The only real reason Kotoko slapped Non-chan was because he insulted Naoki. I doubt she would've really done anything if Non-chan hadn't said anything to him.

It's funny how if Naoki acts like a jerk, Kotoko cries and whines but the minute Non-chan starts being a jerk to Naoki she slaps him. Where was her backbone a few episodes ago?

I didn't like this episode because, well, it wasn't funny or romantic at all and this is supposed to be a romantic comedy. It focuses entirely on a side character that has no impact on the greater story of Naoki and Kotoko and with only 4/5 episodes less I would've liked to see more progress between them.

Instead, we got this. While it's nice seeing Kotoko "stand by her man" and throw a slap or two, I can't help but think this should've been done 5 episodes ago, not when we're into the last stretch of the series. I also wish this episode would've given a little more time to Yuuki to see how he's relationship with his new sister-in-law evolved over the last 5 years. He still looks like the same 10 year old, only chubbier. Talk about getting the short end of the stick. Looks like Naoki wound up with the looks AND the brains in the family.

Next episode's preview looks like Naoki might actually DO SOMETHING for Kotoko for a change instead of being an emotional parasite. Thankfully, they're starting to get to the meat and bones of what the series is supposed to be about instead of tossing us more red herrings.
