Kimiaru Episode 9- Gangsta Loli

That’s pretty hardcore gangsta.
My apoligies on the post delay. I’ve recovered from my deathly illness but I was spending too much time marathoning UBW and preparing for my clerkship interview today. Without further adieu we have another plot-ish episode of Kimiaru. The focus is primarily on Miyu, and we pick up some bits of knowledge of her past and her personality.
This episode is basically a couple of days in the life of Miyu, as Ren stays and becomes Miyu’s personal attendant for a couple of days. She lounges around most of the time at first, having such daily schedules as guarding the house and surfing the internet. However, we learn that she really isn’t loafing as one would think and is really just taking a break from inventing contraptions and raking in the cash from patents. This episode also includes a little bit of Yume drama as she gets repeatedly ignored by the rest of the family even when she has something exciting to say.

Miyu is pretty delicious for a loli, because apparently she’s over 20 years old. I’ve always found her character moderately interesting and was a bit curious as to her real background. Well we find out a lot more about her this episode, we are shown that she is a super genius who graduated school early and made boatloads of cash off of brilliant inventions. Her character is interesting that way, because usually the brainy types are the girls with glasses and big breasts. She’s a pretty unique character, and she even has a really weird fetish (shorts) which I didn’t even pick up on until a commenter pointed it out a couple of episodes ago.

Ren was a bit wussy this week, getting way too embarrassed and flustered at first over Miyu being naked. I mean he’s seen her naked at least 3-4 times in this series so far, guy needs to get over it. He eventually does, but I could have done without the cliche, embarrassing blushes at first. Although that was generally offset by the awesomeness that is Mihato and how she handles Miyu. One of the few hilarious moments came when Ren got a bit too friendly with a sleeping Miyu and got caught by Mihato. That was the first time I’ve seen her evil side being brought out against Ren, I thought she tried to hide that side of her from him, but I was wrong!

Man, Miyu’s robot is one horny ass machine humping the rice cooker like that. Reminds me of Bender from Futurama, but only in the attraction to other mechanical objects, Bender is levels of awesome beyond De Niro in general.

There was a bunch of random, relatively uninteresting drama at the end that kind of came out of nowhere. Was pretty lame, both the Shinra-Miyu fight and Yume being emo. I find Yume’s character to be pretty weak and boring, and I think they made her that way on purpose because usually characters like her get way too much attention in most harem shows. It’s good that the ditzy airhead gets sent to the back here, although the drama of her not knowing what to do with herself and getting ignored seems really forced. Delinquent Miyu was much more interesting and funny than Yume drama, I love that gangster voice Yuko Goto uses.

Rice cookers are HAWT. Can’t blame the little egg-man for acting on his fantasies.
I still can’t decide whether or not I want to pick this show back up. Grrr…of the little bit that I did watch, Miyu was my favorite female character, so it’s nice to know that she gets her own bg episode.
Miyu Hardcore Gangsta? not with that fly buzzing around her head…
What exactly was Ren’s punishment? because by the time De Niro reactivated Ren was tired and had some fluids in his hair. Gotta love these parts that leaves alot to the imagination.
And drama is so wrong for this kind of show! T.T
Edit: UBW?

Best guilty pleasure of the season, can’t hurt to devote 20 minutes a week to some good fun.

Hah yeah I had to be a bit sarcastic because it was done so tongue-in-cheek with the fly and the really lame delinquency antics. And yes, two thumbs down for silly drama.
UBW is an arc in the Fate/Stay Night game. Rin, delicious tsundere Rin…
