met up with Takeuchi at the corridor, but she seemed to be rather cold as Takeuchi asked if she was also avoiding him.

After class, Nana and her two friends were talking about the decision made by Yano to visit Yuri instead of him. It was then that Nana realized that it was probably her lack of trust and insecurity in the relationship as one of her friends said Yano only went to Yuri because he trusted her completely and expected her not to misunderstand. Nana, in her thoughts, realized that it was probably because of the disclosure that Yano and Yuri had sex, that caused her to be extremely insecure.

At Yano’s house, we realized that he had been resting for a day as Yuri came over, bringing notes for him. He was exceptionally cold to her due to the confession he made, as well as remembering what Nana had said about her. Yano’s mother brought some pudding in, only for Yano to retort that Yuri should eat it quickly and leave. With that, she left, meeting Nana at the doorstep. Nana told Yuri not to call Yano again because she did not like it and that she’s his girlfriend. The fact that Yuri is ex-Nana’s sister would make Yano confused.

However, Yuri replied back in a very fierce and abased way (very unlike her) that she was there when Yano needed help, when he was happy, when ex-Nana died and the aftermath of the incident. She knew Yano much better than her and could take care of him, unlike Nana. With that, Takeuchi came over to the house. Nana said she tried her best to be considerate but kept failing. Takeuchi said everyone was not perfect and misunderstanding occurred even though you tried so hard to avoid it. Yano then spoke, with the trees blocking Nana. He then said that he could not avoid hurting Nana and felt so not confident about the relationship.Nana then ran off, with Takeuchi giving chase.

Yano then asked again whether there was anyone else visiting. As he left the house, he saw the chick telephone accessory and he knew that Nana did come. On the other hand, Takeuchi caught the running Nana. She told him not to be so nice when she’s at her weakest and crying. He then told her to smile and return to her old self. Takeuchi then confessed, saying that it would be better for her to be with him because he would never make her cry and would protect her. He would always be the first to come when she needed help.

At the end, we realized that Yano’s mother is going on a divorce and a friend had recommended her a job. She said she probably could not find a job ever if she did not take this opportunity. With that, Yano mouthed that they were leaving for Tokyo. The last shot was a climate scene, with Takeuchi proclaiming that he would protect her, with Nana with a soft tear in her eye.

—————————————–

Thoughts

I realize very slowly that the whole relationship twisted very badly after around episode 17. It took me so long to realize that it is in fact Nanami who is very insecure and not confident about her love on the likes. In fact, Yano who has been portrayed slightly as insecure is not the one, but it is Nana-san. I wonder why it took me so long to figure that out. It is apparently clear that she also realized her faults in the relationship, especially her not trusting that Yuri and Yano had nothing together. Well, Yano at the very least had no feelings whatsoever with Yuri.

Am I the only person to pity Yuri? She is just about the biggest victim here. Yano broke up with her sister and she, who is in love with Yano, is used as a tool (as well for sex) to recover from his ordeal. What the hell? The worst thing is that she still likes him a lot, only to always get his cold shoulder. That is one of the biggest mistakes that Yano has done and Yano has been avoiding the topic altogether. At least give me a proper answer, Yano.

Takeuchi is clearly in no fault in my opinion. Granted that Yano and Nana are currently an item. However, to see the girl that you like so much suffering in her relationship will do wonders. Hence, I feel that Takeuchi’s confession has little wrong to it. In fact, I believed in his words that Nana will be much happier with him and there are in fact a few love sparks between the two, just not awakened yet.

Takeuchi has gone through a lot. Firstly, he had to see his best friend and the girl he likes get together. Secondly, he has to clamp down on his own feelings in order to fulfill the two of them. It is really enough time, and about time that he did something about it. Go, Takeuchi, win her heart.

I am a staunch supporter of Nana x Takeuchi because even though both are not confident, Takeuchi is definitely self sufficent. It is clear from the various sacrifices that he has done for Nana that he can be very dependable. I do wish, even though it will be less exciting, that the two will come together. I just got a feeling he will get rejected at episode 23…

I think the next week’s preview has to do with more Yuri and Yano. Wonderful episode…I can’t wait for the next episode to come out.

Takeuchi Ganbatte! Go Takeuchi x Nana. The revival of the possibility of them being together is once again doused into live fire after the Yuri attack of “I like you” in this episode. With the entrance of the girl who is so similiar to Yano, the test of romance between the four will only become more intrigue.

All that is of course good news for me! Time to go to the episode summary proper!

———————————————–

Summary

We have Nana organizing some time alone with Yano on Saturday, as her parents would not be in town. She also made the day special, as it was implied that they might have sex that day (They are 17 now). Yano then started to think what she would be wearing when she was sleeping, as well as the things that they would do the whole day. They both wished for time to reach Saturday soon. The next day, Yano met up with Takeuchi while boarding the bus and Takeuchi knew from Mizu-chin that he bought condoms. News does spread fast.

At the bus stop, Yano got a call from Yuri and it seemed that her mother suddenly fainted and was completely unconscious as he stayed there to comfort her. He then gave Nana a call, explaining the situation but Nana wanted him to come over because he had somewhat chosen Yuri over her.

Yano added that Yuri had no one else for support and told her to go home first. Nana refused and said she was going to wait for him until he came as she hung the phone. Takeuchi, on the other hand, was clearly distracted by the sudden disappearance of Yano at the bus stop after the call and received a call from Yano.

Takeuchi screamed at Yano for doing what he did, but Yano simply asked Takeuchi to give her a call to get her to go home. Nana was still out in the snow, waiting while crying at the place. She told Takeuchi not to call anymore and in the background, she spoke saying how she could not believe that Yano had chosen Yuri over her on this important day.

We then went to the scene of the hospital, where the doctor explained that Yuri’s mom had fallen unconscious due to stress on her body. Yano then asked to leave to meet up with Nana but told Yuri that she could call anytime. Just when he left, Yuri mouthed out that she always liked him and he was left in a shock as he rushed over.

Takeuchi, on the other hand, abandoned his girlfriend, saying that there was something he must do. He actually stepped out of the relationship because he wanted Nana to be happy. However, she was crying now and he could hell care, as he got there to Nana earlier. He then said he would never make her sad (in his thoughts), as he asked Nana to go home. Yano came too late.

—————————————–

Thoughts

Wahahahaha, my prediction is correct. YURI DID DO SOMETHING AND MAN, SHE REALLY DID IT. She confessed to Yano and currently, I find her motives very pure. Bokura Ga Ita initally demonized Yuri and made her look like the villain in the first crisis during the first half of the show. However, it is no longer the case this time.

