This girl is half his age. Don’t stand. Don’t stand. Don’t stand so close to me.

So after that rather quaint little camping trip the kids are back in school. Sumomo and Tsuwabuki are awkward as ever, but now Tsuwabuki is getting idea in his head. Dangerous ideas…

Tsuwabuki is under some mistaken delusion that Sumomo is hot for teacher…This is a very silly idea, one worthy of rofl cakes. I am pretty sure that being hot for teacher is nothing new in anime. However Kisaragi is not Sting, who incidentally was an English teacher, nor does he have the Police at his side jamming with him, so is sickly teacher now moe too. I hope not…

She wants him so badly. She knows what she wants to be. Inside him there is longing. This girl is an open page…

Other than that hot for teacher delusion that Tsuwabuki pulled out of his ass, Nona-chan is getting more paranoid by the day. Her dog Arthur is pretty much useless. Sumomo got past his guard. Now Sumomo’s idea that Nona and Tsuwabuki are rabu rabu, that I can see. So after seeing Nona get all touchy during the attempt at intimidation, Sumomo runs off in tears.

While Tsuwabuki is lying to himself that he does not care and Sumomo is weeping internal about being unable to speak. Keisuke and Flora-chan interrupt a Nako-chan yuri moment. Keisuke wants to be a comedian one day so he breaks into his little routine. Maybe Japanese comedy is not form, or perhaps is its much more dull, but I dearly hope Keisuke works on his act. Hey what is that clicking noise.

Her friends are so jealous. You know how bad girls get. Sometimes it’s not so easy to be the yuri friend…

Overcome with being distraught Tsuwabuki uses his Yuki-chan persona to spy on Sumomo. At least he realizes that he is being sneaky and underhanded, but as they say do as you must. Just be prepared to dig two graves. So apparently both of them have been dreaming of the other, and I must say…How did Nako-chan lose track of Sumomo? I suspect that Sumomo ran off again and Nako-chan was worried sick looking for her.

At any rate I never really thought of the spinning of staffs as anything funny, heck the Marines do it all the time, but man don’t those leathernecks look sharp doing it. So Sumomo works her magic while Asperas-san gets all giddy at the prospect of a real fight. Too bad Sumomo’s shoujo kokoro is down 60% due to first love failure. Still the music was not needed. So now that what I assume is the last stardrop has been claimed, how does Sumomo propose to take the four from Asperas-san? Since this is less violent than a pillow fight, I am guessing Asperas-san graciously gives all of hers away to send Yuki-chan back to stuffed animal land.

It’s no use he sees her. His car is warm and dry. Don’t stand. Don’t stand. Don’t stand so close to me.

So Keisuke and Flora-chan ambush an unsuspecting Tsuwabuki and encourage him to confess his feelings. It also seems that Keisuke and Nobuko are coming to an understanding aww how sweet… In any case Tsuwabuki meets up with Sumomo where she shows him a secret place that not even Nako-chan knows about. Well at least it beats out a certain lounge that I know of. Finally after much awkwardness he confesses…

Whoa calm down it’s not like you guys cause a nuclear melt down. I like how even when gripped by tension Nako-chan is bolting towards Sumomo.

I am at a loss for words. This is a girly show right? The kind that guys don’t normally watch right? So I know that this is based off and h-game, but it’s so pink, only mildly emo, has nothing on Moetan’s loli levels, and there is no evil to be seen. Which leads me to wonder who were they targeting with the onsen scene? I mean it’s a bit late I would have assumed that all those h-game players would have called it quits since the SD p0rn got edited out, so what gives? I doubt that Japan has a bunch of badly tempered blood thirsty grunts like me that shave with a blow torch. Even then I don’t think guys were even their intended audience. At any rate this camp is not like the camp I remember in days of yore…

So Sumomo and her pals are going to the beach…and they are not fishing. I am confused. I guess camping in Japan is about being on vacation rather than living without a flushing toilet. Just as well I guess. While I have nothing against any of the female cast umm… I have to say I was expecting some sort of bishie parade. Not that I wanted to see one, but this was a show for girls so I am thinking the female cast is going look dignified while guys try to woo them in a respectful manner. That was certainly not the case. Unless you think that having a completely shirtless sensei is good enough. Then again I don’t know how women think, and no one thinks like me.

