Losing in love with dignity.
Merry Christmas to Kuro, Stripey, Kabitzin, Ascaloth, and the lot of you HiromixShin-chan supporters you got your end earlier than any one could have anticipated. I was hoping that Santa would be throwing hefty lumps of coal at you guys but you all been very good boys and girls this year. Well Shin-chan has resolved to do things right from now on, I hope he and Hiromi will go off happily into the sunset never to return. Alas Jun nii will have one final card to play, though it will probably be in vain. Now that Shin-chanxHiromi is now out of the way I would have hoped for Hiromi to get off the stage so Noe, Jun, and Nobuse will have a chance to shine more brightly. Were it so easy…

Is that all? Your wishes seem to be on a roll as of late…

We’ve heard enough…
Hiromi decides to move out and try and start from scratch again, and now that she is no longer under the same roof as Shin-chan they will do things the right way from now on. Still I found Hiromi to be a bit insufferable in victory just simply expecting Jun-san to relent when she wanted to break up. Unlike Shin-chan Jun has a deeper sense of honor and martial pride. He doesn’t accept Hiromi’s charity and decides to pay for the repairs himself. Jun could have done a lot worse but true to his rigid discipline he did not use physical violence, but made clear that he will never agree to Hiromi’s proposal. I hope that they can stay friends in the end. Hiromi and Jun have so much in common, though it is only on the matter of Shin-chan and Noe that they disagree. It’s not that Jun hates Hiromi, but that if he agrees then he will have betrayed Noe, and that is something the honorable Jun can never do.

Neither can I…

You’re going to have to fight Jun one last time…
While Shin-chan and Hiromi are off to a new start it doesn’t look like it will be smooth sailing since, Hiromi’s surprise and Shin-chan’s sketches does indicate that they have a lot of catching up to do if this is going to work out in the end. It was touching to see Hiromi and shin reconcile and it was masterfully done if a bit cheesy and melodramatic. Now that’s over with I humbly request that they get off the road. I am many things but I am not a patient man, and the 501st Noe, 503rd Nobuse, and 509th Jun Heavy Panzer Abteilung are coming through whether they are on the road or not.
It is a mark of how Jun is definitely superior to Hiromi as he did not begrudge her for not taking his call, and was initially ready to listen to her. While Hiromi thinks that Jun was not listening, Jun was able quickly ascertain her intentions and cut her off so that she need not waste any more words to justify things for herself. Jun’s refusal of Hiromi’s money indicates that the lad is not easily bought off assuming that Jun is even able to be corrupted by money. Besides it probably wasn’t Hiromi’s money any way. Still the poor sap that workd for Hiromi finds her leaving to be the most sad he even has true tears flowing forth while Shin-chan takes way too long to jump on his bike an go after Hiromi.

…

Noe found a new Jibeta!
Still Shin-chan is an idiot. He peddled down hill, used the wrong lan, and did not wear a helmet…
Noe’s remarks about the snow piling up on the thing that supported her was poetic, it aptly describes the weight of Shin-chan’s lie and the heavy burden he placed upon her heart. Her first contact with Nobuse was also beautiful Noe understood well Nobuse’s pain of being wronged in love and helped him let go. Noe still longs for Shin-chan, but her last moment with him still brought her some bittersweet joy. Such is Noe’s glorious personality that Nobuse’s impression of the real Noe was much better than that weird girl image he had. As a kindred spirit in failed love Nobuse acknowledges Noe as a comrade and a great and glorious one at that. It was good to see that Noe’s one last time made her smile again if only all too briefly. I really want her tears to be that of joy when the end comes, and if all goes well it will be Jun who is the one to return her tears and not Shin-chan as he ought to stay away if he is indeed going to do things right from now on.

Selfless Noe is Moe.

