*Shudder*
Well, I’m really not sure what I think about this episode, it left me more scratching my head then anything. I think we all got trolled again by Sunrise. So, the final boss was the badass villain because…he’s apathetic? I mean, have you ever heard of the primary villain being a lazy guy who doesn’t care all that much and only plays the game he’s sure to win without much effort? Strange, and almost as strange as Nunally’s eyes.

The OotBK without Lelouch gets played by Schneizel until the very end. How sad it is. I find it amusing they advertised Xing Ke as some guy who is as strong as Suzaku and as smart as Lelouch, yet he gets out played by Schneizel constantly and completely. Ougi I understand because he’s portrayed as a moron, but Xing Ke is just a lolicon now.

Who cares, save it for the epilogue

I always thought Toudou was smarter than all of this too, but I was wrong again there. Just goes to show you how ridiculously charismatic and cunning Schneizel is. It appears Toudou will at least survive this though, and hook up with that blushing woman who’s name I don’t know.

Tamaki actually manages to delay Suzaku for like 5 seconds, but unfortunately it looks like he is going to live through it all too. Once again, quite a shame that the writers missed a chance to kill off more characters. Tamaki is just a waste of airtime.

Supameido, we salute you!

Nina is somewhat redeemed, or at least the writers attempted to redeem her. In the end, instead of being a crazed tablehumper she became much more rational and realized that she was responsible for FLEIA and thus had a responsibility to stop it the best she could. Thinking rationally is actually a rare trait for characters in this show and thus I was pleasantly surprised.

As much as we all would have liked to see a final makeout scene here it was not to be. This isn’t Macross so this is about as romantic as the show is going to get for the lead characters. It’s ok though, I’m sure they’ll make out in the end, and live happily ever after on Jupiter or something.

Really, I generally stopped caring about Kallen. This season they have raped her character so bad that I say fuck it, go ahead and kill her off. Seriously, she has turned into a complete and utter retard who all of a sudden hates Lelouch. She stood by him through all the betrayals and lies of the first season and a half, knowing about everything. But now, she decides she has to side with Schneizel and kill Lelouch? What kind of stupid character development is that?

This is certainly a first, Schneizel’s angry face.

I really have no idea why Gino is fighting against Lelouch at all. Is it because he killed the Emperor? He seemed to be adamantly against Schneizel’s coup d’etat and was under house arrest as a result. But hey, now he’s cool with Schneizel and just rages at Lelouch. And he knows of Damocles and what it’s intended to do, yet still…More retarded character development, or lack thereof.

Just so you guys know, I’m now totally cool with her dying by the end of this too. She’s become worse than Euphemia, because her idealism and morality have been so corrupted by her ignorance of Schneizel that she desperately wants to kill Lelouch. Lelouch, the brother that actually stayed with her and took care of her for all those years despite her disability and their circumstances. How’s that for family loyalty, eh?

Orange-kun, fighting with his storm of loyalty and pimptasticness until the very end. Man, you are one of the few characters who have drastically improved in likeability over the course of this series. In the beginning you were kind of pitiful in a really humorous way, and at the end of season one it was laugh out loud humorous. But now you are just completely awesome, and your storm of loyalty will be remembered for all time, and will be passed down to your future children with Sayoko.

This fight was nowhere near as delicious as I had hoped it would be last week. I think part of that has to do with the destruction of Kallen’s character, because a fight over Lelouch’s affections would have been hot. Instead Kallen just rages around and beats her soundly through a better machine and more experience, acting rather cold throughout. I did enjoy C.C.’s reactions though, I missed that kind of C.C. during the moe moe phase we had for awhile there. She’s got a reason to survive now, for that promise Lelouch made that made her change her mind about giving her code to Charles. She looks mighty sexy in that screenshot, mmmmmmm.

Sayoko, you are one awesome liar. It is highly unlikely that she would go through the effort of escaping from Schneizel and Nunally and risking death to serve Lelouch again only to go around and betray him. He never threatened her, she came back of her own will, so I’m curious as to what exactly their plan is. Lelouch told Lloyd, Cecile, and Sayoko to make plans for Apate Aretia, whatever that is. A quick google revealed some guy’s site that indicated Apate was Greek for “’Deception,’ daughter of Nux,” and Aretia was a Phoenician Earth goddess. Probably an apt title for what they are trying to do.

Well, Sunrise must have heard Crusader’s cries for vengeance, so they brought her back this week. Aside from that, Sunrise, for the love of God please let characters stay dead. On the other hand, I found it really amusing that Schneizel is so apathetic that he wont even kill his own sister who betrayed him. What a wacky final villain.