I have to say that I am most relieved that they decided to flesh out the minor characters a bit more. Up until this point they had done very little. I have suspicions about guys who hang around girls, unless they are hard core geeks of course because geeks need to stick together. Still it is good to know that each and every one of these young otome know how to choose a friend. Both Tsuwabuki and the glasses seem to be decent enough blokes.

Nona’s ignorance was a bit stretched, but the way that dialog turned out reminded me of how I used to ask about Yiddish words. At least she did try and that counts for something. I guess in her magical realm the art of cooking seems to have been forgotten, such a pity…

That is correct Ensign Asperas. It is also illogical that you would be into goth loli fashion, and chokers. Though in human terms it would be considered “moe.”

Now I admit that I did watch the onsen scene. What? Just cause I watch and rave about shoujo does not mean that I suddenly become a girl. I must say it was not as bad as it could have been; only one of them was a genetic oddity. As well endowed as Nobuko-chan is, I can’t find the rage to fault her for it. My black heart cannot marshal enough hatred, as most of it was expended and now needs to be recharged. She’s a decent enough person, a capable organizer and leader, and infectiously happy. Above all else I have to respect that fact that she is not ashamed of herself like that dull as bricks girl in School Days. I do think that she is a genetic oddity, but in light of her service to her friends I can forgive such <strike>minor</strike> details. She has enough self confidence to back up her otome charm and I like characters who are confident, but not arrogant. Besides at least she has the common courtesy not to flaunt it, and I applaud her slightly conservative fashion sense. Thank goodness this show is not in the business of panty shots and that tired old English clip of “oh yeah.”

Flora-chan seems to have gotten a good share of development as well I had written her off as some quite emo type character, but I admit that I was wrong. I really misjudged her based on literally on seconds of previous screen time. Good to see that she is a confident and audacious otome as well. I like her slightly mischievous nature. Kudos to Flora-chan for dragging Nona-chan to the chopping block during your slumber party.

If nothing else this onsen showed us that whatever milkshake Nako-chan brings it hardly involved over sized gazongas. It makes me a bit curious as to what she could have done to gain the attentions of her best friend’s crush. Still I don’t want to see her betray Sumomo. Nako-chan can’t be that cruel. I think she is a smart girl and as such I sense that she at least suspects that Yuki-chan is not exactly an innocent male lamb. It is most reassuring that Nako-chan acts as a bridge for Sumomo to make new friends as well. Nako-chan you are Elite. I share her sentiment of just falling in love. While Nobuko and company are most reasonable in wanting to hold first place in a partner’s heart and list of priorities, I think love should be a connection that survives long periods of separation and is something that engenders fidelity and trust.

Me too! Mad props for having a thinly disguised yuri party Nobuko-chan. Now, now no need to be modest.

While I disapprove of Yuki-chan going to the girls’ bath at least he got to the right feeling first. Namely along the lines of “oh shit I might get may ass kicked for this.”

Speaking of their late night tea and pocky party I have to say they were not much different from guys. For some strange reason communal living for males often culminates in some sort of round table discussion. It’s not that much different in spirit, just a lot more vulgar when it comes to guys. While it was no surprise that none of them was in a relationship, I don’t think that they need to be in such a rush. They’re still in school and would do well to start planning out their future courses of action. The future is always important because you will be living in it; better make sure it is not that crappy.

