Gundam 00 S2 – 02: Saji and the Ring of Power

Today marks a glorious day in Azadistani history. The Federation after years of investigation has finally put Mariana Ismail under arrest. For over four years her misrule of Azadistan had reduced a once well off population into an army of starving beggars who live under constant terrorism. This is change we can believe in. Kataron says that we are being unjust in arresting her for graft, but all I have to say is… YES WE CAN. – Federation President 00bama.

You have heretofore read public sentiment in your newspapers, and Lasse Lies, that live by falsehood and excitement; and the quicker you seek for truth in other quarters, the better. I repeat then that, by the original compact of government, the Federation had certain rights in Azadistan, which have never been relinquished and never will be; that the Kataron began the war by seizing forts, arsenals, mints, custom-houses, etc., etc., long before Mr. 00bama was elected, and before Kataron had one jot or title of provocation. I myself have seen in Egypt, Azadistan, Lebanon, and Jordan, hundreds and thousands of women and children fleeing from Kataron’s armies and desperadoes, hungry and with bleeding feet. In Beirut, Alexandria, and Jerusalem, we fed thousands and thousands of the families of Kataron soldiers left on our hands, and whom we could not see starve. Now that war comes to Kataron, they feel very different. They deprecate its horrors, but did not feel them when they sent truck-loads of soldiers and ammunition, and Realdos, Hellions, Tierens, Enacts, and Flags, to carry war into Turkey and Israel, to desolate the homes of hundreds and thousands of good people who only asked to live in peace at their old homes, and under the Federation of their inheritance. But these comparisons are idle. I want peace, and believe it can only be reached through union and war, and I will ever conduct war with a view to perfect an early success. – Sergei “Wild Bear” Smirnov

I see my Leutnant has really grown up. She looks much more womanly now.

Not to be a bother, but where Patrick I thought he’d be here by now…you know where Katie leads Patrick follows.

Mein Oberst still looks lovely even after four years, unlike her counter part she has made much wiser decisions about her post war lifestyle.

Four years since their last act of terrorism the miscreants of CB have gathered once more to kill more people in the name of Aeolia’s dream (or rather everyone’s nightmare). The millions they killed then were not enough to realize their ambitions and they have rejected the Federation due to the landslide election of 00bama because no one wanted to elect the untried Wang Liu Ming who was caught stuffing ballot boxes and whose racism was made plain after their first debate when she called 00bama, and I quote, “That Nigger.” Unwilling to wait for the next election like good citizens the CB terrorists instead build new armaments to wage war and manufacture lies of every sort in order to ease their guilt and shame. Jihad-kun strikes an unholy bargain with the rats of Kataron in order to depose the rightfully elected President 00bama and place himself as the Gundam Emperor of Mankind.

I miss her hat…rather I still think she belongs in that lovely AEU uniform.

Mein Oberst Katie will now be mom to Soma, may she upgrade Soma like she upgraded Patrick. Oh as for Andrei, we shall test his mettle as son of Wild Bear first…

I take it Sergei has not talked much about his son…

However the Federation has not been idle since their founding, and Federation Army has sent mein Oberst Katie and Soma to keep and eye on Bushido Bob and Darth Louise. Katie suspects that the A-Laws are keeping too many secrets and with the help of Soma she hopes to verify some rumors about the elite A-Laws. While Katie and Soma were in the mess hall they tried to be cordial with Bushido Bob because he had gotten a little unhinged in the past four years. Katie had hoped to get Bushido Bob a customized FLAG instead but it seems that Bob had declined and then proceeded to write a haiku about Gundam. Soma just felt that Graham Acre was truely dead from his heart break over the loss of his FLAG and was now some cosplaying hentai that drank cheap instant coffee and kept staring at her lewdly without so much as a hello. Both felt that Graham needed a new FLAG. When asked about his mask no one seemed to know why he wore it… he wasn’t mutilated or anything he just seemed to like the mask. Apparently it was one of the seven mysteries of the A-Laws, why Bushido Bob had a mask, the reason behind the strange Ahead, why Prince Ali was still driving a cab, why Louise was there, why no one called Wild Bear, where Captain KFC gets his rations, and where is the AEU Ace Patrick. Andrei remains an unknown factor despite being the son of Wild Bear. Kujo, aka Sumeragi, has been spending the last four years drinking and of those two years shagging Billy at the same time. Setsuna destroys her hideout by blabbing out to Billy that they are with CB, clearly information security under a Jihad-kun regime would be notably lax if non-existent. Grabbing the drunken ‘tactician’ of CB Setsuna leaves Billy behind to clean up the mess and the bill for four years worth of hard liquor. Jihad-kun called it an intervention and thus declared that he would no have to pay for any damage done during his visit. Such policies are the hall mark of CB who wrought untold devastation upon the world and never once paid the bill, they even tried to file damages to their equipment as a write off and charitable donation in their last tax return, which was 210 years ago.