Just…no…just no, Sunrise

They laid it out really clear for us here, Charles wanted the past, Schneizel wants today, and Lelouch wants the future. Schneizel is generally just apathetic and prefers to not indulge in things like hope or happiness and just wants to assert peace. Lelouch is in the end, a dreamer, who hopes for a better tomorrow, albeit one forged through blood.

This was quite satisfying to see Schneizel finally beaten by Lelouch. However, I will say that the way he was beaten was supremely lame. There’s just no way he could accurately predict Schneizel’s responses in that way, the lines were too perfectly matched. Against Mao I can buy, because Mao was an idiot, but Schneizel would be too smart for that. Oh well, I’ll just ignore it for now and laugh at the fact that Schneizel is now motivated to do something. Through the geass he is no longer apathetic and instead greatly desires to serve Lelouch. That’s kind of a scary thought.

BL ALERT, BL ALERT. Avert your eyes! If that was my first time seeing this character I’d swear he was a girl with that look. It’s also really, really disgusting, and I’m sure all the yaoi fangirls screamed out in orgasmic pleasure.

Good riddance, worthless.

Mmmm, probably not because I don’t think he can go that far. We’ll probably get some sort of long talk about the past and feelings, and maybe they’ll all blow up. Or not, there could aslo be a twist of some sort. Once again, those eyes are really freaking creepy, maybe they just look big because she’s had them closed the whole series.
Next Episode:
Low quality extended preview of episode 25.
Not going to bother posting shots because it’s all frames from episode one of the first season. Taniguchi likes to have parallels between the beginning and end of his seasons, as I pointed out in the first episode of R2. The words spoken in the extended preview are also very much like the end of the first episode of season one. Credit goes to Koshimizu on the following translation:
R2 Turn 25 Preview:
I might have been a wonderer long since that day.
Sick of this world that couldn’t be changed, but even in my lies, I refuse to give up in despair.
Yes. My name, my experience, and the power I’ve obtained…
All of these might be paving the path to finding the “truth”.
Therefore…
R1 Turn 1:
This corresponds to the climax of Stage 1:
I’ve been lying to myself long since that day.
Lying about being alive.
My name is a lie. My experience is a lie. Nothing but lies.
Sick of this world that couldn’t be changed, but even in my lies, I refuse to give up in despair.
But I’ve obtained this power.
Therefore…
I don’t think this is going to be a recap episode really, but I’d guess Lelouch and Nunally are going to have a conversation about what happened. They also probably just didn’t want to give anything away about the ending.
Crusader’s Angry Drunken Rant
My Cornelia-hime lives! Clearly my round the clock buzzing of Sunrise by fighter bombers has brought them to heel. I forgive them to the outrages they have committed against my Cornelia-hime. Now I must call back those B-52s…
Also best of luck to Villetta who carries Ougi wehrbeitrag.

I don’t like a lot of it myself, but I don’t think you’re right about everything either.
Schneizel remains quite anti-climatic of a villain to the end, but at least he got something he deserved and we don’t have to worry about him.
Nina kinda did get redeemed, so I don’t mind her by now. Fine.
Cornelia’s dying like nothing would have been worse, so I can deal with that being resolved to allow her to live…but Guilford’s return was too cheap. No, I don’t think Nunnally’s was cheap, since the whole shuttle thing was fairly hinted at before, blah blah blah. But Guilford’s is just lame.
I’m not happy with the way Kallen’s character arc turned out either, blame the staff and all…but I don’t think it’s that senseless. The fact is Kallen knew enough to have initial doubts, just not enough to know what the hell was going on…especially when Lelouch is acting quite evil in public and messing stuff up, which isn’t exactly an ambiguous matter, and, moreover, he pushed her away himself when she tried to ask for the truth.
She doesn’t hate him, but wants to stop him for his actions, even if she has to kill and forget her feelings. Maybe it would have been better to make her hesitate more, but crying still indicates she’s not happy about what she’s doing, obviously. Her fight with C.C. did have some undertones of jealousy and what not. No, it doesn’t make me happy, but the rest still applies.
C.C. x Lelouch is obvious.
Gino I don’t really care about, but he has no reason to think Lelouch’s coup is better than Schneizel’s (which didn’t actually succeed) and I don’t see where you get that he knew what the actual plan for Damocles is (other than the fact the thing is shooting nukes in combat). I guess it’s also not hard to see him fighting Lelouch just because he’s acting evil and the supposed good guys are rallied against him.
If anything, I think Xingke’s been the most mistreated character here, considering all the hype of his being Suzaku+Lelouch rolled into one.
Entertaining, but a little underwhelming is all I will add.
XXX added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 1:58 pmI raged so hard when Schneizel, supposedly a genius, got beat by simple Geass. How the hell did Lelouch set up a pre-recorded conversation ahead of time KNOWING all of the answers Schneizel was going to come up with? When did he have the time to sit down and record that with all that running?
So many damn plot holes.
So much for being the “Final Boss”. It looks like Nunnally took over that spot.
I also lol’d so fucking hard when Suzaku pulled out the GOD DAMN LANCE OF LONGINUS. I couldn’t stop laughing. This episode was pure trainwreck.
Guilford survives having his knightmare frame swallowed by an implosion. ANYTHING is possible in Geass. ANYTHING!!
I have to hand it to Taniguchi, every time I think I have Geass figured out, he throws another curveball. The only person on my Death List who actually died was Diethard. BIG, BIG disappointment there but I guess that’s what they’re going for? Build up fans expectations and then “LOL, GOTCHU!!”.
I won’t be surprised if after the finale Taniguchi receives death threats from angry fans. I mean, if Hideki Anno got threats to his life for how Eva ended, I can’t how someone wouldn’t be sending Taniguchi loads of nasty-grams.
Halcyon added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 1:58 pmCornelia… ok. Guilford… wtf?! This episode made so little sense, and I can’t even follow the loyalty shifts anymore. I’m also starting to wonder if that first FLEIA was really a nuke or just a big warp. Did anyone die in the blast?