There is no one that is really evil or good here. They are all doing what they think is right. Some people (especially the characters) blamed Yano for choosing Yuri over Nana for this. I am not a supporter of Yano, but I have to admit that I will do the same thing if I was put in his shoes. In Yuri’s eyes, she has very few friends and the only friend she can consider in any case is probably Yano. For a friend who needs help, you will expect your girlfriend to be understanding and take care of the poor girl who is worried sick over her mother.

I will make a stand differently and said that Nana had acted a bit imprudent. I can understand why she did it. She has stepped through her fear and tried to open herself up completely to Yano and make the day a very special day. However, Yano had in fact chosen Yuri over him, when Yuri could technically find anyone else to accompany her. The fact that he ran without informing Nana shows a lack of resilience and there seems to be a strong problem with Yano giving half-assed comfort to Yuri. That should not happen in my humble opinion and on Nana’s side, it’s understandable why she was so sad.

Also, to add, TAKEUCHI X NANA is revived once again. I am so sad when it seemed totally impossible the past two episodes but it seems like the ball is once again at Takeuchi’s corner. He better stop giving away his chances because he wants to be a nice guy. Seriously, he has to follow his logic of hecking every single thing and just chase Nana. He is definitely one that will never make Nana cry.

Yano did, and many times even.

Next week seems to be a confrontation of Yano and Takeuchi. Yuri also was involved in the screenshots, saying how Nana was not good enough. Confrontation time baby!

Episode summary

Takeuchi’s friend had forced him to go for another Goukon, since he was always free. As he went with another friend, it seemed that they were all lovey dovey with each other, making him feel like a total lightbulb. Eventually, we realized that it was the other girl tagging along, Isa, who was interested in Takeuchi and asked him to give her a month to be together.

He agreed, even though he did not like her. As Yano was sleeping, Lala the dog was sleeping on him, as he tried to shrug him off. As he finally opened his eyes, his two friends were there as they were celebrating Takeuchi having a new girlfriend. Yano simply called him an idiot and said that he had a date with Nana.

As they went out, Yano forgot that he was not to wear the red track suit because it would look very couple like and daring. She was annoyed but Yano said he forgot due to a little problem that happened when he came and appeased her by bringing her to a pet shop. She forgot all about it with all the cute things around. As Yano asked whether someone could fall in love with a person that they did not like at all, Nana gave him the example that she used to hate him a lot.

As a passerby said about their dressing, she immediately was annoyed but was calmed down by Yano as they had a romantic dialogue with Nana saying how she could not hate him even though he always made her angry. Back at school, Yuri (aka Yamamoto) was having reddish eyes due to being unused with contacts and Yano teased her to be a rabbit, eliciting a slight blush in her.

During PE, Yano and Takeuchi had a clash over Takeuchi’s new girlfriend since Yano said that he was being cruel for dating the girl even though he did not like her. Takeuchi said he might grow to like her. As they got at each other, Nana came as they stopped. After the incident, Takeuchi acknowledged that Yano was right but asked him to consider his feelings as he tried to move on.

At night, Yano met Nana as he passed back her notes. Nana asked why Yano isn’t happy for Takeuchi. He then hinted that Takeuchi was dating a girl that he did not like but Nana said it was ok and Takeuchi might grow to like her. Yano then noticed that Nana’s hair was wet and wanted to pass her the sweater before hugging her.

He then realized she was not wearing a bra as he kept his distance. He then used a red bandanna to cover her wet hair. Yano then wished he could be with her forever and go on a holiday where the two of them could be alone. He added that he wished to be an adult faster and Nana added that it would be great if they could be together forever as they kissed under the starry skies.

—————————————-

Episode thoughts

This is the setup of small little things that will soon acculumate to the finale of this show. This show is clearly one of the best romance series in history in my humble opinion, because it purely captures the emotions of true, imperfect people that are geninuely living in this place. They are not totally unattainable people, simply normal teenagers that are living in this world.

Bokura ga Ita has this charm with it, the fact that every single person in the series is struggling with their own lives, yet braving, stumbling through trial and error to find their path. It is so saddening yet interesting to see Nana and Yano finally having some time together. I will take the issue about the forebonding that is very very strong at the start and end a bit later.

The little incident with Yuri seems to disturb me. She seems to be changing for Yano and the fact that she blushed when he teased her about her red eyes makes me suspicious, especially with the preview on her calling Yano over after something happened in her house. I do not know, but the drama seems definitely to be starting next week, as we go through the last roller coaster of this wonderful series.

Some people are definitely hating Yuri quite a bit, calling her a whore and the likes. I admit that I do not have a good impression of her due to episode 11-12, as she is trying to be horrendous. As I am given time to think, I realize that she simply did not know what to do to deal with Yano, a man that she really loved. If you loved a man that had sex with you, yet have no way to capture his heart…..Perhaps that is what you do. The previous few episodes also brought her to a better light and I am starting to pity Yuri quite a bit.

In a way, I wish she finds her happiness, however she will get it.

The above ending could have been the “ending” if they wanted it to end the show beautifully, especially with the slightly open ended style in some shoujo anime. With the monologue of Nana in the future talking about how she could still remember his face when he was 17, it feels as though that they would soon be apart at the end of this series.

This definitely does not bode well for anyone who wishes to see a fairy ending because the style of speech used feels to be speaking of someone in the past tense, aka someone who is no longer around with her or someone that is already dead.

I can only feel that this is an extremely big hint that the ending will be a very bittersweet one, either that or totally depressed one. Someone please grab my box of tissues because I am sure I will be weeping and shedding tears at the last few episodes.

The remaining of her talk involves her saying about how she realized that forever does not exist once they grow up. It was simply the notion of being kids that thought of forever being a possibility but she remembered then that during that night, the time that had together seemed to be everlasting.

That monologue to me was a great special speech by Nana because it was so true and painful.

The next episode had Takeuchi making his move (finally?) and Nana asking Yano to come to her house but he said he had to visit Yuri because there is a problem with her mother or something. Cheers.

Yamamoto is definitely quite hot without her specs. I wonder who she is trying to tempt. Yano?

This really feels like the peace before the storm. I do not know why but the fact that some things occur meant that the relationship of Yano and Nana, be it strong currently, will have a last test of courage. In my opinion, the fact that they got back together now does not seem promising for a future at the very least.

I will wait with bated breath on the possible last arc of this show.

——————————-

Episode summary

In school, everyone knew that Yano and Nana are back together, with Mizu asking her whether it was in impulse. However, they gave her their blessings and told her to take care. Yano then arranged a meeting with Nana to come to her house for studying.

