As we all know, Mei is a wonderful and intelligent tsundere that knows a lot. Yes, even though she does not look imposing on the physical, she is perhaps much better in playing human baseball compared to the “Sharpshooter Mutsuki”. As we all know, the sharpshooter Mutsuki has proven her worth in softball and imparted her skills to Mei.

Let’s discover the joy of human baseball.

The rules of human baseball is simple: To hit a target and make him/her turn 360 degrees in the fastest speed ever.

Firstly, to learn how to play human baseball, you have to learn the stroke. Try to use an easy target to practice first, as we see a live demonstration by Mei on the easiest target alive, Manabi. Manabi is perhaps the easiest target to hit since she is busy in her own world to organize a strike against taking down the school festival. Add to the fact that she’s a chubby loli means that she can hardly run away.

The stroke has to be immaculate. You cannot strike it too fast or weak because the loli will not fly 360 degrees for the best execution.

The record holder for this game is actually held by Mutsuki, with the target being Manabi. It is said that it is done in a grassy field not unlike the field in Sakura High school. The speed is a magnificent 0.496 seconds for the revolution of 360 degrees.

Here, we see the continual practice of Mei under the watchful eyes of Mutsuki. Mutsuki is looking at Mei as the next big thing and she is trying to break the 0.50 second barrier. That barrier is only broken once by Mutsuki and Mei’s record time with Manabi as target is 0.502.

STRIKE THREE! YOU ARE OUT OF THE GAME!

Human baseball requires tons of practice. Be it in the student council office, the teacher’s office, at home or even in the photocopier area, you need to practice to be the best.

There is no replacement for hard work. Even our Manabi Straight characters know it.

Are you ready for the challenge to play Human baseball, the most EXTREME SPORT ever?

You made Mika cry. The cicadas are also crying. Can you hear it?

Watching Episode 7 makes me feel reminiscent on a series that I adore in the initial stages, namely “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni”. There are in fact signs that all these characters are in fact pseudo killer lolis rather than the innocent beings that we know of them. Psuedo is the word since both series have loli-looking characters that are in fact not loli at all.

Do you already sense the deathly similarities among the two series?

The blood is waiting for you soon…

Both series are similar in the fact that they often have shots of the water tap. Why? I have no clue because Manabi Straight happily spent 2+ minutes on a water tap, a slow moving baseball bat and people looking at each other. Still, both have a tap and with that, we hit the tip of the iceberg.

The similarities will get more haunting as we move on.

Remember the baseball scenes? Remember the baseball bat? You never know when it will appear.

The cicadas are here too in this series. They are out in force, awaiting the cries of the cicadas to drown out the pains of the victims.

Next, let us move to the characters. First up is Manabi. She looks to be always energetic but she suddenly suffers from Oyashiro’s curse and starts to blank out. The blanked out look is classic in the initial stages of the curse. Manabi will be the first victim.

Mei becomes Shion! Oh no!

It’s face distortion time! It’s time to fight as Mei attempts to “kill” Mutsuki!!!

Mei has the Oyashiro’s curse and assaults Mutsuki in a fury of blows.,Mutsuki tries to weaken Mei in order to cause Mei to receive the fated vaccine.

Wonderful right punch by a hypnotized Manabi. Who will win the battle of the killing fields? Sadly, no one told her that using a knife, a baseball bat or weapons of torture are more effective to hurt them. I guess Manabi Straight is a low end user of Higurashi’s methods. They are merely on the primitive level.

Mutsuki is badly outmatched by the two girls who are totally paranoid. What will she do to get out of the predicament?

Will Mutsuki become the first victim in this arc, the Manabiigoroshi-hen? Stay tuned to the next episode of Manabi Straight for the resolution of the cliffhanger.

I was wondering the previous day when Manabi Straight will actually go into some form of fanservice. When I started thinking about it, Episode 6 came and fulfilled that prophecy. I generally do not really think too much about fanservice, but the ultimate loli appearance and the innocent/subtle style of fanservice just makes it wholly disturbing. I guess the wild thoughts of an external being has introduced perverse thoughts in my mind and created an entity of disturbing speculations.

