Despite being a baseball fan/player, I have always stayed away from the sports anime genre because of mostly identical/cliche plots and a mockery of sports. One Outs however is completely unique, its deep and you don’t have to know baseball to enjoy it.

Very excited for a subbed release by anyone for this series. I’m not sure where people got info on CLAMP being in charge of character designs, but I do know for sure that One Outs is bringing in the veteran team of director, scriptor, and character designer of Kaiji and Akagi. If anyone has seen Kaiji or Akagi, they can attest to an intense, dramatic, and psychological screenplay. With all the new repertoire of series coming this fall, I hope this One Outs gets subbed soon. Unfortunately I know for a fact that subbers will usually pick more commercializ- cough, I mean popular series to start with LOL.

@Jiff: Strangely enough, the body proportions are actually all right for a CLAMP production. However, the face design is clearly CLAMP in work, so there is at least something positive out of it. I am actually ambivalent about Madhouse works, which fluctuates from totally awesome to total junk. That said, I think this series might be in the former category rather than the latter category.

Well, for one, this is using baseball as a background for the story rather than the full thrust. It’s still worth a watch. I got to start writing on our collab. I have been so @_@

@Lucky: Heh, perplexing is always a key element in mystery. This has tons of that in bundles.

@cat: Go check the main website of this series, and you will understand my misconception without watching the anime.

I was implored by my girlfriend to watch Mouryou no Hako, despite my superficial reluctance to watch it. So that all of you know how ridiculous I can be at times, I disliked it because the cover art looks yaoi and there is no females in there.

It looks yaoi and no females? No offense, but I see nothing but females in your screenshots; enough to make me worry whether Mouryou no Hako is a yuri… ^_^;;

so far the op of this series is awesom the best one that i hear this season and one of the few ones the really seems to fit with the series ,as the series its self it’s good mystery nuff said >:).

Well, despite my usual dislike of CLAMP character design, you have sold me on Mouryou no Hako. Madhouse is great, and I’m just going to have to get over those angular faces and disproportionate bodies >< I like the idea of non-traditional storytelling, as it sometimes makes it more fun to try and guess what the deal is all about. As for One Outs – I don’t watch live baseball, and I’m not about to start watching anime baseball ^_^
