Call me Shinra-sama, boy
Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de (They Are My Noble Masters) is shortened to Kimiaru, and as the full name is waaaaaay too long for me to type out and remember that’s how I’m going to refer to it. On the blogging front I’m back with a vengeance, after my nice winter holidays. In addition to Kimiaru I’ll probably be dabbling in blogging Rosario to Vampire. No summary this week, you can find one provided by Omni. I’ll start summaries next week, as it doesn’t look like it’s going to get much coverage in the blogs I read at least.

Story Premise- Ren and his brother complex-afflicted older sister Mihato run away from home because of an alcoholic and abusive father. They look for a job in town and Ren runs into twin-tailed Miyu who is suffering from anemia in the heat. Ren brings her back to the rich house she lives in and as a thank you they give Ren and Mihato a temporary job as butler and maid.
Impressions- Oh yes, Shinra-sama obviously gives off massive Hime (Kaibutsu Oujo) vibes, and I don’t mind at all. Hime’s delicious, mature, and imposing personality made her one of my favorite characters of the year, so I have no problem with the similarities. Shinra even introduced herself by saying that her name is derived from the word that means everything that exists in the universe. She does have her differences though, she apparently loves cute things, as shown in this shot of her rubbing on her “kawaii imouto,” her little panda toy, and the stuffed pandas she sleeps with. Ren’s sister Mihato is another character I find delicious, not only is she going to be the big breasted meido, but she has a brother complex and a dark and devious side to her. Shinra’s sister Miyu has potential as well, as despite Shinra’s declaration that she is a loli, Miyu insists that she is a sexy and smart woman. Ren himself seems pretty solid so far, I really like his “fighting spirit” for the lack of a better phrase, standing up to the Colonel. Dunno what’s up with the Naruto whiskers though, was a bit funny looking.
Aside from the great characters is the equally awesome voice acting. Shizuka Itou (Hinagiku, Wilhelmia, Tama-nee) is one of my favorites, and portrays Shinra’s dignified yet playful character very well. Yuko Goto needs little introduction and voices Miyu, and I am always impressed with the wide range of character types that she can play. I do prefer her voicing stronger and tougher sounding characters such as Miyu and Bell Zephyr (Night Wizard) over characters like Mikuru (Haruhi) and Kaede (Shuffle!). The final seiyuu I wanted to comment on was Tomokazu Seki (Souske, Yzak, Touji), who plays Ren. One of the best male seiyuu in my opinion, and one that is also quite prolific. In the first episode at least he frequently uses his Anime Tenchou and Yzak loud and yelling voice which is pretty GAR to me and something I look forward to continuing.
It’s easy to draw comparisons from this show to Hayate no Gotoku, from the premise of the story and some of the characters. I think the producers realize that, as in the preview for the next episode the make a seiyuu joke with Shinra saying that next episode Ren transfers to the school where she is the student council president, an obvious reference to Shizuka Itou’s work as Hinagiku in Hayate. However, it is also a show that is going to take a totally different direction from what I gather. It’s not a parody or reference anime first off, and there’s a much wider cast of characters at the mansion itself. We’ll see how it pans out in that direction. The animation left much to be desired in some spots, including just laziness or something, I really don’t get the joke if it’s supposed to be funny or make a point like in Lucky Star. However, aside from that the characters are great and I had a lot of laughs in the first episode. Definitely recommended so far and something I plan on blogging every week.
Woot, this is the good thing about introducing icons. Even I can hijack someone’s post when I want to make my own personal impressions. Kimiaru is definitely not a deep show but there are so many good things about this that will work wonders as a comedy. Firstly, the loli is so delicious that it is impossible to ignore her by any chance. I also like the Shinra-sama quite a bit, since she is an extremely good compliment to the loli in terms of character dynamics. To be honest, I really thought that she is a serious character (the haughty and serious type) when they showed her first playing as a conductor.
However, the fact that she introduces her loli sister just makes me laugh so much that I nearly fell off my chair. I do not really have any huge impressions of the other characters to be honest, but I am sure they will give more time to introduce them one by one. Just like Calawain, I cannot wait for the next episode!

The episode was better than expected. I didn’t want to admit that I enjoyed it… but I did.
korosora added these pithy words on Jan 11 08 at 8:02 amThis is gonna be one enjoyable series! I LOL’d almost the entire time while watching this XD
Casting TomoSeki for Ren is perfect! ^^
Kaibutsu Oujo’s Hime was a fine character, sadly marooned in a not-very-good series (though I enjoyed it, I still think it was rubbish). I’m with you that this show has potential, and I do like a bit’o'the butler-related comedy.

Yeah I’m really looking forward to it. They picked a great seiyuu for Ren, to be honest it’s a good choice to have a very distinct voice for that role so people are less likely to compare it to Hayate hah
@IKnight
Yeah I agree, the series was medicore to passable at times, I watched it for Hime and the vampire chick, forgot her name.
