I’ve shown a lot of Shinra fanservice here this season, here’s some manservice to try and even it out.
Praise the anime gods, the drama of last week or two is on hiatus (at least for one week). Kimiaru gets back to what it’s good at, parody and overall funny jokes. This episode involves fake trap trying to hook up with Benisu and a Kuonji family trip to watch cherry blossoms blooming.

I have to admit the fake trap looks kind of hot, and I don’t blame Ren for blushing like crazy. However, running outside in his underwear in panic was probably not the best solution. There sure are a lot of traps these days in anime. Some of them are more epic than others (see Mako-cakes and Hamaji) however.

Oh yes, I missed you Anastasia, you were the light in my life…well not really but she was ridiculously funny early on in the series when she was around. In the DVD version they should cut out half of Yume’s scenes for her. Please.

Hey there Kai, kurrupo. Heard you got rejected for a wussy, wet noodle excuse for a man. Sucks dude.

But alas, even the protagonist who goes out with lots of girls occasionally ends up nice boated. Such an appropriate reference for this discussion on how amazing the protagonists usually are with their plot armor (Gundam) and hitting up lots of chicks (see harem shows, including this one, a fact I’m sure was in their minds when they wrote this joke, I love self-deprecating humor). There were probably a couple of other references in here with Ren’s face changing around and such but nothing I knew about.

See previous protagonist joke! Go Ren! As far as tsunderes go Benisu isn’t too bad, but I’m usually not that burning for the abusive/violent types. I dig Rin and Takako type tsunderes. That reminds me, I can’t believe Otome wa Boku got licensed in the US and it’s actually coming out soon. /victory!

Bam, bam, bam, they keep on coming, delicious. And I have absolutely no idea what the hell Natose’s gag was supposed to be about. Maybe that’s a bad impression of Japanese people trying to make fun of Americans? Went way over my head and was just kind of stupid sounding. I find Yuko Goto’s gaijin accent to be much more amusing.

I liked the role reversal there with Shinra asking if Miyu is her servant (obviously rather than master as Saber said in the opening to FSN). I got the reference but I don’t know why they gave Shinra orange armor instead of blue, they kept Miyu’s Rin clothes the right colors. Regardless I found it amusing since I’m once again on an FSN binge currently.

I was laughing pretty hard here with the Mario or some other old Nintendo music playing in the background while the kid got an erotic sounding beating from the Colonel. It was kind of random here how everyone clapped and took their photos to publish in a newspaper. Maybe thieves are less common in Japan and that’s some newspaper worthy event. Regardless this seems to serve as a plot device to introduce Ren’s father again for some drama to finish off the series. Not surprising, most comedies of this type have to figure out some way to summarily end the show with some drama. I’m glad they aren’t devoting too much time to it, two episodes is going to be plenty, hopefully we get some good humor in with that.

And the photographer is that guy from Higurashi. Haha, Kai is trying too much.
Ugh! I can’t believe that I found Chiharu undressing erotic! O.o
And Spoilers = BAD!, I guess they’re fine for shows like Dragonaut but I never thought they would kill off much of the humor in this episode.
@DA.monster
Didn’t catch that! I’m sure it’s not the only one I missed, they came pretty fast.
@Gravmech
Well that’s the problem with shows that take a week and a half for subs, the temptation to spoil yourself! I even do it myself half the time.
I’m wondering if I’m the only one who caught the super-obvious homage to Setsuna F. Seiei in the third thief?
