About Tsugumi’s strange animation, that’s what I have dubbed “over-animation”. Apparently, when some studios actually get a large budget, they like to blow it all on unnecessary character movements in the first few eps (and it looks as weird as if they weren’t animated at all). Then, we get to put up with little to no animation for the rest of the series. Ah, but such is our lot in life…

@TheBigN: You’re absolutely right. It’s just that well… I liked the pun bits from the first episode a lot better than I did with this episode. I’m just worried that they’re getting a little old or something.

I’m with TheBigN, I used to work with someone who made awful puns all the time and it never comes off smooth. It’s awkward, dumb, and borderline embarrassing for anyone in the room. In my opinion, it was nailed. I hope the clichés don’t come rolling in by the truckload when school time happens, or at least that the fun execution can carry us through that.

Honestly, I like the puns, but something about the delivery in this episode was kind of off.

I think that was kind of the point. Puns are awkward, and it’s supposed to be an awkward moment when they are used, and especially when Nagi responds as she does.

I love the following scenes:
1.Nagi accidentally super gluing her wand dead-center on the table. Nagi’s silly and stupid antics (LOL her attempts to cover them up is cute. Using split personality as excuse?? This is so-lame, but somehow it works. LOL).
2. Jin carried around girl’s panties~ (LOL it’s dirty, if it is already wore before)
3. Reference to Dragonball and her reaction. (LOL, she want to make some badass wish, probably directs to ~ you know ^.^;)

Familiar but funny episodes…

PS: They didn’t censored the “breast fondling” scene. LOL

@Vin-nii: They almost has me believing the double personality thing. Pretty funny though how it turned out to be false.

@jiff: The bed smelling was hilarious… I almost fell out of my seat. Okay, not really, but it was funny.

@JadeMatrix: Yeah she does say “cute childhood friend” so at least she understands how cliche she is.

@TheBigN: Honestly, I like the puns, but something about the delivery in this episode was kind of off. Hopefully, if they continue to use them, they’ll hold the same impact as they did in episode 1.

I may just need to rewatch the episode, but I’m pretty sure Tsugumi mentions how cliché her role is. Or at least she refers to herself as a ‘cute childhood friend.’

I don’t know what to think about this show. The first episode was kind of meh, but it ended on a high note. This one was the same - I wanted to turn it off about halfway through, but I stuck it out, and now I’ll probably watch the next episode as well. I love how Jin is turning out to not be the typical wimp, but some of the stuff he does is a bit strange - smelling the bed was a WTF moment for me. Panties, gross but I get it, but the bed? Nagi’s personality is kinda weird, but she’s super cute so that makes up for it.

Aw, c’mon, you knew the childhood friend character was unavoidable, especially since Jin even mentions her in his flashback (he caught the impurity-cum-spider to scare her with) :P. I’ve actually found the show to be rather charming so far, despite being rife with clichés. A big part of it, as you pointed out, is due to the appeal of the characters. That and I’m a sucker for mikos and archaic speech :).