Nona-chan seems to be afraid of Terran wildlife, and while very contrived I can see why she may be a bit jittery. Granted in her place I would have used my partner as bait while I hunted the hunters, for the untrained and unaccustomed not being able to see in pitch black is rather harrowing. In an earlier age I would have written off Nona-chan’s complete freezing as pure fiction, until I saw a group of engineers just freeze when a mishap (a government vehicle, for which engineers are responsible for, backed right into a dumpster, hard) occurred right before their eyes. So maybe Nona-chan is as afraid of ghosts as grunts are afraid of mishap reports. If Tsuwabuki gave her the option of being left behind, carried, or dragged I would have given him bonus points, but he never offered to drag Nona-chan to their destination…Well at least he was not trying anything on her.

Looks like Nako-chan has a new yuri pal. Huzzah!

Poor Sumomo fate liked to piss on her this time around, as her crush seems to be intimately involved with Asperas-san. Contrived is it not that Tsuwabuki assumes that Sumomo likes someone else. I doubt he suspects its Nako-chan because if he did he’d probably get giddy. I wonder how many times a sad Sumomo ran into the arms of Nako-chan, it needs to happen more often. The whole banter on the stars was sad, but as a lover of astronomy I think that it’s rather fascinating that the night sky is a sort of time machine. Still discussing the death of stars and black holes does not make for good conversation of a romantic nature unless you are talking to physicists or astronomers. Tsuwabuki pick your battles better. Next time, when you are blessed with a starry sky and someone to share it with try talking about the constellations instead.

Yeah cardigan sensei always complains how much faster light use to be. Hey where is Crow?

Adorable things calm my nerves. You know Sumomo looks like she has a mace…and is about to bludgeon Asperas-san.

Maybe it’s the general hatred that I feel regarding School Days, but for some reason in the absence of some more Moetan this series seems to be a bit more lovable than before. At any rate my hostility towards this series has died down quite a bit. Sumomo is no longer an annoying twit and Yuki-chan isn’t getting on my nerves. Then again any old doormat looks saintly compared to the hated Makoto. Well at least this is a shoujo series where mating is not thrown around every five minutes…

Sumomo gets a rude awakening when she discovers that she is not our last hope, there is another. Asperas-san has Sumomo beat, she can do high level magic while Sumomo can only pull rabbits out of her hat. I must say at first I wondered why Sumomo was crying. Don’t cry get better I say. Still she eventually got out of her little rut with some kind words from Tsuwabuki-kun.

Uh…Asperas-san you’d be more intimidating if your staff looked less like something you use to eat. Where is an Istari when you need one.

I though it was kind of sweet that Sumomo takes her mission of sending Yuki-chan home seriously. Sure it is a load of bullshit, but it is the thought that counts. Sumomo you’re alright. Tsuwabuki trying to comfort Sumomo was one rather heart tugging moment. I can start to see why Sumomo even likes the guy in the first place. Sure he came off as cold and distant, but at least we know that he can be very considerate and be a nice guy.

Nako-chan is still my hero though she’s so great with kids, and such a good friend pushing Sumomo to teach Tsuwabuki to fold paper like that. I applaud your selflessness and your dedication. As for Asperas-san I like how over the top dramatic she was. It is almost like she’s going to be a one man Team Rocket. Thankfully she at least seems competent. Poor Arthur though is worked like a dog…

Well Asperas-san you look especially evil today are going to make little kids cry or would you like to kick a puppy instead?

I sympathize with Sumomo’s inability to swim; it took me a while to get it too. She deserves some credit for overcoming her hydrophobia even if Sumomo’s near drowning was rather comical. I sort of know what it is like to face mortal terror. Heck I am still a bit afraid every time I have to go rappelling off that 100 ft. tower, though I always get down, possuming is still rather unsettling. As special training goes I find it was much more tasteful that that crap from School Days. It did look rather fitting for Tsuwabuki to be with Yuuki like that though. Then again it could have just been the sparkles. While on the subject of nearly drowning I never really noticed that the swirly glasses guy hangs out nearly exclusively with girls, I cannot help but wonder how odd it is for this sort of series. Perhaps he was supposed to be the Yaoi fodder in the game?

