Gundam 00 S2-01 – We never broke the law! We are the A-Laws!
I love these ships, sadly there doesn’t seem to be a name yet, so I dub thee Dauntless.
It’s been less than a decade since the Earth Federation has united the world to oppose the Gundam menace and the CB dictatorship of Jihad-kun. Things have not changed the Earth Sphere does not want a world run by a washed out recruit who failed Prince Ali’s Summer camp program. No the Earth Sphere will not tolerate a world where we must turn over all of our hard earned wages upon Princess Poverty’s feeble hands as she builds palaces to her own further her own arrogance while the rest of us starve through her mismanaged economic policies. Now cowardly deserters from the abolished militaries have taken up arms once again to oppose four years of unity, change, and progress. The hateful losers of CB have decided to once again threaten the Earth with their interventions along with their Kataron cronies, we must oppose them through the might of the Federation we shall finally see the CB hegemony destroyed utterly, and forever free the people of the Federation from fear of intervention.
If Kataron wants eternal war, well and good; we accept the issue, and will dispossess them and put our friends in their place. I know thousands and millions of good people who at simple notice would come to Proud Colony and accept the elegant houses and apartments there. If the people of Celestial Being think different, let them persist in war four years longer, and then they will not be consulted. Four years ago by a little reflection and patience they could have had a hundred years of peace and prosperity, but they preferred war; very well. Last year they could have saved their Haros, but now it is too late.
All the powers of earth cannot restore to them their Haro slaves, any more than their dead Johann, Michael, Lichty, Christine, and Lockon Stratos Mk I. In the years of peace that followed the righteous slaying of Celestial Being’s last capital ship the world has changed for the better. During this age of peace Wild Bear and Soma have been living together to better enjoy the peace and quite that was long denied to them by one jealous ex-boyfriend by the name of Haptism. Sergei is none too sure about the new A-Laws unit and mein Oberst Katie agrees. Oberst Katie informs Wild Bear that she will join the A-Laws and pass any information along to Sergei. Soma is still not sure about marrying her former superior, but Sergie is more than willing to wait. Meanwhile in his terrorist cave der Fuhrer of Kataron, Klaus, is plotting with Shirin to usurp the Federation presidency from the undermesch President of the Federation Obama. However Klaus needs more minions and accelerates his plans to free war criminals to bolster his forces.
Today on COPS Federation Police take down a CP ring.
You are under arrest you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of A-LAWS. You have the right to an interview with Oprah to confess your CP crimes.
Feddie cops are on the case, but what do you expect for the money we make? Whether in a car or on a horse we don’t mind using excess force…
Saji, now without his Louise, is wasting his time working slowly on a government space colony collecting checks for 2 hours of work a day. Fortunately because the Department of Homeland Security has improved greatly since the sacking of a certain brownie comes forth to arrest Saji and Miyasaka for possession of CP. The two resist arrest but armed with the terabytes of CP as evidence that was found in their personal files their guilt was all but assured. It was later confirmed that they were both part of Kataron, a network of pedophiles who do not forgive, who do not forget, and have over 9000 members all of them raping children. The offenders were sent off to a penal colony to work off their crimes and hopefully rid them of their pedo ways. Unfortunately Kataron forces were intent of attacking the prison and setting loose all manner of criminals, rapists, pedophiles, and the like. Acting quickly the A-Laws evacuated all the guards and sent in automatons to quell the riots and stop the enemy infiltration forces.

Thus did the Kataron Terrorists waste the last surviving Virginia-class Carrier that served as a museum to the heros who died fighting CB four years ago.
The ghost of Tomino gives us some Tachikomas with attiude.
Unfortunately Jihad-kun and Saji escaped as Captain Ginin was hard pressed in fighting both Kataron’s Realdos and CB’s Gundams. Fortunately Setsuna was humiliated when his Exia was chopped to pieces by Ginin and his unit. Louise Halevy contributed only a Realdo to the kill count but froze up from the sight of the Gundam that killed her family so long ago. Ribbons is happy to see Exia again, and that Setsuna is still making threats to people. Jihad-kun and Tieria have a man on whatever talk before Saji rudely interrupts and starts pointing a gun as he cries unmanly tears. Suffice to say the coward lacks the will to use his weapon. Tieria proves to really have not changed in 4 years and insists that CB had not killed any one in error during the last debacle. News of the return of the Gundams spreads quickly as Graham is elated to hear the new, Sumeragi gets out of her drunken stupor and fat stomach, and Sergei meets his son again who has come to take Soma away. Ali hopefully has been stalking Lyle and will no doubt relish in the opportunity to kill another Lockon Stratos to his already splendid kill count.