Homer disowned Billy for being a loser…isn’t that right Bushido Bob?

Pfft…Lassie learn to lie better, that’s under 20 and it was more like 50 dead and it was one incident, which was a prison riot. Still even if it were 14 nothing beats the crime you are commiting right now by given Saji a padded room, a Haro, and loli room service…

That was always her problem thinking with her breasts and not her head…looks like they got downgraded too.

The drunken bitch Sumeragi not only has been shagging Billy Goat for the past 2 years, but in the years following her last defeat at the hands of Wild Bear and Katie, Sumeragi has not exhausted her stream of lies. She claims that little has changed when in fact many things have changed for the better. Under the Federation the three old power blocs united and now solve their problems through diplomacy rather than with saber rattling, the Middle East was under going a flowering of change with Mariana Ismail being tossed into jail for mismanaging Azadistan, keeping it’s people dependent on Federation Aid which she stole to build more palaces and pay for her satellite TV, and allowing the country to be a hot bed for terrorism while she sat in front of the TV instead of handling affairs of state. The quality of alcohol has improved, but because Sumeragi is so used to drinking booze that did not pass quality check she never knew how awesome a real bottle of Jack was.

WTF? Unemplyed losers should not be allowed to drink, Billy you have been spoling the bitch…

What Sumeragi is a dude?!

Jihad-kun the negotiator, suffice to say Roger Smith has seen much more employment…

While der Fuhrer Klaus claims that the Federation has been monopolizing energy, the prices have remained fair and stable, but Klaus longs for he days of oil and charging over 9000 Euros per liter and misses his days as oil mogul where he lit Cuban cigars with 500 Euro notes while he sat on his golden toilets with his BFFL Alejandro Corner. Kataron wants a free ride and wish to reap the benefits of the solar elevators without paying the taxes to maintain them. Instead they have opted to steal Realdos, Flags, Tierens, Hellions, and Enacts to try and seize the elevators for themselves. Not limiting themselves to grand theft of mobile suits, they have also created terror cells within the Federation in order to better harass Federation citizens. Fortunately Federation authorities have been cracking down with ruthless efficiency against this fifth column. Member states have joined the Federation to share the burden of cost for maintaining the elevators and guarantee their access to affordable energy, but the rogues of Kataron wish to pollute the Earth with their oil based economy and restore OPEC under Klaus and his squeeze Shirin. Clearly Klaus believes Global Warming to be a myth and that fossil fuels are the wave of the future. Everytime i hear der Furher Klaus talk of oppression I am reminded of the words of Federation President 00bama, “I am 00bama, and I’m here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? ‘No!’ says Klaus, ‘It belongs to the lazy.’ ‘No!’ says Setsuna, ‘It belongs to Gundam.’ ‘No!’ says Mariana, ‘It belongs to me.’ I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose…the Federation, a world where the doujin artist would not fear the censor, where the otaku would not be bound by petty finances, where the grunts would not be constrained by emo wangsty young aces! And with the sweat of your brow, the Federation can become your world, as well.” It is easy to see why so many have joined the Federation and stayed out of the Middle East quagmire. Still I hope Captian Planet kicks Klaus’ loot’n and pollut’n ass.

Oh finally a FLAG, still I prefer them black and piloted by guys name Acre…

Well they did build it…and it’s not like you paid for it…How cruel of them not to give lazy people hand outs, how cruel of them to earn enough money to keep the system in a decent state of repair?