As Yano went over and took the bus, he met Takeuchi and it was an awkward situation. Takeuchi told him not to be so nice to Yano, but Yano said it was him who dropped out half way after the chase. A person like him who started the competition but gave up halfway did not deserve any sympathy from him.

Yano also happily backstabbed Takeuchi when they got down, telling Nana that Takeuchi was going for a dating session. They then studied, with Yano being totally kind. Nana was uncomfortable with it, saying that he was way too serious. He said he was worried that Nana might leave him if he tried to do something silly. Eventually, he went back to normal after being assured by Nana. Back at school, Yano and Takeuchi went on a jumping competition on the horse vault as some petty competition, causing Takeuchi to have a sore back after that.

As Takeuchi reached home in sorrow after an uneventful dating meet, his brother (sister?) came over to talk to him and hit the spot when she realized that it was Yano disturbing his mind. She then told him that there is no such thing as fair in love and there are no such clear cases like winners and losers. She even added that if you really want something, you have to fight for it rather than lamenting. Nana also told Yano during lunch at school that she would never leave him and she would always be there to support him.

A few days later, they seemed to be in the class representative to take care of things in class while the others went out to play. Nana then asked him how the dating meeting went, causing him to drop all the papers. It seemed that things were pretty awkward between the two of them but Nana thanked him for taking care of them. He then smiled weakly and said that things were better for how they were now. He was sure that backing out would be the right decision. Or would it?

He then saw a lovey dovey scene of Nana adjusting the scarf of Yano as they left the school. The next day, Yamamoto came with contacts, seemingly on a big change of image.

———————————————-

Thoughts

Ok, hands up for anyone who thinks that Yamamato is up to no good. I swear and solemnly think that she is up to no good. The first scene where we realized that Yano and Nana are officially back offers a back shot of Yamamoto listening in to the conversation between Nana and her friends. I do not think that it is a coincidence that she appears to be listening. Then we see the ending sequence of Yamamoto changing her image.

Coincidence again? I do not think so.

There must be something behind her motives, since she is always clear to have an interest in Yano, especially when Nana and Yano broke up. I do not know, but I just got the feeling that Yamamoto is up to no good. That will only mean a final arc of drama-rific melacholic relationship. I have no complains, if that means that there is a minor chance that Takeuchi will be together with Nana in the end. Yes, I know that he is not going to ever make a move, but you cannot blame the idealist in me, no?

That said, I really hate Takeuchi’s wimpy attitude when it came to love. Takeuchi first says all that “timing is key” and then backs out of the race in order to be a nice person since he had already lost. Honestly, there is no winner or loser in love. You got to keep fighting and at least get rejected in order to know whether the other party likes you or not. If you want something, you jolly well try to get it instead of being a total idiot in it. That is something I really hate about Takeuchi: indecision.

This episode seems to be a nice introduction of problems that will soon arise with the next episode, since I feel somehow that this is the calm before the storm. Seriously, it is just that shoujo tendency in me acting in me and I am so sure that it will happen.

They definitely won’t end with a happy ever after end. Next episode seems to be Takeuchi getting a girlfriend but not liking her whatsoever. Wondering how it will be.

I am so glad that the money stingy Nana is back. There has been way too much drama in Bokura ga Ita that I cannot laugh so hard at it like I did for the first few episodes. It’s back and this episode balances out the humor as well as the drama in two distinct parts, which I thought was great.

Just an additional point of note. Hmmm, ok, I lose. I give up. Takeuchi is not going to be with Nana.

*waves white flag* (and the summary will be short since it is out quite a long time ago)

———————————

Episode guist

Nana went on another date with Yano for the movies in order to know what exactly happened with ex-Nana. They were like on a real date, as Yano had those tickets that were expiring today and even had a quarrel with Nana over popcorn, like her queer choice of caramel popcorn. He also treated her the popcorn because she was broke.

At the movies, they showed the same movie they watched 1 year ago, with Yano telling the profile of ex-Nana but not answering what Nana wants. She also noticed how Yano was no longer holding her hand, even though he still left a space for her in the armrest.

After the movie, they got into yet another argument as Nana got angry since he was avoiding the question. She ran off, tripping from the wet autumn leaves falling. She was losing her confidence and her ability, and said that she is giving it all up. It’s game over.

As they returned home to Nana’s house, Nana was about to enter the house when Yano finally spoke about the incident. Yano and ex-Nana had quarreled over some silly thing about lunch in a pasta shop for their anniversary. After that, he did not have the chance to reply back to her and she died. He never liked anyone to talk about her because he felt so much regret that he did not do anything, or to love her more before she died.

Yano then told Nana that he did not expect anything from her but all the girls that he wished left him all the time. To him, she is now his most important person. Nanami rushed forward in tears, hugging him and telling him that ex-Nana will forgive him. She urged him to tell ex-Nana everything and Yano simply mouthed that he was sorry for not being able to make her happy.

“You passed.” She said to Yano.

———————————–

Thoughts

I really think that I will look back to the second half of this episode and realize how powerful this show is. Starting with the comedy elements, this episode did not seem to have the impact that it will have at the end of it. I am surprisingly shocked how they portrayed that forgiveness of Nana, as well as how Yano was finally rid of the past that he was bound to for so long.

I feel so bad now that I accuse of Yano of every single thing. I should have realized by a few episodes ago but I was blinded by my faith in Takeuchi x Nana that I did not notice this earlier. Yano never ever hated ex-Nana. He avoided it clearly in order to prevent himself from being helpless once again. He had seen how his little squabble with ex-Nana led to him being “abandoned” by her.

The fact is that Yano never had the chance to say he’s sorry for arguing with her. That was the painful decision. I doubt that Yano ever blamed ex.Nana for anything in his life but it is a good thing that he has such a magnanimous girlfriend in Nanami.

Yano really grew a lot this episode. Way too much that I have to admit that the chance of Takeuchi entering this relationship is practically zero now. The love of these two is so strong that nothing can break them apart for now. I am glad, seriously.

Strange that I do feel this way, considering how much I hate Yano. There has been tons of childlish and stupid acts that he had done, and the quarrel probably indirectly led to her early demise. We never know since it is an accident but I can understand why Yano blamed himself for it.

If only.

I think Yano asked and told himself so many times these words. If only I did not quarrel with her. If only I called her earlier. If only. If only.

YY summarized well about the intentions and lessons learnt.

