This is how it ends.
Slag. Damn you Hiromi (fires AK-47 angrily into the air)! Okay now that my fury at Noe crying semi-sad tears has largely passed I think I can write a bit more about what happened. Hiromi and Shin are a couple, hooray. I can at least console myself with the fact that Hiromi has moved on a bit form her old ways, at least she knows that she was being a nasty woman, but at least she started to change. When Hiromi started confessing her faults I already saw the fist signs of Hiromi ascendant. When Shin’s face lit up when Hiromi said she loved him Noe getting a broken heart was a foregone conclusion. I guess the childhood friend thing really ran that deep. I’ll keep this short since I don’t have the words to describe the anguish I felt when Noe walked off on her own.

I don’t hate you, I just don’t like you…

Amen.
I just hope that now that Hiromi has everything (plus Shin) she ever wanted that she will be all the better for it. Not sure how doing a split is important, but okay. In all honesty I wasn’t even teary eyed by the time the final confession took place. Noe took all of them. Just nuts… Even if it was a less than perfect love with the selfishness so long as they are happy I can refrain from burning them in effigy. Yeah love isn’t fair sometimes. Well cheers to Hiromi and those who never once wavered in their conviction to support her. Still it was good to see how Jun demonstrated his superiority in tearing apart her less than genuine words regarding Noe’s condition. Jun is still the master of the weirding way. I am also glad that Hiromi was able to reconcile a bit more with Kanae and if the parallel holds then Hiromi is in the same position Kanae was all those years ago when Mrs. Yuasa was able to make her husband’s heart waver. Still they are family now and Hiromi is now going to be stuck with them both as step parents and as in laws. I wonder how that wedding will play out…

Me too.

Yep, same here.

Indeed.
Well Noe got rejected by Shin-chan, and it did make me very sad when Shin declared his love for Hiromi. At least Shin recognized the fact that he loved Noe too, but in the end loved Hiromi more. I did not expect the guy to cry, but it was a mark of how if Hiromi had not even been a factor he would have fallen through the earth for Noe rather than just fall hard. When Shin-chan broke he went down on both knees. Well I guess he wasn’t just leading Noe on then and Noe was the light that allowed him and eventually Hiromi to shine. I am glad that Noe was able to rebuild a life of her own on her own power. Perhaps some day when she is ready to love again she will find a nice guy who will help her out of a tree. Who ever that guy happens to be he will be a very lucky guy.

Yay.

(Ascaloth, Stripey, Kurogane, and Kabitzin pile in only for Mentar to vault over them and get first dibbs.)

No they wanted to see…
I have to give credit to Noe for not just breaking down into tears from the outset and tried to find her own strength. I accept the time skip as measure to show how Noe was able to get on with her after Shin and Jun left. It was fitting that spring was the time when Noe cried again because it was the culmination of her efforts to renew her broken heart and look confidently towards her future. Life goes on and time will heal all wounds though not always fully. In hindsight may her tears were of joy, joy that her meeting with Shin-chan eventually netted her handsome dividends or they were of sadness at her first failed love, perhaps a little bit of both.

Step-by-step, day by day, let’s start over…

I really wanted to hate this guy right now, but I couldn’t kick a guy if he was this down and out.

Advance!
As for the good man Jun he has taken his love for Noe to a place far enough and maybe one day Tomoyo will waltz into his life. After all one as simple as Tomoyo would be unaffected by Jun’s powers, still Tomoyo is missing her shots. One day she will make one but until then Jun’s love for Noe runs deep. I still wish they had expanded on Jun a bit more but as it stands I can write him off as a man of few words. I still wish they would have given us the juicy details of Kanae’s hatred of Mrs. Yuasa, but I suppose that we are just going to have to believe the Mrs. Yuasa was more like Noe than Hiromi.

Yep.