Oh fucking build one yourself or invest in wind power, the Federation does not give hand outs to those who refuse to work and earn a living. Get a job Klaus…

The crimes of Kataron and CB are not limited to tax evasion, terrorism, public drunkenness, child labor, vandalism, murder, and theft; they have also committed one of the greatest crimes of the century in keeping Saji alive. Not only is his so called “cell” more like a padded hotel suite, he also get loli-room service and free Haro internet. Saji lives like a king while the poor oppressed denizens outside of the Federation in places such as the hell hole of Azadistan starve and die of exposure. The hateful Wang Liu Ming has also been trying to play Ribbons for a sucker but she severely underestimates Ribbons if she is relying on Nena for her muscle. Soon Prince Ali will be brought into the employ of the Federation and my lord Prince Ali will finish the job he started four years ago by killing Nena and sending her off to meet with her brothers, IN HELL. Despite Ms. Wang’s illusions of being an agent of chaos her name is already on Prince Ali’s raep and shank list after calling for his cab as a prank. Very soon shall Prince Ali make his triumphant return to kill Lasse to the point that he cannot be brought back and he will kill this new Lockon because my good Prince has declared that Feldt will be his warprice.

Indeed how dare the Federation stop the killing in Darfur! How dare they give Somalia a stable government! This Federation is so “morally bankrupt”…for the record Klaus supports the Janjaweed Militia.

CB is run by a clique of rich bastards who answer to no one. This is just one of the many mansions owned by Ms. Wang, under CB the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer, just look at what they did to Azdaistan…

I still think Ribbons and Renge will fuck this bitch up…any one who keeps Nena around is obviously stupid.

The A-Laws attack CB and Ginin proves that Tieria is still a loser as Ginin’s inferior Ahead was able to go toe to toe with Tieria’s fat ass beam spammer Gundam. Sadly many GN-XIIIs and one Ahead were lost to Sumeragi’s hax (or what they call randomly firing off their superior weapons, and calling it tactics) and that infernal TRANS-AM BS. Thankfully despite the loss of many fine pilots, it was not a total massacre as Ginin survived and the A-Laws proved themselves to be no pushovers. Had there been no TRANS-AM Jihad-kun would have died and Ginin would have wasted Tieria. After the battle CB celebrated how they had better technology to make up for their suckage and Lockon Mk II was introduced. While Feldt was ready to jump all over Lyle, Tieria is holding out, but in then end he too will be added to Lyle’s tally. Their next mission appears to be breaking that rapist Hannibal Haptism from jail along with that Poverty Princess. Nevertheless the A-Laws and Federation Army will not allow CB to do as they please without a fight, already Soma and Darth Louise have been sent to bolster the guards, it is hoped that Soma leaves Haptim’s heart broken and unable to function.

Guess what Ms. Wang Ribbons sees all, and he has the A-Laws to your Nena.

It came to me. My own, my love, my own, my… preccciouss…

There is one other who knew that Louise had the Ring. I looked everywhere for the creature Saji, but the enemy found him first. I don’t know how long they ‘tortured’ him, but amidst the endless screams and insane babble, they discerned two words. SPAIN! LOUISE! Three Rings for the HRL-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Euro-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Union Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the Moon of Luna where the shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,
On the Moon of Luna where the shadows lie. – Captian Ginin

Impression:

Well I still think Kataron is up to no good with their rather poor excuse that the Federation is monopolizing energy and using its control to keep member states and shut out non-members. Hell the founding governments of the Federation paid for the construction of the solar elevators, they are not obligated to give Azadistan and the old OPEC nations a free ride after they were gouged for oil in the past. If they want some of that solar energy they could still just join the Federation and help foot the bill to keep those elevators working, but no they go on and use terrorism to secure their energy supply instead of paying for it like every one else. They are free, they just chose to starve, nevertheless they need only stop bugging and bombing the Federation about giving them a hand outs, and stop inserting terror cells within Federation territory if peace is what they really want. The way I see it Kataron is made up of douche bags who don’t want to pay taxes but still want access to social security and public health. Freedom doesn’t mean you get free shit, but that’s the angle I am getting from Klaus. It’s kind of hard to swallow the allegations of Federation dictatorship when 00bama is elected and there is a standing council made up of member states. If government by Mariana Ismail is what Kataron wants then I have to say only an idiot would want to be ruled under such an ineffective leader such as that. All Princess Poverty seems to do is waste Azaditsani tax payer money on trips around the globe for a few bags of food and sit in front of the TV instead of filling out paper work or otherwise trying to find a solution to her country’s problems. It doesn’t matter if she is a nice lady, she sucks at ruling a nation and four years on under the Federation she is finally deposed. That is not a bad thing my view it’s an improvement since Princess Poverty could not improve the standard of living four years later, heck in another four years the only building that would have stood would have been her palaces.

