Hahaha! LOL…yeah! Fag.
Nabari no Ou entries are not going to be of epic proportions (yet). Due to some “complications” I guess I’ll be handling Nabari mostly by myself. This wasn’t the planned idea, so you’ll have to give me a week or two to redo my mindset and get this series kicked into gear. For now, you get a glimpse of some ideas stolen from my future Soul Eater posts, as well as my outlook on the show and where it could go.
And by the way, for anyone who’s interested I’ve shortened my name to just “Rieu Riex”…may the lazy (me) rejoice!
Let’s start out by saying that I LOVE this show, it’s great. However, as it has become the substitute for Naruto in my blogging world I find myself compelled to blog it in a similar manner. These posts are more than likely going to filled with a substantial dose of vitriolic commentary, just know that at the heart I love this show no matter how much I make fun of or praise it.

Uh huh. I bet one day you’ll be the Hokage too, right?
Stolen from future Soul Eater posts, the Bullet Speed Summary:
- A new character, Raimei is introduced. She arrives in Banten village to examine the Shinrabanshou’s worthiness as a leader in the “psh…are you even cool enough to be king?” manner. This eventually leads to her discovering that Miharu isn’t a cold-hearted bastard and blah blah blah…we’ve seen this drill before.
- Miharu has been secretly practicing his ninja techniques, and once Raimei finds out she decides to take Miharu to her native village of Fuma. It is here that she hopes to introduce him to Fuma Kotaru, a leading authority on all things related to ninja techniques. The group takes a train to Tokyo and a bus from there to the woodlands where Fuma village is located. Along the way we discover that Tobari is afraid of riding in vehicles and walks everywhere he goes.
- Upon arriving at the woodlands, Raimei starts describing the “Mist” technique that keeps Fuma village hidden. As the group progresses further into the woods they discover that somehow the mist technique has been destroyed and the village attacked…

*crush* Lucky Miharu…
Not a whole lot of action going on in this episode, although we did get a closer look at some of the quirks of our protagonists. Tobari sensei is afraid of vehicles, Kouichi instantly gets an uber crush on Samurai-Blonde, Miharu likes to save birds…and Raimei has a habit of mistaking people’s identities. I’ve only read a little further than this in the manga, so I know enough to be excited about the next couple of episodes but I’m as lost as anyone else after that.
I’m trying to come up with appropriate nicknames (semi-stolen from future Soul Eater posts, though not as in depth) for all the characters and reader suggestions are welcome. Samurai-Blonde is staying because it’s just way too fitting. I don’t have any great ideas for the other characters yet although I do like calling Kouichi “Fag”. That’s not very original however…

Didn’t someone ask for a million pictures of this guy? Maybe I should call him “Oh shi-! Sensei”
Highlight: My personal favorite moment from this episode (and probably what I’ve read of the manga) is when Miharu totally disarms two opposing basketballs players with just a look. Absolutely hilarious, especially when you add their line “My parents would’ve killed me.” Go watch it again…absolutely classic.

-.-Y I had some real life issues -.-y You meanie…
Besides, your nickname is Riex, not Rieu. Rieu sounds like a Street Fighter clone…
GARLolicon Extrange added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 9:32 amI thought that was hilarious as well.
For Miharu, why not go with his canon nickname? The Master of Apathy. Or better yet, “Mr -_-” seems appropriate. Kouichi is a Gopher. He just reminds me of one.
Blue added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 9:41 amHaha, the basketball bit was my favourite scene of the entire episode. Followed closely by the animated version of Miharu’s disastrous wardrobe choice for the trip.
And…here comes fangirl mode: OMG YOITE NEXT EP. GIEF. DO WANT
Ruk added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 9:48 amHeh, yeah. Miharu’s pout was priceless.
Myu added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 10:01 amI adore this show..The characters are amusing and really interesting *__*
eipu added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 1:20 pmMiharu’s “devil in disguise” moments are definitely highlights of the show so far. I love when they draw those devil wings.
Calaveth added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 2:16 pmI agree, I loved the basketball part. But what made me actually love this episode even more is the fact that the “evil?” guy will appear next time. And he looks so insane~ Or yandere in some way. I hope he is and if any of you do know, DO NOT TELL ME!! Let this girl have a moment of fantasizing lols
blissmo added these pithy words on Apr 18 08 at 3:38 pmWell you already know I loved this episode ^-^
I’ve been calling Kouichi, Yasu. Because this episode especially he’s been reminding me of Yasuhara from Ghost Hunt.
And YAY a nice big picture of smexy sense, Riex I love you! ^-^ Yes smexy sensei, he who is the master of the awesome deer caught in headlights look. It really suits him and often makes me laugh.
And then there is the automaton Miharu. Who when he isn’t staring blankly into space. Can be remarkably devilish. I have to agree I love it when they animate him all devil like. And his use of cute to get what he wants, ala the basketball scene is pure genius.
“Uh huh. I bet one day you’ll be the Hokage too, right?” “BELIEVE IT” Now look what you made me type, I hope you’re happy! ![]()
yayyyy thanks for blogging!!
Yoite next ep! Can’t wait. =]
Hoshi added these pithy words on Apr 19 08 at 8:23 pm@Extrange
Or a Breath of Fire clone…
@Blue
I don’t know where you got the gopher thing from…but “Mr -.-” I genius. It’s a keeper in my book, gratz!
@Ruk
I saw that wardrobe in the manga, but LOL @ it in the anime. Even more than that, I thought the reactions from the other characters was great.
@Myu
I’ll say it again “My parents would have killed me!”
@eipu
It’s definitely the characters more than the action that make this show great right now.
@Calaveth
Doesn’t the style of the “devil mode” drawing remind you of Disgaea?
@blissmo
Evil guy is evil (and awesome!). Btw, I just watched the new Naruto…I wonder if the next ep is going to consist of Naruto cutting leaves with his chakra for 20 minutes.
@D.J.
“BELIEVE IT” LOL! I am happy. It’s also good to know that I’m loved, even if it is because of some other, better-looking animated man.
@Hoshi
You’re welcome…Sorry it was late! The plot gets SERIOUS next ep! Sort of.
from Rieuzedx to Riex…
I guess I can still call your trap version Lady Riex. ![]()
(reference post: Sappy thoughts )
Am not a big fan of ninja animes but I might give this one a try. Reading about it seems to make it more interesting than I first thought.

@KaeBoo
Wait until you see the post for episode 03…it’s in the queue. Should post in like 6hrs.
I’ll say it again “My parents would have killed me!”
That’s funny……………………………………. except it was a mistranslation.
(”My conscious wouldn’t allow me.”)