You do not believe me? Check it out yourself and try to keep a clean slate of mind when viewing.

For the start, we have the “loli-looking” characters gazing at you with their mouths wide open, as though they are waiting for you to come. They were like anticipating you to come with them, as they waited wholeheartedly for your arrival.

So cute, isn’t it (they are simply looking at the game Mei made).

Navel fanservice! Oh my! Summer is definitely for fanservice as we see the tomboyish Mutsuki giving us a glimpse into the possibility of fanservice being introduced due to the summer days of Sakura High School.

Mei joins in with some skirt flapping. I do hope that I do not even need to see a scene where the panties will show. That will hit Mamoru/Kyoushiro/Green Green levels of Ecchi-ness and I truly hope it will not reach that point of no return.

Honestly, I like this series to remain cute, not the sexually cute type.

We even have booty shaking with Mei viewing the spectacle.

That’s not all.

We even have a close angle shot. Now what in the world is this? Explicit ecchi in every expressively energetic e-schooling enterprise?

First, she licks it.

Then, she tastes it gingerly, as if tasting it for the first time in her life.

She realizes that it’s good and decides to put it in her mouth.

“It’s soooooo hot.” She says.

Swallowing it, Mutsuki enjoys the liquid flowing into her mouth as it melts.

Ya, I am talking about the process in which she is eating the popsicle. Fascinating, isn’t it?

:3-tan will be absolutely delighted that Engrish is completely displayed in its full glory in Episode 5. I initially wanted to do a detailed analysis on the message that Mei (voiced by Aya Hirano) was saying at the start of this episode but found it impossible to understand what she is trying to say. However, that is not the best thing after watching Episode 5. It is the fact that I realize Chinese fansubbers cannot write English well. I cannot blame them though, since I cannot even decipher the Engrish provided. Still, it is a little appalling.

Please see the information provided below and be astoundingly amazed how good they are at the ability of Engrish.

Note: In the following screenshots, the english is from the Chinese sub. I have to warn since something like this came through when I let Lupus take a look at it before it is posted.

[Lupus-sol] oh gosh hahaha
[Lupus-sol] wtf
[Lupus-sol] is that your translation
[Lupus-sol] or the Chinese subber’s translation?
[Lupus-sol] the English on the screenshots
[impz] NO
[impz] IT’S NOT MINE
[impz] it’s the chinese sub’s translation
[impz] ..i think i have to emphasize that

So there is a “this” that is inherently female and has a hot back. I never knew of such a species. I guess Mei does like her things to be female and that is perhaps the problem of an all girls school.

Mei tells you no lies. The “this” is female and has a hot back.

So is the “this” long or not? I am confused by the ambiguity or is Mei speaking some form of ancient parable that is awaiting to be Maybe she is thinking of

1. The length of the “this” which is female and has a hot back.

2. Mei actually knows about T.H.A.T anime blog and uses a meme to laugh at us by using T.H.I.S.

3. The male object of power. No, I am not perverted, I am thinking about the fist of strength.

I didn’t know they are studying Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Since Mei is a tsundere, I assume that she is Ma Chao since she said she is of the Shu faction, a bit anyway.

Close ser = Closer = Come close to me?

Wah, she actually means if you come closer to her, she will make sure that you will be speared by the power of Shu! I am glad I did not get tricked by her innocent looks! She’s a tsunyandere in disguise.

What in the world is a tsunyandere anyway?

She’s into lolis? Very young ones. She needs to be four, not fourteen, darn it!

Those lolicons are very scary to have the ability to influence Manabi Straight’s :3-tan!

I bet the subbers are as stoned as Momo when they are trying to decipher the English. I swear I look like that when I am trying to hear what Aya Hirano is trying to say for the 5th and finally going “Bah, the hell with it!”.