…

…

Yes Hiromi’s hero, but not mine, not Shirukii’s, or the other Shin’s.
Nobuse and Aiko are doing well and Aiko seems much more radiant now that she is no longer dreading Nobuse’s company. I trust that by the time they marry that Aiko’s heart will no longer waver in the face of Shin, and Nobuse can call upon Shin to be his best man without fear. I still liked how even Nobuse was shocked that Shin and Hiromi were back together. Clearly Nobuse also favors Noe as a good girl.

Aiko is in love again.

With you Nobuse…(put down the knife)
It was a fun ride and it felt good to get some closure even if Noe’s fate was bittersweet. I still think Noe was the catalyst for the major developments. I liked her the moment she jumped out of her tree and into Shin’s life. It was because of Noe’s inspiration that Shin became a man for Hiromi, and it was because of Noe that both Hiromi and Aiko were compelled to confess. Aiko went bust quickly, while Hiromi was forced to end her sitzkrieg strategy and get out of her jealous rut even if by a little. Noe brought two couples together. Nobuse sought her help in letting Aiko go, and Shin needed Noe to be his guide and help him realize what he really wanted and to do what he had to do. I still think Noe deserved better, but now she can stand on her own. I hope she becomes a great woman who will make Shin regret ever letting her go.

The friendship between women is a glorious thing, besides megane girl is hawt even at this distance. Usagijen will always be Noe’s friend till the end they just haven’t met yet.

I would love to wake up to this.
Ah well, no hard feelings and it was great to see that True Tears did turn out great even if some of us wrote it off when it was first announced. PA Works deserves to be commended for the great job they did, they dangled the possibility of a Noe end so brilliantly that many of us who dared to hope bought it lock, stock, and barrel. The music was as always excellent and the still frames were pretty and colored. I look forward to more from PA Works and hopefully the spark, the charm, and the story will all be there in their next production.

Back where it all began…

So here will it end.
Noe is at least happy, and though she is on her own now I think she will be fine. Thanks for supporting Noe, Aiko, and Hiromi. Thanks for watching. Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.

Tears of the Three Views is in good hands…

Yeah I know, we’re doomed.
Andohbytheway Hiromi when Noe’s daughter gets adopted by Shin-chan, do not act like Kanae. Remember you owe Noe big time for turning Shin into a man.

What ever you do, do not ever take off your mellow glasses. They are the only thing keeping Jealous Hiromi from sticking out her ugly head. Megane Hiromi is fine too, seriously.

Fin.

