Comparing the pros and cons of a collaborative anime blog~

f2de9a947dd193c316c1bdf7e9dc836a.jpg

In recent years the popularity of collaborative blogs has soared. In fact, many of the top blogs in technorati employ collaboration of some sort. A group blog, on the surface, seems to be a very logical choice if we want to keep the blog alive. Most of us often struggle to write after a few months of active blogging. It can be down to laziness, it can be down to real life commitments or you are lonely. First of all, this short piece is motivated by TJ_Han’s interview with Sea Slugs. I guess for some of you out there who are starting a blog, it is perhaps a good time to give a personal experience on blogging in THAT. For those who are wondering about changing your own solo blog into a group effort of strangers, you can use this entry as a reflection.

On a side note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KUROGANE!

The “Cannot-game-for-nuts” Impz reviews a MMORPG called Mythos?

screenshot_000005.jpg
This is my character in the game, quite cool satyr. What can I say, I love guns.

This is a warning for all who are going to read this review. I am not someone who plays many games, due to my inability to have any sense of agility and direction in any game that requires reflexes. I have not played most of the famous MMORPG: Lineage, Granda Espada (my PC was too awful to play it then, and it’s laggy), WoW or Asheron’s call. Hence, I am reviewing this game on a clean slate without much knowledge on the similar games.

You will usually not associate me with any form of MMORPG due to my hatred of various things that plagued such massive online games: Retarded flamers, newbie-unfriendly domains and the steep difficulty of the game. However, Mythos has clearly showed something promising despite still being in the developmental stage. I am no expert of games, but Mythos, a closed beta game, might just be on something great if they do their things well enough. Of course, you can go to the expert or a gamer’s review for a better understanding of the game mechanics. If you are just a normal casual gamer and wants to hear a normal casual gamer talking about this game, read on.

Mythos, a free-to-play closed beta MMORPG, is the brainchild side project of Flagship Studios who made Hellgate London. The game happens in the world of Uld. It is a young world after the dark days during the war between the Kingdoms and Discordia. In this new world, you are born either as a satyr, gremlin and human. As a young adventurer, the promise of ruins and treasure is making your wanderlust grow, as you get ready to explore this new world.

This is my foray into the MMORPG world of dungeon crawling, treasure hunting and massive deaths.

The release of Dark Tamaki – Never make a docile swordswoman angry

resized-001-snapshot20080129154634.jpg
How dare you try to injure my Tamaki with despicable means!

I usually do not blog about Bamboo Blade, even though I am always raving over the comedy and the lovely characters in the kendo club. However, after a period of rather peaceful and boring cameos of Tamaki, she suddenly returns into the main frame with the battle with an absolute bitch who does everything against the rules to win. Gamesmanship is one thing but the way she tries to beat Tamaki is way beyond the limits of honorable gamesmanship. I know I have watched this particular scene 15 times, but every inch of my skin still stands in fear every single time I see the dark Tamaki.

After the break is a long chunk of images showing the key scenes in that battle. GO, DARK TAMAKI!

Spoilers are from Episode 17, so those who have not watched it should not venture further unless you wish to be spoiled by the awesomeness of Tamaki.

Rosario + Vampire Episode 3/4- The Gonzostrophe

rosariomain.jpg

T_T indeed Yukari-chan . . . T_T indeed

I’m really not one to post big negative posts or rants, but sometimes you just can’t help yourself. First, I must apoligize to Hinano for alas, after the first 2 episodes I was hopeful that this show would be fun and not totally blow ass. However, after the third and especially the fourth episode I smashed my head onto my desk hoping that it was just a bad dream and that I would wake up. More on the wonderful world of Gonzo fillers and other rants and musings after the jump.

True Tears 4: Splashy Splashy is Fun

snapshot20080127201815.jpg
Sorry Noe but you have to share the spotlight…though you still look darling while pouting.

Damn you PA works for dividing my loyalties! I mentioned before how I hoped that Hiromi and Aiko will rise to the occasion and prove themselves as worthy adversaries for Noe, and yes Hiromi and Aiko have risen to the occasion admirably. However now that they have I am not sure which pairing I would like to see. It also helps that other than the Nakagami wife every one is a decent enough bloke.