Nobuse is touched by the Blessings of St. Noe. Truly Noe has the power to heal the downtrodden!
Nobuse’s gallantry in the face of heart break was something that Shin-chan could never do. His wish to never love again and have a firm heart was one the noblest act in the whole series on par with Noe’s last seaside stroll with Shin-chan. Like Noe he is willing and indeed makes good on his efforts to let go of the one he loves. His initial refusal to break up was understandable and blunt, but his brave face and genuine desire to see Aiko smile again hit her like a thunder clap. His request of a Noe curse to never love again probably hit Aiko like a ton of bricks; though we can only assume that she was less than indifferent when Nobuse made it clear that she was to be is first and only love of his life. I sort of agree with that blasted tanuki Stripey that Aiko should strike out on her own a bit and make good on her graduation from Shin-chan. Hopefully 3 more episodes will be ample time for Aiko to come to her good sense and confess to Nobuse at their first place of union. Suffice to say Nobuse’s request for Noe’s aid was a very moving moment, more than the Shin-chan and Hiromi reconciliation given how it was much more melancholy.

The blessings of Noe has made this Jibeta fly.

I guess you expected him to beg you to stay…tsk tsk.
As for next time it seems that Hiromi’s parting words of “the one you love is not me” is probably going to be directed a Jun. Though I still have some doubts as it seems Tomoyo was going on about something being on purpose and cruel. Noe also says she doesn’t understand some one’s feelings, so maybe Shin-chan will waver, a bit more before he does things the right way. That or Hiromi will be branded as a cruel woman who led Jun-san astray. I am still not sure what to make of Jun’s remark that “you don’t want to meet up.”

She is, and you sir are very brave.

Nobuse has left you…
Well nevertheless congratulations to Hiromi and Shin-chan for getting and early end. All I can hope for now is that they march off stage to never be heard from again or be kicked to the supporting role while the remaining eps will be a good resolution for Jun, Nobuse, and Noe as they richly deserve it after the heavy price they have paid for the Shin-chan and Hiromi miracle. It still seems though that PA Works is not going to have Shin-chan leave well enough alone and some more drama is in store for us next week. Jun-san is probably going to take this treachery as a personal affront and while Kurogane doesn’t want the lad to do anything drastic, I think I can forgive Jun if he gives Shin-chan a black eye and a broken hand. That or he can run them both over with a Kawasaki Ninja as Shin and Hiromi as still hogging the road…

She found your H-doujin…

Oh shit Hiromi broke his heart too…
It would be strange but welcome if Nobuse and Noe form a jilted lovers association; those two deserve a good friend who can sympathize with their plights. Besides they would both know the cost of treachery and I think that they can get along famously. I hope Aiko realizes how devoted Nobuse was to her and now that she is aware that there is no curse that Nobuse has unequivocally let her go since she was still being unsure. It would be deliciously ironic if Nobuse in a few years from now moves on with Noe or Tomoyo leaving Aiko regretful over her youthful indiscretion at missing out on one of the most gallant men in anime history. I don’t agree with Omni or Stripey to let Aiko off the hook with her being alone yet happy. She can be alone, but I don’t want her to be that happy…

…

Hey Soundwave what do you have to say about this?Show ▼
Well again I am happy for Kuro, Stripey, Kabatzin, and Ascaloth for their desired end. As for fans like usagijen, Shirukii, rest of the Noe faithful, and me I think we can all agree to humbly ask that Shin-chan and Hiromi get off stage, it would be most unpleasant if they have to be dragged off as a precondition of a glorious resolution for Noe, Nobuse, and Jun. I know that Hiromi and Shin-chan have a lot of catching up to do, its just that they would be better off doing all that stuff off screen or at least in a supporting role. Unlike me Megatron has this to say about the current situation.

