@Hoshi: the problem with an anime like this being under-loved by most (and considered boring) is actually quite normal. I speculate that part of the reason for this to happen is our fast-paced world, and we cannot accept anything that does not seem to mean anything immediately. You know, like cleavage showing for boobs, and you start squeaking like a fanservice freak. Or perhaps mega high quality graphics fights for instant gratification. It really takes a different and more relaxed type of person to appreciate this anime in my opinion.

The beautiful graphics and exquisite style in which it portrays life as it is with magic just makes it so charming an experience. In a way, this has the same feel as Aria, and I wonder if it is due to the influence of Hal Maker Studios.

I think that Gouta's work will never be appreciated by anyone, which is why it is really from oneself. Even if he does not try hard, he will find it hard to be in the human circle (those who cannot use magic) as he has to constantly hide his abilities. If he wishes to be a magic user, he will simply lag behind others who already knows their ability since they are young. It's a lose-lose situation for him, one that compromises him. Instead of getting annoyed at his responses, I can empathize with him much more.

He's like a deviant among normal people, and a weakling among magic users. He is stuck in the middle, and is forced to go on a single path. Any normal smiling teenager will turn to a brooding man like him.

"That is perhaps why it touches me more, because it is realistic." Same here. I fell in love with it at first sight, because it's just simply .. beautiful in all aspects.

I can't really answer the last question for you yet Impz, cause I the subs haven't come out for this yet. However, you've pointed out something interesting to me - that Gouta is the victim by human feelings. You're right, it's sad and it's pathetic, but it's definitely true. And although not many will applaud for him, I will. His determination to face all obstacles and not repeat what his father did is certainly admirable to me.