“So in short, the two things you can learn from this episode is that firstly, Yano is angry at Nana’s death not because Nana betrayed him, but rather that he was powerless to save her when she needed it. Secondly, his feelings of anger and aversion towards the Nano subject in front of Nanami is due to his apologetic feelings for his ex girlfriend, and he doesn’t want to bring that up in front of Nanami.”

Taken from YY in his entry on Bokura ga ita 18

Totally true.

That is what happens. Next episode seems to be Yano x Nana officially becoming a couple again. Excitement.

Lalami? Yano is really a very sentimental guy.

Yes, I am surprisingly not criticizing or insulting Yano for this episode. Anyone who watched this episode will find it hard to hate Yano. He invokes sympathetic feelings. Sigh, even I have to resign to the fate that Takeuchi x Nana will never happen in my entire lifetime. It is a little sad but I am also happy how this triangle relationship is developing.

Note: I have decided by now to watch Bokura ga Ita on chinese subs, so get ready for more speedy coverage of this show. I am way too excited for this not to watch it quickly :p

———————————————–

Episode summary

Nana was at school and rejected Yano’s offer to go home together. However, she did mention about going out to talk about ex-Nana’s events. On the day, Takeuchi tagged along and it was glad that Yano was not too happy about it. Yano also avoided the situation of ex-Nana, not answering what Nana wanted.

Nana also found out about her picture being deleted due to a hook-up party and teased Yano about it. Eventually, Takeuchi realized that they would not get anything out of Yano. As Takeuchi left, he told Nana to have a normal date with Yano, telling her that the revealing was in fact just something to make her feel better and hence go back to Yano.

Takeuchi was also consoled by his friends, as he returned home, since he was officially out of the contest. His friends told him not to give up. As Yano and Nana went back to his house for a short date, he brought the stray dog that he took from Takeuchi. They went on a walk along the river, and it was then that we had some back story of Yano being a bastard child (his current father is a stepfather) and that he had never met his birth father before.

Nana was getting soft-hearted with Yano’s every approach and she was close to returning to him. She did not know what to do, since she was caught between her heart and mind. As Yano returned home, his mom felt that there was once again this distance between them and Yano simply replied that he was an adult which is why he never mentioned much about his life. As he saw his stepfather, visions returned about him being a “bastard child” and training hard to be a swimmer in order to be like his father.

In the flashback, He actually saw his father, who was thought to be the father of another child. He was dying and Yano finally saw him and the flashback ended with his mother talking about a new father. Yano then thought about his luck and messaged Nana, telling her to meet up again so that he could tell her everything. Takeuchi also was thinking why everything that he really wanted always go out of his grasp. What would happen to the three?

———————————————

Thoughts

Ok, after hearing about the things that Yano has to go through, he was already ****ed up by the time he had his girlfriend. That really caused a big problem in his heart, since he started with a family that is not whole. We all know about the problems of having a single parent family in our society and Yano has to go through such things during his young life. That will cause tons of changes to a young child’s psyche.

I also have to add something about the flashback which disturbs me. Yano has to grow up not knowing that the man he was visiting at the hospital was his real father. Why? I do not understand it whatsoever. It is seriously screwed up and I think even as a child, he deserves to know more about his father. Why did his mother do it? I can only think that somehow, his mother wants to disassociate herself away from him.

For what reason? I have no idea.

Also, his many attempts to get back together with Nana is really sweet.

That, coming from a Takeuchi x Nana fan, is something really great, since people who have followed my entries know how much I hate Yano due to his behavior toward Nana. That does not mean I forgive him for all the things he had done, but the various efforts to improve himself in order to regain Nana’s favor is something that even the hardest fan will have to accept.

I mean, naming the dog as Lalami to remind himself, trying to please Nana in all ways after being rejected, trying to do all these things even though he had a horrible past are things that are not easily achievable. It is something that can only be done if someone is truly and fully in love with the other party. It is rather heartwarming how these two people are so happily in bliss with each other

Takeuchi is by now just a bit piece character in this. I actually expected Yamamoto to be involved in some part of the plot, but it seems that she is not. It will be interesting if she attempts to revive her relationship with Yano, since we did see a screenshot of her when Yano is trying to get Nana out on class and is dutifully rejected.

Next episode seems to be Yano and Nana getting back together. I will be doing a rapid review on it once I watched it, so cheers.

p/s Sigh, no sign of Takeuchi x Nana anymore. Boo!

Why is Takeuchi being such a long winded, wimpy bastard about Nana. The thing is that he said all that crap about timing earlier on and now, what?

Oh god. I am so frustated because I can understand why he did it and I am annoyed that he did what he did. Sigh. By the way , for Bokura ga Ita, i am actually following the sub version so I decide for all english subbed versions, I will provide a way briefer version of the episode and focus more on thoughts, since it is generally watched already if it’s english subbed.

Good idea, no? Less clutter too ^+^

——————————————————-

Episode summary

It is the time of confession and Yano tricked Takeuchi as he tied and locked Takeuchi up. As Yano went around to find Nana, Nana went into hiding as she did not know how to answer the both of them. Mizu-chin added that both Takeuchi and Yano are looking for Nana. As Takeuchi escaped from his lock up, he met up with Yano and got into a fight. Mizu-chin came over and told that Nana cannot answer them.

Yano said it isn’t fair and was making a fit out of it. As Nana hid in the Chemistry room, Takeuchi knew she was there and adviced her that no one wanted to hurt anyone, but just follow where her heart is and everyone can accept it. He then urged Nana to go find Yano. As Yano lied down on the grass, Nana came to see him, as she guessed that Yano will be crying. She then told him that she could come back to him, if he would just tell her everything about Nana. He did not see the point but Takeuchi came out, saying that if Yano was going to be half-assed about it, he does not deserve Nana.

——————————————————-

Thoughts

JUST TO REPEAT, I AM SO DAMN ANNOYED.

Man, I was really keen on Takeuchi and Nana, and the fact that he has so many fricking chances to place the smackdown and leave Yano in dust. I mean, yes, you care about the friendship very much. Does Yano think that way though? I do not think so. Yano feels to me to be a selfish bastard that could care less about others and only work to his own benefits. In a way, it is more of his character but I feel if he can get rid of the ex-Nana situation, he will be a pretty stable boyfriend.

The big question is “IF”.

I just got this niggling feeling that Yano will never be able to dig out of the hole that he dug himself. I know that compared to Takeuchi, Yano is probably more honest of his feelings and show it out immediately. It’s the truth that Yano has complexities that he cannot handle. He is but a normal human, even though his appearance makes him more outstanding compartively, which is why people think he can handle stuff easily when he’s just as weak as the normal man out there.

