In the previous episode, Shouka went on to break the mirror, causing a huge shaking of the Earth. It seems that the release of the spirits is imminent and everyone has to escape quick before they are engulfed by this malicious evil. Will the island burn down from the impending doom of the area, or will someone be able to calm the spirits down? After the expected rescue of Ryuuki, this episode goes on to wrap up the current season. It is time to get ready for a formal farewell for this series, at least until the next season comes in a near or far future.
Let’s enjoy the latest episode summary!

Episode summary

Shusui ran to the inner room of the shrine as she realizes that the mirror is broken. As she reached the room, she saw Ensei carrying Shuurei. Despite Ensei explaining that he is not the one who broke the mirror, Shusui insists he did and says that he did it because he did not know about the mirror. Shusui is able to bind the spirits by playing the er hu played by the Hyou ancestor and calm the mountain down. Shusui tells Ensei to escape now. Shuuei asks Ryuuren whether he has any way to calm down the heavy rain, as Ryuuren calms the rain down with his flute. Even Shuurei is awake from the sound of the terrible flute.
Tantan is worried as the rope holding the boat is about to break. He also wonders how Ryuuki is able to handle the pressure since he is about the same age. Shuurei and the others finally arrived, as Ryuuki caught a fever and started talking gibberish about mushrooms sitting on pandas. Shuuei also roughly handles Shusui to the boat. Shuuei decides to return for Jyuusan Hime, only for Shun to carry her back. Shuuei is impressed that he can subdue Jyuusan Hime. Shun says that it’s good that Shusui came here, and warns Shuuei about not letting this “weak current” kill them. Shun kicks the boat away and the rope breaks. Shusui suddenly jumps back to the shore.
Shusui says she will not return, as Shuuei mumbles that he will return one day. Shusui tells Shouka that she will not run away and will not return with him. Shouka warns about the dire consequences of returning to Ruka, but Shusui replies that she does not want to run away. Shouka says he can still protect her. Shusui says that escaping is painful and thanks Shouka for picking her up. Back at the Ran residence, Shuuei wakes up to have a bet with his three brothers. If he loses, he will follow the will of his brothers. Before he can continue, the triplets agree to the bet but say that they have never lost the bet before.
Shuurei wakes up to see Shouka a little sad. He explains it is due to his children being independent now and tells her to sleep. It is then Shuurei realizes Shouka should not be here. He explains that Ryuuki brings him here. As she questions more, Shouka explains that he is saved by the “black wolf”. Shuurei asks if Shouka saw the “black wolf”, as he murmurs his way through. That left Shuurei puzzled. Shuurei goes over to Ryuuki, and his fever drops. Ryuuki then woke up to see Shuuei. Ryuuki feels pathetic that he left Shouka and Jyuusan to climb the mountain, but Shuuei says that is always the case. Shuuei then goes on to explain about Jyuusan Hime and Jin.

Shuurei goes to Jyuusan Hime, with Tantan and Ensei note keepers. Shuuei says that Jyuusan Hime tries to save Shun then by getting through the maze by herself. In Jyuusan-hime’s room, Jyuusan-hime tries to explain more but Shuurei says she is not interested. It is not that she is trying to protect her. Shuurei thought in her mind that the head of Ran will never decide on something that will cause them danger, so there is someone at the high rank to adopt Jin as “Shun”. She wonders if it’s Sun or Ouki, but knows that she cannot be rash when she is uncertain. It is a huge accusation of a crime to allow a death row prisoner to escape illegally.
Shuurei explains that if she is the officer in charge of Jin’s case, she will follow the law and not listen to anyone’s request. However, she will try to appeal for a lesser sentence for Jin or the girl he saves. She believes in a world of equality. Tantan and Ensei agrees on her decision. Jyuusan-hime apologizes as Shuurei says it’s just a scenario. Shuuei says that he told Ryuuki about this since he is going to marry Jyuusan-hime. On the way to the forest, Ryuuki requests Shuuei to return with him, in the role of an emperor. He wants a companion, not a friend. He promises to be a good king, and wants Shuuei’s eternal loyalty. Ryuuki appeals for Shuuei to choose the king, since he chose Shuuei.
