Happy loving on the lovely pictures and grab the full-size images using the download link provided! I personally thought that the Hidamari Sketch one is decent until I found the Kotono and Natsumi wallpaper. That one really blew me off and I swear that if Saint October had that kind of budget, it will have one hundred times more rabid fans. Kotono is total cuteness epitomized.

As you notice, there is in fact an I.D analysis style, which is in fact the first sign of laziness on series that do not interest me that much, yet has a bit of plot for me to mention it. However, when the time comes, it will. What if there is only one scene remarkable for the whole episode, yet I feel like blogging it.

(…in other words, I am making an excuse in writing less)

Hence, the idea of I.D Highlights (if you are wondering, ID means Impzie’s Destructive) came about as I bring to you two scenes from these two series. Get ready for incoherent description of series with simply one picture. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. Hence, I will use one picture and a ton of words to make it doubly powerful!

First scene: Sumire

The first scene is from VVV or Venus vs Virus. I have thought about blogging this series but the fact that it does not really intrigue me completely. This episode has a new antagonist that is immune toward the virus antibody However, this scene is worth the ticket for episode 6, with Sumire going all psycho moe~. I mean, there is an acquired taste of total moe-ness (if there is ever such a word) for shooting oneself right at the head in order to turn to a berserker mode.

The build up is great too, with her saying that she wants to protect everyone. That is a good touch too. A pity she eventually got owned by the antagonist and required an scream-gasm from Lucia in order to be safe. Still, the last five minutes made the series cool.

Second scene: Kotono

Yes, I did say that I am going to drop this series but somehow, this certain picture forces me to at least say something. This episode deals with Yoshua being mistaken for going to marry a really beautiful fortune teller, while Kotono somehow thought that it means that she will be abandoned since she is pretty useless at household chores.

All that is not important. The next line is.

Kotono is a “Meganekko neko mimi gothic moe green haired anime mahou shoujo loli.”

Wow, all the fetishes at one go. That is a hell of a mouthful. If she wears meido clothing, it will be all the fetishes combined onto one anime character. She is almost like otaku waiting bait and I swear that there will be tons of otakus waiting to buy her figurines when she wears her “Black loli” clothing.

Hence, that in itself is worth the watching!

Ok, other than the really queer mahou shoujo transformation, the highlight of this episode is of course the cute Kotono plushies.
I want one. Now.
By the way, does anyone have any clue how long Saint October is going to last?

Episode summary

Natsumi woke up from a dream where Kotono abandoned her for Yohan as she woke up, surrounded by her many portraits and plushies of Kotono. Kotono was instead checking on Felena, who was told by the receptionist that she had quit a few days ago. Hence, they lost the thread in which to find out who attacked them. At the enemy HQ, the cat that the president had was causing a whole ruckus in the highest level, as they talked about Felena who met up with the judgment card. The cat also peed on the president, only for him to swoop a tarot card at the cat to keep it attentive. He then ordered the cat to find judgment and eliminate her.

Back at the base, Natsumi was making a fuss that Kotono was paying more attention to Yohan compared to her as they had agreed to go shopping. Yohan and Yoshua then came back at the wrong time, with Yohan offering strawberry cake to Kotono. Natsumi then went home annoyed. Yoshua then persuaded Koshiro to bring Kotono to appease Natsumi, since it would not be good for the person who was paying Koshiro (Natsumi’s family) to be angry. Yoshua then added whether Koshiro wanted to stay with him alone for tea as it became his incentive to bring Kotono away.

As they arrived to the mansion, Natsumi triggered various vicious traps, but Koshiro’s bad luck meant that he was the one getting closer to death rather than Yohan. As they finally got to the lodge of the house, Koshiro was badly bandaged, as Natsumi said she would pay for his injuries and that it was just a harmless child’s prank (ha ha).

Yohan then wanted to go to the toilet as Natsumi offered to bring him there, with Kotono innocently thinking that both of them were on good terms. As they left, Kotono was complaining that the jobs that they had recently were so boring such as retrieving a cat and hoped for something more exciting. Koshiro said that she needed to appreciate peaceful times more.

Kotono then added that she felt bad for expensing so much money with the detective company but the butler said that it was a way for Natsumi’s family to bring safety as well as a community service for the town. To Natsumi, she brought him into the toilet as she thought of drowning Yohan in the toilet bowl but Yohan came out so fast. She then tried to set up another trigger that would cause him to be trapped in a net but Yohan went to Natsumi’s room, finding plushies and pictures of Kotono.

Natsumi bragged how close she was with Kotono, much more than Yohan but Yohan only replied that he admired them. Natsumi then realized that Yohan had been alone since he had not remembered anyone and she remembered how she was like him at the start of school. She was seen as different by classmates as she was rich and intelligent, with no one daring to approach her other than Kotono. Back to Kotono, the cat finally found them as the president transformed the cat into a devilish panther.

