This isn’t shoujo, Skip Beat! is shoujo, this this is an eroge adaptation the only ones who will find it romantic would be people who play these sorts of game for 100% completion and every H scene they can get, romance doesn’t motivate these people, lust does.

Maybe it will be great, but its hard to see these people as adults when their problems seem like that of high school kids who haven’t been through a real shit storm. It used to be that a measure of a man was his deeds but now it seems the more you complain the more little things a character bitches about the more “deep” and complex he gets. Perhaps this will be a good romance, but does that mean that the people involved aren’t idiots? By what insane calculus can you calculate maturity? Loving things that no one else likes? Claim that just because you are older that you are some how superior and tempered in understanding? Should we even bother trotting out concepts like maturity on the internet where there is almost no real accountability?

You’ve been around the block but in what society can a boy like the male lead even be considered a man? Does his stupidity make him cute? He seems to hate is father and yet has the gall to beg for money, while at the same time taking his work seriously to the point he over slept for almost a day, should we pity his poverty that seems to be self inflicted? Perhaps the guy can love, but so far he has only demonstrated the capacity to complain, oversleep, and misquote, I have little hope for this one, indecision will probably make him less endearing, not more so.

I think Rina might prove interesting, but I have little hope for Yuki other than the poor bullied girl who lacks the confidence to stand up to her tormentors directly. Haruka is so wrapped up in her own grief she may well be dead, she’s certainly not living. We’ve all lost family that we loved, but considering that she even has a chance to go to college I can’t say I find much sympathy for her. Given the overall lack of courage for most these characters it might easily degenerate into a sob fest to illicit viewer sympathy.

Perhaps you were blessed with better eroge adaptations, I was not nearly as fortunate. I gave it a shot, the male lead seems a bit generic, Yuki is simply meh to me, Haruka can wave her tragedy all she wants but I ain’t going shed a tear or give two shits, at least Rina seems mildly interesting if only because there is so little we know about her. I never said the show was going to sink in the post, I just felt contempt for some of them. right now it seems clear these people have emotional problems, but there was little in the way to redeem them from my point of view.

Women seem to like marrying beneath them…it’s insane. The bullies were not that distinguishable from other bitches we have seen before, such a pity Yuki did not realize she was carrying some formidable projectiles in the form of juice cans.

There’s only been a “hostile and tepid” reaction to the on the kiddy blogs whose authors have a tendency for dissing and bashing to begin with. It’s certainly no show for everybody, and it’s a good target for oblivious viewing, so that’s to be expected. Besides, the target audience is older than the average.

On those blogs who have a higher affinity to romance anime and anime boards in general, people are fairly pleased about the show. And unless the show nosedives, I see good chances for this show to become very successful and prominent.