Go Ginin! You’ll be this series’ Machida yet!

Don’t worry Louise once you are under Katie’s command she will make a woman out of you…

Sadly none of the CB bridge crew were killed…

We still have to go on their word that the Federation is being dictatorial when all they have done so far, that we have seen, is kill Kataron members and arrest Mariana Ismail. Going after Saji isn’t what I would classify as a high crime against humanity, besides Saji was hanging out and getting chummy with a known Kataron insurgent and Saji was accepting their aid and going off with Setsuna. Until I see this so called “pressure” on outside states even if Lasse starts declaring that millions have died since the A-Laws were created it can easily be dismissed and more CB lies. Right now the A-Laws haven’t gassed a whole colony and seem to have a more surgical streak to them rather than a propensity for random massacre. I wish the Sunrise team would show me how bad these A-Laws are instead of just telling me through their opponents. Right now the only thing we can be certain of is that the A-Laws keep secrets, arrest incompetent dictators like Poverty Princess, are gunning after Saji, and are keen on stopping CB and Kataron. Wiping out a prison riot that was under way isn’t exactly like shooting non-combatants given that these Kataron terrorists were trying to escape. Also I still hate this A-Laws name, they should just make it Arrows instead. It would not surprise me if Kataron and the A-Laws are merely different dies to the same coin though sine Lyle seems to be the smug spy type.

It’s crude…

…but effective.

If only…at least these A-Laws have courage.

I am a bit disappointed that they had to use Trans-Am hax to save CB instead of making it more tooth and nail. Certainly Ginin should have been able to hand Tieria his ass or have one lone GN-XIII point something at the bridge instead of having the guy sit idly there to enjoy the Gundam 00 light show. Still at least the A-Laws did not get steamrolled since that beam dispersion grenade was neat trick even if Gundam 00 can cut through everything. Ginin is still alive and hopefully he will be the Machida of this series. I am glad he left Louise behind after her last screw up. I still can’t wait to see Katie and Soma swing into action, but I grow impatient with regards to their holding back of Prince Ali. I am sure Patrick will show up sooner or later given how he follows his Katie every where she goes. No doubt much fun wil be had when he tries to get another Katie Kiss for his good behavior. While we have seen Graham as Bushido Bob I hope they plan on using him better this time instead of making him late again. Having Ginin lead the grunt war against CB is well and fine, but I still want to see the Feddie Aces Bushido Bob, Prince Ali, Soma, Wild Bear, and Patrick take on CB sooner rather than later. These guys need no introduction and certainly by now, since CB has been confirmed to be active that Bushido Bob and Prince Ali ought to be at the tip of the spear. Overall it was still a good episode since the Federation has proven itself to be rather likeable given how they finally put Mariana into a jail cell (if they were evil they would have simply shot her), while CB gets to prove that they are rather evil in giving Saji a hotel suite instead of a cold dank cell where he belongs.

Stupid TRANS-AM…

I am the bone of my gun.
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood.
I have created over a thousand AKs.
Unknown to death.
Nor known to life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So as I pray, “Unlimited Gun Works.”

Soma’s got a gun…

Calawain’s Fanboyisms

I can’t believe they didn’t ask the Bear to come fight for A-Laws, he’s got plenty of anti-CB experience. His son is a bit of a dick though, and by the OP imagery I would find it extremely hilarious if he’s hooking up with crazy Louise by the end of this thing. I think the space loli is reserved for pedobear.

