I’ve heard about SOUL EATER from a friend and i thought it would be just like other shounen shows but i was wrong. Out of curiosity, i watched the first ep and was completely blown away! I like the action scenes, the fight was pretty decent, and i like the fact that Maka fought only with the weapon with no magic and still kicked ass. I’m definitely going to stick around and watch this series^_^

Really, I don’t think Gurren Lagann comparison is not a bad one. I never understood the unnecessary Gurren Lagann hate either.

So the show is GAR, has tons of great action, lots of boobs, what more can a viewer want? It’s going to be a love it or hate it deal for some. But I wish those who keep hating on it drop it instead of watching it whole then pretending they hate the show.

When I was a little kid I used to think it was really cool that megatron turned into a gun, but as an adult I kind of feel that a character turning into someone else’s weapon is a really, really stupid concept. That aside, the animation for the fights was very nice. So soul eater has bones making its anime and Square making its game - I wish my favorite mangas had gotten such lucky treatment.

I agree with Levihan that there is a kind of Gurren Lagany feel to it, though I can’t quite put my finger on why, its quite subtle and theres obviously a lot more frames of animation in the action scenes of soul eater than GL, I guess its more about the style.

I didn’t like it. Too much of garblob bullshiting about how much they should be manly & cool. Too similar too GL.
I hate shows like this. Hope we won’t see any more ego-based shows in the future.
Also, I would really love it if some girl would have beat the crap out of those garblobs.

Why would they even do a LN verson? Since when did they do that in japan? Beacuse that’s news to me…
