About The Team
The Blog
The THAT Blog was founded on August 10, 2006 by a group of avid anime lovers. The name “THAT” (an anachronym for The Anime review site that Has great fanboyism over the Almighty Megas-good Tsuraya anime blog) was initially coined by one of our founders known as Impz, and serves as the name for our blog. Whether “THAT” will always mean… well… that, will be discussed later on in the future, but it’ll do for now, haha.
THAT Blog is here to provide an insight into the various ongoing anime and manga series in the world. In addition to these two, the blog will also include opinions on games, dramas, life, and other random crazy stuff. We may be new, but we hope to provide you all with an ongoing anime blog that is informative, interesting, engaging, and fun to read and participate in. Feel free to make any suggestions that may further help us develop into a better place.
The current layout (v2.0) utilizes a modified version of the Spring theme, featuring a rotation banner including various characters such as Louise from Zero no Tsukaima and Alice from Aria.

Well, about me. . hmm. Well, the name’s Dan, but I’m also the Administrator (hereafter known as Mr. Admin) over things that need to be administrated on THAT Blog. I’m currently a 2nd year student at University of Arizona, where I’m pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering (please no more physics). Due to schoolwork, girlfriend and general activities, you don’t see entries by me very often as I tend to deal with the workings in the background. Every once in a while, you might see a random post though. . hey, I’m even thinking of what series to take up over the summer. (:Well, I’ve been a fan of anime and manga for a large majority of my life, starting with kiddy shows such as Doraemon and Ghibli movies. Some of my favorite series up to date include Neon Genesis Evangelion, GTO, NHK ni Youkosou!, Slam Dunk, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu-utsu, Cowboy Bebop, Eureka seveN, Hajime no Ippo and Studio Ghibli works. I’m an avid VDO gamer of RPGs, racers and music/rhythm games (IIDX anyone?). I love cars and dream about an SR or RBed Nissan 280z. I love music and play a variety of instruments proficiently, including piano, guitar and violin. I also love food. Hm, that’s enough of a biography don’t you think?

Impz

Impz is an university student, awaiting the application for Masters. Impz was initially on blogspot, until Mr Admin got Impz this domain in ab.net and now Impz is happily writing for T.H.A.T anime blog. Everyone said that this is Impz’s blog, but Impz feels that it is a group effort and is glad that Impz recruited all the other co-bloggers. Impz is generally decent and jovial, but is incredibly blur at certain things.That said, Impz is often clueless with anime character’s names and you should start buying Lotto or any form of lottery when you see Impz getting the right name for all characters in 3 consecutive posts. It has never happened, even though Impz has tried his best to figure it out. Also, Impz hates shounen and mecha anime to an art, and never fails to diss it in the most sarcastic manner possible. In other means, Impz’s a meanie but Impz never writes it since Impz does not know how to phrase it without getting slaughtered by Impz’s friends. Which sucks by the way.The anime blog is something Impz is very happy and Impz enjoys to reply comments whenever he can.Impz also de-stress by blogging, which is why the blog is often so active. Ya, that’s about it. However, with the entrance of a certain girl in his life (13sugars), his time is rather divided now and if he does not write, you know what has happened. He truly adores her now and she tends to go all ~Goshujin-sama~ to annoy the hell out of me. Yes, she stalks this blog and writes an editorial of “He says, she says” with me.

I first started anime blogging in May 2006 at a different site, but after a short 4 months I ran out of steam juggling uni and life. However, I still wanted a place to occasionally rant about anime related stuff, and it’s at this time that I met Impzie.The kind Impzie took me in and gave me cloths, food and a place to sleep… or something like that. You’ll find me writing about a lot of nothing, and occasionally some editorial content. Every once in a while there will be features, but you’ll never catch me writing summaries for anime episodes.I mostly enjoy series with strong elements of comedy, whatever other genre(s) they might fall into, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy good old fashioned action, romance, or thought-provoking anime (harems can buzz off and die).

