First time commenter, yoroshiku~!

I haven’t read the novels of this yet, but from the first episode it seems promising. I usually don’t go much in for slice-of-life style anime, being much more of a traditional CLAMP fan. But this one got me, and I don’t know why. Maybe it was the fact that they took a clichéd topic (people are different than they look, omg norly?) and seemed to run with it pretty well. I laughed out loud several times.

Oh, I also loved the “palmtop tiger” thing, and the fact that it actually made an appearance in the ED. But then, I’m a sucker for cute animals.

LovCom ran along a similar line, although different in many ways, but it was hilarious. Toradora, the bar has been set high, but you may be the one to turn me into a lolicon. Think you can do it?

LOL…you certainly have a high opinion of male leads it seems…or maybe your expectations have gotten pretty low. Though I kind of see your point with the Shana/Yuuji and Louise/Saito comparison, I don’t think you should generalize so much.

Having said that, I certainly hope those two have more unique personalities than the aforementioned couples.

His mother reminds me of one of the characters in Kanokon. Other than that, Ryuji reminds me of the main dude in Angel Densetsu sometimes. Pretty good episode.

Taiga’s voice is a bit strange for her character. Guess I’ll get used to it soon. Ryuuji is my favorite character so far with his talent with chores. lol I’m curious if he thinks that his Inko-chan is cute…. what a taste = =

I’ll keep watching it for few episodes and see if I’ll put it on my list or not.

I enjoyed it, but I do prefer the manga designs, in particular Ryuji. I’m a little bit disappointed in J.C Staff for that. Where the frack did his nose go? Taiga fares better, but I still prefer her manga version too, its a little bit more polished.

For some reason I also expected the whole thing to be a bit brighter if that makes any sense. I guess the colors just seem drab to me.

The pacing was good, the voice acting was good on the whole I enjoyed it and won’t let my disappointment in the art stop me from watching it.

I have to say, after seeing a couple screen caps, I was incredibly intimidated by the switch in art styles from the manga to the anime.

However, after seeing the first episode, my fears were alleviated. Maybe it’s how fluid it is, or the film grain-like feel to it, but I was certainly impressed with with the art and animation. The pacing and overall feel of the setting has been improved as well, as evidenced by the dynamic angles and fish-eyed lens effects.

Certainly surprising.

While I have no doubt eventually it will devolve into the usual filler escapades, I can’t help but feel cautiously optimistic about this one.

As I read the manga only after I watched the first ep, I thought the anime was actually better. IDK, it the manga, Taiga just doesn’t seem scary, and when she tries to, they make her seem just beautiful and intimidating so the way she acts doesn’t make sense at all. But in the anime, she’s truly just obnoxious and it seems more fitting of her character. (I read some scans after I saw the first ep).

Yes that bird is extremely ugly and disgusting but that is what makes it really funny how they expect the bird to say something only to be disappointed and how the bird just sound as it is dying with a “pah..” as well as drooling.
