Thought it was a pretty solid first episode. The two leads are pretty likable so that's a good reason to keep following. Helps that Ran's abilities aren't completely coming out of nowhere. Though pretty sure its the first time her severe dislike of someone led to objects flying at them :).

Will keep on following to see how things develop. Certainly need to deal with Midori before she does more than give Rui a sore neck.

@LDC: Well, there isn't any fanservice to be honest. DFC is more of a sexual form, but the graphics in this anime is made in such a way that there is little sexuality exuding from Ran or any other characters.

@Blissmo: Haha, that's good. I am still wondering how this show will be turning out though.

@Jen: I am more ambivalent as I stated earlier, but it has promise for sure. I tend to be skeptical when graphical quality is somewhat low.

@Dais: I highly doubt so if you are looking for eye candy.

Like Hashihime, I found episode 1 to be great. The characters and all the mystery suspense feel got me hooked, and now this show has made it in my Summer watch list.

I think I'll watch this. It looks cute and I haven't watched any mystery show for a long time.
Also I agree, Ikkoutousen has too much boobs for even meself to enjoy. DFC FTW!

@Hashihime: For the show itself, I enjoyed it even though I felt that there is something missing that will probably be filled up by the next few episodes. The characters, as I said, is of utmost importance in any series that seems to aim at drama/slice of life, and Telepathy Shoujo Ran has done nothing as yet to make me feel that the characters are bad. They are not great yet, but one episode can tell nothing.

Originality, by any measure in an artistic form, is way over-rated. I do not agree with anyone who says that if it is not original, it is not good. Good and popular stuff are usually things that make use of already established material and gives a twist to it that fits the criteria of the viewer.

@L-chan: arrr, Skip Beat. Shoujo? I am in! I love shoujo.

@Lyi: Good to see you viewing it. I do not know whether any of the other bloggers will be blogging on this as yet though.

@Halcyon: I must admit that I have not watched "Please save my earth" before. It's not classic mahou shoujo (definitely not in the Nanoha or Saint Ooctober type), but more alike toward Kamichu and Dennou Coil. However, do note that I am not prophesying that Telepathy Shoujo Ran can hit the heights of those two great series. I am very unsure about that because I have not been bowled over as yet.

For the other two, I was impressed by the first episode. I am waiting to be impressed.

I enjoyed Kamichu and this first ep reminds me more of a light-hearted Please Save My Earth (which definitely needed at least 12 ep if not more to really flesh out the story).

It definitely looks like it's worth a few episodes to look at before making a strong decision.

TBH, I was surprised. Looking at the description, this show looked like your typical magical high-shoujo which is becoming more boring, cliche and trite by the series but this one looks somewhat fun and interesting, so far.

Princess Tutu comparisons = win. That would've spurred me to check this show out if I hadn't already been planning on it :).

It's funny that you mention Princess Tutu, because you should be looking forward to Fall Season because it has the new anime adaption of Skip Beat! An awesome shoujo manga with a strong heroine, which will be animated by HAL studios of Princess Tutu fame and also have the same director. It can only mean good things.

As for this show, I'm on the fence. Let's see where it goes.

I loved episode one. I thought the look was unique and pleasant, the music was good, and the characters were engaging. At least through one episode. I think originality is highly overrated, especially when a show can give a new feeling to old memes.