Sure…how about you Megatron?Show ▼

Apparently Noe’s tears that she hasn’t cried for anyone isn’t good enough for Shin. No, he wants Hiromi’s tears that she’s been tossing all over the place the entire series.
I still don’t understand why he’s so into her. It doesn’t make any sense. Maybe he remembers she had a cute foot or something.
Derek added these pithy words on Mar 09 08 at 8:53 pmI bet Noe would like Starscream.
I agree it would be nice if Hiromi and Shinichiro can wrap up their happy ending quickly so we can find out what happens to Noe, Miyokichi, and Ai. I am starting to doubt we will find out why Kanae was so bitchy in the first few episodes; the dad seemed to just chalk it up to a misunderstanding…
Kabitzin added these pithy words on Mar 09 08 at 8:55 pmThis blog entry made me so happy, I believe that I can R.I.P. until the next episode. Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
…yet …Shin would really fly as romantic Raigomaru IF his heart has been with Noe all along (mostly), and that he really was (mostly) over Hiromi.
Excuse the delusion (even with all the Shin-Hiromi hugging). As I was saying, I’m gonna R.I.P.
Youko added these pithy words on Mar 09 08 at 9:21 pmHaha, Merry Chistmas to you too, sir. Though, er, it’s kinda early to be telling whether we’ve been good boys yet this year, but eh.
Nobuse = man. Nothing less. Possibly more. I’ll leave the rest for you to expand on, as doubtless you will.
The scene of the ‘cursing’ was touching, but so was the revelation that she never cursed him. The ‘curse’ gave him the belief in himself to do what he’d never have done otherwise. Such is the power of the perception of the human mind. All the more reason to love Noe eh?
Jun-nii may have taken the natural course of action by rejecting Hiromi’s leave, but I wonder when will he realise that it is partly his fault too that Noe is in the condition she is in. And more importantly, that Noe needs his attention right now more than Hiromi. Notice how, since the motorbike crash scene, there has not been a scene of Jun and Noe together. It’s safe to say that Jun is unaware of what is happening to his sister right now. Or that, if he is, he’s putting his attention in the wrong place.
Cipher added these pithy words on Mar 09 08 at 9:54 pm@Derek
Hehe yes her foot must have been lovely. Shin-chan has a foot fetish. ![]()
@Kabitzin
I hope they don’t leave Kanae’s reasons for Hiromi hate to be left as a hanging plot thread.
Noe is Primus she is the light that shines upon all. As for Star Scream I have to say it must be Kanae, never ever gets treachery right.
@Rollchan
Yeah there are plenty more to go. So not all is lost yet.
@Youko
Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
It not over yet and things can change in 2 episodes, yesssss.
@Cipher
Yeah it might be too early for Christmas, but so long as you all behave you won’t get a lump of coal by the series end.
Noe is the light that illuminates the darkness and Nobuse was most wise in asking for her aid.
I am sure Jun nii will give Noe all the attention she needs after he has a word with the treacherous Shin-chan…
Crusader added these pithy words on Mar 09 08 at 10:05 pmWell, whatever it is, I am totally hating on Hiromi right now. Well, I do not think that she does not deserve Shin-chan because both Noe and Hiromi are fine with Shin. I am not really too perturbed about who will eventually get Shin-chan. The problem is that Hiromi’s character just feels like someone who is born to be a …ermm deficient personality. I just cannot accept many of her actions for the past two episodes. It just rubs me the wrong way, even though it is a very sweet end.
I guess I might be biased over the fact that my Moe Noe is getting hurt by the Shin-faggot (who is actually a very good male lead that tries to do something to make things work). Noe is moe! Sieg Noe!
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 2:18 amwhat makes shin such a great guy that you have 3 different girls falling for him. maybe its because he can draw?
Personally i like nobuse…..seems i am always rooting for the secondary characters lol..
in kimikiss Kazuki’s story was more interesting…in true tears i want to know more about Nobuse than shin..bah…is this the new style of anime now ![]()
This ain’t over ’til it’s over.
Every episode I feel a bit more respect towards Nobuse. He’s had it rough.
@bobofet
Shin’s and artist and for some reason the bad poetry and poor doodles make young women gaga…
Yes, Nobuse is the man of the series, does way more admirable things than compared to the lead. He did not need to ponder how to do the right thing he was doing it right since the beginning.