Shuuei explains that he has been kicked out of his family, as he won in the bet where he has to differentiate the three. Shuuei explains that the Ran clan does not believe in Ryuuki, and he can no longer wield the power of the Ran clan. Ryuuki does not care since he comes simply to get Shuuei. Shuuei is shocked that Ryuuki is fine with that, and Ryuuki asks if Shuuei wants something in return comically. Shuuei laughs at Ryuuki, and says he will reply by his sword. As Ryuuki attacks, Shuuei easily repels Ryuuki’s sword. Ryuuki cannot believe Shuuei’s strength and says it is impossible. Shuuei says that Ryuuki is very impolite and says that he will only lose to the Black and white general.
Ryuuki cannot believe this, but Shuuei replies that he does not use his true ability learned from the Shiba clan. Hence, Ryuuki saw this part of Shuuei that is rarely seen. Shuuei says that he will no longer simply go along with Ryuuki, but will accompany Ryuuki if he just wants a short journey. Shuuei says the handkerchief has a flower to replace the flower of trust he returns, and adds that it is Yuushun’s idea. Ryuuki explains that in the chess match last summer, Yuushun predicts that if Shuuei gets serious and beats Ryuuki in chess, Shuuei will return. Ryuuki says it is exactly what Yuushun says, as Ryuuki gives Shuuei’s sword back to him. Shuuei says that he will faithfully follow Ryuuki eternally and be an useful “sword”. Shuuei also gives the records that Shuurei needs at night. Shuuei asks if Shuurei knows that Shuuei will return to Ryuuki. Shuurei says that she believes in personal will, and will not persuade someone who has decided. However, if Ryuuki asks her to bring him back, she will do anything to get Shuuei back. The next day, everyone is on their way to the capital, with Ryuuren on the helm.
Thoughts

I am absolutely surprised at the amount of detail that the anime puts in the series. Who would have thought that the handkerchief given by Ryuuki actually has such a meaning. Moreover, the chess game really tells a lot about the motives of a person, since the will to win Never in my wildest dreams will I think of such a complicated, yet simple way to bind the heart of your subordinate by giving him the trusted flower after he gives it back to you. Yuushun is definitely a omnipresent person, with a keen eye for details and politics. Ryuuki is really super lucky to convert this former hater of the capital to a trusted aide.
I am also glad for Ryuuki as he finally understands his position and the reason he came here. With or without his power as the Ran clan (even though it is a very useful surname), Ryuuki realizes that he needs someone that will be faithful to him no matter what. Ran Shuuei is a very competent general even without his family rank and will be someone that can protect Ryuuki easily. With Yuushun as the political support and Shuuei the physical/mental support, Ryuuki has two pillars of strength that will allow him to fully manifest his ability as an emperor.
Is anyone not surprised at Ryuuren doing that flute-blowing trick to calm down the heavy rain? I know I ain’t because I know that Ryuuren is definitely someone special to be considered the “talent” of the Ran clan. I am amused how badly he blew the flute even when it is actually the solution. I guess even the heavens are fearful of his flute blowing skills and is begging him to stop by ending the rain. I also like how he looks without the strange turban because he is actually quite boyish looking. I do not want to know how he is going to help everyone get to the capital in three times the speed. Poor Shuurei and company.
Is it just me but I am quite surprised how Shouka did not cover his tracks to answer Shuurei. Considering how he is the black wolf, he definitely should be able to smoke up some ridiculous lie that can trick Shuurei. However, my answer will be that Shouka simply acts by instinct with his rescue of Shuurei and did not bother about the consequences of being questioned by Shuurei. I really laugh at Shouka’s helplessness with Shuurei when he makes a stupid reason after another. Who says that the Black Wolf is invincible now?
I will leave everyone with a question about Shusui. She finally decides not to “run away”, which seems to be a consistent theme with Ryuuki. Do you think she should have left with Shouka, or she did the right thing to end all matters? I personally do not know or have the answer. Enjoy!

I loved the part with Ryuuren at the top of the ship’s mast as they all covered their ears - he really does manage to “rise above” most situations doesn’t he… you must be right about the heavens fearing the flute playing. So now everyone is finished with crying for awhile, headed back to their responsibilities & the intrigue in the capital.
I’m guessing there will have to be a confrontation about marriage between Ryuuki & Shurrei, so that’s to be looked forward to. I only hope the theme of breaking off from former (or otherwise impossible) loves does not carry over to them.
