The Blog

The THAT Blog was founded on August 10, 2006 by a group of avid anime lovers. The name “THAT” (an anachronym for The Anime review site that Has great fanboyism over the Almighty Megas-good Tsuraya anime blog) was initially coined by one of our founders known as Impz, and serves as the name for our blog. There were four original founders of THAT, namely Alkanphel, Jooo, Mr Admin and Impz. Out of these four, only Impz is left. Read about our old bloggers here in the old “About us” page.

THAT Blog is here to provide an insight into the various ongoing anime and manga series in the world. We are a diverse team blog that aims to bring you different perspectives of anime, and makes sure that good writers have a platform to expose their writing to readers who are able to interact in an intelligent manner (and sometimes fanboyish/fangirlish manner). All in all, we try to make sure that you are entertained. That’s why you are reading our blog, right?

I am … currently studying my Master’s degree of Media Economics in a university. I am generally lazy and procrastinate over every single thing that I can get my hand off. I also have a girlfriend by the online nick of Thirteensugars, who usually annoys the hell out of me. I still love her a lot, too much in fact. I am supposed to be the head honcho of the blog, but all that means is that I do most of the work that no one wants to do. I am also part of the informal TEAM BLUE network.

Most hated anime of all time – Kimi ga Nozomu Eien OR Grave of the Fireflies. I can’t decide which set of main characters I wish for them to die more.

Role in the blog – That guy who does random, stupid shit. Also, I tend to draw a lot of flame, intentionally or not.

Enjoys – Comedies; iyashikei anime that are also comedies (Yuno-sama kawaii yo Yuno-sama! \o/); Saito Chiwa and Kugimiya Rie doing loli voices; watching other people suffer.

Dislikes – Harem; smartypants; “The theme is reflected in the character’s actions, his escapist attitude… all the shows reflect the director’s anti-imperial attitude…”; you.

I am … A final year law student at the Australian National University. Stressed. A guy. Nasty. *deleted because of the outcome of a recent New South Wales Supreme Court case*. Not to be taken seriously.

Most hated anime of all time – There are so many to choose from, the above mentioned MAL has many low rated scores, apparently I rate much lower on average than other users. If I had to pick one it would be Kimi ga Nozomu Eien because I absolutely hated every single character on that show. I hoped that they’d all get hit by cars.

I am … a soldier in the pay of the United States government. I have attended UCD for way too long and hope to get the hell out soon. I am … a University student/ part-time teacher/ part-time programmer which can Kage Bunshin no Jutsu so I can do all the stuff at the same time. OMFG…did I just use a Naruto expression? *Hangs himself in a sakura tree to make himself taller*

The biggest manga enthusiast you will ever find, full-time good looking metrosexual (with pics to prove it), a bit of a hard-head and with a witty tongue trained by the hands of Guybrush Threepwood. Too bad life tends to F*ck me up good with Writer’s Block once every 4 months.

Most hated anime of all time - Ragnarok the Animation (Even though it’s MMORPG), never mention it in front of me ever again. Never touched that anime ever since and ANN has rated it a no-no for anime watchers like us.
