@Impz

Funny... That's how I like my male protagonists in seinen... Anyway, I got around to actually watching it, and while I wasn't incredibly off-put, I'm holding out on calling it 'good'. There were definitely times where, as a male, I was rolling my eyes at the obviously inserted eye-close-up-and-husky-voice-swoon-moments and I didn't think they made the best of the setting-- and there's a lot of promise to be had with the setting.

I did like the chemistry though.

@Lucky: I pose the question to my girlfriend on shoujo series where the girl is not a damsel in distress. She has yet to get back to me about it. I tell you when she can name me a heroine of that frame.

@Skoll: Arr. that is actually a very interesting observation. If anything, I think part of the shoujo charm is to have very strong and dependable male leads so that the females who read/watch it can swoon all over him. You do not really want a spineless crap guy in a shoujo series. that is why most of the guys are either aggressive or cold in shoujo.

@Soso: read also: my girlfriend.

@Elva: Heh, read lucky's reply.

@Dana: I actually read your comment to my girlfriend and she died laughing at it. Awesome stuff.

@Briar: heh, where did you go, auntie? I think that part of the strong pull of HakuYousei is its good chemistry. I can feel that the two are going to be a very interesting pair.

@Blist: This is actually a pre-air episode, if I remember correctly. The first true episode (with the OP) should be appearing soon. My girlfriend wanted me to sub this, but I am so lazy and my ability to translate is quite the fail. So I prefer not to mislead poor sheep.

hmm, I still want to see more of the story line, which I hope to see in ep 2 as well as more proper OP. not just arranging cut scenes from the episodes. Anyway, the sparkling attack is so funny, hahaha.

@Dana: yeah, I wish I can watch it subbed too... still any hope for us? T-T

I repeat, I like Edgar (Edward??) better with brown hair. He looked really ditzy in blond.

But I agree with all the points made on the chemistry and the seiyuus. And if nothing else, the eye candy-ness only would make it worth looking, at least for a couple of episodes.

Also note how shoujo guys are usually semes while shonen guys are ukes...I guess it is a general fantasy to have someone else make the first move.

I hope to watch this when it is finally subbed,...sigh. I guess there isn't enough interest.

He looks like tamaki. I'm still not sure whether I should watch this. BTW, is there any good shojo manga where the heroine is not useless and whinny and spineless? Other than skip beat.

If shoujo has anything good about it, its that, ironically, it's male protagonists are more competent than their shonen counterparts. Shonen seems to emphasize that the primary male protagonist is some sort of loser 'but a nice guy' (durr durr) witout any real merit, and even though shoujo males are generally absurdly effeminate and perfect to a tee, at least they aren't /spineless/.