Also.. I am looking forward to seeing Seiran again !!
I can’t believe the next ep is the last…
You hear this a lot - but thanks Impz for the summaries + screenshots, I’ve been reading the blog since ep 20 or so. I’ve really enjoyed this anime thanks to you !
According to the novels, the name “Ran Ryuuren” has a special meaning in Kyuusaikou. One reason why it’s a hereditary name, I guess.
And yes, Yuushun is scarily intelligent, isn’t he? He’s one of the biggest mysteries that I want solved in the story, both his background, his motives, etc.
Of course, now that Ryuuki has Shuuei, the question is, what will happen to poor Kouyuu? It’s not mentioned in the anime yet, but he’s under serious observation by the Gyoushidai. Can he swear loyalty to Ryuuki too? Especially considering he’s Reishin’s foster child?
L-chan added these pithy words on Mar 01 08 at 5:34 pmIs it the end of the series? It’s caught up almost with the light novels now. But there’s still so much of the story that needs to be told.
I’m really looking forward to the Shuurei and Ryuuki conversation. They’ve been hinting that Shuurei has feelings for Ryuuki through out the entire series. It’s frustrating that they have so little scenes together.
What happened to Eigetsu and Kourin? Where the heck is Seiran? I miss him. Are they ever going to produce more manga?
mei added these pithy words on Mar 01 08 at 8:52 pmsangkyu for the summary! oh my… the anime is a bit different from the novel… some of the more important details are missing.. ![]()
specially details concerning jyuusanhime x shiba x ryuuki..
but wow, the season is almost ending!
this blog is ♥. i don’t know what i would do without it.
yay! i finally get a glimpse of the triplets.
*almost everyone in saiunkoku is a bishie. even the old people used to be bishounen in their time. i’m in ♥. why can’t my country be full of bishounen?! sigh.*
now all that’s left is for kouyuu to decide - though i think he’ll go with ryuuki. since he doesn’t have the kou name, he is free to make his own decisions. and reishin (despite his being anti-ryuuki) will let him choose his own path. ^^
tomoyohime added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 1:25 am*unable to say anything*
hontou ni, the next on will be the last one T_T
are they really going to end SaiMono in this season ?
I didn’t see any conclusion here
btw, THANKX IMPZ !!, this blog still the best (for me;)
aka-chan added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 1:48 amThanks again for the summaries! Gawd! I don’t know what I’m going to after the last eppie. This really was a fun place to come with your summaries and all the great commenters. Here’s a little suggestion, maybe after the last eppie summary you can have a predictions blog. Will SM continue with a season 3 or will they create an OVA. I’m thinking maybe OVA just like in Rurouni Kenshin. After 95 episodes, they created an OVA and slapped the Jinchuu Arc in there which was NOT like the manga. But the 14 mins director’s cut of the OVA (with sweet moments of Kenshin/Karou) was worth seeing. Anyhoo, just a suggestion (hint, hint).
So, from reading your summary (not seeing raw eppie) I would say I really am impressed by Shuurei. I think I feel like Shouka-papa in the sense that Shuurei has matured to the point of not needing him or even Seiran anymore. From the first season Shuurei demonstrated her potential as an official and from the later half of the second season she seemed to have grown even more. She will become a great official. Go Shuurei!!! Seiran has also grown less dependant on Shuurei. He’s going to be a great military officer (who will be by Shuurei’s side as she continues to climb politically.) (Seiran please marry Shuurei!!).
As for Shusui… I think she did good to stay behind. There’s really not that much she can do back at the capital, besides making Shuuei cry for her love or she cry to be loved by Shouka. Jyuusan-hime is there for Ryuuki and she is also capable of handling palace stuff. Also, I’m not sure I completely understand what’s going on with Jyuusan-hime but is she in trouble? I understand what is said with “Shun” Jin being a prisoner illegally released from death row. But what does that have to do with Jyuusan-hime? Also, if she is in some kind of trouble, why would it still be acceptable for her to marry the emperor? I don’t think that will be okay if the other clans get wind of this. It will just prove once again that the emperor is favoring the Ran Clan over the other clans.