@serial
Yes leave doubt for the dying. Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
Nobuse has had it rough yet every time he gets back up and conducts himself with honor. He still hasn’t smacked Shin-chan yet…He’s a good man.
Crusader added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 10:04 amLooks like I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t wait for w.0.0.f’s subs this week!
Great episode though. I’m a fan of both Noe and Hiromi (and Ai, but she’s clearly out of the picture), so I don’t really mind who he ends up with. In the real world I’d personally go after someone more like Hiromi than Noe, but that’s because I dig emo girls with problems (I know, I’m crazy), but how can you not like Noe?
Karisu added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 10:14 amI’d have to agree with megatron ^^; but anyways, it’s still a decent show even without the noe ending.. few more episodes to go and things can still go wtf wut!? i hope.. >.> St. Noe
Zyg` added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 11:05 amThis is me being anything but rational, but Hiromi annoys the hell out of me.
I honestly had hoped that this episode would be Shin waking up to find out that he needs Noe, hence, to say that these 24 minutes were a bit excruciating would be an understatement. In any case, at least every bit of Noe was joy. And Nobuse. And even if this episode felt somewhat like an ending, I refuse to give up on Noe.
@Crusader: I am still not sure what to make of Jun’s remark that “you don’t want to meet up.”
I think that was a slight mistake in the translation. w.0.0.f subs say: “Shall we meet up?” which actually makes more sense.
Myu added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 11:33 am@Karisu
Yeah such is my addiction to Ture Tears and Noe goodness. Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe.
@Zyg`
Yeah it is almost over and the surprises still keep coming and we’re all still guessing.
Glad you agree with Megatron, the consequences for disagreeing well they are most unpleasant.
@Myu
Well I hope now that Hiromi is a happy Hiromi that she will gracefully leave the stage before she ends up less than happy.
Hmmm… I guess that makes more sense so Jun is going to ambush Shin-chan. I can’t wait for Jun to deliver so nii-san justice upo0n Shin-chan’s head…
Crusader added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 4:00 pmYou enjoy your premature sham of a victory, Hiromi fans! Noe will reign in the end, I will hang on to every last shred of hope until the final credits roll.
Don’t forget what happened in Canvas2! Think that, minus the incest.
Shirukii added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 4:48 pm…just here …again …for the morphine… after the 2 episodes of carnage…
BTW, at the shot of Shin looking for Noe right after the Nobuse-Noe scene, I was half-hoping, half-fearing some pain to be inflicted on Shin if he should see Noe holding Nobuse’s hand so tenderly.
Youko added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 5:01 pmI too think that Noe may yet prevail. There is still a good chance that Shin and Hiromi could decide they are just good friends after all and Noe will cry True Tears of happiness when he makes his way back to her. Time will tell… and there is plenty of that left in the series for it to happen.
Jauken7 added these pithy words on Mar 10 08 at 8:04 pm@Shirukii
You know if it was a false ending then it certainly would be a kick in the teeth for Hiromi fans. Not sure if PA Works is capable of that much evil, then again…Noe is Moe.
@Youko
Yeah I wonder what Shin-chan’s reaction would have been when that glorious blessing occurred.
@Jauken7
Yes time will tell, time will tell…its not over until Noe cries.
just saw this episode (universal forces conspired to knob my connection over the weekend) and wanted to say how much I enjoyed the posts on the show. I do have a query though. I know you’re a big fan of Noe (who isn’t?), but I think your fealty to her made your post a little bitter especially to Shin. I mean the boy’s been honest about his feelings for Hiromi since the start and if it weren’t for Jun’s weird interference, he wouldn’t be breaking Noe’s pure little heart right now. So how is Jun, who never even liked Hiromi in the first place (and forced Shin to go out with his Noe), honorable while Shin is scum?
Saigon added these pithy words on Mar 11 08 at 4:45 am@Crusader: I am still not sure what to make of Jun’s remark that “you don’t want to meet up.”
Myu March: I think that was a slight mistake in the translation. w.0.0.f subs say: “Shall we meet up?” which actually makes more sense.