You may kiss the bride. Oy Veh where is the shegetz? Oh you don’t need one? That’s great. Hey honey the goyim are not meshuga.

While Sumomo is still feeling a bit inferior, Nako-chan decides to help her. Nako-chan is a smart girl with an attention to detail; she instantly sees through the silly get up of Yuuki and correctly makes the connection between that persona and Purima Asperas. Turns out Nona is a very competitive person she wants to win but she wants a challenge to go along with it. The most comforting revelation though was that this whole contest is merely a game. Thank Haruhi-sama; it would be rather strange to leave the fate of the world in the hands of Sumomo.

In regards to Asperas-san’s get up I wonder if she magically changes or if she just bleaches her hair and gets dressed like normal people? While things are going well this use of made up English is getting on my nerves. It just doesn’t sound like magic. They need to throw in some Elvish or something that sounds like it’s from Lord of the Rings. Still I guess this is but a minor issue.

Well its not exactly a contest, nobody really wins. This is just to promote a more Yuri world.

Next time the gaggle goes off camping, though using a cabin is not really camping. No guns also make this seem more like a weekend resort than camping. Kids these days don’t know what camping is. In my day we had to go on long hikes up hill through the heat and you had to bring your own canteen. They use to make us climb rock towers, shoot guns, ride a massive horse, and archery. Now they stay in cabins, they don’t even have to pitch tents anymore it’s meshuga!

See swimming is so easy even a dead guy can do it. Oh…that’s not kosher.

Hold still puny sheep creature, the anal probing has not been completed.

Well while waiting for School Days 2, curiosity got the better of me yet again, despite the fact that Moe-tan is thus far the superior mahou shoujo series. At any rate last we say Yuki-chan was getting awfully comfy in Akihime’s bed.

Yuki-chan awakes with a strange hankering for pancakes until it ever so slowly dawns upon him that this is not his room and that it is Akihime’s bed and not his. If there was ever proof positive that Yuki-chan never played metal gear or Splinter Cell this is it. He is as subtle as a deer is when faced with head lights. Fortunately for Yuki-chan Akihime awakens only to fall back asleep after being told that it’s all a dream…

Objective: Escape form Akihime’s Room. ! Assignment Failed.

So Yuki-chan escapes from Akihime’s room and goes to class. His classmates are most surprised that he has joined the gardening club. Nako-chan and Akihime arrive and no sooner do they walk through the door Yuki-chan starts leering at Akihime wondering why she acts to differently and un-genki at school.

Yuki-chan walks off and soon transforms yet again into a stuffed animal so he can snake back into Akihime’s room. However he does glean how precisely the transformation works and more importantly when it occurs. Yuk-chan steals into Akihime’s room just as she is changing into some clothes that her mom sent her. Being the pervert that he is he steals and is over awed by what he sees.

Hey there Yuki-chan. Poof. Uh…We are all for alternate lifestyles, but this is ridiculous.

Akihime spots the Peeping Tom and subjects Yuki-chan to humiliation by a thousand out fits. In the middle of the fashion show the ring goes off and its now time to get the Stardrop. Unfortunately Akihime is still green as ever and Nako-chan sees the whole thing. While ultimately completing the mission Nako-chan brings them to her home so Akihime can get cleaned up. As in his human form Yuki-chan is no Solid Snake or Sam Fisher, and Nako spots him moving. Nako-chan learns about everything and sends Akihime home.

Yuki-chan tells Akihime that Nako-chan’s memory of today must be erased. Akihime is most distressed upon learning this since she wants Nako-chan to remember doing her laundry. We then get treated to a montage of Nako-chan x Akihime loli-yuri movements. The next day nary a word is exchanged between them and Nako-chan asks Yuki-chan to escort Akihime home. It starts to rain on the way there and Akihime desperately tries to grow a few inches to place an umbrella over their heads. I fell asleep around here and assume that Yuki-chan was able to comfort Akihime. He takes off and discovers a way to preserve Nako-chan’s memories. Later that night Nako-chan and Akihime hold hands lean in and…fail to kiss.