Gypsy-chan added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 4:02 amHi impz, thanks again for the wonderful summary. I am glad that the anime seems to be following the novels very closely and I am a bit sad that the season is almost over and with the novels being exhausted (except maybe the gaidan novels)this might be the end of the series as well. Then they might do some OVAs for additional storyline which comes out. Of course it could be like Kyou Kara Maou and they dot he 2 sessons then after a long break they do OVAs and are now continuing the series.
No matter what though I am glad that we finally see Ryuuki and Shuuei reunited ^_______________^…I think Shuuei sees Ryuuki as the little brother he wished he had (someone smart but not smarter than him who he can guide and teach things….impossible to do for Ryuuren)
I also look forward to a reunion between Ryuuki and Shuurei.
Oh and thanks for including pics of Ryuuren this time int he screenshots ^_____________^
bootoye added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 5:49 amThanks again, Impz.
With the way this episode went and the way the novels have gone so far, I think it’s already pretty clear how the second season will end. And yes, I am soooooo hoping for a season three. I think the OVAs should be reserved for the backstories.
I wonder how many years we’ll have to wait before they come out with it? Maybe Yukino Sai will already allow them to start working on season three based on her latest novel even though it hasn’t been released yet….
sumomo added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 6:28 am@Vjean: Lol! I didn’t think anyone will be insane enough to agree with me about the flute thing. Of course, I am very sure that we will be treated with a resolution over the marriage of Shuurei x Ryuuki, but it is likely to happen when Ryuuki is about to convince the Kou clan (aka Reishin and Kurou) that he is capable enough. That will probably take a very very long arc.
Thanks for finding these weekly entries useful!
@L-chan: Ya, Yuushun is probably someone who wants to use politics to provide peace to the world. If you notice, he literally closed himself from all contact with humans when the world went into chaos. He knows that he will just die if he tries to do something because he cannot. He needs a wise king, or at least a king that is willing to try. That is why he probably sees something enough of Ryuuki for him to bother. If not, I doubt he will tolerate such rubbish.
And about Kouyuu, read above. ^^
@Mei: Ya, it’s about to end and the website says that there is no news of a third season. Nonetheless, they are going to do a replay of the second season. We can probably *cross fingers* expect a sequel in 1 year or so. Eigetsu and Kourin are in Sa province, far from the storyline. It really seems that Seiran has completely disappeared, especially when my girlfriend complains about his lack of appearances.
@Liesel: arrr, more details ?_? I guess it’s due to the lack of time to squeeze all the information into 1 episode since it is about to end.
@Tomoyo: heheh, you are making me blush. Yes, you have the absolute same idea with my girlfriend. She always complains that i am fat and ugly, since she wants a bishie like Seiran to be her wife. Stupid $#^#$^#$ woman.
That said, I feel that it is going to be much harder to recruit Kouyuu than Shuuei. Shuuei never truly like to be in his family. Of course, he does have allegiance for his clan’s name, but he is never happy in the family. However, Kouyuu is rescued by Reishin and hence goes under the name of the Kou clan. He definitely will have a huge amount of gratitude to the man that saves him. We all know Reishin’s huge hatred of Ryuuki. It’s going to TAKE A DAMN LOT for our nice uncle to accept the emperor.
@Aka-chan: thankies! Ya, I think it’s more like a wrap up of the season but we might see a third season some time from now. Hopefully, some news will appear.
@Gypsy: As an official, I feel that Shuurei has definitely improved. I am not sure if she has matured as a person though to be honest. I do think that Seiran is finally gone from the shadows of Shuurei, in terms of living for himself. It’s a pity we seldom see him since he is one of the more colorful characters.
She is not in trouble because Shuurei is not going to report it. The thing is that The Ran clan already has a lot of enemies in the nobles for their huge amount of power that they can wield. If the nobles get a whiff of corruption, there will be a huge overhaul in power. That is why Shuurei does not want to report anything UNLESS she gets supremely concrete evidence.
For Jyuusan-hime, she is probably relieved when Shuurei understands that she is still feeling guilty that she caused Jin’s life (not literally, but you get what I mean). That is why Shuurei put that hypothesis to make her feel better. I didn’t truly understand that part to be honest.
@Bootoye: of course. Ryuuren, after Reishin and Shouka, is one of my top five favorite characters (the other two being Eigetsu x Kourin for a rather obvious reason). Heh heh.
