Comments on: H2O Episode 2: So…Impz didn’t like it…but I did!

I definitely prefer the first episode over this one, which isn’t saying much. I had high hopes for this series, but it is turning out to be very disappointing. For some reason I still have hope for the show to get better, which is the only thing that keeps me watching.

Calawain, the timeskip has been implied when Takuma mentioned that it took faster than expected to make friends. It couldn’t have been a day or two’s difference I’d wager. I agree they should have fleshed that part out, but maybe they were strapped for time (12 eps is AWFULLY short).

And Impz, I think the one thing that is striking is that unlike many shows like it, the deus ex happened from the get-go (Takuma being able to see) and not the other way around. Maybe that’s why so many people are miffed, understadably.

On a rather objective standpoint (hopefully), I guess I am somewhat wishing that there is deus ex machina to suddenly make the boy see. I am somewhat annoyed at the fact that he’s able to see just like almost instantly. I do wonder somewhat at the time skip probability, since he is invited around to the town. I do not think that it will be carried out that long ago.

Nevertheless, despite the sarcasm I presented in my own post, there are a few things that are definitely going.

1. The beating of Hayami.

2. The nonchalance of the class (AND THE TEACHER!)

3. The blind’s boy centrality in this (i do not think that he is here for the first time for sure)

These are intrinsic plots that will make H20 decent and will definitely be answered eventually.

I saw zero mention of a timeskip in this episode, so I don’t know where that could come from. And uh if you’ve watched much in the way of harem shows it’s really pretty normal for the main guy to make friends with tons of girls right at the start with little effort.

It’s called a timeskip Calawain. Obviously it was not a ‘today then tomorrow’ thing because that’s what Takuma alluded to from the beginning. It won’t make sense for him to make friends in a day’s time and have a meeting with a bunch of girls either. I wager it took maybe a week or two until the events in episode 2 happened since ep 1 (not sure if the bullying thing wasn’t happening since. I can’t explain that myself).

It’s just that some of you guys are putting way too much pressure on a show that is basically full of mysteries. I don’t see how it differs so much on others of its genre.

Every time I comment on it? The hell are you smoking? Last episode I said it was alright and had potential this is the first time I said trainwreck. Plus, one of the benefits of writing for this blog is that I can flame everyone else’s posts teehee~

And the reason this episode crashed the show for me was the fact that he can see now and lol it’s not a big deal? They should be partying or at least surprised, nobody mentioned it at all and it was just assumed oh this guy could always see. And the show was advertised as being about the blind guy. Finally, you can’t really compare it to Myself;Yourself because the beauty of that show was the massive plot twists in the last 4 episodes, everything before that wasn’t anything beyond standard harem fare. It’s too early to compare it to M;Y, I’m just judging it on what the first two episodes brought.

And the hate train continues. For one, there are TONS of visual novel style anime with the supernatural aspects that are either revealed little or none at all (Kanon. Kanon basically explained nothing and left it at that).

And Calawain, if you’re entertained by it enough to at least watch it, we don’t need to hear how it’s ‘a trainwreck’ every time you comment on it. We get it. I would argue that H2O isn’t exactly made as optimally either, but it’s not as outright terrible as everybody keeps saying it is. To me, it’s no different from other middling but otherwise decent shows like Myself Yourself or Kimikiss.

I mean, I was dissapointed at how he got his vision back too but I still think it’s way too early to judge the series. Only two episodes guys!! Haha, but then again, I’m still an amateur compared to many of my fellow bloggers so who knows

I never pay attention to that SaiGAR trainwreck of a contest. But if I had to vote, I’d vote for Takuma.

But then again; that’s after-hour eye-heroin anime for you. Make the male lead (if there is one) a punching bag and make that theme a running gag…

So yeah. This is the “quota” anime I’m collecting along with Rental Magica, Suteki Tantei Labyrinth, and Zoku So Long, Mr. Despair. The only “reasonably cool” show out is Gundam 00. And it’s only because of Saji being a woman’s boyfriend, Patrick, Graham, Tiera, and Setsuna.

Japan’s anime industry is missing that thing between their legs men usually have. And the spine that holds their body up as well. I’m sticking to this opinion.

@Igunis: Honestly, I am watching this to see how bad it is going. H20 is really an over dramatic, over cheesy version of AIR. AIR, despite its excellence, has its rather suspectable moments. H20 reveals tons, and I am personally very annoyed with how the male protagonist gets his eyes recovered. No one even questioned it at all.
