IMO, Studio Deen always have great character design (Shion no Ou, Hatenkou Yuugi). It’s their animation that has problems.

For me, the only thing of interest so far is Kuchiha’s hair. Come on! She’s using it as a scarf! I have to say, I went all google eyed when she tossed her hair around her neck.

Also, I had a moment confusion as to whether Kuchiha was female or male. From her costume, especially the upper part of the torso, it looks vaguely female, but with her voice (Paku always reminds me of Edward) and her face she could have passed as a bishounen.

@Kaijin: The episode number is tentative but we don’t know if they want to make what I call a FMA move (follow the manga for a few eps, then screw the plot and close the story with a anime-only ending). I would rather have only 13 eps this season and give a 6 month break, so that more manga chapters are published.

I can’t wait for a subbed release, I’ve been looking forward to this. Rather than a typical shounen fighting anime with little plot, this series seems like it’ll focus more on character development and an intriguing plot. Although, I don’t think it will be only 13 episodes, as far as I know, there hasn’t been a set number of episodes given to this series yet. If you’re basing this on ANN info, then that’s just the usual episode air dates that has been confirmed thus far. I think a series like this can easily be 26 episodes.

I must say that the series has intrigued. Strangely enough, I am the type of person who likes long expositions compared to most viewers. Yes, it is supposed to be an animation, but I do not need fancy fighting scenes. I like deepness in words, and considering the concise style of anime, there is a need sometimes to have more verbose speeches.

Character design is good, surprisingly for Studio Deen who has so many series on its hand. Studio Deen is really doing well for now, but who knows for later. From what I have heard from animesuki commentators, the series will only get better. I am following this for sure.

It has impressed me enough, and Kuchina is hot. VERY HOT.