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 6:33 am“Ryuuki caught a fever and started talking gibberish about mushrooms sitting on pandas.” - not cute to have fever but to gibber about pandas & mushrooms, that’s cute, especially from Ryuuki
“Shuuei also roughly handles Shusui to the boat… Shusui says she will not return, as Shuuei mumbles that he will return one day. ” - I’ve noticed that Shisui is the only woman Shueei would roughly handled among all Saimono chicks. Do you think it’s got to do with her more-deadly-than-Kouchou assasin image that trigger Shueei to be different with her? If Shisui ever becomes Shuuei’s wife, imagine how ‘passionate’ their household manhandling is going to be like ;O Oh heck ,Impz, am I imagining? In one of your screenshots, did I truly see tears on Shuuei’s face watching Shisui on the shore or is it just rain drops watering his face? If it’s really his tears for his beloved woman, awwww, that’s so *sniff* sweet
“Shuuei decides to return for Jyuusan Hime, only for Shun to carry her back. Shuuei is impressed that he can subdue Jyuusan Hime. Shun says that it’s good that Shusui came here, and warns Shuuei about not letting this “weak current” kill them. ” - awwwwww sweet for JyuusanXShun pairing. But what’s with the ‘weak current’? Are you impying on Shisui or Jyuusan? I don’t get this one…
“Shuuei explains that he has been kicked out of his family… he can no longer wield the power of the Ran clan. Ryuuki does not care since he comes simply to get Shuuei.” - Now that’s something! Losing your powerful Ran inheritance is awful, especially when it can come in handy to get things going. I’m actually impressed with Ryuuki’s genius decision to bring Shuuei back still. I believe he saw the need to govern Saiunkoku without the distracting political clouts from noble families. Hurrah for Shuuei + Ryuuki + a promising Saiunkoku’s future!
“Is anyone not surprised at Ryuuren doing that flute-blowing trick to calm down the heavy rain?” - nope, I got the hint of his talent since Season 1. Ryuuren once said to Ryuuki, “I thought my flute is to chase away evil spirits, not attract them.”
“Is it just me but I am quite surprised how Shouka did not cover his tracks to answer Shuurei.” - too busy perhaps with his mission to stay by Ryuuki, then quickly switch identity to save his Shuurei. No time to think mid-way for excuses. Also, I kinda know that Shouka is not good at lying, never mind he’s Black Wolf or his normal clumsy self.
“Do you think she should have left with Shouka, or she did the right thing to end all matters?” - Kudos to her for not running away. Shisui knew that to go back to the capital will still make her susceptible to Ruka’s powers from afar (remember the mental voices in her trying to get Shisui to do dangerous stuff?) It’s time to start really figthing back what hurts you after so long.
@Tomoyo msg: “She always complains that i am fat and ugly, since she wants a bishie like Seiran to be her wife. Stupid $#^#$^#$ woman.” - aww, c’mon Impz, you can’t be that bad! Your gf still keeps you, hulo! Anyway, shouldn’t it be ’she wants a bishie like Seiran to be her husband’? Not ‘her wife’? I’m sorry I can’t help but laugh my head off. Imagine Seiran going for gender-change operation just for your gf’s sake ;P
SEAMaiden added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 10:09 amThanks a lot for the episode sum Impz!
This is the only way that I can get close to understanding the story of season 2. I can’t eblieve we’re comming close to the final episode, although there’s still so much of the story that needs to be told. I can’t wait to see more of Shuurei and Ryuuki.
I noticed that many have been mentioninga possible confrontation about the marriage between Shuurei and Ryukie, can anyone please explain? Because I’m confused.
Ryurei added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 10:15 amhmm did anyone get that it says somewhere in the summary that: Shuuei says that he told Ryuuki about this since he is going to marry Jyuusan-hime….do i mean that is so sweet and I think in many ways they could be together. O so so it means that its a high possibility that Shuurei and Ryuuki would get together, i mean there is also the Head clan to get over too but Shuurei is old enough and she can make her own decision
Peggy added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 11:42 amI think it’s noble for Shusui to face the music. After all this time, she finally found the courage to face the ordeal that she had been running from-that takes a lot of courage. It’ too bad that the Jyuunsan Hime and Ryuuki are getting married. I was hoping to see Shuurei and Ryuuki to be a pair, since they seem so matched with each other. But since there is still one episode, maybe there will be another surprise?
