Nogizaka Haruka, Episode 6

What happens in Comiket, stays in Comiket

It’s the Comiket episode! It comes complete with porn, yaoi porn, cosplay, rabid otakus, and massive lines. But because it’s this show, we also get the maids and imoutou of the year tagging along, with a healthy serving of hugging and blushing for dessert.

Porn, and lots and lots of music apparently. I mean TT has been flooded with piles of this crap, half of it Touhou it seems, and I find it mildly irritating.

See if this were any other show he’d have been all embarrassed about it, or tried to do both and got them both mad/jealous. No, Yuuto is a one woman man and turns her down straight, maybe next time girl. I like the fact that they had to have her wearing only a towel to make this phone call, nice touch.

Haha, Inkuami man porn. I always found that show amusing for the sheer fact that it had more manservice then fanservice. I mean when you try to compare the amount of girl bath scenes/swimsuit scenes to the sheer number of times Keita has his elephant hanging out, or guys in S&M gear, or any of the multitude of manservice scenes there’s just no competition. Poor Haruka can’t handle the porn, guess she has awhile to go before becoming a fujyoshi.

That’s right, defend your woman, rawr!

Hazuki in Dokuro-chan cosplay with an actual chainsaw is epic win. I give complete authority for her to slice and dice any and all irritating cosplay fanboys.

This show likes its Shana references

Is it time for kissu yet? Come on, keep up with your current pace guys!

I guess that scary looking dude in black was one of daddy’s SPs and he has been informed that she went to the ultra super otaku event and now some drama is about to ensue. Alright Yuuto, time to go face down her dad and declare your undying love. Be a man Yuuto, dooooo eeeeeeeet!

    Man, you can already tell from the Opening that Shiina is going to make a play for Yuuto but Yuuto and Haruka are destined to be together.

    What I like about this series is that the character make progress (slowly but there’s still progress) unlike other series with romantic content like Zero no Tsukaima and Macross Frontier (which at this point is irritating me. 20 episodes in and you STILL can’t make a decision? WTF?).

    I loved Nobunaga’s dire warning in this episode “YOU MUST’NT TAKE COMIKET LIGHTLY!”. His reaction on meeting Yuuto at the Comiket was also a high point of the episode for me.

    It’s weird to see such a light-hearted and warm romantic comedy end an episode on such a serious note with Haruka crying on Yuuto’s doorstep. I definitely wasn’t prepared for that but this series has also had it’s dramatic moments which serve to bring the characters closer together. I’m just a little anxious to see how this “cliffhanger” will be resolved next episode.

    As much as I enjoy spotting the little anime references in an episode here and there, I have to say after watching two seasons of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Lucky Star I’m getting a bit burned out on that gimmick. I hope they continue to use it sparingly and not make the focus of the episode one anime parody after another. Once it’s funny, twice it’s amusing by the third time it just gets predictable and trite.

    Not much else to say other than this is still the best series of this season so far for me. I can’t wait to see the next episode based on the title alone it promises to be exciting and entertaining.

    Don’t make me hate you. Comiket is not to be taken lightly.

    COMIKET IS SRS BUSINESS!

    Looks like Haruka’s dad figures out her secret. O noes. Wonder how he’ll treat Yuuto.

    The only thing that I hate in this show it’s how they potrays the male akiba-kei as hardcore otakus, you know, the ones that the public hates so much.

    Mass shana references
    there was also the song and a pic of shana (red head mode) somewhere in the show

    This show is great. Even if it wasn’t I’d still watch it just for the ED.

    The maid with sunglasses makes me randy…

    Harem cliches dodged~! I just love how much (Otaku references aside) the main characters (ESPECIALLY Yuuto) avoid the standard harem cliches, and stick with the lovecom.

    @Halcyon

    The anime references they do seem fairly limited, and to a degree I would agree with you that the number of shows that should be doing that is limited. It’s easy to get tired of the self-referencing. You can also add Hayate no Gotoku to that list.

    @LDC

    My apoligies, I will take it seriously and take the first train!

    @Vin-nii

    They had a Shana doujin right in the middle there too, before the Inukami porn.

    @Tenser

    By far the best ED of this season ^_^

    @Calawain

    Also Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de (aka They Are My Noble Masters) used a lot of anime references, as much as I enjoy the self-referencing I think this year there are too many shows that are relying on that for laughs instead of original content. Though one can wonder what “original content” is anymore since it seems everything has already been done before.

    The show needs more self-destructing Haruka <3

    Comiket is really serious business.

    Funny thing here is that they reflected the actual rules of Comiket really well. And the fact that most of the Otaku there don’t give a rat’s ass about them.

    Comiket = laugh out loud, yes – spelled out

    You missed the Genshiken reference!!

    Any idea though what Haruka’s maido was supposed to dress up as? (the guy who handed her the dojinshi she was looking for).

    @Epi

    It was the super-meido Furame Heiz Wilhemina Carmel-san from Shakugan no Shana.