Sadly, I am still on the view of Takeuchi being a better partner for Nana. Some people might consider Takeuchi to be manipulative and smart in which to add upon his actions carefully. However, he feels more like someone who is a geninue nice guy, thinking about his friends and treating friendship above himself. In a way, it is a selfless act, but selfless people never win in anime, or in real life. It’s the people who are selfish and look out for themselves who will win in the long run.

It’s sad but really true because things are just the way it is. I really now know why Nana is well liked by these two characters. Nana is probably one of the sweetest and kindest girls ever in anyone’s life. I mean, she suffers quietly and even though she is hurt so many times by Yano, she still loves and cares for him.

Most gals will become vindictive and the likes but she is so kind and good. The thing is that she thinks it as a situation that she is no longer fit to help Yano, rather than the fact that Yano is just being a total idiot. However, i have some concerns with Nana being such a soft-hearted gal because she will only get hurt by the present Yano. If Yano can somehow bring himself up to reality, she will be with a wonderful guy. Can he do it? I am not sure. I know i repeated myself above, but it is something that is nagging in my mind and I tend to repeat things. Nana has to learn to harden her heart, and find the true love for herself. No one else but her knows what is good for her.

A relationship that brings only tears and sadness is not worth having in my opinion. However, if there is sadness and tears, but there is also happiness and joy waiting, that relationship is worth salvaging. I am definitely against Yano x Nana, but I think if it does happen (probably will), i will be acceptable to it. Nana is too sweet a girl for me not to see her staying with the guy of her choice. It is clear what she feels in a way.

Sigh, how I wish a girl like Nana exist in real life and I get to meet her.

Mu Ri. It will never happen.

Who will be left crying? Who will be left laughing? Mizu-chin summarized this whole episode really nicely.

It is really only one person that can win Nana’s heart. That is also if she is ready for it. By the looks of it, whoever will ask Nana now will probably be rejected. I just got that feeling that Nana will somehow return back to Yano and be abused somewhat once again and fall once again. Nana got to learn that there are other guys out there that is better.

Like Takeuchi.

This is by far one of the good set up episodes in which to hit the cliffhanger at the end of this show. Considering that it is a 26 part series, we are still far from a possible conclusive result from this show. In fact, I just feel that this love triangle will be dragged out quite a bit before we have an ending. Let’s wait for it, all right?

Episode summary

At the start, Nana asked whether Yano was working hard still instead of escaping after what she said to him. She realized that he was there busy and seemed to be normal when she spied on him. Yano saw her shadow and realized she was there as she walked off, thinking why she still feared to hurt Yano even though they had broken up.

The school festival had started as Nana went out with her friends together like they did 1 year ago, except they never wore any yukutas as it was only the gals this time. Mizu-chin asked if Yano had invited her and Nana said she would reject him if he asked but she was internally disappointed. Yano was also there in the scene, as Nana heard a girl who was asking Yano to scoop a goldfish for her.

Mizu-chin tried to defuse the situation by going over to the tortoise stall to scoop some tortoises. As Nana looked on, a man was effectively scooping the tortoise and offered one to her for free. However, Takeuchi suddenly came out and proclaimed not to disturb her girlfriend (hell yea!) and dragged Nana away, with Nana completely surprised. As they moved away, Takeuchi explained that it was a scheme so that they could sell expensive feed to her and a friend of his had done this before. Nana started to blush as Takeuchi was so gentle and helpful and also had a sms from Mizu-chin telling her good job! He then asked to leave as he was with his friends but he turned back to tell Nana that if ever she was bullied, she could find him.

Nana went back to her friends, with Mizu-chin disappointed that she came back alone. Yano and Takeuchi talked about the sitaution and Takeuchi said that he would soon make a move and Yano said that he was not so nice to stay as friends. The school festival planning continued in the day as Yamamoto surprisingly agreed with Yano on the plans rather than disagreeing and having a catfight (like what the classmates expected). They then planned with something special for the drink so that they can still earn money from the cafe. Yano then asked suddenly how to forget a person that was dead. Yamamoto did not reply.

AS the school festival started, Nana was attracting people in the hot sun. As they ran out of fliers, Nana was able to go copy more when Mizu-chin came over with juice that Yano asked Mizu-chin to give it to her as it was hot in the sun. Takeuchi’s sister (aka trap-san) appeared as Nana guided her to the place.

Yano saw them and tried many attempts to get Takeuchi’s sister out of the way and that he would never trust her again. As Nana sent Takeuchi’s sister out, the trap asked Nana whether she had a new flame. When Nana said no, she simply said that to replace an old love, you have a new love so that the new love will make you forget about the old love. Only love can heal a person who was hurt from love.

The whole festival ended and it seemed that from Yamamoto’s calculations that they had indeed earned money. In the night of confession festival, Yamamoto told Yano that there was no way to forget the past but only by bringing it to memories. Yamamoto then said Yano was stronger than this and he was able to solve this. We then changed scenes with Nana as Mizu-chin remarked that Yano had asked Nana then and they did not even last one year before shutting up. Takeuchi also told his friend that he did not want to lose Yano or Nana, but he would risk his friendship to confess.

As the curtains dropped for this episode, who would confess? Who would win or lose? The next episode might give us an insight.

—————————————-

Thoughts

Ok, let me collect my thoughts. It seems to me that Nana likes both Takeuchi and Yano at the same time. Effectively, if she wants to be a flirt (she can’t be one, sadly), she should date both Takeuchi and Yano and then dump Yano almost immediately to shatter his pride completely! Ok, I am being totally evil to Yano now but there were many scenes that were rather memorable for this episode.

For example, I like the small talk between Takeuchi and Yano. The fact that both knew what each other wanted and yet still talk freely about it shows the trust that the both have on each other. Even though Yano threatened him a few times, the truth is that both of them are really close friends and Nana between them has strained it slightly. I do not see Yano or Takeuchi breaking up their long-term friendship with each other, no matter who gets Nana. I mean, it will be way too drastic, even for Yano. I believe that their friendship can endure a bit more.

I also went HELL YEA! when Takeuchi rushed forward like a knight in shiny armor to proclaim that Nana was his girlfriend to protect her. I know it will not happen but let the fanboy in me enjoy that moment of triumph. Nana even blushed at that and was having happy thoughts so we do know (wishfully) that Takeuchi might still have a chance.

However, he is too much of a nice guy and I can see him backing out if he thinks that Yano can finally protect Nana properly. So no matter what, I am in a fricking lose-lose situation.

Sigh.