Not today, though. Whew.
Also, seems I owe Schneizel an apology. He was a loyal Knight of the Status Quo throughout it all. He’s Lulu’s butt-boy now, of course.
jack added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 2:14 pmThe only angry fans are the ones who are angry that the show didn’t go their way or couldn’t understand well, anything.
The amount of incorrect bullshit spewed by this blog post is just irritating. So much that I’ll go through each and every one of them.
So when the OotBK were played by Lelouch through all of S1 and most of S2, it was a-ok, even though Lelouch was just using them, and suddenly when Schneizel is using them, things change and the OotBK are suddenly stupid? They haven’t changed. They don’t know Schneizel OR Lelouch’s true intentions. They are seeing everything from their own perspective. You have to be out of your goddamn mind to hold it against them for siding with Schneizel. None of them know what he’s up to, just like how none of them knew what Lelouch was up to in S1 (Lelouch basically wanted to secure Japan for Nunnally and destroy Britannia out of pure vengeance, these are goals that the OotBK were not aware of).
I always thought Toudou was smarter than all of this too, but I was wrong again there. Just goes to show you how ridiculously charismatic and cunning Schneizel is.
Again, this is completely ignorant. After everything Lelouch has done since becoming Emperor, you expect him to blindly tell his people to go against Schneizel, who had been helping them, and go side back with Lelouch?
Did you forget that Lelouch took the UFN representatives hostage and that the UFN were trying to oust him from Japan? Really?
Really, I generally stopped caring about Kallen. This season they have raped her character so bad that I say fuck it, go ahead and kill her off. Seriously, she has turned into a complete and utter retard who all of a sudden hates Lelouch. She stood by him through all the betrayals and lies of the first season and a half, knowing about everything. But now, she decides she has to side with Schneizel and kill Lelouch? What kind of stupid character development is that?
I don’t like Kallen either, but this is completely misrepresentative of her. How foolish and naive of you to somehow think that Kallen would side with Lelouch after everything he’s done post-exposure. You act as if Zero Requiem is some holy plan that will help the world, when in fact it is just Lelouch being selfish again and wanting to play celestial being. Granted it is the lesser of two evils, but again I remind you: Kallen and everyone else does not know what the fuck Schneizel was trying to do.
Do you have the attention span of a fish? Did you ignore the fact that Lelouch took over Britannia by brainwashing and geassing everyone, forming an army of slaves who die at Lelouch’s command? Who in their right mind would side with that? Gino, the rest of the KoR, all of the UFN, and all of the poor nobles that rebelled and were slain by Jeremiah, all of them would not stand for the evil emperor Lelouch. The fact that Schneizel was up to something even more hideous (of which Gino had absolutely no knowledge of) is completely irrelevant.
Look at things in perspective. It might I don’t know, make you realize that Code Geass isn’t a trainwreck just because you couldn’t understand any of it.
Well, Sunrise must have heard Crusader’s cries for vengeance, so they brought her back this week.
We knew she was alive the day after the episode aired in the form of the correlative chart. Seriously, what is wrong with you. She never died. Her bandaged arms indicate that the turret only hit her arms (which you can see in ep 23). As for Guilford, his frame was right on the edge of Fleia, so he easily could have survived, we just didn’t see it then because Sunrise wanted to keep it a surprise. It’s not like his survival was impossible.
I’m going to ignore Halcyon’s post this week because as usual, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but arguing with him is like arguing with a wall.
asdfas added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 2:21 pmCan someone delete asdfas’ post as it’s completely unrelated to this week’s episode?