Sumeragi has turned into such a drunk whore that not even Billygoat wants to deal with her. How far she has fallen, from being the de facto commander of CB to being not even good enough for Billygoat. Disgusting, and I’m not talking about her saggy rack. And for a supposedly secure and secret group, CB sure has lax security, as Setsuna revealed himself and Sumeragi as top CB members to an A-Laws commander. At least, I assume that’s the “Commander Katagiri” other characters have been referring to. I could be mistaken though, maybe it’s his daddy.

And thus the way is paved for Saji to pilot his own Gundam! And maybe he will kill Louise and not realize it was her until after so he can emo away some more! I would like to see him find out that Nena was the one who did that to Louise and then have a nice chat with her.

So the new Lockon is working as a pseudo-spy for Marina’s ex-maid and her boytoy. Although, the goals of both groups coincide for now so I don’t foresee much in the way of conflict between them for now at least.

She may be older now, but she’s no less crazy…and still hot.

I find the whole head on the back of the mobile suit thing to be a bit creepy.

The new mobile suit is pretty neat overall, Setsuna is an entertaining pilot to watch at least. From a practical standpoint though, having your engines out on the edge of your shoulders like that is probably a bad idea. Having them out on the edge makes them vulnerable to being sliced off, and mecha shows generally enjoy showing pieces of machines hacked off like that. Having the engines centralized behind the pilot at least ensured that if the drive went so did the pilot. But this is Gundam, and the laws of physics and military design don’t really apply.

Poor Billygoat got his poontang taken away.

I was wondering if Marina would do anything this season, and it didn’t take long for them to bring her back. I wonder if she’s holed up in the same prison that Allelujah is so they can both be rescued next week.

Good stuff overall this week, still in the re-introduction/gather your party stage though so I’m not totally satisfied. Looking forward to getting back into the meat of things when they start their fight against A-Laws and a pissed-off looking Ribbons.

    @ Halcyon

i kinda like the fact the fact that Ali is a opportunistic, cunning and devious pilot, it’s makes him more believeable as a character, he’s knows when the odds are in his favour, when to attack, and when to retreat, and he also knows where to attack from in order to press the advantage

all the ‘ace pilots’ in Gundam, and mecha anime as a whole can grouped into one of four combat styles, steamroller, bushwacker, sniper, and plugger

Steamrollers are aggressive types who favor in-your-face frontal assaults, raining blows on their enemy to keep them off-balance. Experienced pilots can almost always dodge a frontal attack, but if you keep pressing the attack, sooner or later they might slip up and take a hit.
Char, for all his acrobatics, basically sticks to this tactic.

Bushwhackers are cunning, devious pilots who eschew easy-to-evade frontal attacks in favor of taking potshots from the rear or other blind spots. When engaged in a duel, they try to wriggle out of it and drop out of the enemy’s field of view so they can come in from another direction and catch the foe off-guard. Frequently, bushwackers will sacrifice spare weapons as decoys, distracting the enemy so they can ambush them from behind.
Amuro Ray and Anavel Gato are masters of this technique.
As was Norris Packard, a major enemy in 08th MS Team whose Crowning Moment Of Awesome seemed designed specifically to show how much more dangerous this form of Ace was compared to “standard” soldiers.

Snipers are similar to bushwackers, but lack the skill to escape a duel. Instead, they hide behind asteroids and colonies, popping up to take potshots at their targets, and try to avoid close combat and running battles at all costs.
Camille Vidan, a textbook example, frequently has to be rescued by his teammates when he gets stuck in a duel and can’t get away to launch surprise sniper attacks.

Pluggers – for want of a better term – are defensive players, who manage to stay calm and collected even under continuing attacks from bushwackers or steamrollers. By continually dodging and deflecting enemy attacks, they can tie up otherwise dangerous foes in time-wasting sparring matches, and may even be able to sneak in the occasional counterattack.
This tactic is typically the province of secondary characters like Emma Sheen and Mavette Fingerhut, but Victory Gundam hero Usso Ebbing also fits the profile.

