I really happy this is back again, I really enjoyed the last two. I don’t watch anime often, but I still like the music and thanks to the last one, I managed to find alot of nice ones!

I agree the first show had the more catchy OP, though the OP for Okawari is not bad as a standalone. And the show as a whole grew on me. Some people seems to be bedeviled by the change of tone, but I can live with it.

Sorry, but I totally disagree there. There was actually a hearty bunch of great OPs this season. Some EDs deserve a good mention as well. Shugo Chara’s second ED is so incredibly catchy.

Wouldve put Sayonara and Zetsubou higher too and Shana down a couple. I don’t even think Shana would’ve been in my list. Gundam is still #1 for me, unfortunately ;_;

Gundam 00 I definitely agree is the best, but there aren’t really any stellar OPs this season. I tend to rate musical quality higher than the animation, so I would bump up Persona and Zetsubou higher than you have. But the mahou shoujo Zetsubou OP is victory~

The full version of the Il Teatrino OP is much better, it doesn’t have that weird splice at 38s. Plus, from a vocal performance point of view, it is one of the top anime OPs in my opinion – this girl knows how to sing, she sings with the song and doesn’t try and outsing it.

I also find Reflectia to be very well arranged.

Blaze was off when I first saw it, but like most of the music associated with Shana, they work better as you hear it more. And animation wise, Shana OPs are always amazing.

@Zeroblade: It’s exactly because KOTOKO didn’t sound like she always does that BLAZE is special to my ears. I guess I listened too much to her songs to be annoyed by them

@Shippoyasha: Well, I beg to differ about Minami-ke Okawari. It wasn’t posted here, but I had a special mention for Okawari… for the biggest disappointment of this season. The song is too solemn, and the opening looks much too serious and mysterious for what Minami-ke actually is: a funny Slice of Life show. It simply doesn’t fit in that conception. I would have appreciated a themed opening, like in the prequel… M-i-n-a-m-i-k-e let’s go!

For the parodies and interesting uh lyrics.

3) True Tears – [Reflectia] by [eufonius]

Not bad. It’s just suited to the show.

2) Ookami to Koushinryou – [Tabi no Tochū] by [Natsumi Kiyoura]

For the soothing, smooth vocals and melody.

1) ARIA The ORIGINATION – [Spirale] by [Yui Makino]

Best. Nothing beats the beauty of ARIA.

I thought the rest of the OPs were utter crap. >:|

My personal favorites were just Tabi no Tochuu and Heartbreaking Romance. I dunno why, but KOTOKO just didn’t sound like herself when I heard her in BLAZE. Probably why I hated it. Minami-ke Okawari’s OP is pretty cool too, though it kinda gives a different feel compared to what the series actually is.