Koshiro tried to stop the panther but was swept aside as Kotono ran away to the woods, with the panther giving chase. Yohan then gave Natsumi the power of “the moon” tarot, just when Kotono turned back and was clamped down by the panther in the woods. Finally, Kotono cast “black melton ribbon” while Natsumi cast “white breath shoot” as they binded the panther easily.

Natsumi was about to slay the cat but Yohan stopped them, saying that the panther was controlled by someone evil and told Kotono to use the judgment skill. As she used it, the panther transformed back into the cat, but the power within the broken card allowed the president to know who Kotono was. However, the president totally FAILED in drawing. As they finished their task, we see the subtle battle of Natsumi and Yohan as Kotono complained that she was going to grow fat.

Thoughts

A bit of random stuff: This is the ninth entry where I mentioned a green haired loli in 2007. Yes, I am disturbed.

Digression over and it’s the time for thoughts.

The transformation of Natsumi can only be described with three words of wisdom, “What the hell”. I actually like the blank ink flowing down Kotono’s body because it was pretty goth and it gives a twist to the normal ribbon-like mahou shoujo genre. Natsumi’s hugging of the huge ball, with sand bursting out slowly just reeks bad fashion. I was hoping it will be something like…well, i have no idea how it should be like, but it sure can be better. I am so annoyed at the bad sequencing of this transformation, even though the dress itself is pretty cute for Natsumi.

I have to add something that also takes up much of my attention. I totally admire Natsumi. Her room is how I dream my room to be: to be filled by the godly kotono plushies. I must say that the portraits are a bit too much and reeks of a certain being known commonly as a stalker. I mean, I am all fine with nice stalker-like anime characters, but Natsumi is really too much of a fangirl. I am not complaining, not with the abundance of green haired neko mimi loli plushies lying all around in the show.

The back story of Kotono and Natsumi is nothing amazing but it is clear that all these girls are forsaken one way or the another. Kotono is an abandoned child while Natsumi is ostracized by others due to her wealth, intelligence and her mental distance with her classmates. It is probably understandable why Natsumi is so attention-seeking when it comes to Kotono because she depends a lot of her.

I honestly still have no idea what the president wants of Yohan. I can see that he has a lot of tarot cards but I presume that he wants the cards owned by Yohan. I also wonder where in the world he gets those cards from, stolen or whatever, but they seem to be the strongest cards, considering that Kotono has the #1 Judgment card and Natsumi has the #18 The Moon card. We still have yet another character appearing, so I will want to see how it goes.

The story for now is a little weak but it is still enjoyable to watch due to the random fangirlism of Natsumi toward Kotono. A bit of character will probably be injected when the third girl comes, and that will decide whether I will follow this series all the way or drop it half way. Still, it’s not too much of a torture to watch this, but I hope they face a more difficult enemy than this later in the series. I can almost see a pattern already, not that it’s good or bad.

So what do you think if you are reading this? Are you enjoying the series, wishing for some more action or you are foaming at the mouth from sheer boredom?

I repeat. There is under no circumstances that a green haired neko mimi Kotono deserved to be slapped by anyone. This is the same case even if you have been taking care of her for the past few years after she is abandoned. Might you be cursed, hexed and hurt gratuitously for conducting such a sinful act.

All right, it seems that I will be actually continuing with this series, considering that I have some free time on my hands and the lure of Kotono makes me keen on watching this too. So, I will move on and blog on this.

Episode summary

We started with a young Kotono who was seen to be abandoned and was eventually picked up by Yoshua. It was a dream and we found Kotono and Natsumi in the classroom, where Kotono had a tear in her eyes. She then wondered what happened to make her dream of it, and Natsumi said it was probably all right for her to rest since she had a very long day yesterday. We then see Kotono and Natsumi talking about finding Yohan’s parents and Natsumi said that Yoshua had brought Yohan to the police with no success. Natsumi also added that there were no parents in the world that did not care about their children and Yohan would find his parents soon.

Koshiro was then watching television to see a really busty blonde doing some advertising. Yoshua then said that the figure of the actress was 85, 58, 91 and that she had fake breasts as he explained in great detail to Yohan about fake breasts and what they were. Koshiro then said that Yoshua was trying to input dirty and corrupted information into the innocent mind of Yohan. When Kotono and Natsumi came back, Yoshua turned 180 degrees and stated that Koshiro said it was all right for adults to lie to children, making the two girls annoyed at him again.