Was very happy with the ending, then again I was a Hiromi fan from the start. Though, I did go from not liking Noe to thinking she was great. I would have been fine with either girl ending up the victor.
Great show, will be sad to see it gone, but it certainly has a spot in my top romance shows of all time.
Hope whatever PA Works does next is just as brilliant!
Karisu added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:19 pmI really wanted a Noe ending! And I lol’d when Shinichirou was singing off-key, but tried to hold it in because it was serious business. Anyway, I guess this was the only way Noe could get her tears back, unless she cries of happiness if Shinichirou had accepted her.
Noe x Shinichirou > Shinichirou x Hiromi
That’s what Dr Frankenstein told me. Shinchirou was never good at maths to begin with. I also mentioned this in “other” Shin’s blog XD
Blissmo added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:20 pmWell I tried not to be too mournful on my blog post but since I’m posting in some comments, let me just say that I was waiting for your blog post so I could be cheered up. I guess in a way, though, those writers proved what we’ve been saying all along. In that scene where Shin basically says “I drew and also did my dance because of you and only you but….er..I like Hiromi bye”. So they affirm what we’ve been thinking that Noe had a much bigger impact but then shoot us down anyways. Well, that final shot was beautiful. A fitting end. Oh, and thanks for your blogging of this show, this blog & Shirukii’s were the ones I checked every week, you guys seriously added to my entertainment watching this show with your great posts.
PS I wrote it off when reading the preview as well…seriously, that preview did not describe the series well at all!
Theowne added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:22 pmI find solace in the fact that their relationship will one day crumble. Hiromi has much in common with Kanae, and Shin abhors various traits of his mom, fun times that will be.
Either that or one day Hiromi will knife the poor guy for looking at another girl.
Shirukii added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:37 pmSigh… I also was hoping for a Noe ending, but I guess you can’t say no to the split. ^^ Anyway, it was a good anime in my eyes and i loved how the writers kept things interesting throughout the show.
Noe > Hiromi !
Tofumaro added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:40 pmGreat and entertaining entry !
Yet… Hiromi ftw ![]()
Best winter show hands down. But I’m voting for R+V for second place, so you probably shouldn’t listen to my opinion. xD Hehe.
rieuzedx added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:49 pmAh defeat, we meet again in another form… (T.T)
As much as your post consoles me, I still can’t get rid of the feeling that Noe got shafted! I mean from the way it looked it could have gone the other way since Shinichiro really loved both of them.
I ask of every Noe fan out there to not touch their PC/Laptops for 5 minutes in mourning for the “Noe BAD end”…
Gravmech added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 6:55 pmHeh, if you were really Noe fans, you would be happy for her instead of wishing she had “won” Shinichiro so that you could be right! Noe gains nothing out of having Shinichiro as a BF, but learning to deal with pain and find her own strength means that she won at the end as well. A real Noe bad end would be if she fell out of the tree and hit her head on the rocks that Shinichiro used for his confession.
Kabitzin added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 7:59 pmdang… no nice boat…
Raigomaru x Noe forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rollchan added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 8:05 pmAt first, I lamented what I thought was Noe not being selfish, and didn’t fight against Hiromi like the way Hiromi was doing against Noe. Then, I realized that Noe gave up since episode 9 probably because she does know that love is selfish, and rightly wanted all of Shin’s heart. Shin is such a @&#$@$ flirt!! You don’t tell someone that you love them without giving your whole entire heart!!!! Unforgivable to mislead Noe. Noe may be moe, but she isn’t just a cat for you to pet!! Of course she makes your heart waver, Shin, you flirt! (rant over) The only thing I’ll give him is for feeling the shame enough to cry.
It’s better that Noe walked off alone; she had to do it — Shin’s too weak — this way, it looks more like she dumped him.
No, no, no, Tomoyo would not make a good sister-in-law for Noe. She’s a mindless Hiromi-shipper. I would love Noe for a sister-in-law; not sure about Jun though, although I’m quite grateful for those words to Hiromi. Anyhow, what is it that Jun knows that Shin didn’t about why Noe wasn’t able to cry? I’m beginning to suspect that it was for her brother’s sake that Noe chose to not cry. I was sad that “only” her oba-chan could collect her tears; but I got a fuzzy feeling from the tears being heaven-ward — Noe’s tears are too moe… so much love and selflessness… that is, I’d like to interpret it as Shin having died, at least to her.
Thanks for the (intelligent) comradery for the past couple of episodes. I just had to come here to get closure to my own TT ride. Much respect!
Youko added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 8:07 pmYou know what’s hillarious?