I really like the themes of love in this episode too. The things about having a new love to forget the old love and healing with love for someone hurt by love is rather special stuff. I do not fully agree with the statement, as I feel that to forget something is painful. You can never forget but it is the next statement that Yamamoto said that makes complete sense to me. You return it as a memory.

That said, Yamamoto seems to be less of a slut. In fact, somehow, I kinda hope that she finds happiness by going with Yano, so that Takeuchi and Nana can be together. Yes, i have an exterior motive for it sadly. However, Yamamoto still seemed to like Yano quite a bit. Is there a possibility of a love quad? Perhaps. I do not think it will be developed much though. Oh well, we see.

The preview seems to be both Takeuchi and Yano rushing over to Nana, and Nana is not ready to answer as she is still confused about her feelings.

Drama…and more drama please!

AND I WILL KILL YOU FOR BEING SUCH AN IDIOT TO NANA FOR 13 EPISODES! DIE, YANO!!! I hope you get a car crash or something!

*Man, i am vindictive and absolutely biased.*

Wahahaha, I so like this voice message by Yano. It is so funny for once that Yano is the one panicking over Nana. Nana really has suffered enough and she deserves to make Yano all paranoid. At least, for one thing, it is clear that Nana still missed Yano quite a bit, and she is confused with the emotions that she is feeling with Takeuchi.

I do not get her rationale on this but I will cover this in the thoughts part. Onward to summary + thoughts once again!

Episode summary

We saw the previous scene with Takeuchi rushing over to Nana, saying that it is the right timing. As Yano realized what happened, he started to panic as he realized what Takeuchi was going and doing. His friend had to hold him up and he gave Takeuchi a call. Takeuchi did not pick it up as Yano made a very crude voice message and jumped off the bus, wanting to chase them.

Nana, Mizu-chin and Takeuchi were in fact in the riverbank with the dogs, with Takeuchi feeling that he had missed the opportunity and timing completely. They were awkward in talking, as Nana kept doubting whether Takeuchi actually was showing his liking for her. She also felt the heart shudder a little when Takeuchi ran over to inform her. Takeuchi then got a call from his brother (trap) only to realize that it was Yano who had asked the sister to call, as he hung up the phone.

Yano cursed as he realized that Takeuchi knew his intentions and the trap-san decided to give Yano some instructions on where Takeuchi might be. Of course, he was being evil and gave Yano the completely different direction and asked him to go to the park instead of the riverbed. As the awkward silence continued, Mizu-chin was disappointed as she was trying to give the two some silent time. Eventually, they walked back to the bus stop, where Yano was there.

Yano told Nana that he never agreed to break up with her. If she said she was not enough, it was not true. The only way was that he was not good enough and he said he would do anything to make her turn back to him. Nana did not know what to do as she was in the bus and her faith was slightly shaken. Yano then told Takeuchi that he would kill him if he tried to steal Nana. Takeuchi said he was already prepared.

The time for preparation on the school festival was now and everyone was preparing for it. Yano was particularly helpful to the extent that Nana felt a bit disturbed as she sent him to a faraway distance. Takeuchi was also working on his own work and was passed a packet drink that was too sweet for him. As he saw Nana, he was about to give it to Nana but he was stopped by Yano.

As Nana was pulled over by Mizu-chin, both the guys realized. Mizu-chin felt that Takeuchi actually liked her but Nana explained that Takeuchi was just doing what he felt was a nice thing and that she was Yano’s ex-girlfriend. Takeuchi was not that kind of person. She also found Yano very annoying because the more he tried, the more she felt uncomfortable. She wanted to have her distance with him right now.

Even though Yano was taken aback, he said he would not lose to Takeuchi.

—————————————

Thoughts

Well, to be honest, Yano is much more likeable. He seemed to finally realize what Nana meant to him and forced himself to reflect on it and face to the truths. The fact is that he is always running away from reality and the fact that he is still remembering the ex-gf and living his life to her ways is disturbing. Even the dead returned back to memories. They are but memories of the world that will no longer be around in reality, no matter how much you wish them to be back.

Nana also showed some backbone in which to push herself away from Yano. For now, getting back with Yano would only have a vicious cycle on her. She needed proper fresh air with no one. She definitely did the right thing to enjoy her life for now, but I still will want to add that Takeuchi will be very suitable for her. Unlike Yano, he is not a burden to anyone and can be a person that will give Nana strength. Whether Nana will like Takeuchi….is a different matter altogether.

Sigh, Takeuchi is completely overlooked by Nana. I do not understand why her being the ex of Yano had anything to do with Takeuchi chasing her. I mean i can fully understand if Yano and Nana are an item and Takeuchi suddenly barges in. But they already broke up and all that wooha. What’s wrong? I do not understand. Dekkai Mu Ri? I dont think it is impossible. Somehow, Bokura ga ita is telling me it’s impossible for my fantasy of Takeuchi x Nana to exist. Oh well.

However, i will have faith since Nana’s heart did doubt whether Takeuchi actually liked her or not. She also feel the hots for the sweet and kind Takeuchi. I am sure of that. Yes, it is a completely “unbiased” statement from me.

Man, and my job in real life is supposed to be one where I should be objective. Wonderful ^+^. Anyway, the next episode seems to be about the school festival (remember previous year was episode 4)…So, i wonder what special situations will occur now. Can’t wait for episode 15. The tensions are getting tighter and tighter.

Will Takeuchi completely betray his friendship with Yano and move ahead to chase Nana at full flight? Will Nana go back to Yano? What will Yano do? Will Yamamoto try to tempt Yano into her arms instead?

Only one way to find out. COME ON and tune in for next week ^+^

Takeuchi fighto! Go Takeuchi go!

Yano rot in hello! Down Yano down!

Nana, please like Takeuchi!

I think it is pretty clear why I like this episode, even though I know that my hopes will be in vain since Yano will eventually be together with Nana once again. Still, it made no difference to me because I am rooting for Takeuchi and Nana. GO!!!!!!!!

Episode summary

The last episode left us with Nana dumping Yano after we realized that Yano still could not forget about the old Nana. It now goes to the school scene where there is a sport competition and the boys’ team from Nana’s class won the tournament. Yano did very well but Nana avoided the whole topic about Yano completely, refusing to answer Mizu-chin’s question on why she dumped Yano. Nana noted that it had been a week since they broke up and they had not talked to each other since then. It was almost like they had turned to strangers.

She had returned all the books she borrowed from him and she did not get back the manga she loaned to him. The scene changed as Takeuchi and a friend talked about Nana, and that Nana must have been cheated or double timed, if not mentally. Takeuchi realized that Nana must be feeling bad, as he invited Nana to his house, trying to cheer her up with the dogs that he picked up a week ago. He asked whether Nana wants to keep the pets but her family hated pets. He then mentioned that there was no choice as the dog licked Nana’s face. Nana finally smiled and he told her that she’s welcome to visit the dogs anytime.