In the headquarters of the antagonists, they reported the failure of the masked magician and the girl under the president’s charge was given one last chance to find the boy. Koshiro then reported that the police had no cases of missing children, while Yohan could remember nothing of his past. Eventually, they brought him back to the house as they enjoyed a good dinner. Kotono also acted like a big sister to Yohan, before Yohan called Yoshua uncle as he reiterated that he was only 27. The stupid chick also repeated that he was old as Yoshua asked Yohan whether he liked fried little chicken. Yohan was tired as he went to sleep after a while. Yoshua warned Kotono not to be so attached to Yohan as the separation will be more painful when they found his parents. However, Kotono said that Yohan was like her, where her parents completely abandoned her and had no one to support her.

In the headquarters, Felena came in 5 minutes late and she explained that she had too many advertisements and commitments. Felena was then instructed to capture Yohan and she was given an incentive to do it by starring in a serial drama if she was to succeed. The supervisor also sarcastically said that there were no fans to swarm her as she threw this hanging bandaged man out of the window (don’t even ask me what the bandaged man is).

Kotono then left for school as she was late as we saw Felena trying to find out information about children. The people she asked started to get suspicious, thinking that she was in cahoots with the previous child kidnapper until she revealed herself. That caused a greater mess as they thought that she was finding her illegitimate child. Felena then sensed a feeling as she found out where Yohan was. Yoshua was making cake as Yohan went back to play, only to meet with Felena, who Yohan recognized as the fake breast person, calling her a “fake breast person!”. Yoshua came out and threw the cake at the girl, with the stupid chick flying off to tell Kotono about it. Felena then transformed using the “Lovers” tarot card, turning to a thorny S&M person. Kotono arrived just in time to stop Felena. However, while Kotono was discussing where Felena was, a thorn appeared as Felena grabbed Yohan and flew away.

Kotono gave chase inspite of Yoshua’s calls that it was too dangerous and finally unleashed her justice card. She then cast Black Melton ribbon to grab the flying Felena and eventually defeated her with a judgment last attack. As the rest of the people got to Kotono, Yoshua gave Kotono a very tight slap and told her that even though Kotono was keen to protect Yohan, she had to remember that Yoshua felt the same way about protecting her and running off that way was extremely dangerous. Kotono was apologetic and Yohan mouthed out that Kotono had the power of Judgment. That was the same thing Felena said when she returned to the evil guys HQ, saying that no one told her that she was facing judgment and she could care less about getting a slot in the drama series anymore. The badly-dressed president also said that the guardian of the boy (Kotono) had the power to cleanse all evilness as they realized that the situation was not as easy as it seemed now.

Thoughts

Ok, after two episodes, Saint October continues with its ridiculous mix of rubbish, junk and crap, yet somehow entertains as well. Kotono is an extremely likable character, which holds the show up for what seems to be a rather average show at the very least. Graphical levels dropped slightly at various frames of the episode, and I do hope that the quality level does not drop further and becomes too prominent because it will be rather disappointing.

The villain of the episode is this S&M mistress that has fake breasts. Yes, you heard me right as the screenshots that I have taken should show you just as much. I was seriously chided when she actually stooped down to the level of Yohan, trying to convince the little kid about her breasts. What? That was honestly ridiculous and in a way, it is so dumb that it becomes rather hilarious how much of a bimbo this person is.

I do not know why but I actually like the transformation of Kotono. Somehow, the dark black ink and the ink flowing down her face and her body is somewhat cool, very different from the usual style of mahou shoujo that we are used to. No sparkling stars, no nudity (ya, you sexual fiends, burn burn!) and no ribbons sparkling too. I do not mind a slight change if anything.

The villains of this show also do not feel like well, villains. There is in fact a fourth wall when the president said that they did not look good enough with villains and wanted to have a black cat that will look more like a villain, which makes me laugh because they are dressed as really gay costumes while saying it. It is perhaps this bit of silliness in the whole show that makes it a good watch.

One more thing is when the new and third character will actually enter. I hope they introduce her soon by next week or the likes because I find her to be a rather different character compared to the rest, with that cynical look in her face. Natsumi lacks character and is way too generic by all means. It is a tad boring too, since Kotono is somewhat similar as well, except for the fact that she’s a green haired neko mimi loli. That adds around +5 on the Impz’s scale of greatness lolis.

So ya, til next week.

I want to be in Yohan’s position now. Kotono is way too cute and I am so in adoration of Saint October right now. It is totally great because of the green haired loli greatness Kotono!

I have not decided whether to blog this permanently. For now, it’s as short a summary for it is 3.20 am here and do not ask me why I am blogging this now. I am in too much of a blood rush.

Episode summary

We had the news reporting of several children who are abducted by a mysterious person and the police had no idea who the culprit was. Watching the report was Kotono and Natsuki, our main two heroines of the show. As the culprit turned up, it seemed that he was wearing a magician costume, as the parents rung the police as the masked man had stolen their child.