I haven’t watched poo tears and so without me watching beyond ep 1 I had predicted he’d end up with the long haired chick…mainly cause short haired chick annoyed me to no end.
So even though I haven’t watched the show, hooray! He didn’t end up with the annoying one!
Hinano added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 8:24 pm“Ah well, no hard feelings and it was great to see that True Tears did turn out great even if some of us wrote it off when it was first announced.”
You know what’s funny, the show started off fine and then turned into exactly what I was predicting it would become before the season started. Guess that’s why I stopped watching it over a month ago :p
Calawain added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 8:42 pmA great ending to a great anime. *clap* *clap* *clap*
I am sad that Noe had to truly let go of Shin, and I cried as she walked away with Shin singing behind her, but she was ultimately able to overcome her pain, and became a better person for it. Never fear Noe. Someday you will meet your true love!(half the blogsphere will probably be willing to step up as possible suitors).
But if Hiromi was to be the endgirl, she finally made herself worthy of that honor, and forced Shin to be worthy of ending up with anyone at all. I admit I laughed out loud when Hiromi at first rejected going out with him.
Well now the story is sold, the winner is known, and it’s be an absolutely fantastic ride. I look forward to more stuff from this studio. It’s a true tribute to P.A. Works that even though my precious Noe did not end up with Shin, I can be truly happy with the ending(the fact that Noe can be considered to have won in the end too doesn’t hurt of course).
NOE IS MOE! ALL GLORY TO NOE!
Dirian added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 9:30 pmMrs. Nakagami’s name isn’t Kanae.
I’m actually kinda sad this show turned in to a Hiromi camp vs Noe camp slugfest, and ended with half rejoicing and half disappointed.
Overall, this series was an awesome one, in terms of the drama buildup and character development.
Kurogane added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 9:57 pmHeh, Hiromi might’ve been the chosen girl, but I wasn’t wrong when I said the girl that affected Shin the most was Noe (picturebook, flying, dance yadayada). That wasn’t enough for a Noe ending, but he did love Noe afterall. It’s just that he had to stay true to his current convictions lol The highlight of this episode definitely was the breakup (Waver Shin, suffer and waver!) and the credits. The cheesy scene in the woods was kind of bland, and even if this is a Hiromi ending, the VIP here was definitely Noe. I watched the credits and thought she is really way better off without Shin.
And also, it’s exactly as you said. Noe’s like this phenomenon that shook Shin’s monotonous, boring life with Hiromi and stirred a change. Noe needs to have her own show, seriously.
Ricaryx added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 10:29 pmI didn’t really like the ending to be honest. For one, it’s too clean-clean and it reminds me of Kimikiss of girls just acting WAY too courteously for there to be much drama. Also, Noe’s brother is just a total mental case and that is what paved the way for the whole series’ drama? Give me a break. Overall, well made, but the plot was just ridiculous ever since Noe’s brother entered the picture.
Shippoyasha added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 10:49 pmIn the end, I feel that it was Noe who truly won Shin-chan’s heart. The missing last page of the picture book, Shin asking his father when does a person cry, him admitting that even if he’s in love with Hiromi, his heart wavers whenever he lays eyes on Noe.. Especially during the scene where Noe was walking away and Shin-chan started singing, when he approached “in Shinichiro’s heart”, for a moment there I thought he was going to say Isurugi Noe. But he didn’t. In his heart was Yuasa Hiromi, and there he was, shouting that desperately, as if using that confession to force himself to forget Noe. And he was crying. Crying true tears for Noe, not anyone else. What Shin-chan chose, was to be strong and support Hiromi, like he had always wanted. However, the person he truly opened his heart to was Noe.
To end on a happy note, Jun is simply an epitome of pure marvelousness. And even if our dearest Noe didn’t kiss him goodbye, she said that she would have never hurt him, had she known his true feelings from the beginning. Potential OVA material, anyone?
Thanks for blogging the series, Crusader. It was fun.
Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe!
Myu added these pithy words on Mar 30 08 at 11:23 pmActually I wouldn’t mind having a peek if Noe’s were visible too, except you’d probably shoot me with some type of arms I didn’t even know existed. :p
Ascaloth added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 12:12 am@Karisu
True Tears has indeed been a great show, hopefully PA Works will do just as well with their next series.
@Blissimo
Noe is happy so its not like she was utterly crushed. The off key song was sad in a way, it signified that Shin had basically left Noe for good. Noe will always be the winner in my book.
@Theowne
Thanks. It was nice to see that Shin was at least partly in love with Noe if only intellectually. He owes her a lot, and in many ways so does Hiromi and Aiko. I hope that my post has dulled the pain of Noe’s single hood in some way.