Halcyon added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 2:26 pmI think there’s alot of raging against the episode but I liked it not an awesome episode but not a bad one.
-I can understand they reviving Nunally even Cornelia but GUILFORD!!!! for what purpose would anyone revive him? For those of you who watched the first season of gundam 00 they pulled a Patrick Colausar seriously Sunrise stop it
-I also don’t like the way they’ve dealed with kallen I mean it’s like they took a character from season one who actually had an episode to develop her story and took her and season 2 and made her a footnote… stop it sunrise
-I found it hilarious when lelouch told diethard that he isn’t worthy of being Geassed XD poor fool but at least he’s dead.
-I found it impressive that only a single named character died in this episode and on another note that the named character in question wasn’t Xing-ke hello 18 episodes ago he was deathflagged come on seriously? and on top of that they are bringing characters back from the dead ok I have 3 possible ways the show is going to end
1) The next episode is a huge troll which resets everything and makes it so that they can make a third season and all the crap about this being the last season well….. they lied.
2) They start killing off alot of characters without explanation or character development leaving Gaping Canyons of plot holes
3) They make the most epic and dramatic ending ever and leave the character development for ova’s or novels or extra stuff.
-I just couldn’t help myself from laughing when lelouch geassed Shneizel I mean it was just so lulz worthy and Shneizel’s laugh …. I’m just gonna leave it at that.
-Lelouch can see the future that’s how he knew what Shneizel was going to say the third season will be called: “That’s so Lelouch”
-Nunally’s eyes are creepy plus I half expected nunally to have a geass Sunrise would go beyond trolling level, fortunately they didn’t do it,,, thank you sunrise
-Lloyd, Cecile, and the supermeido are the true masterminds behind everything and will end up ruling the world. muahahhahahahahahahahah
-ORANGE-KUN probably my second favorite character of the show and by now I don’t understand the motives behind Gino and Anya I mean what are they trying to do, Gino said something about protecting something but maybe the subs I watched were wrong.
Sunrise still has a chance to bring us a good ending probably it will be an epic ending pleasing my inner fanboy but making my brain hurt luckily the miracle that is called beer will numb my brain enough for me to watch the episode without raging at it…. hopefully I’ll have enough beer.
I agree, Kallen took a poor turn in deciding sides. Twas much too easy for her to just say screw you Lulu, but if we look back at those “personnel charts” Lulu had on screen a few episodes ago… Kallen was a tad low in the area of intellect.
episode really does raise more questions.
Ryan A added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 2:36 pm@Black Kat
An everyonedies ending would be quite unique for Sunrise, I may buy into that one.
@XXX
I can buy Cornelia’s survival due to Schneizel’s apathy, but like you said Guilford was just cheap. He blew the fuck up in FREIA afterall.
Maybe it’s because Kallen’s character has been torn down like this that I don’t see some of the reasoning you do in her action. Perhaps the fall from being my favorite character just makes me rage too much.
I think it’s pretty obvious what FLEIA is supposed to be, even Xing Ke and the OotBK realize that Damocles is going to be used to rule the world with fear. There doesn’t seem to be a way in which Gino would not realize this. My beef is that when given the choice between the two coups he ends up being vehemently on one side. I’d understand if he couldn’t decide what to do, but he is so intent on killing Lelouch that it just doesn’t click right for me.
@Halcyon
Nunally being the final boss is beyond retarded. But she really won’t be a “boss” per se since they just have to talk it out. Schneizel was technically the last boss since he was actually fighting him army to army. This is dependent on Sunrise not giving Nunally some sort of army he has to defeat…
Yeah the Lance of Longinus was really obvious, and I have already spent too much time making Eva comparisons so I let it slide this time. I don’t really like Eva anyways~
@Kabitzin
Well Asahina and Miss Rohmeier look to be still pretty dead, everyone else has seemingly come back to life though.
@Jack
That could definitely take up a weekend.
@Asdfas
In case you didn’t realize it, this is a blog, where I give my opinions on what I think of the show. So if I don’t like how the show is going I’m going to say so. Your anger is rather silly, nobody is forcing you to read this.
OotBK: Yeah it’s different, because they are following a guy that wants to take them hostage and rule the world through fear rather then the guy who actually intended to free them the whole time. He wanted to destroy Brittania by using the OotBK and in the process, free Japan, which is what they want.
Toudou: No, I was expecting him to at least realize what’s going on, he’s obviously ignorant of it because he’s raging all over Suzaku and Lelouch. I’m just pointing out the lack of logical and rational thought about what kind of world each of the two brother’s will bring about. Toudou was supposed to be a smart guy.
Kallen: Kallen knew that he geass’d people and was lying the entire time. In episode 7 she even told him to continue to deceive them until the end. Why the change now to suddenly hate him? He’s been geass’ing people and taking advantage of them all for the entire series, and she knew it.
Gino: Once again, I’m not saying he should side with Lelouch, I questioned his undying loyalty to Schneizel despite the fact that he was ready to take up arms against him for planning a coup. Perhaps it’s your own attention span that’s lacking.
Cornelia: Oh man sorry I don’t mash the refresh button on the character chart each and every opportunity I could. I was just making a joke based on what actually aired, my deepest apologies.
I’m going to ignore Halcyon’s post this week because as usual, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but arguing with him is like arguing with a wall.
That looks like the pot calling the kettle black to me. Maybe you should calm down a bit and stop banging on your keyboard while throwing out personal insults?

