What Rinrin is not cute? You obviously have no idea about moe. Didn’t you notice her cute hairclip that’s like alive and follow her emotions? It’s an accessory of cuteness!
Of course, if you dislike the whole idea of tomboyish loli, sure you’ll hate her. But in the game she was the only character calling the protagonist ‘onii-chan’ while all others girls would call him ‘master’.
Also, you’re right about Cao Cao, she’s not a loli. Only retards would think she is.

@LDC: nope I enjoy this show as well ,but not this episode. But I imagine that if I knew anything about the 3 kingdoms I would despise the show as well, after all ignorance is bliss as they say.

I can’t blame people for the hatred though. If I imagine someone trying to pull this with something like the Iliad, I … I would fong them till their outsides are in, their insides are out. Until their entrails become their extrails.

@Gaguri: Yep, that only happened in the novel because they want to show the difference of Yuan Shao and Liu Bei. I could be very wrong on this, but I do not remember that much of a focus in the historical text. Hah, I do wonder whether he has any capable officers who are sly enough to do so.

@Yamcha: hahaha, what’s wrong with that. Crusader talks about Prussian military history, and I like my ROTK and the historical text of the three kingdoms era. ^^ join in the conversation, or simply talk about the anime that makes Wen Chou and Yan Liang naked bishoujos with swan floats.

Oh, I’m not saying there was conflict between Liu Bei and Yuan Shao. If I remember correctly Impz, Liu Bei was within Yuan Shao’s camp whole time during the his conflict with Cao Cao (when Guan Yu was under Cao Cao’s service). He could’ve lost his head three times but slipped through with his words. My point from the start was that Yuan Shao is too proud and can not think through his decisions, which makes him easy target to be persuaded and manipulated through words by other people, especially his sly subordinates. This is of course…all coming from novel.

@Gaguri: Arr. I don’t think Liu Bei did anything to manipulate Yuan Shao that much anyway. They have little contact if any to be honest. The conflict is generally with Cao Cao for Yuan Shao.

@Ex: I think that it is a foregone conclusion for Zhao Yun. The thing is that Zhao Yun was not of noble birth when he was with Gongsun Zan. Liu Bei, despite his heritage, is not stable at all due to the fact that his declaration of power. In fact, in the historical text, Liu Bei was under the protection of Gongsun Zan during the usurping of the throne by Dong Zhuo. I think the story about Lu Bu fighting with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei is a legendary scene in the novel.

In fact (this fact I did not know until I checked out), in 192 Zhao Yun was placed under the authority of Liu Bei, who at the time held only the rank of a major under Gongsun Zan, as a commander of Liu Bei’s cavalry forces. Liu Bei had a contingent of several thousand Wuhuan cavalry and Zhao Yun was put in charge of this force. That is perhaps where Zhao Yun got to know the chivalry and leadership of Liu Bei.

It must be said that there has been no indication that Zhao Yun would have defected to Liu Bei if Gongsun Zan did not die, but I guess we will never know. Nonetheless, it’s amusing how the three major warlords of the era recruited in differing ways. I leave that for a later discussion. =3

I think you guys need to remember who it was that Zhao Yun left Gongsun Zan (Even thought Gingsun Zan was Dead by the time Zhao yun Joined Liu Bei) for. I don’t believe that Zhao yun ever thought that Gongsun Zan was incompetent and even if he were i don’t think Zhao Yun really would of cared. I think that if Liu Bei had not existed and didn’t get murdered by Yuan Shao, Zhao Yun would have stayed with Gongsun Zan because really what Zhao Yun was looking for was Someone who cares about the people and country, and boy that surely descrides Liu Bei.

Thus now you need to compare Gongsun Zan with Liu Bei, You can see why Liu Bei was a much Better choice then Gongsun:
1. Liu Bei was related to the Emperor
2. Despite being related to the Emperor, Liu Bei grew up in humble beginnings.
3. He had Guan Yu and Zhang Fei
4. He had the same views as all the other Warlords at the time but he was probably the most convincing.

How could Zhao Yun not favour Liu Bei over Gongsun Zan?

Moving on, most warlords at the time had vision, ambition and resolution to change the world of chaos. The only difference between Cao Cao, Liu Bei and the rest of them were at they where lucky enough to score a handful of useful people and didn’t have a stick up their arse if they were peasents or not.

Cao Cao, most useful at scoring handfuls of people from the Enemies he defeated such as Zhang Liao and Zhang He.