Mary Ann added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 11:46 am@sumomo: that is soooo true. i’m constantly checking animenewsnetwork for updates on a season 3 but there is only 1 more episode of saimono and yet no news. and i also think that the OVAs should be reserved for back stories. if not a 3rd season then i think atleast a movie that will properly end the series(meaning an ending where ryuuki and shuurei will get married and live happily ever happy like a fairy tale!) tats what i wish but i don’t know about the rest of you!!!! but pray that there’ll be a season 3 for saimono. cause i don’t really want it to end yet!
@ Impz: Nice blog as always!
aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 12:13 pmYou can say bye-bye to Saiunkoku Monogatari or you can fight for season 3.
You can do online petitions or more effectively, you can do like the fans of Jericho (CBS hit show) after Series Finale was annouced. They protested by sending in thousands of bags of nuts to the CBS President, with the message “Are you nuts?”. CBS now has a new season of Jericho. Enough said… LOL.
I’m sure if enough people contact Jungo Maruta, President of Madhouse Studios or Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Michael Lynton, who is the Chairman and CEO, and one of the largest stock holder of “Madhouse Studios” that produces Saiunkoku Monogatari, then we’ll have a third season guaranteed.
I wish people would have done that with Inuyash or Fruit Basket. LOL
Amazing what you can find on Wikipedia!!
Thanks for the summaries!!!
Sandie0795 added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 3:04 pmoh no..one more episode left!!! I want to see the last episode because I sorta know what’s gonna happen…unless the anime changes the ending totally (which will be a real bummer!!) then again, a part of me doesn’t want to see the last episode because it will be the end of Saiunkoku!!
Thanks, Impz!!!!
delphyne added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 5:48 pmThey are all growing up now, aren’t they?
just when the story is about to pick up on the realizations and all, the 2nd season ends. eheheh. sorry can’t help being mean. I just feel so frustrated. May 1st is too far away for the novel to be released, so much more the other novels in order for the series to end, and hopefully will end in the 3rd season of the anime.
Thanks for the summary, Impzie.
Yuushun is a big mystery that needs to be tackled in one of the author’s side stories, i guess. so is the hyou clan and shusui.
anyway, as the season draws to a close, the anime seems to be doing a nice job to end where the 12th novel ended.
it’s gonna be a while before we see these characters again. I’ll really miss reading this category.
Until the final episode for season 2… thanks for the blogs.
KaeBoo added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 7:39 pmo i think i got confused, hehe shuuei was referring to Ryuuki when he said he was going to marry Jyuusan Hime but is that really true since shuurei does have a deadline
Peggy added these pithy words on Mar 02 08 at 8:06 pmwait a second!
is that Shuurei’s hand on Ryuuki’s forehead ?!
kyaaa !!! a hope for RyuukixShuurei pairing
i think that Shusui did the right thing although
i certainly believed that it would be better for
shuuei if she returned with them
but technically…
the return would only lessen
the need of the Hyou clan and thus
will let them see Shuurei in
a different angle…
not a NECESSITY……..
I’m POSITIVE this is not yet the end. ^_^ I mean, the novels are not yet over. I’d like to think we’re going through something similar to what happened to the Harry Potter series, where everyone had to wait for the books to come out even as the movies were being produced. (crossing fingers)
At this point, I don’t care much if Ryuuki ends up with Jyuusan-hime or some other noblewoman other than Shuurei, so long as there’s a proper ending. (Yeah right. As if I wouldn’t raise hell and cry buckets if they don’t end up together. hehehe.)
sumomo added these pithy words on Mar 03 08 at 3:39 amhye lmpz..nice and thx for the summary..the time pass so fast and now its come to the end season 2..everyone hope the ending will be happily ever after..i think this season will end sort like the ANCIENT CHINA(mean that maybe ryuuki married with shuurei and become a queen or shuurei does not married ryuuki because her official job or ryuuki with both shuurei and jyuusan hime and have lots lots concubine)…huhuhu…OR MAYBE(i just write maybe..)MAYBE there is season 3 with more conflits in the palace(politics) and family(just like the ANCIENT CHINA)…who know right??(well i guess it only)huhuhu…
ps; i hope ryuuki just choose shuurei to be his QUEEN..;p
freakish88 added these pithy words on Mar 03 08 at 5:47 am@Seamaiden: Well, the thing is that Shuuei is known as a very good boat undine? It seems that all the Ran clan members seem to be good boatsman, which is why Shun tells him not to be drowned by such a weak water current. He should get them back safely.
