Please don’t make me shovel any more damn snow!
This entry is a bit late, for a couple of reasons. Started a new internship this week and in my spare time I’ve been finishing up the summer anime preview so the writing staff can comment on it. Expect it to be out in a week or so, barring any major delays.
So I’m wondering, does this qualify as the furthest you can go without showing actual nipple? Once again I’m reminded that this show is televised at 10:30am Saturday mornings. I keep thinking that as I watch this episode and it makes me laugh uncontrollably. Sometimes I love Japan.
A challenger appears! Er, well sort of. This was the girl shown in last week’s preview, and I’ll have to admit, the ability to control snow seems kind of out of place. So far we have tons of animal spirits, but they don’t really say that she is an animal, just that she controls snow. I know you are probably thinking “why are you examining plot holes in this show?” Sometimes I can’t help it.
Another person who comes along and doubts them, saying that humans and spirits don’t mix, yada yada. Although by the dialogue here it is sugguested that Chizuru’s mom perhaps had some indecent relations with a human herself. Of course the snow girl has to “test” them, and proceeds to freeze the school…brrrrrrrrrr I hate snow.
Haha, poor loli in a tub being forced to uh, produce oil. This whole situation looks very dirty, there’s a loli wearing a school swimsuit in a tub while her old man teacher tells her to make liquid. Indecent I say! The hibernating joke was pretty amusing as well, after all they are all animal spirits~
Weekly quota, all hail!
Those are two really creepy twins. I think this was the most lines they have ever got in an episode, and to put it lightly, they are quite detached from common sense and reality. Still, pretty amusing antics regardless.
Oh man someone get that kid a cold shower, getting some hand service from both girls at the same time? And lordy does Mamiko Noto make some really interesting squirming/moaning sounds when she’s trying to sound shouta. I think Kanokon has somehow found another line to cross, I wasn’t sure it was possible to do so while still not being porn, but wow they managed it once again. Omedetou!
Trap shouta saves the day once again! Kind of anticlimactic as well as predictable, but hey for a plot insert it wasn’t all that bad. It was certainly watchable and not melodramatic. Do note that DFC wolfu looked very cute as a snowball.
Overall it was a fun episode to watch, they were able to throw in enough plot to sort of move the series along a bit, but not too much to detract from the normal antics. They introduced some future plot elements like the potential trip to see Chizuru’s mother which I’m sure will cause Kouta much anguish, and hints of other spirit matters. Plus they managed to cross another line with the handjob scene, good job folks. Oh, and apparently Chizuru is 400 years old? Those are some perky breasts for such an age…
Next Episode:
Onsen episode, and by what Chizuru said near the beginning of the episode that her hometown was nothing but snow and onsens we may be visiting there.

Apparently, the content of Kanokon has become too sexy for the internet and has been pulled from the online streaming sites that it is hosted on. It is reported that it was the most popular anime on that site among male and female elementary school kids. I love this show.

Well, they did show the actual nipple at 10:51 am
Well, it’s shown on cable tv where you actually have to pay for it, so I don’t think anyone can just flip to the channel and watch it.

I prefer Chizuru, but I can see how Nozomu fans would feel disappointed that she so often plays second fiddle. She’s really only had a lot of screen time in one episode, where she was introduced.

Because it’s on cable? You can do a lot more on cable, but I can’t say I know all the Japanese broadcasting rules.
Just to note, but I’ll edit this in the post itself as well, that the online streaming services of Kanokon have removed it from their site for being too sexy or whatever. I think it’s hilarious.

what, you never heard of ‘yuki onna’ or ’snow girl’ before? the thing that should be out of place is why she’s dressed like a ninja.
Youkai comes in many different froms and does not have to come from only animals… although its easier to comprehend and more versatile.