@Shirukii
As much I resented Hiromi I don’t want them to end that badly, but I do hope Shin’s Hiromi book never gets published, and Noe’s does. Hehe. So long as Shin and Hiromi are together then Noe’s sacrifice was not in vain, and it makes her all the more noble. Noble Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
@Tofumaro
Yeah it was a good series overall once the pain of Noe’s loss is over the Noe faithful will spread her glory to all corners of the Earth even if Hiromi gets to hitch a ride…
@Boulayman
Yes, Hiromi gets hers Shin…nevertheless thanks for watching. Enjoy her foot. ![]()
@rieuzedx
True Tears is one of the gems of the winter season. I am glad you watched it.
@Gravmech
Time heals all wounds and one day we will look back and realize how much more noble Noe became for letting him go. Noe is now one failed love wiser, and happy again that’s about all we can ask for anyway. I gave Noe all my tears, I just hope they are pure enough. ![]()
@Kabitzin
Give it time it was a bitter pill to swallow after being lead on in the last ep. I am happy for Noe and I was proud that she was able to move on. Thanks for the worst case scenario, cold comfort, but comfort nonetheless. So have you been invited to the ShinxHiromi wedding? I hear that Tears of the Three Views will be liberally offered. ![]()
@rollchan
No Nice Boat. Not this time, not ever.
@Youko
Yeah it almost looked as if Shin was getting dumped. Still Tomoyo would get along fine with Noe. Noe holds not grudges and Tomoyo loves Jun. Tomoyo could be fiends with Noe too. Tomoyo rooted for HiromixJun despite her feelings for him. Besides Hiromi never did appreciate how great Jun was. Tomoyo would be a better disciple for the weirding way.
Thanks for reading, Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
@Hinano
You know what is also hilarious Noe is Moe and your aren’t. Noe also has a legion of fat yaoi fangirls at her command ready break down your door and cut in front of you at Kinokuniya. Noe have mercy upon your soul for those fangirls will not nor will their bulk. ![]()
I hope you give True Tears a chance one day. Sure you picked the winner, but you had a 50/50 shot. Also the destination does not matter it is the journey that is interesting. We all end our lives the same way comrade, but it is how we get to our deaths that makes our lives unique.
@Calawain
I know why you quit but Impz did not. Yeah it ended how you predicted but Noe needs a friend. Won’t you give your tears to her too? besides Hiromi becomes a bit more humble and Shin did cry gloriously for his rejection of Noe. At least take glee in his poor rendition of the roach song.
@Dirian
Tell Noe’s tale to those who ask… Tell it truly, the ill deeds, along with the good… and let Noe be judged accordingly… The rest… is silence…
Yeah I have no more grudge against Hiromi. Noe still remains as selfless as the day she jumped out of that tree and into our hearts, if not more so.
Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
@Kurogane
Her name is Kanae as she has been declared so, just like how Kunta Kinte’s name was Toby. ![]()
It’s not her proper name but its what we have come to call her, besides I doubt she cares.
It was still a good series, and in time the rivalry will be but a minor issue. You have to admit many were led in with the suggestion of Shin choosing Noe in episode 12. Give it time. Besides we will still love Noe enough to spread her deeds of selflessness even if she ended up single.
@Ricaryx
Yeah Shin chose Hiromi over his intellectual love Noe. At least he did regret having to let Noe go. Noe is the light that illuminates the Dull existence of Shin and Hiromi. Her selfless actions allowed two couples to come together and enjoy happiness that they would have otherwise had gone without. I think Noe deserves a second season too just for her, maybe we ill get it…
@Shippoyasha
Noe holds no grudges, and that makes her all the more lovable. Had Hiromi gotten rejected it would have been a different end indeed…
@Myu
Shin fulfilled his obligation to Hiromi, and his last song really did show that Shin loved Noe. I doubt Hiromi would have liked to see how Shin gave so many tears to Noe, but Noe was more able to go independent than Hiromi. One day Hiromi will thank Noe for Making Shin the man he is. He didn’t play with her heart and his certianly did break in way.
Jun will meet Tomoyo, in time.
Thanks for watching and thanks for reading. Noe is Moe Sieg Noe.
@Ascaloth
Yes I would, and it be a mix of incendiary and armor piercing… Noe is not a well of fansservice Hiromi is. Go back to her foot. ![]()
The only thing worse than having Noe lose was the fact the subbers were rubbing it in _| ̄|○
Shin added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 1:25 amWhy does Hiromi get everything and Noe get NOTHING? She couldn’t finish reading the book, she ‘lost’ her closest confidante and she didn’t get to cry gloriously-and the title is True Tears? She cried at the end cuz she was hurt!! How can that be true tears?! Do me a favour and why don’t PA WORKS just be thorough-make her a cripple and let Hiromi do her splits till she’s 70. Talk about injustice.. i can understand Shin x Hiromi ending but Noe was so badly treated…
Well, on the bright side i don’t have to buy the DVD lol..!!
Oh, thank you Crusader for this blog..^^

