Force Recon (First Impressions): K-ON! – 02

You and every one else…

Well since Lelangir did a post about the first ep I thought that I’d do a follow up as part of Spring Recon. I confess I find Yui to be irritatingly clumsy though understandable her in that her whole bout of unadulterated adoration of her new property was not unlike that I felt when I first got my body armor and all my battle rattle. Still I thought that Ritsu was mildly lovable in a Kana like manner in that she’s dragging along the rest to go wither her plans, though as a pair Ritsu and Mio were fairly funny, though the previous cameo by Krauser II has yet to be matched. My favorite though it Mugi-chan who used her Jedi Mindtricks to get a huge discount for Yui though it could have just been due to the clerks being weak minded. Now that Yui has an instrument I hope we can get to some of that music the OP and ED I thought were fairly catchy and I approve highly of Ritsu’s drum set. While not all of us can be rockstars, at least there is Rock Band and Guitar Hero. I have trouble articulating what was so great but I did enjoy the camaraderie and Mugi-chan just oozing rich oujo without attracting too much undue attention. Seriously though the best way to raise money was to have a bake sale, at an all boys school…but I suppose  this was as good a way as any to show how Mugi-chan can bargain.

Clearly Mio is frontman material, all she needs is a bit of confidence, if Negishi can do it so can Mio.

I love Mugi-chan because she’s likes TEA in her animu.

The Green is symbolic of her love for money.

What ever happened to getting in and getting out? Ah well I am a sucker for free samples at Costco too.

Jabba no bargain?!

Ritsu will now kill your Rancor…

:3

This isn’t the price your charging…

You don’t need to see my identification…

You will accept 50,000.

It’s the guitar…we’ll have to work on your fashion sense.

    Erm, Crusader-gunsou? They’re LADIES. “Getting in and out” does not apply to them. Heck, it doesn’t apply even to ladies of an actual military persuasion when it comes to a sale; Bobby & Lt. Glass can tell you that much. ;)

    lol… Tsumugi has performed at peak Macross Fold sale level with being to get the guitar at a 80% discount! A true successor to Cathy’s Sale Fu has been found!

    I knew it, those eyebrows has a hypnotic effect on people! Also, you’re the last person I would expect to even talk about this show (゚⊿゚)

    eyebrows are worth their weight in gold..or maybe more…in uranium say.

    as much as yui acts like a rare deer that has been brain-damaged due to in-breeding among her captive ancestors at the National Reserve, I must repeat this once more: there are, in my estimate, about 3 billion high school girls in Japan just like that. Just to keep things in perspective. These critters do exist!

    Yui is the best harem lead ever. I hope she ends up choosing Mio.

    MIO IS TEH BEST GRRL!!!! *foaming mouth*

    Seriously Mio is like a more sociable Sakaki-san, similar tall dark bishoujo traits and a wierd cross between a Kagami and Kotomi-chan. Mugi-sama is a close second favorite character (like an older Chiyo?)

    I’m not sure what moe demographic Yui is supposed to appeal to, she’s like a cross between Nagisa, Tsukasa, Fuuko and Osaka(!)

    Yui’s like Tsukasa with a guitar. How could anyone not love her! =)

    @Ascaloth
    But it wasn’t even a sale the first time…

    @lishan
    Indeed though I think Mugi-chan has exceeded their feats in a way, after all she just made her own sale…

    @Shin
    Really? I don’t just watch mecha…

    @animekritik
    That might explain a lot…

    @Roy Mustang
    If only…

    @Kherubim
    It seems there are plenty of people in the Mio fan club. Yui is simply odd…

    @lelangir
    And what ratio of Yui types to Otaku would you prefer?

    @Calawain
    How about we do this one together, eh?

    @RP
    I’ll love her after she plays “Smoke on the Water”.

    Where is teh Ritsu love?

  13. Posted April 13, 2009 at 9:16 am | Permalink

    @Crusader,

    My bad for my choice of words….but basically, ladies don’t need a reason to spend the whole day in the mall, not even a sale. What’s the matter, gunsou-dono, been a while since you last had to suffer bag-carrier duty for a lady on a trip to the mall? :p

    Hi Crusader,

    If you don’t mind, would you be willing to do another Force Recon for Cross Game as well? Seeing as how the folks over at ANN are giving it near-perfect marks, I’d really like to hear what someone from THAT thinks about the show, since I’ve been following your blog for a while. And it probably fits more to your interests than anyone else’s (don’t get put off by the baseball… it’s more slice-of-life romance drama than sports).

    Just a request. Thanks if you’re willing to do it.

    I suppose not, now that I think about it, you do watch Minami-ke. Speaking of Negishi, I wonder if Mio would transform into a totally different person once she dons her performance outfit?