P/S: I am not dissing any fansubs because I think they are a wonderful bunch of people who work voluntarily for this. Still, bad subbing makes for good jokes and understand why Beijing is trying so hard to boost the English economy before the Olympics, right?

Technically, this picture of Mei will be classified under a “loli fanservice” tag due to the fact that they look something like 12-13. Right?

Wrong.

(And I am still in disbelief…)

First, look at the school. I always thought that the school was a bit too big for a primary school. I mean, you have all the hi-tech equipment that children should not know. Yes, you can argue that they are in the future where all the kids are insanely IT-knowledgeable, but…

Let’s review two conversation evidences.

“However, that happened during primary school right?”

NOTICE THE “happened“. It is not happens, or happen or is happening but HAPPENED. It is in the darn past, which means that they have definitely graduated from primary school.

It’s all right. That’s all right. They are still middle school students. That is due to the fact that they have just graduated from primary school to move up.

“Didn’t that happen a long time ago?”

“Well, Mei is still traumatized by it.”

That is in fact the conversation that came next but i do not want to include too many screenshots of the same thing. So, it’s a long time ago. The evidence seems to hint that they are now high school students, though it might be that for young middle school students, 3 months is a long time, right?

“The last time you are here is during the opening ceremony of high school.”

I am hitting myself on the wall a few times whenever I see this line. I am still in distinct disbelief (and alliteration ain’t awesome).

Did Mei just say high school? High school students generally range from 14-18, but they are definitely not loli characters by any chance. The fact that they are not exactly first year students (aka freshmen) meant that they are definitely older rather than younger. This is not a loli show. I think. Just when I am forcing myself to be convinced that the 12 year old-like characters of Manabi Straight are in fact lolis, this last picture nailed it.

Look at the sign of the school.

******* High School.

I have been deceived. Have you?

Today, we will explain why being a tsundere is not exactly the best thing to do in a loli-infused series (or chibi under rOr’s definition). Mei will be our example here as we exhibit three cases of why being a tsundere is not good.

Today, we will explain why being a tsundere is not exactly the best thing to do in a loli-infused series (or chibi under rOr’s definition). Mei will be our example here as we exhibit three cases of why being a tsundere is not good.

Yes, this is a post about a pseudo-tsundere.

No, this is not an entry to indirectly diss Haruhi Suzumiya, the goddess.

Yes, this is as usual a parody entry.

1st case: Being dragged to doing something silly

During any discussion of the school festival, due to the need to involve herself and act all tsuntsun toward the others, she will usually try to stake her authority with everyone in the student council. Usually, tsundere will not really care whether it is important or not, but it’s just that dominateering behavior in themselves that caused them to argue and dictate proceedings.

Enter, the sudden escapist in playing dodgeball and an extremely “intelligent” group of people who conveniently picked the only person around.

Mei, the tsundere.

Good luck, Mei. Let’s see how you will get out of this fix you made for yourself with all the pitching and discussion about being a dodgeball expert.

“I am not exactly easy to get help from. I Am not a nice person.” Mei said.

Well done for a nomination in the “Best denial and attempt to escape from duty and be AWOL” entry of the year 2007.

And if you are thinking that saying all that classic tsundere words can make her escape from the predicament of playing dodgeball.

You are obviously so wrong.

I told you, being a tsundere does not work in Manabi Straight. You go on to play nevertheless.

2nd case: Speaking is the bane of tsunderes

Don’t speak
I know just what you’re saying
so please stop explaining
don’t tell me ’cause it hurts no no no…

Yes, don’t tell her about it.

Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I’m waiting for that final moment
You’ll say the words that I cant say

Right, that you should stop being a tsundere. Tsundon bridge is falling down~

All right, lame and bad joke as usual.

The old cliche works here.

We came. We saw. We conquered the tsundere in dodgeball.

Good job, mates! Let’s see how she can get up now!

And she’s up for more!

She never learns, does she?

3rd case: No chance for tsundere escapism!