Why not all this and Shinichiro?
Shinichiro no BAKA!
Noe gets more of the limelight in this episode.Shin was able to indirectly help her get back her tears.. Tho i was initially a shin X hiromi fans, i think noe kinda win the hearts of the audiences isn’t it? I think the writers just purposely want to break our hearts to emphasize the show’s title. True Tears. Because seriously, they made Noe the most enigmatic in the show that just brightens the place and made her cry in the end, it’s optimistic and makes you love Noe even more. Let’s face it. The girl who brought the MOST change in Shin is Noe even if he chose to stay loyal to Hiromi. If they’re gonna do an OVA with Noe as the main character it will be great.It’s Springtime for Noe!
P.S. I hate GL but I couldn’t halp it: ROW ROW FIGHT FOR NOE!
And all of you Noe fans out there, you’re awesome people:)
Shin did not deserve Noe! I’m glad she didnt end up with that wimpy individual and became stronger for having loved and lost. I was a Noe fan from the start, didnt like Hiromi much at all and Aiko got way too little screentime to even be a real contender (plus Nobuse is vastly superior to Shin). Hiromi was the best fit for Shin, Noe will find someone much better for her and Jun will deal with his issues and be better for it. All in all I quite liked True Tears I dismissed it at the start of the season as not worth watching, but changed my mind mid season - definately one of the best shows in a lacklustre winter season.
Caraniel added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 12:29 pmHiromi got Shinichiro and Noe got the whole ending of the 13th episode to herself. ![]()
LOL. Ah that’s pretty deep… that Tomoyo would be less of a Hiromi honcho when she can make shots of her own. If she doesn’t get wierded out, such strength of love could indeed be the very thing to thaw Jun.
Fare thee well. Noe rules.
Youko added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 1:12 pm@Shin
At least they subbed with all possible speed. Even if they were pro Hiromi, damn perverts…
@danie
Noe will get over it and Hiromi will still have the knowledge the Shin cried so much for Noe to haunt her the rest of her life. Noe made new an better freinds and she brought people together, Noe became a better person, while Hiromi remains largely her flawed self.
Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
@Hinano
Oh X-eggs is that all you have? That means that not only to I get to crush enemies with heavy weaponry I get a chance to meet Hinamori Amu too. I have access to heavy firepower and I have a deep love for the smell of cordite, I fear no X-egg. 40mm HE grenades, and incendiary rounds with AP? I’ll be eating scrambled eggs well before dinner time comes. I’ll be sure to get a Amulet Heart, Spade, and Clover autographs with along with a photo of Ikuto saving Amu for a misplaced 40mm practice round. However I get the sense you don’t get access to 40mm HE and we all know fat yaoi fangirls are nearly impervious to small arms, and they make for poor eating too.
I always knew you and JP were Sanjou and Nikaidou shame on you for ruining the lives of children! In the name of Great Justice shall I burn you both out of your apartment and into the arms of Amulet Spade who will then cleanse you of your flawed shugo tama.
@Gevulde
Noe makes him cry like a girly man that’s vengeance enough I suppose.
@Levihan
Noe is the light that illuminates the darkenss, forever noble, forever mighty Noe is the saint that brought happiness to four people. Her deeds will live on.
@Caraniel
Lady Noe appreciates your support of her tale, may you spread it to where ever you go so that the good name of Noe will be known to all.
@Sleepy
Noe also got all of Shin-chan’s tears.
@Youko