Hey everyone, this is Shokkeru.
I’ve started blogging in March 2007 on my own blog on AnimeBlogger.net. After participating in a contest by Impz, I am now writing for THAT Animeblog as well.I’m currently living in “not so sunny” California and attending college, studying Game and Simulation Programming (yes, it’s a real major). I’m a real novice programmer but, I’m kind of planning on learning some 3D animation as well. I tend to like all sorts of genres in anime as long as it includes some sort of comedy in it or else I’d get bored to tears. That doesn’t mean I can’t sit down and watch a serious anime once in a while but, I mostly watch anime for its entertainment value… and by entertainment, I mean it makes me laugh. Another thing about me is that I love to play video games. I may not know/play a lot of different games, nor am I really good at them but, I enjoy playing games nonetheless. The thrice damned Yankee that was once a lowly commentor who haunted the blogosphere. The Green Haired Lord gave to him a login and password and bade him to aid Impz in writing posts. Blinded by his ignorance he accepted without question. He became one of Impz’s most terrible servants; darkness went with him, and he cried with the voice of death. Slaving away on a laptop whether in school or on a government sponsored paid vacation he has endeavored to meet Impz’s terrible deadlines to further Impz’s darkest dreams.Actually I am a college student who is not graduating on time due to signing away many years of my life in service to the US Military. I hope to be back in school, but duty calls and I don’t mind so long as pay problems are few and far between. I have been an otaku since 2000 though Sailor Moon was my first love back in 1992. I have unhealthy predisposition towards shoujo series and am very demanding of my male heroes for cowardice is not tolerated as is an inability to keep their pants on.Once in a while I’ll do a Motrin induced rant since I seem to find myself in seeing the corpsman a lot after getting the free dental care that makes me deployable. At least the meds are free. As you can tell I can’t use photoshop at all.

I started out as a commentor… And somehow managed to find myself a temporary blogger. Except that I’m not so temporary now, although to be honest I’m not particularly prolific. I’m sure no one’s interested, but my first real anime love is Vampire Princess Miyu, which I watched back among the falling leaves of autumn in Nanjing, China, 2005. Since then, I’ve been an earnest fan, although I tend to stick to paranormal and/or action with touches of romance. I’ve also recently developed an affinity with Japanese dramas.

In spite of seeing some anime, my main area is manga; you name the series, I’ve probably read it twice. Also I’m an assumed lolicon and moe for girls with short hairs so keep your Sakura and Haruhi away from me or you face the danger of me spoiling their purity.

Well I’m here because I have always been a fan of this blog and saw that there wasn’t much coverage of the shows I like. So I said hey, I can write, that’s what I’ve done for 6 years in school anyways, plus I love anime. I probably have a shorter history of anime love than many of the other writers here, as I was a casual type of fan for awhile, watching Adult Swim titles for a couple of years and eventually finding my way into the otaku world through the great invention of the internet. I’m a fan of a pretty good variety of shows you can check out my MAL for what I’ve watched and ratings. On a more personal note, I’m a second year law student here in New York City who spends what little extra money is around on anime DVDs, manga and computer equipment.

I love animes with sad endings; Mangas with lots of blood and parties full of girls(who doesn’t, right?) my favorite animes are Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade, Ghost in the Shell series, Mononoke Hime and everything that Hayao Miyazaki makes, Karas(hey, that’s where my user name is coming from!) and Darker than black and Mushishi. And of course anything-loli. I love my PS3 and feel really bad for those poor souls who happen to have a 3Fixme-oops I mean- FPS360- double oops, M$ Xbox 360. Since there is nothing to do in my life aside studying and playing computer games, I think spending my time here can help me with English despite being my first language. I’m probably the youngest member in the blog and I love anime, manga and video games (Not till an extend to become an otaku). I sometimes speak out what’s on my mind, so I don’t mind being critisized. I hate harem, but I like reverse harem. I am the one who loves RPGs and sometimes will be talking about it. With the exception of Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center: Under the Knife, I absolutely hate visual novels or eroge daiting sims. I’m in the side of shoujo, action, fantasy and the supernatural. RV’s favourite manga: Kingdom Hearts, Persona 3 (It’s damn funny and with lots of entertainment value) Vampire Knight and D.Gray Man but for now I’m writing about TTR (OVA) and VK. Hey guys, Igunis has arrived! Currently, I am a high school slacker, as my college applications have finally finished. With nothing better to do, I’ve decided to blog once again and what better place to start than Impz’s neverending harem. To my dismay, I’m a bit of a generic shounen anime fan, as any sight of character development or a deeper plot leaves me struggling to finish the series. Although, I enjoy deeper anime so to speak, the mindless action and comedy of most shounen anime seem to attract me against my own will. Nevertheless, I pride myself in not dropping many series, as I will literally strap myself to my chair in order to finish. Although shounen is the only genre that I can marathon through, I always try and watch all sorts of anime, as many of my favorites come from other genres. Also, I am against dubs of all kinds, despite how well voiced they are, as I feel that the original is always the best. When I’m not watching anime, you can find me playing basketball (badly), lurking on Facebook, or just hanging out with my buddies.