YA, I guess Shouka is never good at lying, since he’s as sharp a sword there is, both in words and swordmanship! That makes him so darn cool. I mean, look at his evil eyes when he opens them. Oh my gosh, Shouka-papa is just so awesome!
@Ryurei: O_O, i think it’s just speculation and wishful thinking on all their parts. Shuurei is clearly going to be with Ryuuren. Fine, I lie. ^^ There’s little information to suggest any pairing currently.
@Peggy: It’s not really being sweet. Jyuusan hime’s role into the palace is to marry Ryuuki. It is just saying as a matter of fact.
@Mary: Well, you do know that the emperor can have tons of wives, and it doesn’t mean that the first wife has to be the empress, you know? He can just have tons of concubines (bloody lucky guy, I want a harem too!).
@Sandie: In fact, there is a major petition for Fruits Basket. The second season never materalizes though. It’s really up to each individual.
@Delphyne: O_O no problem. Ya, I think that it’s going to be a wrap of everyone for now. It will be a while until the series will get a third season, if they ever get one. Look out for our preview for anime blogging in the spring season nevertheless! (shameless advertising).
@KaeBoo: I am very much thinking that it should be in an omake to describe the adventures of Reishin, Yuushun and whose the last person in their group @_@. Well, whatever it is, I am sure that it will reveal a lot about them. I also wish they will animate that one day. It can be perfect fillers for the likes of us. Seriously! >_<
@Aka-chan: yes, she even pinched his nose. Heh heh.
@Mystique: Well, whatever it is, Ruka will always want the blood of the Bara-hime, which is running in the blood of Shuurei. Shuurei will always be wanted by the Hyou clan.
@Sumomo: I actually think that Ryuuki will end up with Shuurei. Despite the plot twists, there has really been one strong coupling in this series, one that is constant along all the episodes. That is Shuurei x Ryuuki. This, coming from a more Seiran x Shuurei fan, is something I think.
@Freakish88: Time does move very fast. I doubt it will be that fast for any romantic feelings to truly develop between the two. The buds are slowly appearing…but still long.
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 03 08 at 6:06 amhmm i guess even through shuurei has the blood of bara-hime, she doesn’t really have any type of power?
Peggy added these pithy words on Mar 03 08 at 8:36 am@Impz…Hmmm…no, I think Ryuuki will definately get together with Jyusan-hime to fullfill his promise to be a good king and marry and have heirs…And SHuurei will forever work in the government, being loyal to Ryuuki as long as he’s emperor….and..she will never marry anyone because if it’s not Ryuuki, she probably doesn’t wanna marry anyone else. That’s what I think will eventually happen…
delphyne added these pithy words on Mar 03 08 at 8:20 pmWaaaaaaah! i don’t want jyuusan-hime & ryuuki to end up together!!! i want ryuukixshuurei!!! i ain’t giving up yet… there’s still one more episode. there’s still hope… somebody throw a big rock on shuurei (err… i dont wnna kill her though), somebody knock her out & hope that when she wakes up she’ll decide to marry ryuuki. but anyway, i dont want to force her. it’s still her choice. but talk about all the sacfrices and love that Ryuuki has given just for the sake of Shuurei. poor Ryuuki, but he can’t go on living his life just for the sake of waiting for Shuurei’s love. (sigh) i don’t want SaiMono to end tragically… Or else, they could’ve changed the title from Saiunkoku Monogatari into The Land of Unrequitted Love (as mentioned in the previous blogs)… that’s just so sad… wanting to be loved but never loved in return. waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
SiaoMei added these pithy words on Mar 04 08 at 5:37 am@ Impz… no, not in an omake, I would want to see their stories as part of the series itself, if not in an OVA instead. it would bring more color to the anime
alhtough, it would depend mainly on the novels, should they stick to the story line of which i would really hope they would… and the producers, of course.
oh well… it’s gonna be a while before the stories would progress.
To those labeled as evil novel people who love spoilers, charmian’s blogs would be coming out with the novel summaries, i hope (right, charmian? heehee. it’s great for japanese language practice
)
there are other anime to go crazy about for the mean time… try kyou kara maoh. only that they still don’t have a blogger for it just yet. it is bishie-filled, it is a comedy and the storyline is good, at least, i find it good. beware of shonen-ai, though.
