I must admit that my knowledge of Cao Cao before the Romance of the Three Kingdoms era is very low (which means the later period of Eastern Han and its fall). I would probably need some help from nice readers to enlighten me on some issues that I will be discussing here. Obviously, rather than talking about the story, I prefer to highlight how the anime portrays and shapes the Cao Cao in a light that is largely different compared to the stereotypical vicious villain in most drama/anime series. Also, for those who are interested in historical anime, this is a series that you should watch EVEN IF you do not know much about that time period.

Anyway, Episode 3 spoke of Cao Cao’s posting as the captain of the North gate in the city of Luoyang. For those who do not know about Luoyang, Luoyang is considered to be one of the ancient centers for China civilization. In other words, it is the capital where the emperor stays. Cao Cao is still trying his best despite his tender age (he is twenty at this period of his life) to change the corrupt government. What is the next move for this young Cao Cao who would one day be a legend of China history?

Raise your hand if you wanted to trade places with Yui.

It’s been a rather brutal month as of late, I am glad I found work of sorts but that combined with a new exercise routine and Valkyria Chronicles is starting to take a toll, I have to manage my time better and hope fully this mass upload thing will cut down on time. That said I am really enjoying K-on. At least Yui is capable of having proficiency in a single task, though her skill at multi-tasking is wanting. I like how Mugi-chan found the ultimate motivator for Yui who seems to be a slow starter. It’s kind of funny how Ritsu started the ball rolling on all this and it is not Mio who is the band leader with Mugi-chan as the stalwart second in command. I am not sure if I am the only one who thought of gang signs when Yui started to use her chord hand posture. Still it’s kind of sad that Ui and Ritsu are still in the PS2 era. If nothing else I like seeing the excellent camaraderie of this four girl fire team, it is something that is sorely lacking these days. I hope next time Ritsu plans on making a dynamic entry that she brings an H&K MP5 to the party.

Well we all knew it was coming, but it seemed to creep up on us pretty fast. The first truly fucked up part of FMA. Regardless, they did a pretty good job presenting it, and it sets the stage for a lot of later development.

Chapter 3 took much longer because there is a lot of dialogue compared to the first 2 chapters. It’s a very interesting chapter to say the very least. I urge you to read it. Oh, and I decided to be shameless and make a credit page for myself. Don’t kill me for it!

The usual statement

If you want to share this around, go ahead. Just make sure you give credit where it’s due, and do link to THAT anime blog. In addition, I am not sure how fast I will translate the manga. I am going to take my time with this, but you should see a chapter every week or so.

The question in my mind: Why is a show about old men, food and some romance so darn good?

There are some shows out there that are great, and you know why they are great. FLCL is great because it has an insane level of energy and craziness that makes your heart pounding for more. On the other hand, Simoun is wonderful because it has a very intrinsic plot that never becomes predictable and the character development is intense. Saiunkoku Monogatari’s strong and interesting plot twists are perhaps the series’ biggest strength, and makes me want to watch it.

Now, here comes a very different series, Ristorante Paradiso. I am not going to say that this series will ever reach the giddy heights of those great anime. However, from the first three episodes, it has managed to evoke a feeling that only Aria could do to me: that tranquil feeling that calms you down. That says something about this anime.

Zeus is pissed that Asura Cryin is getting more love.

So it turns out that puny humans worship Zeus because he’s a benevolent God though a God quite capable of kicking ass. Jihad-kun and Ribbons eat your heart out Zeus is not only a full fledged God with people who get all teary eyed when watching him fight, but Zeus is not afraid to spill blood and oil as well brutally tear limbs and heads off. I thought I was great how Baron Ashura was crying tears of joy at the chance to fight a mighty mecha despite having to beat around that useless Aphrodite A. Clearly the poor schmuck was so eager that he/she even ran on water to get to the target. My respect for him/her went up considerably as he took on two mecha by himself/herself. Dr. Hell was a party pooper and combo breakered Baron Ashura’s hurricane kick combo. Ah well the Ashura Corps had their first sortie and at least they have numbers going for them though against ROCKET PUNCH I wonder how long they will last. If they are smart they will sign up for the team that takes out Aphrodite A. I cannot wait to watch Mazinger Z wipe the floor with the Ashura Corps in the next episode. I like how Dr. Hell isn’t making up some BS to cover up his take over of the world he just flat out says it instead of dancing around the issue like a poncy little teenager. I did feel pumped when Zeus was fighting off an army of Gods it made me want to punch something, sadly my fist lacks a rocket motor. I find it hard to come up with something constructive to say though I suppose if I did it wouldn’t be as hot blooded that I want it to be.

Well, it seems for some reason that Modicus causes a total 500 internal server error when we try to revert to it, so you have an old-school styled theme, aka fspring, (when we first started) for the blog. Obviously, it might not be as awesome as our last theme, but I am quite sure that this intermittent blog theme will please everyone before we work on the current theme to make it look awesome.

Of course, we might take into a certain blogger’s suggestion for a new blog theme, but for now, we will work with the tons of constructive criticism for our “new” theme. Thanks! Now, I will get back to doing the translation for Gente 3 because my girlfriend is annoying me about more Gente chapters!
