Hynavian did a great post of this from a girl’s perspective, so I thought I’d complement her post with one from a guy’s perspective.
Same rating criteria too.

Upkeep – The level of difficulty in keeping the hairstyle the way it in real life. (e.g. whether water ruins the style, the amount of gel, how long the style lasts, upkeep, etc) [Insanely Difficult/ Difficult/ Normal/ Easy/ Piece of cake]

Comments – A simple cut, looks like a totally average one. Perhaps it’s too average for some of you guys out there though? It’s important to note that his bangs aren’t hyperbolically huge.

Comments – Not like I’ve seen many Asian guys keep up that kind of texture in hair. Seems fairly hard if your hair isn’t that long, but I think the bangs in the eyes would be a pain. (also see Koichi from Kimikiss)

Comments – I must admit, Gundam 00 being full of bishies, it’s only reasonable to say that you’re fond of at least one of the guy’s dew. It’d be fairly impossible for an East coast Asian guy to get his hair like that, but I’m not sure about an actual Kurd.

Comments – You’d probably think of me as a liar if I said that my hair in real life actually looks like this…only not blonde…and I don’t have bangs. I rarely comb it (oh but knot central…), but I use conditioner, and it end up kinda semi-curly like that. And, Reinhard Does Not Have A Mullet. I think I’ll have to get my hair cut one day…In any case, Reinhard is one dashing Kaiser.

Comments – Not that I’ve ever had my head shaved to that extent, but I think keeping it shiny would be hard to maintain. And the goatee, you can’t forget the man’s facial hair, which is a pain if you get a 5 o’clock shadow and need to shave twice a day. Thankfully, like a lot of Asian guys, I have nearly any facial hair so I can by with shaving my less-than-a-mustache once a week; hair on the jaw line….let’s not go there.

lol, this is great! as someone who had short hair then grew it moderately long, i’ve realized bangs are much better in theory than in reality. i envy all those characters with perfectly placed bangs that never move or get in the way of vision.

@ Hairstyle #7 – Actually, that’s what my hair often looks like after just being washed and blow-dried! It only stays like that for a few hours though, of course :p
I’m definitely a number 10, and while personally I don’t find it difficult to manage, it is a bitch when it’s windy or when trying to eat. :B

Personally, I like guys with number 7 type of hair, just not at that angle, but at the back.
If you were Akina from Yozakura Quartet, you wouldn’t worry what length or hairstyle to choose. Grow it long for the bishounen or metal rocker look or keep it short to blend in with the rest of the average looking NEETS (no offense). The possibilities are endless.

LOL@hairstyle #2. It’s definitely an out of this world hairstyle that is cumbersome to even style. Just look at the angle the hair is tilting and how is the person going to enter a taxi without messing up his hair!?!
My personal preference would be hairstyle #4 and hairstyle #10 as I feel that guys would look neat but stylish with them. Enjoyable post, I never knew that there are that many hairstyles for guys. (:
Impz lies about his hair style. His real life real hair style is really #2. sometimes he changes to #7 when he has no time for #2 and when he needs to attend a formal event, he changes to #6.

I largely ignore styling my hair in any way other than comb->pull back. It’s the beard that’s a pain to keep at a manageable length (1/2 – 1/4 inch), since I don’t want to shave it off, but I still want to be able to keep it in line.
At least I’m not Amish.