Impressions:
Well it was an excellent start but right now I can’t seem to fault the A-Laws on what they have done so far. It’s not that they aren’t killing but rather all they have been doing is slaughtering Kataron traitors and convicted felons. Sure we are supposed to believe that Kataron are the good guys but right now their objectives are not clear. Are they fighting to bring back the old world that existed before the Federation or do they have some beef with the A-Laws? They seem to be on the run from the regular Federation Army as well but why? Right now I don’t see the A-laws gassing protestors and the like, so its hard to ignore that so far all they have been doing is killing combatants and rioters from a prison for terrorists. Still at the very least Kataron offers an avenue to see some older Mobile Suits in action, still they could use less Tierien and a hell of a lot more Flag. The A-Laws certainly have some sweet cruisers that remind me a lot of Battle Fleet Gothic Sword class Frigates and Dauntless-class Light Cruisers, but with much cleaner lines. I love their automatons which are very much Tachikoma’s with attitude.

I hope when Prince Ali shows up that it will be with a bang and a lot of death. I can’t believe that Sumeragi had fallen so low, as to shack up with Billy Goat though. New CB ship just doesn’t seem as cool to me as those Federation Swords, maybe I’ll learn to like it but right now it just doesn’t wow me. Louise’s first sortie was okay she got one grunt kill but cowered upon seeing Exia. Right now it seems as though Andrei might be able to get Soma and Louise, but I hope Louise ends up killing Saji before Ali kills her in turn. Not sure what happened between Sergei and Andrei, but no doubt Sergei’s time with Soma has not gone over too well with Andrei. Hopefully Prince Ali will be able to make his way up the A-Laws ladder and use it for his own nefarious purposes to make Setsuna cry. Not sure if Ms. Wang can outwit Ribbons, but my money is still on Ribbons. Good to see that Oberst Katie will be taking a prominent role as Sergei’s eyes and ears inside the A-Laws, still where is Patrick though? I am sure he would follow his Katie no matter where he went, and hopefully pat will be taking some lessons from Ali in order to meet A-Laws standards. Graham is looking rather tacky right now, since the mask is unnecessary and the horns on his helmet make him look rather comical at the moment. Still it was a great start sans Saji’s crying I hope they keep this momentum in future eps.

Well Setsuna looks quite manly after all these years, it’s kind of hard to call him Jihad-kun now. I know Crusader has an unbridled hatred for Setsuna, so it will be my duty to fanboy over him as much as possible in order to piss off Crusader by calling Setsuna GAR. I look forward to the opportunity over the next six months, secure in the fact that the primary protagonist has a 95% chance of winning.
Looks like Saji is still a whiny little bitch who doesn’t understand how the world works. Bring the dead back? Sure Setsuna will get right on that. I love the look Setsuna gives him, the stoic: “are you fucking off your rocker?” I found Saji more useful staying in the gulag pushing rocks around. But now he gets to hang out on the Ptolemaois? Say it ain’t so Sunrise.
A-laws? What the fuck is an A-Law? Arrows sounded a lot better, and they don’t even pronounce the “A” right. It’s ok I guess, they had to come up with some shady organization to be the new antagonist group. Louise being a pill-addicted nutcase member of A-Laws is really rather amusing. I guess Ribbons keeps her there for the lulz.
I thought the first episode of this new season was a pretty solid start. There was a healthy dose of action with good animation quality, and a re-introduction to a good chunk of the primary characters from the first season. I’m looking forward to Setsuna getting a leveled up mecha to pilot so he can start kicking some ass.
I promise you, as the official THAT protagonist fanboy that I will stop at nothing to ensure that said protagonists are properly fluffed. I will mock the fact that the Bear wears a sweater and has become a lolicon. I will point out that Graham is the latest in a long line of crappy masked characters, except this time he is sexually attracted to Gundams. I will try to ignore the fact that Sumeragi is banging the Billy Goat, which makes me want to vomit. I will cheer at their victories and weep at their losses. Long live Celestial Being, because it’s hard to find anything more hilarious then the way the Japanese pronounce Celestial Being.

That was quite entertaining…to watch and to read.
Graham could use a less crappy mask (now wait and see them make that mask look cool after I’ve typed that…just not this particular time), Ribbons still weirds me out far too much to take him and his “friends” seriously, I don’t know how the hell Setsuna survived without running into A-LAWS (ugh) or Celestial Being much earlier…but the rest of the series is looking good enough, as far as picking up right where we left off last time. Great action, great music and new subplots to follow.

Wow I liked how they started the second season they sure aren’t waiting for anything. My only complaint is that I think the whole Saji thing was rushed.

Fuck you Sunrise, just fuck you. But atleast one positive thing, this might be a good stress reliever so I can get angry at this show over and over again. Good thinking Sunrise!! Instead of trying to create something usefull and fun to watch you´re freaking half of your fanbase out and then you only in the second ep and you´re still reviving characters that you so elegantly killed of in the first season.