Yano then went to a party with his friend, as a girl took his phone to compare and deleted the picture of Nana in a yakata. He was very angry and stared at the girl, going into the toilet to leave a voice message to Takeuchi. The friend knew and did not say anything. As he walked out, the girl who deleted it apologized and asked if she could treat and bed him. Yano rejected, saying he “can’t do it” with someone he does not love.

Yano then went over to Takeuchi’s house at 230 am, asking whether he had the picture of Nana. He said he did not and told Yano to leave because he wanted to sleep. Takeuchi also gave warning that he might chase Nana, both in his room and on the bus going to school. When Takeuchi woke up, he realized that Yano had climbed through the window and Yano still clearly liked Nana a lot. Takeuchi did have a liking for Nana (don’t we know).

The school festival started and Nana wanted to be first as usual. Yano then gave a good suggestion to make it a disneyland theme. She then thanked him later but escaped as Yano’ gaze made her confused. Nana was also rejected by Takeuchi when she wanted to visit the dogs, even though Takeuchi mentioned she can go over even if he was not there. As school ended, Takeuchi was going out with Yano and another friend.

As Takeuchi saw Nana about to go out, carrying the bag that held the cookies and plushie for the puppies, he stopped at the last moment. As Yano stepped into the bus, he said that he already gave his last warning and love is all about timing.

Yano’s shocked glaze, as Takeuchi ran over to Nana, telling her that the plans have changed and she can visit, was classic. Takeuchi was now on a quest to capture Nana’s heart.

————————————–

Thoughts

I am so happy that Takeuchi finally made his move. It’s about time he did it, seriously. He deserved much more than the punching bag of Yano. Yano had his issues and since he cannot fix it, he does not deserve Nana at all. The fact that Takeuchi gave him so many fricking chances and he is still a freaking hesistant bastard shows it all. Takeuchi, go strike and hit fourth base or a home run with Nana.

Yes, Nana, accept the hot hot love of Takeuchi! Oh man, the most “unbiased” judgments ever. The new arc had a bit of humor, which is good compared to the overly drama parts during the last arc, causing me to call Yamamoto a total slut. I also am delighted to see a Yano in disarray, not knowing what to do. It really shows clearly that he cares for Nana a lot, but he also cared about the ex-girlfriend a lot. He really have to resolve this before he goes into a relationship. He is not ready yet.

The next episode seemed to be Yano realizing completely what Takeuchi will be doing and he is going to kill him! Well, not literally, but Yano seems to make up his mind on what he is going to do. Great, fighto! GO TAKEUCHI GO, BEAT THE ASS OUT OF YANO PLEASE.

Kthxbye!

Honestly though, if Yano could get rid of that maze that he had built himself, he will deserve Nana. Nana needs Yano more than she needs Takeuchi…

Ok, having comfort is everything you are good for. You are currently at the slut list no. 1 of Impzie’s unofficial shameless anime gal category, Yamamoto. That really shows you that people who look decent usually are not decent. I also hate Yano completely now even though Nana and him broke up. I know they will be back together one day simply because Bokura ga Ita does not look like an anime series that will break the mold in its story telling.

Still, Nana X Takeuchi please! (I spoiled myself of sorts with the manga which is still ongoing but I am not saying which way it will go)….

Anyway, I decided due to time commitments, my summary will be short like all other reviews ^+^…But I think it will be much better. So to bring you…

Episode summary

We realised that Nana realized that what Yano said about him and Yamamoto was true and refused to pick up his calls or acknowledge him in school. Yano felt like total crap and it was almost possible to be sympathic to him. Takeuchi told him that he deserved it of sorts since he is a moron. When Yano complained that Nana did not pick up the phone after 50 calls, Takeuchi said simply to call 100 times.

We then saw Yano going to Nana’s house at night, with Nana still refusing to see him. She asked her mom to give an excuse that she’s sleeping but her mom said she was bathing as she peeked through the window. Yano saw her and mentioned that he would wait. Her mom adviced Yano that Nana will be angry for a while and Yano eventually decided to leave, handling Nana’s mom some flowers. Nana eventually became soft and forgave Yano once again, even though she could not bring herself to forgive him yet. She loved him too much.

Eventually, they got back together and Nana told Takeuchi that she simply wanted to make Yano happy and hated the ex-Nana for hurting Yano so badly. Takeuchi warned her though that a relationship that strains and hurts will be better to be ended than hanging around for it. Yano and Nana then went to the beach on Nana’s insistence. With a few happy moments, Yano suddenly zoned out after remembering something about ex-Nana. Nana realized it as he mouthed out that she hated bugs (the ex-Nana hated it) and said that Yano was confusing her with someone else.

Nana then asked him to speak out anything about ex-Nana and we realized that Yano had never forgotten about her and loved ex-Nana too much. He just wished that she was around and he had forgiven her. With that, Nana dumped Yano. Yano stood by quietly in the rain, with Yamamoto asking if he wants any comfort. He smiled slightly and left, leaving Yamamoto silent in the area.

——————————————————-

Thoughts

Yano is a gutless crap, not Nana. Well, in a way, you can call Nana a gutless girl for not breaking up with Yano earlier. However, it is also clear that Nana still loved Yano a lot, just that she felt that she cannot make Yano happy anymore. She had tried her best to make him happy and stay with him forever, but even superhuman Nana can’t please a damn stupid idiot like Yano.

I cannot believe that I am actually sympathetic to Yano for the first half of Bokura 12. Why am I so soft-hearted like Nana? He deserves to be hung, killed and slaughtered by ugly old monsters that have funny bumps all around their faces or something. He’s not only having a loose screw in the sex department (god, he’s practically horny all day) but also a loose screw in relationships.

He really fails. I used to give him a bit of leeway that he’s 15, he’s emotionally hurt but no longer. He does not deserve it. Both Yano and Yamamoto should just get together and be the most ugly and hideous and disgusting couple ever in the world of anime. Man, if the anime series become that way, I will be so happy since I will be cursing and swearing so happily every single episode. Oh man, you do not want me in a bitchy mode, seriously.

I do have my qualms with the preview. It seems that Takeuchi is finally making his move. I will admit that Takeuchi and Nana don’t have that special spark in a relationship. I mean I like Takuechi X Nana but i feel that there is not much chemistry between the two of them. They feel more like good friends than a couple but we see. Just have to wait really.