No, but he needs to watch the personal insults or the next one will find the delete button.
@CJ
The lack of final character death is quite saddening, Diethard being the only one is pretty weaksauce.
I don’t think they are planning on a reset, but you never know with Sunrise. I prefer the epic and dramatic ending with an OVA for an epilogue showing what happened to the characters.
@Ryan A
I remember those charts, she was maxed out in loyalty =/

nunnaly…again a big sunrise fat-bag, fuck-duck surprise - the preview doesn’t reveal much, i think that’s fine, as long there is NO third season.
and at last after 5 or more episodes, that’s the first time I AM NOT bothered or disturbed by the show…how i longed for it - please let lelouch win, he suffered so often, stay geassed SCHNEIZEL !!!

Well, unfortunately, Nunnally still has the FLEIJA trigger and while Schneizel has disabled the Damocles’ self-destruct sequence the FLEIJA bomb is still fully primed and ready to go. Lelouch could Geass her but she might be able to resist it since she broke Charles’ Geass on her. The fact that she controls the most powerful weapon in the Geass universe would put her in “Boss” status, imo. At the very least, she’s every bit the threat Mao was in Season 1 and since there are no more major antagonists to defeat, by default, with Schneizel’s loss she inherits Final Boss status.
Yeah the Lance of Longinus was really obvious, and I have already spent too much time making Eva comparisons so I let it slide this time. I don’t really like Eva anyways~
I’m still waiting for Lelouch to masturbate to Kallen’s unconscious and/or dead body to make the symmetry complete.
Halcyon added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 2:49 pm@Tommykn
Problem is that Schneizel doesn’t have that kind of willpower, he’s quite lazy and apathetic while Nunally is hugely motivated. The only other person to break the geass was Euphemia through her own strength of will.
@Halycon
Btw, reading what I said was a bit unclear. To make sure I was calling making Nunally the final boss retarded on Sunrise’s part, not calling you retarded for thinking that.
I wonder whether Schneizel can go and disconnect her key while they are talking, perhaps that’s what he ordered him to do under the geass. I guess she can be considered a “boss” but not one with sufficient buildup and more like just some random plot twist.
It would be amusing, but Lelouch rarely thinks of girls, unlike Shinji~

The reason Lelouch knew what to say is because thats his brother, think to when they were fighting, they both saw each other moves and then they countered and so on…When Lelouch was running through Damocles he said something like,”Is Schneizel on the top floor, Or……….”
Also like asdfas said Guilford’s Knightmare was on the edge of FREIJA’s blast, so he could have defintely survived…

In Chess, the board is very limited on what pieces you can move and how far you can move them. Predicting someone’s entire conversation and being able to have it through a recording is quite different than predicting someone’s chess moves.
Also like asdfas said Guilford’s Knightmare was on the edge of FREIJA’s blast, so he could have defintely survived…
Except, they actually showed Guilford’s entire KnightMare Frame being swallowed by FLEIJA’s blast radius. In case you forgot, it was an explosion-implosion reaction. Everything that was inside the light got swallowed into nothingness.
That’s the way an implosion works. He may have been in the “edge” of the blast but that still doesn’t negate the fact that FLEIJA is an implosive bomb, not an explosive bomb. Everything within its radius would’ve been sucked into the center and crushed into sub-atomic particles. There is simply no logical or scientific explanation that would satisfactorily conclude how someone could survive an implosion INSIDE the blast radius.
Explosion? Sure. Because Physics states that the force is applied toward the radius. Implosion? No. Because an implosion involves matter collapsing in on itself.
It would be the equivalent of Guilford surviving a black hole when he’s already passed the event horizon.