Many real-life fighter aces used tactics that broke down along these general lines. Boelcke, Immelmann and Manfred von Richthofen himself were all strict tacticians who disdained fancy aerobatics as a fools errand, insisting that combat was all about lining up the shot. By contrast, aces like Lanoe Hawker, Frank Luke and Richthofen’s brother, Lothar, were insanely aggressive, disdaining tactics in favor of brutal, reckless all-out attacks. René Fonk would stalk enemy aircraft for hours before striking, and was such a good shot that he once downed six enemy aircraft with a mere 56 rounds- making him both a Sniper and a Bushwhacker. Werner Voss was both a steamroller and a plugger- in his final fight, he began by engaging eight enemy planes single-handedly, and then managed to not only keep attacking, but keep one step ahead of all of them before finally being brought down. “Pluggers” are more common in reality then fiction, as many dogfights are decided by who makes the least mistakes.

in the case of Gundam 00
    Setsuna and Graham are steamrollers
Ali and Allelujah (or more accurately Hallelujah) are bushwackers
lockon stratos is another text book example of a sniper (no brainer really)
    and tieria is a plugger

while i cannot speak for crusader, i can say that my reason for liking the bad guys is that they are generally far more interesting characters (and often cooler looking) than the good guys, they are also the catalyst for the events to take place and without them you wouldn’t even have a story now would you. if prince ali hadn’t been around, jihad-kun would probably be living a boring and average life herding cattle or something rather than ‘becoming gundam’, and both he and lockon probably never would’ve joined celestial being in the first place.

hahahahhahahah!!! now you mentioned that ‘ali al-sachez’ name to me, guys. To me i’d really don’t like Sachez bcoz how he become the useless PRICK i’ve ever seen in my life till my life turns out to be LIVING HELL. i mean i can’t even eat @ sleep all bcoz of that happens since then. You know i’ve been trying to fight my feelings to get over all those issues of SACHEZ in the message boards but now he’s back in season 2 and i’m PISSED right now.

    @CJ
But I’m sorry my friend, Ali does have the highest named kill count in the show

Uhh.. 1 of the characters Ali killed was a civilian, not even a combatant so that doesn’t even count. Another one was completely defenseless and unarmed that he shot in the chest while pretending to be an ally.

So, really, the only “combat” kills he has are Lockon and Johann Trinity. A whole big ONE more “named” kill than Setsuna. That really isn’t impressive, especially for someone who’s supposed to be a “badass” villain.

characters in a gundam show then honestly friggin Kira Yamato would have the highest fucking kill count I mean 2 seasons of him pressing a single button and wiping out entire armies come on I think you haven’t watched it but if you admire the destruction of helpless grunts with the push of a button then there you go.

I haven’t watched SEED or SEED Destiny because they’re garbage. I won’t have a clue as to what you’re saying if you bring it up.

Plus even if Ali is a coward he still could take on (sort of) a gundam with uber hax GN particles with a cheap mass production enact so coward or not he still is a great pilot.

Oh? Is that why he ran from the Gundam Thrones? Is that why he hid behind rocks in the final battle? For someone who has such “great” piloting skills, he sure seems scared.

Who ever told you that running in the middle of a battle field with uberhaxness screaming and taking on 1000 people all by yourself is brave think again.

By yourself? He had a full squadron with him during the final battlefield and he sent them ahead of himself while he hid behind a rock. That’s not “great” piloting.
There’s been at least one other occassion in which he sent his squad in ahead of him to, basically, die while he stayed behind and then joined the fight after the fact.

He’s a sorry excuse for a villain and I’ll be glad to see him get axed by either Lockon or Setsuna F. Awesome.

Also besides the gundam battle you can’t confirm that Setsuna has been in the front lines when he was a child all we know is that he joined Ali’s group killed his parents and that battle that we see he fell in love with Gundam 0.

Well, the OPening of Season 2 pretty much shows Setsuna fighting as a child. And the first episode of Season 1 also shows Setsuna fighting as a child. There are numerous clues that Setsuna was a front line soldier in Ali’s camp when he was a kid.

For all we know he was running around scared to death with a gun in his first battle and Gundam 0 came in and saved him.

That wasn’t his first battle. See above.