Other than that, I just have the following points to take note.

1. I hate Yano big time. Fricking warped boy.

2. I hate Yamamoto big time. Freaking slut.

3. I hate Takeuchi for waiting so long for making his moves.

4. I hate Nana for not leaving Yano earlier.

5. I hate ex-Nana for dying so fast. She will be rather hot. I can also bitch more about her.

….It seems I have a lot of pent up hatred >_>;;;

Oh well, Bokura 13 come soon ~

How I wish i can do that to Yano right now. I so want to tear him to pieces and run him through a train or something.

Why is Yano such a prick? The fact that I watched this episode makes my freaking blood boil. It is very seldom that I totally, utterly hate a character for who he is, but Yano does earn the undisputable shitty boyfriend prize of all time. I mean, Nana is like a pretty flower stuck in some cow dung. Cow dung generally tends to give fertilizer to the flower, but this breed of Yano cow dung is contaminated and will eat up the flower alive.

Anyway, this episode seems to be Yamamoto’s revenge and the revealing of the truth to Nana. How will Nana react? Will Takeuchi make a move? Will Yano finally be clean of his sins (NEVER FOR MY PERSONAL OPINION, HE CAN ROT IN HELL!). I am so bored with studying that I had to sneak in some writing before I go back to mugging…

So, we continue with the last week’s ending scenes, where Yamamoto came over to Yano’s house, asking whether he wanted to know why Nana, her sister was in the same car as Kagawa.

Episode summary

It was back to two years ago.

The day that the ex (aka Nana, Yamamoto’s sister and will thereby be refered as “ex”) died, Yano and her seemed to have a quarrel. Yamamoto was with her sister as the ex was busy checking her phone, waiting for a text or call from Yano. The ex looked pretty down as she was hoping that Yano would call to apologise. As they walked around the shopping complex, Kagawa went by in his car. He invited the ex for a ride, only to have a cold glare as the ex was about to walk off with Yamamoto. However, Kagawa simply said “happy birthday”. July 29th, or that day, was the birthday of the ex.

Back to present time, Yano started being sarcastic on the whole issue and questioned why Yamamoto was bringing all this up. He also laughed how stupid it was that someone said happy birthday to her and the ex immediately entered the car. Yamamoto then asked Yano whether he had never regretted about not saying sorry. Yamamoto had in fact checked the mobile phone of the ex after she died, and realised that Yano had gave a phonecall in the afternoon, probably to ask for forgiveness. It was too late though, since a few minutes, the car crashed.

Nana then came out, wanting to hear what it was all about. However, she was shoved away by Yano, telling her that it had nothing to do with Nana at all as he closed the door. Nana could not hear the conversations that went on between Yano and Yamamoto now. He then questioned the reason why Yamamoto was here trying to cause trouble. However, Yamamoto said she simply wanted to say it to clarify things and said that Yano was cold blooded for all the things he had done.

Even though her sister’s sins would never disappear even after her death, Yano had also committed a great sin. We now knew from the next flashback that he did steal Yamamoto’s virginity and had betrayed both the ex and Yamamoto at the same time. In fact, after he had sex with Yamamoto, he regretted it because he had never forgotten about the ex. With that, Yamamoto left him slightly better (with great sarcasm) with the message that the ex had betrayed him first and that the ex had exchanged calls with Kagawa all the time in the summer.

Nana finally came out, asking whether Yamamoto had left. She was clearly shaken by locked out from hearing anything as she walked out of Yano’s house, ignoring the response of Yano. Yano chased up with Nana as he tapped his shoulders, only for Nana to swing her bag right at Yano, hitting him right on his face. We see Takeuchi in the far end at the scene, as he observed the disintegration of feelings between Nana and Yano. Nana started to ask why she was like an outsider and why Yano was hiding things from her.

Yano tried to deny it (we all know it’s BS) and Nana said that Yano had betrayed her. Yano then said that was not betraying and betraying meant that you walk, stomp and tear apart the person you care about and Yano said he had never done that to Nana. Yano was by now hurting Nana as he gripped her very hard on the wrist. He then asked something really strong.

“Did I toss you away?”

Nana could not answer. Yano simply told Nana to go home by herself as Nana felt that cold pain in her heart.

Back at home, Nana wondered about the words that Yano said and started to feel totally horrible. She could not believe that Yano could speak such harsh words and she wondered how she could get to his heart. Her love seemed to be not enough for him to trust her at all. The scene now changed to Takeuchi and Yano, with Takeuchi telling Yano to tell Nana everything. He said he did not want to as Nana would definitely cry. Takeuchi told him that Yano regretted doing that thing with Yamamoto and he still tried to deny it, saying that it was just something problematic.

The next day at class, Nana found it hard to speak to Yano as it was lunch break. Mizu came over to ask Nana to play dodgeball but she had to take care of the class as she was the daily helper. Everyone, Yano and Yamamoto, seemed to be pretending that nothing happened at all. Yano then came over to return the english textbook and had done the translation homework for Nana. Nana realized that after all this, she still could not hate Yano.

Yano really made an effort and even drew some awful drawings to cheer her up in her textbook. She was clearly touched as she told Yano that she loved him a lot and that was why she did not want to be deceived. She wanted him to tell him the truth as he went about joking and giving her three choices. She was amused but Yano then started on three other more disturbing choices. She was annoyed as Yano seemingly was not taking her seriously until he said the third choice.

“Yamamoto and me had sex.”

Nana at first thought he was joking and said that even for a joke, it was sick. He agreed that it was .Nana finally realized that he was speaking the truth as she cried uncontrollably…

Yano simply sat there, regretting.

—————————

Thoughts

Very dramatic episode. We finally see Yano revealing the whole truth to Nana. He should have done so and come clean about the whole issue. That still makes me hate him because he is so warped with such a young mind. I mean, you screw your ex and then as revenge, you screw your ex’s younger sister and steal her virginity? What the hell, man, your mind is in the gutter. Well, i have enough hate on Yano in this post, so i will talk about Nana.

I don’t think Takeuchi is doing everything right now. He is being too passive about it, especially when the girl that he likes is hurting so badly. I think he ought to make a more active role in this situation and make a run at Nana. I am sure with his gentleman behavior and suave looks, he can probably charm Nana. However, Nana is way too deep in love with Yano, even though Yano had done so many atrocious things to her.

The preview seems to have Nana giving up on the relationship. Of course, I do not think it will happen (since its 26 episodes) but let me dream, all right? Nana, enough of Yano already, find someone better. Anyone else is better than Yano.

Roar!

Onwards to next episode!