raindog added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 3:59 pmI still say Nunnally’s eyes are beautiful. And C.C. gets to care about something this episode, like maybe not-dying, which combines moe-moe Slave C.C. with the more sophisticated C.C. we’ve known from the first season… and that works.
Now I’m hoping SOMEONE important dies next episode, else we’re not likely to see a lot of resolution at the end… just ‘more of the same’.
Haesslich added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 4:04 pmThis is my first time reading your review and might I add: YOU are hilarious!! Yea I’m glad you added the piece about Kallen, I just can’t understand why shes alive. She and Cornelia need to die soon.
vivek091 added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 4:07 pmSilly fools Guilford’s survival is simple Patrick Colasaur taught him everything he needed to know about how to survive having your mecha blown up.
1) you send the writers chocolates
2) you have to be madly in love with a named character
3) you have to die doing something stupid thus making the writers change their minds about your death and reviving you
4) you have to be a named character
5) you have to have a mecha that is above the normal mass production but isn’t overpowered
6) you have to have a loyal fanbase that will send threatening letters to the writers
7) you have to make a wtf face or an emo facial expression or have a cliche line like: “bakana” (impossible in jap) or make noises that express your disbelief about being defeated in battle or explosion
8] you can’t be deathflagged
9) it has to be a sunrise show
That’s the anime character’s guide to being revived in a sunrise show. (you don’t have to fill all the requirements only some of them)
Disclaimer: please this is only a joke do not take it seriously don’t atack, flame or bash me for posting this if you don’t like it go write an angry letter and throw it away.
I don’t really care what happens as long as it’s epic. Recap episode will induce mass suicide.

Do you want Crusader to redirect those b-52 bombers to your house?
Also the worst possible ending would be a recap but I doubt they will do that considering how much epicness they put in code geass like Zero’s hand movements when he’s talking I mean really if a politician gave speeches like that I would vote for him no matter what he said ^.^
Oh and I really don’t want a death note ending that would make me give up all hope in the world and kill myself.

Well, firstly, I’ve always thought Nunnally surviving was bullshit to begin with. But just for the sake of argument, they never showed Nunnally’s escape craft actually INSIDE the blast radius. What they showed was the light from FLEIJA’s implosion from the perspective of Nunnally/Sayoko, as if they were watching it from the outside. That was a copout/bullshit move by Sunrise but I’ll let it slide because it brought back sexy Meido Sayoko.
also orange was at the bottom of the sea how did he live C.C. is imortal and just floated how did he get out hmmmmmmmmmm
As for how he ‘got out’ from the bottom of the sea, it was pretty much clear that V.V. and the Geass Cult (along with Barton) salvaged his body and even gave him upgrades (which is exactly why the Siegfried also shows up later as the Sutherland Siegfried: Salvaged from the wreckage). Remember, when Orange-kun was in the Siegfried he was already a cyborg. He was no longer human, most of his body was replaced with hardware.
The only way to beat conventional science is with superior science (or magic). Since there is no possible freaking way that Guilford has access to superior technology (in a crappy Vincent) he didn’t have the necessary Science to beat an implosion. He also didn’t have any magical powers either.
Guilford Alive = Massive plothax.

SUNRISE MUST DIE
if you dont like what i said then dont argue just let it slide
also DEATH TO SUZAKU AND DEITHARD
raindog added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 5:57 pmMan, Calawain, you need like a Geass character murder simulator or something to act out your inner desires. Somebody needs to skin some characters into Garry’s Mod or something and give it to you to play with.
It’s really curious how some people have a pleasure to pain ratio based off of character death when it comes to this show. Characters die in an episode, opinion is positive, characters live…ZOMG TRAINWRECK! Okay not exactly, but I can’t help but imagine some people jumping for joy if they were to bury half the cast next episode.
As for Guilford, I’m lucky enough to still have the episode and sure enough all you see go is his leg as he pushes Lelouch out of the bombs area of effect. If Lelouch could survive then so could Guilford theoretically. I had him pegged for a possible reappearance, but he’s the only one really. Why it’s necessary for him to come back I’m not sure, but meh….it’s not like it’s detrimental to anything that’s going on right now. He’s just a dude. The question isn’t so much how he could have survived in my opinion, but why he survived.
It’s really not that hard to imagine Guilford surviving at all really. I’m not really going to argue about it because frankly it’s a silly topic, but it’s no more implausible then Patrick surviving because his cockpit still happened to be intact. Improbable yes, implausible or impossible, no. People also seem to be forgetting that Knightmare Frames have ejection pods. Yeah we just saw a signal lost message and there was no indication that he ejected on screen, but it doesn’t mean he didn’t.
Show still makes perfect sense by the way.

