My coverage of this series obviously dropped a couple of weeks ago. Due to a combination of the plot sucking, a new job, and me being slightly burnt out from doing Geass (this show gets released the day of or the next day after geass it seems) made me not cover a couple of episodes. However, I’d at least like to give my final thoughts on the show after some quick comments on the last couple of episodes.

Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s finally over. It’s been quite the journey and I’m kind of glad it’s over because at times it was exhausting to spend so much time on it each week. Anyways, this post is limited to discussion of the episode itself, not the entire series. I’ll make a separate post reviewing the series as a whole, so please do your best to focus your comments on the contents of this episode. There’s plenty to talk about with just the final scene so I think it will be alright~

And how! Well all those who forgot that this was still a mecha series and not a harem…certainly did get trolled.

The whines, cries, and the most impure tears that make Noe gag of the hated shippers brings joy to every Macross Vet that ever was and ever will be. This is not some harem anime, you arschleckers and hammels this is Macross where mecha is still more important than Ranka. For starters if you are a Sheryl fan that still likes Macross, but now doubt Alto-hime’s actions for the past few eps I demand you shave your heads as a sign of your lack of faith in my Alto-hime and the awesomeness of Sheryl. If you are a Sheryl or Ranka fan who thinks this series sucks now after your pitiful minds were overloaded by the Kawamori troll GTFO and an hero yourself this instant! If you are some sorry looking Singaporean conscript who just got trolled for the first time by Kawamori and are now weeping in the corner of a maid cafe, how does it feel to be stupid for daring to think that you would not be trolled? Kawamori and Kadun have no use for you. Go back to your harem series from whence you came and never let your hateful presence mar the glory of our franchise. Let it never be said that my name of Crusader has no meaning for I have a faith in Alto-hime that is beyond reproach and can and do delight in the fulfillment of the one thing I had prayed many moons for. Kawamori has delivered and by Kadun if you did not enjoy it I hope that a fold bomb falls on your face you hateful and ignorant heretic, so say we all!

Okay well, it was a nice way to end the series even though they basically took the ending from the manga. This was actually probably the best way to end it too without finalizing any relationships or anything. But, yes, it’s finally over and I’ll be taking a nice short break from blogging until Fall season comes out and I find something I like (which is like a week or two away actually ¬.¬).

I always said Merle was superfluous.

Well garrison duty just ended for me so I decided to watch Escaflowne again after buying a copy of my own instead of mooching off my buddy. I love how Bandai was putting out old series in boxed sets for 34-40 USD a pop, if only they would do it for series that were more recent… Next time I plan on buying my own copy of Zeta Gundam, but until then Escaflowne was cheaper. So yes Escaflowne, how unfortunate it was that FOX butchered it when I was a kid. Still a fantasy mecha that transforms into a dragon, how could I say no to that? This would make my third time watching this series again but I still think highly of it after all this time. I’ll post my final thoughts later since things get shall we say even more interesting…but for now episodes 1-14 is a good half way point to write about some of my favorite scenes from the series. Also I still don’t know how to take screen caps with a PS3 so apologies for only having one screen cap, still it looks prettier.

This one is for all you Haruna fanboys.

What’s the deal Xebec? Do you guys always wait until the final episodes to come out with some decent stuff? I don’t know about you guys, but aside from the emofest, I actually liked this episode. I’m guessing it’s because I’m used to all the bad episodes and once a decent episode finally comes I get all excited. Hell, I’m actually looking forward to the next episode. Oh gawd. Did I actually just say I’m looking forward to a TLR episode? *shudders*