As the police gave chase, they finally drove the magician into a dead end, only for him to escape as iron bars were triggered, locking the policemen inside. He then flew off, with Kotono giving chase. However, she was shot back by various pigeons from the hat of the magician, with the pigeons breaking her bicycle-like flying machine. However, Kotono was able to catch the face of the culprit She was then shot down into a house, embarrassed as she messed up the dinner of a family.

Back in the headquarters, we were introduced to the other characters, Kotono’s guardian, Yoshua and Koshiro, an assistant. We then see Kotono working on her computer, trying to remember the face of the culprit. We also saw the culprit talking to another girl, asking when he could stop this kidnapping and wondered why the president wanted to get a certain boy. Back to the headquarters, Kotono was working hard to find the culprit, with Yoshua telling her to rest. However, she was worried about the kids that were kidnapped and hence Joshua allowed her to. Koshiro then said that Kotono’s fate was similar to them, implying that she was kidnapped before.

The culprit was then investigating around town for the next target, as he wondered why the president would need to do such a thing. He then summoned out a card, as the card transformed him into the magician. Kotono finally rushed back home, as she saw a kid coming out crying. The kid did not know his name at all as Kotono brought him home. We then see three adults who held out cards as they changed their attire as well. It seemed that it was Sophia, the secretary and the president, probably the people that the culprit was working for. As the president checked the laptop of Sophia, he said that none of the kids was the right one.

Kotoha brought the kid home and remarked Yoshua as oju-san, even though Yoshua was only 27. The chick also teased Yoshua but was thrown out and stepped by Natsuki. It was once again referred by Natsuki that Kotono was abandoned to the church and she also could not remember her name too. Natsuki also found out the face of the culprit. The culprit then arrived from the top of the glass in the church, stealing the kid away. Kotoha gave chase with her bicycle-like machine but as they reached the ground, she was trapped by a yellow globe around her head, as she saw images of her being abandoned. However, the boy’s voice reached her as she broke through the barrier caused by the magician and took the boy back by doing a sling shot at the magician and grabbed him back.

However, the magician was about to fire a red bolt at Kotono when the boy’s eyes started to glow yellow as he pressed a card right on Kotono’s head. She then transformed into Justice as she literally kicked the arse out of the magician, repelling his red bolts and attacking him with a huge stream of black water. The magician then changed back to his normal self. We then realized that the boy’s name is Yohan as the rest reached them. We then got the news that the children were returned back by the news report.

Thoughts

KOTONO IS TOTAL WIN. She is perhaps one of the best green haired lolis that I have ever seen for a long while. She is very cute, not a tsundere but a pretty competent and likable loli. Not only that, she has a very cute voice, all thanks to her seiyuu and some of her actions are just way too much cuteness for impzie’s well being. He was literally swooning and scaring his co-blogger, Alkanphel, who had to listen to his various swooning. Here’s an example of the conversation.

Impz: WAHAHAHAHA
Impz: saint october
Impz: damn good
Impz: T_T
Impz: the green haired loli
Impz: power
alkanphelsg: O_O
Impz: OH GOD
Impz: TOOOOOOOOO CUTE
Impz: THIS IS WAY TOO CUTE
Impz: T_T
alkanphelsg: +_+
Impz: i am driven crazy
Impz: TOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE
Impz: T_T
alkanphelsg: yes i can see you’re crazy now

As you can tell from the conversation, I am sure I drove him crazy too. The first episode honestly did not have a lot of excitement but the set up of the show looks decent enough. There is a bit of magic and the use of tarot cards is somehow used before, but I do like the refreshing concept that everyone in this anime seems to be using some form of tarot card. Lucky, this does not turn out to be some clone of Cardcopter Sakura even though I definitely do not mind watching Cardcopter Kotono.

For a first episode, it was ok. It was not great nor was it bad. There are some fighting scenes but they are of the standard of a normal mahou shoujo series, aka nothing much to wow about. Still, I found the transformation of Kotono when she received the tarot card on her forehead to be very refreshing. You have to see it to understand it for yourself. That said, nothing really much is said about this episode, other than the fact that Kotono was an abandonded child. Still, the pace is rather decent.

Due to my continued swooning, I was unable to watch the show decently and concentrate on the other characters. It seems that there is yet another red-haired loli that has not appeared just yet while the yellow loli, Natsuki did not yet have any personality traits. Her cute curtsey when she said gokigenyou was pretty cute though as this is definitely a loli-infused series that will make any self-professed lolicon drive crazy with insane happiness.

One thing I do have to complain about the show is the graphics level. The graphics level, while not shabby, can be a bit off at times. I hope that this series does not degenerate into Crescent love or Gift with the graphics and stays on with such a decent level of graphical design. If it can manage that and have a rather normal storyline, Saint October will definitely be keepers.

Hope you enjoy the fast summary by me on Saint October.
