The spirit in human shape was a good part, as you mentioned, although my favorite moment was the reversal of worship as seen from episode 2 in which Natsume gave offering to Tsuyukami; now the two dunce spirits give Natsume offering. I thought, besides those two spirits being mostly comic relief, that their role was enjoyable, you even get to see some development in them although their development was largely dependent upon the increasing amount of information on Natsume that the viewer receives. And I was glad that Tanuma-glare-a-lot wasn't a cliche glaring-in-the-light-megane-machiavelli along the lines of Ishida et. al. I thought this episode was better than the last. I agree, this episode doesn't leave with much of a hanger but isn't that the point? This is a very episodal type anime. I get the Mushishi vibes from it a lot. I actually like the mood it gives off.