’til the final episode. it has been fun. see you guys nest season. hahaha
cheers!
KaeBoo added these pithy words on Mar 04 08 at 4:28 pmShouka should tell Ryuuki to send Shuurei to Reishin to get his consent for Kouyuu.
LOL we all know he wouldn’t be able to deny her ^-^
And the scene where she would ask him would be hilarious!
D.J added these pithy words on Mar 05 08 at 7:51 pmis shuurei every going to find out about seiran being exile? and im guessing seiran doesnt have a chance with the leading lady, even though i want him too!!
d added these pithy words on Mar 06 08 at 10:58 pmHi Impz,
About Kouyuu
Kouyuu seems involved in 2 plots threads in the future :
- The censorate stuff because the Traditionalists faction want to hit the Exam faction by arresting/harming Kouyuu who was one of the youngest “Jougen”.
- The Reishin’s imperial family feud. Reishin won’t permit Kouyuu to enter fully at Ryuuki service however Shuurei can move him “a bit”, his wife the former Yuri Hime (Ryuuki hidden aunt) can also get him some sense & Reishin’s own wish of liberty & free will for his adoptive son will eventually allow Kouyuu to decide his own fate.
KrebMarkt added these pithy words on Mar 07 08 at 12:47 amHi,
I haven’t caught up to this episode yet. I’m still waiting for subs for episode 22, since my Japanese isn’t that great.
I appreciate the summaries, though! ^_^
Anyway…I had a few questions that aren’t directly related to this episode. First off…I don’t remember but…Seien is Seiran, right?? What happened to Seien and his mom? Why were they exiled? I don’t remember… >_
Saiun Fan added these pithy words on Mar 07 08 at 1:06 amHeh, sorry! This is my first time posting here…so I messed up my post… I just read that I shouldn’t add “>” and stuff like that.
The rest of my post above:
My next question is: There’s not going to be a Saiunkoku Season 3????!!! T_T
Last, Ryuuki’s mom was a self-centered, cold-hearted bio*tch, right? (Pardon my bluntness.) That’s why he always felt alone?
Thanks!! and thanks again for all of your hard work!!
Saiun Fan added these pithy words on Mar 07 08 at 1:37 am@Peggy: Ya. Unless you consider her ability to be so darn dense to be one
@KaeBoo: Lol, i didn’t watch any of the seasons, so I doubt I will be blogging any of it. Nevertheless, I will be blogging two shoujo animes this coming season, Vampire knight and Special A. If you are interested, you can always read up ^+^
@Kreb: I wonder if Shuurei will have any ability to really persuade Reishin though. I feel somewhat that Reishin will never be ready to allow Kouyuu to choose his own fate in terms of following Ryuuki until he is given hard evidence that Ryuuki is good enough. I am very sure that Reishin believes in free will, but he is like a father. He does not want his son to be under bad hands.
@Saiun: Yes, they were in a very problematic state since young as Seien is an eyesore with his superlative performances. In order to prevent Seien from being killed by his other brothers, he is banished out of the palace in order to return one day. I guess it is then that Seien decides that he is no longer interested in living that life after having such a beautiful family life with Shuurei.
On season 3, there is no information as yet. Well, everyone in the family is self-centered. Since Ryuuki is the youngest child (the one at the back of the queue for the throne), he is ignored mostly. He is useless to make use of. Guess his mom must be regretting now.
Impz added these pithy words on Mar 07 08 at 4:05 am@Impz
I think that will be an addition of personal interventions (Shuurei, Shooka & Yuri Hime) and events that will change Reishin mind.
Too bad that we won’t see Yuri Hime in this season. I just hope that we will see her in OVA or in season 3.
I want Yuri Hime to meet Ryuuki that would an hilarious meeting.
KrebMarkt added these pithy words on Mar 07 08 at 5:13 amo awesome, when will u be bloggin Special A impz….can’t wait and sad to see the last episode of Saiunkoku monogatari
Peggy added these pithy words on Mar 07 08 at 11:57 amim guessing since there’s no more material to work with (since it appears the next novels will take a loooong time coming), instead of a 3rd season, an OVA might be made instead.. just to tie up some loose threads here and there.