I know that but since a surrender was not forth coming, I had to call in the big bombers…because let’s face it an F-16 can only carry so much whup ass, but a B-52 can carry ordnance that could not be fitted on to a Falcon…
Besides the B-52s could also loiter above Sunrise airspace.

The first episode I ever saw him in, I thought “That bitch needs to die.” And die, that bitch did. No one with a chin like his deserves life. Right now, Code Geass is like that Family Guy centric episode of South Park. You know with the seals randomly picking out stupid jokes, but instead it’s godforsaken plot twists. Do you think that the Macross people watch this show and go “Wow!…..We’re not doing that. Let’s keep Alto dead otherwise it would look like we were riding Geass’s thunder.”

It is actually Apate Aletheia. Aletheia is a concept of truth, though perhaps not precisely the way we think of truth. Rather is best thought of as reality, something that is not obscured or concealed (lethe). Hence a-lethe-ia.

jp_zer0 added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 8:43 pmTo explain why Lelouch were able to predict Schneizel’s response in a conversation, perhaps Lulu was behind them the whole time talking to them while the video had no sound at all. They didn’t notice b/c Schneizel was too engaged in the conversation, Kanon and Diethart were refrained.
FireStarter added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 11:34 pm*Yes I realize how fanboyish this sounds* I really only half care about the main story any more. All I want is for both C.C. and Lelouch to live the series and end up as a couple. I think Kallen is an interesting character and all, but I don’t like her for Lelouch. Let Drugzaku have her. I got into this series about a year ago, and in all honesty it was hearing about C.C. and her possible relationship with Lelouch. Basically, so long as they end up together (and maybe find a way to die together, though that wont happen and I know it) I will be happy.
Dark Water added these pithy words on Sep 21 08 at 11:38 pmI agree with the review.I’m also dissapointed in Kallen. When she asked Lelouch the trueth I was angry that he didn’t say anything, but now I think he has some reason not to.He could have explained himself to the rest of the Blackknights as well, but maybe that would make things pretty easy for him so I think there is some reason he chose not to that will hopefully be told to us in the end.I wished that Kallen’s character would have remained consistent, but the one thing this series has shown us is that the people are never always the same.
Blade Skills added these pithy words on Sep 22 08 at 5:28 amEverything is allright with Gino.
In 23 episode Schneizel said that he didn’t has any army only Damocles and Mordred.
Anya is with Schneizel.
Look again 23 episode Kallen’s and Gino’s little conversation. There was said that Gino is with UFN and Black knights. In other words he has chosen not to side with Mister Nuke Schneizel nor with Mister Geass Lelouch.
I wonder how this show will end?
SoSo/Karin lover added these pithy words on Sep 22 08 at 9:20 amAt the end of Geass, Lelouch is going to go back to the World of C with C.C. and leave the rest of the world behind.
The epilogue starts with Lelouch and C.C. living together in the World of C like the Honeymooners. C.C. says something to piss him off and Lelouch says “One of these days, [C.C.’s real name] BANG! ZOOM! TO THE MOON” and he points at Jupiter.
Either that or Lelouch grants C.C.’s wish by going with her to be absorbed by the collection unconsciousness of mankind, thereby getting rid of both the Code and his own geass and breaking the cycle of CODO GEEASSU.
Then you see the Emperor’s Face flashing inside Jupiter cackling “KEIKAKKU DOORI RUROOSHU”
Halcyon added these pithy words on Sep 22 08 at 9:21 amI knew Nunnally would open her eyes (just ask Cal.) Btw has anyone taken notice of the CLAMP butterflies that adorn her (like the one around her neck), especially the scene in this ep where they fly across the screen? She’s the lynchpin of series, I”m guessing. Keep in mind that CLAMP has a major hand in this animation as well, though its a bit difficult to say just how far their influence extends.
As for everything else, what more can I say that hasn’t already been said? I’m happy that Diethard experienced a most fitting demise ^_^ and that Cornelia is back amongst the living, even if it was some BS.
A Code Geass director’s cut would be nice…
Maipeisu added these pithy words on Sep 22 08 at 10:15 amI HATE Sunrise for what they do with Kallens character! I think it´s only because the writers want to make a big final Kallen & Suzaku fight…! But she is still my favorite female in this show and my heart still beats for Kallen x Lulu…ok, ist´s clear now, that that never will happen, but I´m not someone who say “Oh, kallen x Lulu wouldn´t happen? Then I´m now a Lulu x C.C. Fan!” -Never! I don´t really dislike C.C., but I just like Kallen (the old one) more… I Hope they´ll make her like she was before the end of turn 22!
And Gino…at the beginning of this season I really like him …but now, his character has changed into a big fool! unlike Kallen I somehow really dislike him now…I hope so much that there isn´t a gino x kallen end!!! Before that it maybe would be better if kallen and suzaku would both kill each other in the next episode, thought…
Gotta love Sunrise. They create a guy that has two goals in life to justify everything he does - taking revenge on his father for his mother’s murder and making a better world for his sister. And here we are, finally at the end, and guess what? He has disposed of his mother and is ready to sacrifice his sister for the sake of Future. Add some spice and bake in an oven for 30 minutes. Makes 4 servings of clusterfuck.
Nice.