Take notes, This is how mecha shows are done right.
Simple Introduction of main characters, main antagonists clearly identified and heart-pounding action that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go.
Just when I thought the mecha series has gone into the dustbin of anime history, Gundam avoids the pitfalls of earlier entrants into this genre (I’m looking at you Macross Frontier) and shines with a brilliant and concise first episode.
Easily the most anticipated show of the fall. I can’t wait to see how the story will unfold over the next few weeks and how old and new characters mesh in this 2nd entry in this series.
Hopefully Sunrise won’t fuck it up like they did Geass, but so far I like what I see.
And that’s coming from someone who usually avoids mecha.
On a personal note, I love that Shirin abandoned her post as Marina’s babysitter and has become a full blown revolutionary. Between her, Nina Trinity and Wang Liu Mei I’m expecting BIG things to happen.
The only annoying character I could find was Saji Crossroad, more like Suzaku Moralfag 2.0. Hopefully, he and Louise (aka Rolo) will be blown to smithereens in the first 6 episodes.
There’s nothing worse than completely useless secondary characters that do nothing but suckup screentime from the main characters. I can already identify at least 5 characters that should be killed off!

In the first series it was shown that the original Lockon Stratos was named Neil Dylandy and he had a twin brother called Lyle. They even show them visiting the graves of their parents. The new Lockon Stratos is obviously Lyle Dylandy, Neil’s twin.
Oh this is going to be a fun ride. Loved the episode. A-Laws as an organization is doing some dirty stuff, and no doubt Kataron is up to no good as well, but I doubt either of these two will be the ‘Final Boss’. Ribbons and his Fag squad on the other hand…
Also, I find it hilarious that some people still think that Lyle is Neil. Next thing you know, people will start thinking Christina and Lichty are alive cuz they’re in the Op/Ed thing. Does no one pay attention anymore?
By the way, Crusader may hate Setsuna Jihad-Kun Seiei, but even you have to admit it was pretty cool watching him blow stuff up. Fun stuff all around. Couldn’t have been a better first episode. (even Saji. His tears of sorrow are delicious.)

OH LULZ. I say, this is zeta better than Macross Frontier. I at least understand what’s going on. And it was quite obvious in S1 that Bear-san was going to become Loli I just wasn’t just sure if they were going through with it. As predicted, Lyle is going to be the next Lockon Stratos, but I’m thinking he doesn’t know about Neil yet since he may have believed him dead (it’s just sad that the reunion has to be when the latter is already dead *sigh*). Thumbs up to Sunrise for Setsuna and Tieria’s character development. At least now they’re a candidate for having love lives. *nudges Setsuna* Oh ho ho, you little dawg. Please don’t mind me hinting the pair offs.

So that Louise will have a new commanding officer, perhaps Andrei? Imagines Andrei and two members of his harem (Soma & Louise) forming a team. 
Louise is giving me so much Stellar vibes I’m screaming like a emo madman. I find it incredibly stupid Tieria and Setsuna are calling each other by their full names; should have just said either Set-chan or Tie-tan. Also calling Lyle to bang Feldt and Tieria at the same time in the next episode.
Crusader: Ah, that I can understand. But why if she got her hand back did she continue with Saji? Both are all alone and are in deep need of some “lovin”… so why not throw all those clothes away and embrace their feelings?
And she can´t see differances between the true CB and the fake ones? Oh God.
Now what I can´t wait for is to see Setsuna´s final mech as he´s prone to get atleast one more upgrade. Along with Graham getting the other one.

The most intriguing part of the first episode had to be: What was the question that Soma is still considering?! Getting adopted by Sergei? Wearing more revealing clothing around the house? Going on a blind date with Andrei?
I appreciated the shot of Hannibal Haptism, who is strapped down so he can’t keep flipping his freaking hair from side to side and pretending he is someone else. Speaking of masked men, Graham’s mask is kinda silly, but I feel him for rocking the samurai armor look. At least I hope that is what he is going for…
Tiera-ko and Ribbons was good, Ribbons seeing through Louise’s eyes was better, but Sumeragi stuck with Billy was best of all!

I’ve checked the official sunrise website (http://www.gundam00.net/story/index.html). They called it “アロウズ”, which translates to ARROWS. =)

Zentari: They got upgrades, Setsuna first got his sword, then he got the let´s call it armour pack and with Exia basically useless he has to get a new Gundam.
Which will sooner or later be destroyed and then he will get his final and best Gundam ala Gundam Wing…

If all the sub groups have translated it as A-Laws, and if wikipedia (yes it’s unreliable, but who cares?) also has it written as A-Laws, then chances are, it’s A-Laws. Blame the seiyuu’s horrible Engrish instead.
Ah I caught the raw of ep 2 live, and Gundam 00 is quite an amazing mech. Sure it’s tech hacks all over again, but how many Gundams can spew out something that looks like the Lifestream?
