It’s been a rough week. This is my rant about it. Not so much about my life and whether or not I like hotdogs (*cough* ask Impz), but just some thoughts on THAT, and how me being here pertains to you.

I’m the type of person who believes in the whole “karma, reap what you sow, it comes back around” stuff., but I’m also the kind of person who believes that the best way to live is to give and not expect a return. As a blogger, I was always prepared to give my time and energy to write, even if no one commented on my stuff or the response was negative. But, I’ve been in that dismal hole where you write and “give”, but there’s no one there to read or “take” anything. There’s a big difference between “give” and “throw away”.

I’d gotten tired of throwing my stuff away plenty of times, but never tired of writing. I LOVE to write. This season, I was determined not to give up, to keep throwing my stuff away until finally someone caught it. About a week after I made that resolution I stumbled upon THAT’s spring preview and saw the semi-invitation on there for new writers. “Hmmmmm…” I said to myself, “Why not? You know you love to write, and THAT already has a nice user base that seems pretty talkative. Go ask!” That’s when Impz got my hate mail. xD

Once I got here, I had no clue how to introduce myself. I didn’t want to be all like “E-PEEN! I write here!” but hey…90% of the time my writing style is pretty ‘in-your-face’ so to speak. So I threw up and random post just to get a feel for the place. And I’ve got to say, so far you guys have been fantastic. The other authors here have been incredibly friendly (if not so outgoing all the time :P) and have helped me in all manner of things, joked around, cut up…really made me feel like I belong here. I think Maestro deserves a mention as being one of the coolest host admins around for helping to work out some code problems with 3.0 rather than storming in and saying “TAKE IT DOWN!”. You have my respect for that (you too mellow!).

Outside of those guys, YOU, the reader/commenter/harassment committee, have been awesome. You guys comment like mad beasts, and I love it! Not because it’s an e-peen boost or makes me feel all high and mighty…I just love that you guys have something to say and you make the effort to get it out there. That’s the biggest reason I joined THAT…I wanted the community, the discussion, the ideas, the friendships/rivalries. I was deinitely happy to find out you guys have (so far) enjoyed my writing style…it just feels great to know that people appreciate it when you do something you love. I’ve thrown a couple of weird ideas your way, and even went so far as to step in after only a week or two and stir the visuals up a bit…through all of it you’ve been there with the feedback, both positive and negative, encouraging and annoying. Thanks.

I want you guys to know that first and foremost, everything I do here is for you guys (the readers and the writers). I want to do everything I can to make THAT animeblog more than just a url, more than just a blog…but a community that you love (or love more!). From covering the stuff no one else wants to even if it’s just for shits n giggles (Narutard), to saying hey…let’s make this place pretty (and hoping I don’t get murdered for causing change)! I appreciate you guys.

I could leave this post open ended, but all that does is encourage more “yay! Rieuzedx!”, and that’s not what this is here for. I started this with the intention of making this statement: You’ve been here for me, and I know you’ll continue to be…so in return, give me the chance to do the same. If you’ve got a website, blog (about anything), some random poetry, artwork, a great conversation, whatever…let me know. Post it here, ask me for some contact info, whatever it takes. Give me the opportunity to give back. I’m only one man, but I’ll do what I can. (cheesy ending rhyme FTW!)

P.P.S. Though I’m not worried about it, if this post didn’t get any comments I’d feel like an ass after braggin’ about you guys so much. Hehe.