Setsuna just makes a good anime a traumatized teenager with uberhaxnes. Sure what Ali does is cheap and underhanded but that’s war to ya there is no honor there is no mercy there is only a Winner and a Loser and victory must be achieved by any means necessary.

LOL If you think victory is achieved by any means necessary then why do you complain about HAX suits? If anything goes doesn’t that mean HAX suits also?
You can’t say it’s okay for Ali to do whatever he wants to win, and then complain about Celestial Being having HAX suits to win. It’s either all or nothing. You have to pick a side.

What CB does is also nothing short of underhanded taking uberhax suits and throw the world into turmoil to remake it.

Every Gundam, since the first Gundam has had hax suits and teenage pilots. Amuro Ray was a 15 year old engineer in the first Gundam before he got his Gundam prototype.

Sure it’s a good idea in theory you get rid of the military and people will learn to solve the problems another way but we all know this is impossible as humans we will always fight.

The idea behind CB was not to dismantle the military. It was to prevent Wars. CB only intervened once there were armed conflicts. They didn’t go into peaceful countries and try to take away their self-defense force. They only attacked countries that were ALREADY fighting to STOP them from fighting.

Everyone will live happily ever after. So LONG LIVE CB MAY YOUR UBERHAX GN PARTICLES MAKE GN RAINBOWS OVER THE WORLD AND WHEN THE GN PARTICLES FALL ON EARTH MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY AND FORGET ALL OF THEIR PROBLEMS. Ali just needs to be around to reduce the cast size so the ending can be a lot more precise. As long As there are less than 10 named characters left I’ll be happy. There probably won’t be.

As long as Setsuna F. Awesome rains delicious TWIN GN Particles all over Ali’s face I’ll be happy. ^_^

That and some delicious fan service would make this series 10/10

The problem is that Ali isn’t interesting at all. He’s a mercenary. He has no other motivation for being involved other than money. He’s a very shallow character and as a villain he’s pretty lame. Alejandro Corner and Ribbons were/are mysterious characters with more complex motivations and methods. That makes them interesting characters to watch. Ali is really just a plot device for Lockon and Setsuna. Other than that he serves no purpose. The entire reason he exists is to make the other characters look more interesting by comparison. Hell, even robohomo Tierde looks interesting compared to Ali. If Ali was the evil version of James Bond in the show, it’d be different but he’s not suave or cool he’s just some bishounen written in to pander to the yaoi fangirls.

    @ halcyon,

while yes i’ll admit he’s in it for the money, to me Ali also seems more interested in fighting (or more accurately killing) for the sake of it (as evidenced when he deliberately told kinue about the GN drives, who he was, what he does and why he does it so he had an excuse to shank her in an alleyway) he could be definded as a psycho for hire, like during the plan to capture the gundams by wearing them out, if he was in it for just the money alone he would’ve offered his services for a price to any one of the big 3 powers like a whore, instead he used his foreign leigion identity to get in, effectively avoiding getting as much pay as he would from a mercenary job, but on the flipside gave him a better chance of taking on the gundams, and the fact that he used used the aggrissa’s plasma field to torture setsuna while slowly killing him also hints to a sadistic side in ali.

of course, a simpler example would be to view him as an expy of gauron from FMP

yay! I win the “something about the world needing to change will happen this episode”

I really like how this 2nd season opening. For some reason I like the characters more….despite that they haven’t really gotten any moments to shine.
Oh yeah we need a doujin with Setsuna dragging Sumeragi who is complaining like a child

Well my only complaint with this episode was “It needs more Soma” then I saw the episode preview and stopped complaining.

“Not only is his so called “cell” more like a padded hotel suite, he also get loli-room service and free Haro internet. Saji lives like a king while the poor oppressed denizens outside of the Federation in places such as the hell hole of Azadistan starve and die of exposure.”

Not to mention his suite has NO GRAVITY, lucky SOB.

I don’t know about you but I think Ali has something to do with whats going on behind the Fed’s, bet it’ll be an awsome thing to figure that out.
And by the way, the 00 gundam has a shield that splits in two and can be attached to its gn drives for better protection, not like it’ll need any in the first place, they can generate their own GN field anyway.