Even during your resting time, to act upon your deredere moments, you can get called up. Since tsunderes have most of their power in the face to face mode of communication, this is the greatest way to get trapped. No, not that trap.

Then, you get brought up to the balcony of the school while wearing your school uniform at night which is a fascinating thing because

1. I cannot understand why they cannot wear their normal clothes to school at night.

2. Isn’t there security at least in the school to prevent thieves from stealing the hi-tech stuff?

3. Don’t Manabi have anything else to do other than catching everyone and meeting at school?

4. And everyone ACTUALLY CAME without question.

Never mind. Hell with the realism. In with the cuteness and tsundere. So, being a tsundere is useless in the night. You generally lose powers, your energy to fight and generally be bowled over by extremely genki fat chubby lolis.

And one in an angel dress no less. Still, it’s hard to decide which chubby loli is cuter, extremely when they both have wings.

Who’s the other chubby loli with wings?

You can decide for yourself who’s better and tell us about it!

Edit: Stripey, the definitive lolicon, has spoken.

My name is Amamiya Manabi. I am the newly elected president of the student council in my school and I only have a goal in mind as the president. That is to convert all the girls in my school to fat chubby lolis like me!

Mwahahahahahahahaha! *makes victory sign*

My first plan is to convert my father, which is in shock at the abilities that I have. He has attempted to rise me up as a male chubby man. However, as I am a girl, he is disappointed but still supports my goal to convert everyone into fat chubby lolis! I must make them eat, eat and eat!

With that, I declare at the front of my school on the proclamation of my first declaration as the student council’s president.

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
I come to make you fat, not to praise skinny people.
The evil that skinny lolis do lives after them.
The good is oft interred with their chubby bones.
So let it be with Manabi. The fat chubby loli.
Hath told you Manabi was ambitious.
And yes, she is going to make you all fat chubby lolis!

NEWS ALERT: Student president makes her first announcement: TO MAKE EVERYONE FAT CHUBBY LOLIS! This is an definitive strike toward the campaign against skinny people. Will she succeed?

Yes, madam. I will join you since I am already a fat chubby loli!

Shou Ga Nai (Oh well, what to do). I guess since my various attempts to get slim has come to totally nothing, I have to adhere to your Miu + Haruhi mix of eccentricity. Being a fat chubby loli is not that bad, at least I am cute enough!

Since we have gotten all the essential members to start our conversion, let us rejoice and start to plan our strategy. We are but only four, not strong enough to overcome the mighty powers of freedom, peace and reason! Chubby fat lolis are definitely cute and hot!

Man, it’s so hard to plan on making people fight. How about we try to ban all kids to watch Super Size me and tell them that being fat is the new beauty?

That wouldn’t work, right. Sigh, let’s look at the sun and pray for divine interference.

Girls girls girls. Have you forgotten the most important step to convert lolis into fat chubby ones?

Planning, idiots!.

Collective voice: I SEEEEEE! Can we have some food first? I want to eat this brown thingy that people eat in the snow town? I heard it uses red bean paste and hence will make you extremely fat, just like a certain character in Kanon.

Let’s wait no further, we must eat in order to get fat!

Let’s go! We came, we saw and we conquered Akiko’s jam! We will persevere!

But…but….We are out of money. What do we do in order to raise the funds for this “fat chubby campaign”?

What else but to sell random stuff in a bazaar! Add some moe~, add some cuteness, add some cheap prices and you have a successful pasam malam!

Note: Pasar malam = night market in Malay.

After that successful sale, Manabi has found the funds to go on for her campaign to make everyone a fat chubby loli: with tons OF CHOCOLATE OF COURSE!

Will she succeed?

No idea, but there’s some random cute pictures to end it off. Do not ever go on a masturbate-a-thon from these cute pictures, you sick perverted lolicon!

Lolis getting fat is extremely cuddly, not ….never mind.

Stay tuned for the campaign of Manabi. Will she be able to turn everyone into fat chubby lolis?