Did you miss the part where his sister was chucking NUCLEAR BOMBS at him left and right and his army was disappearing like the US Economy?
I wouldn’t blame Lelouch. Hell, if my little sister was throwing RPGs at me, I’d slap the taste out of her mouth.
Halcyon added these pithy words on Sep 22 08 at 1:24 pmCode Geass S2 has strated off extremely strong, but unfortunately the climax peaked around episode 21~23. Just the fact that Ep.24 is becoming such a drag where everything seemingly makes no sense and is being rushed, just ruins the whole series.
To me, it simply seems like the author realized that there’re no more villans to pilot Knightmare frames to combat Lelouch + Suzaku, so he just dumped everyone else to the side fighting Lulu. Yes, having Suzaku and Kallen on the same side will be too overpowering, but I’m sure that’d satisify the fan a lot more, plus Sunrise just demonstrated again their inability to pull descent plot twists. By rhia point, like many others, I just want to see the last episode to get it over with and move on to Gundam 00. What a shame, great series finishing weak.
Sean added these pithy words on Sep 22 08 at 2:37 pmI think the biggest kick I get out of all of this is that the people who claim the show makes no sense keep claiming anew with each episode that the series makes no sense as if they’ve discovered a new development in their own mind’s eye. With episode 21 the previous episodes were the ones that “made sense”, with episode 22 suddenly episode 21 was among the ones that “make sense”, with episode 23 that was the episode where it all stopped “making sense” and so on and so forth. Leaves me to wonder if way back in the beginning it was episode 2 where the show “stopped making sense”, but then again I wasn’t really paying attention.
Oh well, if the trend carries by the time we hit the end of episode 25, 95% of the series will have made perfect sense and been awesome to people so I guess that’s good stuff. Am I right folks?

NemesisZeru added these pithy words on Sep 23 08 at 6:03 pmZeroR2: You seem to have a keen grasp of the intricacies in this series. How do you know it’s going to 31 episodes?
If Nunnally pushes the button or Lelouche uses his gaess on her, I’m going to be upset.
1) Zero *would* use his gaess on Nunnally. Without hesitation.
2) Lelouche wouldn’t. He did all of this for her. Not unless his Gaess was for her to “live on” like Suzaku.
3) I think it would be a cheap way to resolve this conflict, which is why I don’t want the writers to solve it that way, despite the fact that Lelouche/Zero might actually use that strategy.
Either the next episode is going to be the last episode and rock uber hard, be the last episode and falter, or string us along and be an ok episode, if there are 31 episodes. If they give us a Death Note ending, I’m gonna boycott Sunrise.
Jaedreth added these pithy words on Sep 27 08 at 8:44 pmCalawain, using the “this is my blog and my opinions” excuse doesn’t mean people can’t tell you when you’re wrong. You can’t expect people to not correct you when you’re basically slandering characters for things that they shouldn’t be slandered for.
OotBK: Yeah it’s different, because they are following a guy that wants to take them hostage and rule the world through fear rather then the guy who actually intended to free them the whole time. He wanted to destroy Brittania by using the OotBK and in the process, free Japan, which is what they want.
They didn’t know what Schneizel’s plans were. As far as they were concerned, Schneizel was the last standing Britannian “rebel army” against the new emperor. Lelouch might have been their saviour once, but given his actions as emperor, he was clearly no longer their saviour. Even the whole Zero Requiem plan was never about “saving the world”, but simply Lelouch wanting to commit suicide in a grandiose way after killing his parents.
Let’s say the BK never betrayed Lelouch. Well in that case, Lelouch might have gotten a little farther with his original plan but at some point Marianne would have intervened and revealed to him of their Ragnarok plans. Lelouch would have likely abandoned the BK at that point and gone about Zero Requiem, since nothing would have changed.
