Shokkeru: The manga is a different beast than the anime, granted, but it's more of the execution. Dunno how long we can keep the comedy up though, as like skoll mentions the comic suffers the Cerberus Syndrome in the most current volume...

1) Takako looks so sexy with her hair down
2) I was extremely aroused by the closet scene where she fans her legs

@Crusader: I think I barely missed the whole Betamax vs VHS era. However, I don't really remember much of my childhood anyway.

@Kaitune: Well the reasons for watching Naruto or Bleach are probably different than watching a show like this. So far I've been simply happy with all the comedy that they've provided us and the main story has taken a backseat since then.

@Kaioshin Sama: Perhaps... but based on another comment, it was probably safe to place Sony's name in the show.

@Dop: Yeah, I don't know about a whole series. Maybe just an episode or two would suffice.

@SoSo/Karin lover: Not exactly. Steve probably never had to deal with roaches or "radroaches" for a matter of fact. But yes, he was a great man and shall be missed.

Akiba is simply a Sony fanboy. Even if the product is a failure, he would support the company 100%.

I've noticed that Takako has been the only one to have a hairstyle change so far in the anime as well.

@ubic: Very interesting. Thanks for pointing that out.

@FFVIIKnight: Haha. Sorry about that. I have a bad habit of pointing out everything that catches my eye no matter how disturbing it is.

@Ties: You certainly know your stuff, but I think Sony could still throw them a few bones for their loyal service.

@Kazearashi: No problemo.

@FlareKnight: Well it's not surprising that Jin doesn't have a DVD player. He's just a high school boy living on his own. A DVD player would just be an unnecessary luxury.

@Halcyon: That's one of the main reasons I like Tsugumi so much. I can't remember a time where I didn't laugh every time she does something off to the side.

@skoll: I agree that Akiba's voice acting could be better, but I'm pretty much satisfied with it. There were times that I really liked it like when he yelled out "Mikuriya" and smacked him upside the head. His outbursts are pretty well done and overall I'm okay with his voice actor. I think the times where he's supposed to be talking really quickly was kind of odd too, but it might have been better that they slowed it down so we could actually pick up on what actually he's saying. Oh and the "moe" part was great and one of my personal favorites.

I consider Daitetsu to be a background character (along with Shino). They don't bring much to the table, but the add on to whatever is going on usually.

@Myssa Rei: I've actually tried taking a peak at the manga itself and I have to admit that I really prefer the anime in more ways than one. Not to say that the manga is bad or anything... I was just not as impressed as I hoped to be.

Galge-playing girls for the win~! And really, Takako should appear more with her hair down.

The episode was very amusing for a filler, meaning it pretty much preserved the spirit of the source material despite being an anime-original.

I love this show.

Though I disagree with Halcyon. I prefer Tsugumi, or maybe Takako (maybe even Jin for play catalyst to Nagi's jokes), to Akiba at the moment, mostly because I remain unimpressed with his voice acting, though I feel his integration is still good, as is nearly everything in this show. Like that one time he was supposed to be talking really fast. But he wasn't. He's still cool, and the gay moment was excellently done.

The only thing I have to gripe about is Daitetsu, who continues to give a largely unfunny show, in my opinion. Also in part to his boring voice acting. I hope he gets more interesting.

An interesting point of note, on mangafox someone uploaded chapter 36, where apparently drama happens. I hope to god the anime ends before that point, because come on! It's so good as it is.

Despite the fact that this was a 'filler' episode, it was hilarious.

Akiba has quickly become the funniest character on the show (next to Nagi).

Akiba has to be one of the best side characters I’ve ever encountered in a comedy anime. “It’s a Sony” will probably live on in the hearts and minds of all the Kannagi fans and probably all the Sony fanboys out there as well. If not, I will certainly never forget Akiba’s epic words.

I could not agree more. I busted out laughing when he gave the thumbs up and said "It's a Sony!".

Also, I don't know about anyone else but I really like how passive-aggressive Tsugumi has become. It makes her character much more interesting than just the bland nice girl next door. I hope she continues her guilt-ridden biting remarks with Zange and Nagi.

God that was a fun episode though. I almost fell out of the chair as well when the girl got hit by the truck. Was so completely unexpected. That bread really did get some nice animation. Might not be a bad series if they kept the animation to that level.

Have to wonder about technology with these guys. Jin is still recording stuff on VHS...Then Akiba brings in a Beta-Max along with a Blu-Ray disk. Does no one in that series have a DVD player? Of course was a lot of fun when Akiba showed up. That hug scene was ummm something. Have to agree every time I think about this series that line "It's a Sony!" will just pop into my head.

Zange made the episode a lot of fun as well. Not often you even get the water bottle sweating :). No matter what happened it was definitely enough to take Jin out of the picture. If this wasn't a comedy you'd almost think they were at a crime scene with that much blood.

@SoSo/Karin lover
Poor Steve. That really was a sad thing to hear about. Still haven't been able to watch an episode with him in it.

"I wonder how much money Sony gave them for that shameless plug."

Probably none since Kannagi is animated by A-1 Pictures which was founded by Aniplex which was founded by..... Sony. It's more like the Kannagi crew is kissing up to the boss. XD

I laugh myself really hard when i found out that Akiba brought a Beta-Max tape instead of a VHS tape. Good lord man, Beta-Max been dead for over 25 years and he still has a working copy!? I have seen lots of stores selling cheap VHS tapes nowadays but never have i encountered a Beta-Max. Either their commemorating this great but failed product anniversary or using it as excuse on how dumb Akiba is.

I think im in love with Takako-sempai, no only is she cool, she's also a suspected bisexual or just a lesbian Fujoshi with a great fashion sense. Love what she did with her hair.

Akiba must be the ultimate Sony fanboy if he still had a working Betamax recorder! That was completely unexpected.

I suspect there'll be a Lolikko Cutie episode as a DVD extra. Although I think if they went the Kujibiki Unbalance route and made a complete series spinoff that would be stretching the joke a bit too far.

Looks like the days of Somy products in anime are officially over.

@Crusader: Too bad it was one of the biggest media format flops in history that is still studied for the misteps Sony took to this day. For the home video market people knew they could get a better value in recording time from VHS then they could for Betamax, not to mention it was far more practical if you wanted to tape more then a few programs in a night. Tough lesson for Sony, but they'd eventually come back to win their next format war with Blu-Ray. True story.
