I like my mecha action, but hate whinny little boys. For some reason post Tomino Gundams have had more angst than the old ones. How I lament the days of aces in grunt suits…

Yeah Turn A was one of the more enjoyable +25 ep Gundam, better than Wing IMHO. Not nearly as blatant with recycled shots.

Pfft, bearzerger doesn’t have any taste that’s all. I kid, I kid, but one has to recall though that the mecha action in Turn A most of the time takes a back seat to the characters of the show, who are very compelling on their own.

There are a lot of silly moments in this show but I actually enjoyed it the most among Gundam shows with episodes over 25.

Goodness, Turn-A. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it – personally, I hold it up as evidence of Gundam’s versatility. Even if from now on every Gundam series is merely an exercise in flashy mecha action and whining adolescents (and it must be said that I enjoy flashy mecha action), Turn-A will somehow validate the franchise’s existence. Despite what bearzerger says.

oh my, Turn A Gundam. When I saw this two years ago for the first time it had me rolling around laughing. It was so bad it became funny. Especially that “beautiful” artwork, for example the giant noses all the bad guys had. Or how design and fashion was like watching an animated version of the Buck Rogers series.

I liked Gundam 0080 quite bit…

The way I see it the tie in with UC was inevitable though I didn’t see all the montages. In any case it was kind of funny how “Diana Soriel” was getting all teary eyed over Gundam. I bet those dastardly Zekes just forgot all about their weapons cache when their neo-Zeon movements turned out ot be full of lose and fail. Besides Zekes are stupid, that or they seriously thought that they were only making a tactical retreat from Earth and would some how come back…

Yeah the first few eps were nothing like those of a typical Gundam show. Wish they had kept hings that way in some of the later series.

i’d say this is the best AU Gundam series… in fact if the title of this show didn’t have Gundam in it we wouldn’t even know it was a gundam show

@Myssa Rei: even though they say Turn A ties in every gundam series together don’t you find it weird that only the UC stuff is being dug up and nothing else?

which leads me to a crazy idea that Turn A is set in our timeline, some people with lots of money and likes gundam builds mobile suits for fun, creates the Turn series and some maniac depressed pilot decides to wipe out the earth using Turn A

Hey Crusader, I’m one of the ‘old folk’ who count Turn A as one of the better Gundam series ever produced, outside of the 08th Mobile Suit Team and the much-maligned Gundam X (which I liked due to the quirky happy ending it got).

The only real problem with Turn A was the big reveal on the Moon, and how it made Turn A look like the sum of all previous Gundam universes (including mutually exclusive ones like UC, Wing, X, and G!). It would have made more sense for Tomino to pass off Turn A as the far future of UC, post G-Savior.

You have to wonder about the Zeons though, they must have been on a frenzy, burying suits (even carriers like the Gallop!) everywhere…
