Heck yes, I was just waiting for Envy to show up! :3 He’s my favorite. Of course, there also is Kimbly. I cannot wait for him to make a really big appearance in the show!

Anyway, I am glad that the FMA Brotherhood is (so far) living up to the manga. Except that first episode, but ah well. (at least we saw Kimbly ^_^) I thought that the first series ways very… awkward.

I’m referring to the far out violent fanatics, not all religious people as a whole. I don’t have a problem with religious people in general.

No, but religious fanaticism is a huge problem in the modern world, much more than nationalism. That was the only point I was trying to make.

Hmm… fanatics can be religious or patriots or even ecologists. The problem is when leaders of religions, countries or organizations, say that the use of violence for spread their beliefs is fine. Also is true that avengers are not fanatics, religion, flag or security are just excuses for the never ending cicle of revenge.

The nightmare set enough well the mood for the encouter with Scar, the guiltiness, the lack of fighting spirit and the resignation to punishment. I think that they can used a lot less words and screen time. These episode talk to much, but at least is not the unintelligible talk of Gundam 00.

I consider myself religious, and I’m not offended at taking potshots at ‘evil’ religious fanatics.

Of course, part of the problem is in truly defining what a fanatic is. Nationalistic *fanaticism* killed a hundred times as many people as did all of the Crusades COMBINED in World War I and World War II. You don’t necessarily need religion to qualify.

When you refer to the religious people as “fanatics” are you talking about all religious people as a whole or simply the ones in this show. I know some people need a higher power to look for answers and strength, but to refer to them as fanatics is a little extreme don’t cha’ think? However in the case that your just talking about the ones in this anime then here here, all to true.

It was a superb episode. I just love how they mixed the humor and dark themes together without them being awkward or unnecessary.

Armstrong really demonstrated how alchemy was like a form of art while Scar contradicted that theory with his bloody deconstruction. Al and Ed brought their characters into a new perspective that despite their cool demeanor, they are still kids. Lastly, who didn’t laugh when Hawkeye tripped Mustang?

I thought the episode was high-quality kick-ass as usual, even if I liked the wet Roy scene better the first time around. Honestly, the interactions between Ed and Al were very well done, and, oh, Hughes, what would we do without you.
