Finals are finally done for me and work turned out to be a whole lot of nothing in the end since the new log in system was implemented a few months back. Well at least is still early in the fiscal year for the teething problems to show up, but as always Gundam 00 always manages to go down the slippery slope from the high point that was episode 9. So in the future the Union has finally lowered the drinking age to 20, indeed this is good news unless of course you live where the age was once lower. In that case blame the Japanese.

I’ll be honest part of my tardiness was due to a Mass Effect binge that left me with little motivation to watch some sub par sci-fi. It surprising how much Bioware put into their universe while every damn sci-fi anime in recent was ridden with mediocrity with more emo than detail. I bring this up because if this Aeolia Schenberg of deutsche physik intended to warn man about going to space before achieving some world government to be way off the mark and horribly misguided. The only reason why space technology has advanced as far it did was because the Soviets and Americans were eager to prove their technical and scientific superiority over the other. The only reason for an all encompassing supra national entity to form would in all probability be first contact with beings from beyond the moon or the cost of colonization becomes more than what one country could afford. There is no point in uniting if there are no national benefits to each member. Unless you are some high strung idealist who believes that humans will come together out of the goodness of their hearts to make deserts bloom and ice cream flow from rivers.

I really don’t know what that bloody white paste was so I’ll assume the master chef Saji was in fact serving ranch chip dip to Louise’s mom. Since it was Saji cooking and not Louise I assume that Louise is an incompetent cook as well, as culinary skills would require more brain cells than she actually possesses. Graham and his rock band the Flag Fighters quibble about how the HRL lost 20 units to Naughty Nadleeh and Krazy Kyrios. In fact Graham has done so little fighting I bet he was later commissioned to write a new recruiting song for the Union National Guard to replace “Citizen Soldiers” in theaters across the land. If you have seen a movie recently in the States you know precisely what I mean, if not I suggest you maintain your ignorance…if not youtube has what you seek. Truth is I think that the Marines have the best and most long lived ad campaign. I don’t think the Guard is ever going to live it down no matter how many bland tasteless recruiting jokes are made. After all “Army of One” didn’t imply team work, and I can’t even count how many Army Strong jokes I have come across.

Back at CB Tieria is blaming everyone else for the failures while Sumeragi proves herself again most unworthy of her Captaincy by not holding a mast to punish him for impudence. Instead she retreats bravely to the bottle. Still Tieria was right to mock one person in the crew Christina. She has no right to pout after cowering in fear, when danger rears its ugly head she bravely turned and fled. Yes Brave Christina turned about without and gallantly she chickened out. Tieria is apparently Veda’s lover going above and beyond the call of duty to service placate their machine god. The Haptism twins finally meet face to face sort of while Corner is trying to bring peace to the Middle East by making things ripe for CB to blow it all to hell. Good to see Shirin at her A-game to defeat the pedo-prince of the UN. Mariana has not need for some emo dolt in a Gundam to protect her, she has a minister that is the new Li Si, only better since yuri protects. It should come as no surprise that Corner is trying to get Mariana killed, no doubt under his direction the next UN scandal will be pedogate or ephebogate depending on where you prefer to draw a distinction. Corner can’t handle all woman otome, so he plans on having them all killed in a war while evacuating all the children. Besides he swears in the name of God that he will do everything in his power to help. Too bad he is a Godless infidel.

Shouta Hallelujah was also more manly than the all the Meisters combined.

See even a battle hardened veteran like Sergei can’t see why Soma and her kin are dangerous. Only some unprincipled and unscrupulous brute would want to strike that face.

Back with the HRL the super soldier guys get a shock when CB violates international law and kills a bunch of kids. Now as bad as altering is kids, how come CB gets to kill kids and still look like heroes? As usual Allelujah chickens out and Hallelujah the rapist earns another point of renown; slayer of children. Still why the hell did they use an office building for their labs? An under ground bunker some where deep in HRL territory would have made more sense. Still CB is above the law, no doubt they will soon be executing prisoners, Christina will go forth and pillage, and the Meisters will rape every man, woman, child, and computer. Now that Soma is the last of her people she is honor bound to avenge the Kinslaying at Alqualonde (Since sunrise can’t name a space station I opted to borrow from Tolkein). Soma earns a lot of points for being the last of the Calaquendi as far as I am concerned she can do no wrong for everything she will do is for the sake of the fallen. I salute her stoicism in the face of the emo Meisters of CB. I lament how far the HRL has forgotten their communist roots, for in Soviet Russia and Mao China with press such as that no one would have known that Napoleon lost at Waterloo. Better yet since CB are a bunch of terrorists why not maintain that what they leaked were lies? After all you could call it a hospital for children with currently incurable diseases. The HRL has a pile of rubble burying the bodies of thousands of kids…if they say its a hospital and those CB terrorists say it was a research facility who would you believe? Besides whatever evidence there was ended up destroyed any way…convenient no?

Ah, a toast over the burnt corpses of the children you butchered is just weird, eh? Whatever happened to wrong?

Well at least the HRL is opting for secret negotiations with the Union, so unlike Sumeragi the HRL big wigs are not stupid. Ah realpolitik, good to see that the HRL has given up campaigns and five year plans. As Spock would say, “Only Bryan could go to China.” I do hope that Soma gets a better pink MS, even better if she and Sergei are forced to work with the Flag Fighters in a marriage of convenience. Their decision to keep Sergei the correct one since Sergei did do all the right things when they last met. Like a real commander he was prepared to accept the consequences, all of them. He even tendered his resignation, unlike one busty pretender captain of a terrorist organization.

If the answer is not Billy “Goat” Katagiri then I will be more than pleasantly surprised…

Sumeragi found a new drinking partner in the Allelujah for her pale face fire water parties. As time goes on she just seems to sink lower and lower. At this point her lack of modesty seems like virtue, at least Sunrise spared us her gigantic mammary glands and opted for smaller perkier ones. Even General Grant is not Sumeragi bad; he had a legitimate reason to suffer from depression. Grant failed at just about everything and he tried a lot of things civilian. Sumeragi still drinks to drown the shame of her lack of godlike omnipotence and her loss of her billy goat. It makes me sick as Sumeragi is supposedly a commander of some years, and still in her relative commander ranking is but a pale of shadow of the even more infamously drunken quartermaster General Grant. Sunrise can’t do character flaws right any more; it ought to be more outlandish like Char with his love young girls barely into puberty and man crush for Amuro.