A more direct translation would be “Why don’t we meet up?”.
Garet added these pithy words on Mar 11 08 at 5:23 amAs much as I want Noe to be happy, I think I’d rather see her glorified as the selfless saint she was portrayed to be throughout the series, and move on. Shin is just a chicken after all. Nobuse is more worthy of Noe’s love and true tears, but I don’t really think that can happen xD
usagijen added these pithy words on Mar 11 08 at 8:01 amSaigon - Often actions speak louder than words… his interactions with Noe trump over anything we’ve seen in regards to Hiromi. His inspiration, his work, and his promises all prove his love for Noe and it’s a shame if he gives it all up due to an age-old crush.
Let’s compare that with Hiromi. They were close when they were very young, and since then, they’ve always been in the same class, with the occasional smiles to sustain the memories… there’s just nothing substantial there; not even a sign of a close friendship that he had with Aiko. He’s chasing after a shadow and hoping it will suddenly come to life.
When push comes to shove I believe Shin simply isn’t ready for a relationship at this point and I hope all of the girls turn him down.
dsong added these pithy words on Mar 11 08 at 10:01 am@Saigon
Well for one thing Jun never did confess and told Hiromi precisely why they were now associated. Shin-chyan however was never forced to go through with it after all I never saw a gun pointed at his head, and honestly other than the occasional Jun inspection there was no physical force used to compel Shin-chan to act according to Jun’s will.
Shin-chan however did confess to Noe and even went so far as writing it out. So tell me hos is Shin-chan not responsible for what he is done. Jun was busy keeping Hiromi company. It was still Shin-chan who came up with the scheme ion the first place Jun merely acted accordingly as if Shin-chan jmeant it. If it was a joke it was a very lame one indeed.
@Garet
Hmm…I wonder why Jun would be asking…
@usagijen
Yes nobuse is indeed a worthy man, worthier than Shin-chan at least. Though I look forward to watching Noe ascend into sainthood, I still want Hiromi gone now that there is no more reason to angst. Hiromi has Shin-chan now she should cut her loss and whisk him away now. If Hiromi stays then she ius just being greedy and robbing Noe and Nobuse of screen time.
@dsong
Yes, Shin-chan is chasing a dream long since lost and he will pay for his foolishness, however for the sake of Noe I want him to suffer on the periphery and unseen by Noe.
@dsong
His interactions with Noe have been sweeter and seemingly more meaningful than with Hiromi but thats because Hiromi was frozen fish. The series starts with him all artsy like thinking about how to dry Hiromi’s tears didn’t it? This is high school, he said he liked Noe (again, who doesn’t), if Hiromi had been available clearly things would have been different.
@Crusader
Fair enough weaponry wasn’t involved, but in support of Shin, if Hiromi hadn’t been all “I like Number 4 on that baskeball team” and “We’re siblings” Shin would have never confessed to Noe. He tried to move on with his life. oh and Jun may not have aimed a gun at his head but he put the idea there. He meddled in his sister’s life unnecessarily now she’s heartbroken. He didn’t even care if Shin liked Noe.
I have to say I agree with you almost all of the things , Crusader. Miyokichi is cool here in this episode, same with Noe. I hope Jun-nii won’t fall for Hiromi or anything, that would be bad. And I hope there ’s some kind of unexpected turn of events in the end but well, if there’s not , I would love Shin-chan and Hiromi to leave the stage too.
saris added these pithy words on Mar 13 08 at 2:04 am@Saigon
Jun merely asked Shin-chan to go out with Noe he did not put the idea of trading Noe for Hiromi, that was all Shin-chan. Jun just ran with it. As for Meddling Jun merely insisted that Shin-chan honor the agreement. Jun did not force Aiko away Shin-chan could have kept her there when they first met. Jun’s meddling was decidedly limited as he spent much more time baby sitting Hiromi than stalking Shin-chan and Noe to ensure things were going well. Since Shin-chan was involved with Noe it was reasonable to assume that Shin-chan felt something more since Noe at the time had no friends at all. Judging by the information gleaned from Noe, Hun gathered that Shin-chan’s fascination with Noe was more than just being friends.
@saris
Yep Nobuse is the most noble and stoic of the male characters in True Tears. I hope we learn more come episode 11.