However Nako-chan is now a trusted ally of Akihime, what challenges will they face next?

Sumomo do you remember who your promised girl is. Yep. Chuu~ (hey I can dream right?)

Impression: It is a step up from the last episode, and hopefully Nako-chan is going to play more of a role. Surprisingly Yuki-chan’s epic fails in the realm of tactical stealth makes him some what more likable in that lovable runt sort of way. Hopefully he will excise his emo state. Akihime did not cry as much this time and seems very happy to receive her maho shoujo outfit. I must say it isn’t that hideous and is passable despite the lack of Kevlar and ceramic armor.

I like how this time the emphasis was on the relationship between Akihime and Nako-chan with Yuki-chan kicked to the periphery. Hopefully their relationship will grow and next time Nako-chan and Akihime will kiss for real.

Yuki-chan can go to the 2nd level of hell. As for excitement, Jedi do not crave such things.

So I am still waiting for the first sub of School Days curiosity struck me and I took a look at Nanatsuiro Drops. Suffice to say I was underwhelmed though I haven’t passed full judgment yet. In other news I finally finished playing Overlord and sending my minions off to build my evil empire, my attrition rate however was horrendous, but being an evil Overlord nobody cares. I had a corruption rating of 15% suffice to say I give evil a good name…

We begin our story with a very emo dude who’s name is barely worth mention. He’s thinking about lolis while at the same time transposing the sayings of his classmates regarding his isolation. This provides additional proof for my theory that its the emo types who turn out to be pedo-p0rn addicts. No sooner does the lout get up that he runs into a pink haired kid named Sumomo Akihime. Akihime, it turns out, has just spilled water onto our intrepid loli-con. For some inexplicable reason Sumomo begins crying, though I suspect that the loli-con was saying some nasty things to her.

No sooner does Akihime begin crying that Nako-chan turns up to save her from the vile clutches of loliman217. Too bad that there was no righteous smiting as some sensei in cardigan rears his terrible visage. As punishment for attempted assault against Akihime, loliman217 was sentenced to hard labor in the dreaded gardening club. After drinking something strange loliman217 gains the perfect disguise for his kind of scum.

Too womanly. Too foreign. Oh this might work, so what do I fill in for the standard love letter 86-Y.

Akihime being the dolt and submissive loli that she is begs Nako-chan to forgive loliman217. Despite my howls of rage Nako-chan agrees. For pity’s sake Nako-chan you are the freaking Tomoe-chan in this series, do not allow loliman217 to gain any traction.

So Akihime goes gaga over the fluffy form of loliman217. However Cardigan Sensei takes loliman217 away and explains to him the current snafu that he is now embroiled in. So after a short bluster fast forwarded, and appropriately so since this is based off of pedo-p0rn and we all know pedo-p0rn lovers are down to a man idiots for whom words hurt.

So Cardigan Sensei sends loliman217 on his merry way…right into the room of Akihime. Loliman217 feigns ignorance of why Akihime is his chosen girl, however the point is moot he has loli-con written all over him. After running about they finally get down to business and capture their first stardrop with a freaking over sized spoon. (insert spooning joke here)

I hope that you meant you understood what must be done to undercut the loli-con stuffed animal. Nako-chan I am counting on you to save this series.

Impression: Not sure if there is anything else that needs to be said that hasn’t already been stated. I hope Nako-chan gets more proactive in forming her yuri partnership. While she gets bonus points for having a naginata, she must learn how to use it against loliman217. Sumomo cries too damn much. What the hell? Is this moe for any one or do hardcore loli-cons like tears and the sounds of girls crying? The SD was cute, but taking a look an Hinano’s blog it seems that there is such a thing as SD p0rn…

As to why fate is brown, it is brown because fate is shitty.
