I’m getting a bit tired of these mediocre episodes I’m getting from To Love-Ru. Although, I can’t say that there was much to expect in the first place, but it’s kind of short on the comedy and fanservice levels sometimes. This episode did manage to make me laugh a little bit though and I can’t wait for the next episode where they finally show Yami-chan.

P.S. I apologize ahead of time if my ramblings seem a bit scatter or incoherent. Being sleep deprived seems to break any logic that attempts to flow out of your mind. Go figure.

Summary

Lala is visited by an eccentric alien by the name of Stellar (Stella?) who happens to be the president of Lala’s fan club. Apparently she came to Earth to try and get Lala to come back with her to produce an idol CD. However, Lala refuses because she happens to like Earth and is “engaged” to Rito. This puts Stellar into a shock which happens to also turn her into stone. Stellar blames this on Rito and forces him to take responsibility by finding her another candidate for an idol.

After searching around, Stellar finds Haruna and immediately wants to take her and turn her into a celebrity. Rito is totally against the idea and goes to great lengths to stop Stellar from capturing Haruna. However, Rito’s heroics are not rewarded due to the suggestive positions he’s always put into while trying to save Haruna.

Once Stellar gives up on trying to capture Haruna, Rito suggests that she should just explain the situation to Lala. Mikan brings up the idea that she may want to try out being a space idol and Stellar comes up with the idea for Mikan and Rito to become a comedy act with brother and sister entertainers. Lala jumps in on the idea and the plan escalates further into a sibling and couple trio. But just when they were getting into it, Stellar is called back to her headquarters after hearing news that the tax collectors were there since they’ve apparently been avoiding taxes.

And that ends this pretty random and pointless episode.

Impressions

Well like I’ve said, this episode did have a few good moments that made me laugh a bit and the fanservice was ‘okay’ at best. I really don’t know where they come up with these scenarios since they’re very much different from the usual theme of the manga. I commend them for trying out something different, but it doesn’t really work for me. It’s probably because I’m bias towards the manga version than the anime version so as a fan I’m pretty disappointed. But even if I experiencing this for the first time, I doubt my opinions would change much.

Anyways, another episode down and hopefully much better ones to come… especially with Yami-chan appearing in the next episode. Please please please don’t butcher it up. XD

@Dando008: Indeed she does. I also look forward to it.

@Fabian: Yeah, a lot of the episodes so far have been a bust, but there have been and probably will be a few gems out of the To Love-Ru anime. I’ll continue to watch and cover TLR till the end probably even if the remaining episodes aren’t that great.
