Noted my laptop did manage to load the site so copied the IE settings over. Lo and behold, this computer's IE decided to load the page. So went to fix the vista one and click the settings one by one. The fix: Turn off use HTTP1.1 in the options-->advanced-->HTTP1.1 Can the geniuses among us explain why that causes things things to bork? Found the IE7 issue.