@Crusader: Amen to that.
Blissmo added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 6:46 pmX eggs are weaksauce. All you have to do is vogue like Madonna, and they get purified. Now bring on that Three Tears sake!
Kabitzin added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 8:58 pmFor what can be classified as a romance series, I think it’s rather interesting that the studio managed to pull of having the girl who wins the guy NOT be the main character.
The anime begins, and ends, with Noe being the important one. True Tear is not about Shin, Hiromi, nor the two together even. It is about Noe. And when I think about it like that, I am okay with this ending, I think.
Derek added these pithy words on Mar 31 08 at 9:42 pmBAD END.
Seriously, WTF. I loved the series, but Noe deserved a MUCH better ending. She was the strongest character throughout the whole run, and in the end she gets a broken leg, a broken heart and some friends on the side.
Meanwhile, mean-streak Hiromi gets the whole enchilada and the Kodak moments.
That’s it, Shin’ichiro is a goddamn idiot.
Is it a sign of a good or bad ending that I waver back and forth being frustration and acceptance?
After reading stripey’s post praising Hiromi for letting Shin go to sort it out with Noe as an act of love, I felt frustrated again.
For me, I don’t see any of Hiromi’s actions towards as based in love. Sure, she might have done it because she thought she loved him - but what she did to Shin over the various episodes, including the “Noe Confrontation” were not really things you do to people you claim to love. You don’t trick or beguile them into choosing you. You don’t try and run off your rival with lies or try to buy pity points with tears. Finally, when she ran out of options in episode 13, again not exactly out of love, she does one thing right and lets Shin sort it out himself - but he had already decided he would do so anyway, and certainly doesn’t need her permission to do it.
And with that, “childhood friend” Hiromi wins, for reasons still unknown to me.
Maybe I am being too mean, but grr.
Derek added these pithy words on Apr 01 08 at 9:37 amSo the show ended up being an abysmal failure; it’s too bad, but it’s not the first dog I’ve watched and it won’t be the last.
Shin was given an opportunity to reach soaring heights yet chose to remain on the ground. Now he will never take flight, and his relationship with Hiromi is doomed. As for Noe, Jun, Ai, and Shin’s mother - they were victims of character assassination and deserved better treatment from the writers. Rest in peace.
dsong added these pithy words on Apr 01 08 at 10:48 am@Blissimo
Noe is not annoying Noe is Moe! Good to see Noe get more love than Hinano she’s just jealous.
@Kabitzin
The wine is not yet ready here have a starfish~DOZO.
@Derek
Yeah Noe will always be #1 in my heart.
Its a good ending, and Stripey is just an evil tanuki who no only ate Raigomaru, but also has a foot fetish. Time to fix him, and fix him good…
@serial
Shin-chan is baka, at least Noe stole all his tears. That way when Hiromi lays dying on her death bed and Shin can no longer cry, oh yessss….revenge is a dish best served cold.
@dsong
I think Noe got a decent enough end as it was mostly about her and not Hiromi for the final stretch. Now is still Moe. Even if Hiromi has Shin now he will never forget Noe, nor can he cry again for Hiromi, hehehe. Its still a good series and Noe deserves to have her deed be spread amongst the people even if Hiromi gets to ride on her coattails.
