I just watched this hilarious “special” and was surprised that they mentioned Reishin but didn’t mention Kijin (the one with the mask). Kijin is really the one most suited to Shuurei’s personality type: workaholic, oblivious, and irresistible to the opposite sex. He could even protect Shuurei, since his bishie face supposedly causes everyone (including men) projectile nosebleeds when witnessing his divine beauty.

Both of them are great at scheduling, and would enjoy scheduling their conjugal visits. She will offer him her manju buns, he will take off his mask, she can go monkey love all over his bishie self, and then it is back to work work work like a good little couple of devoted public servants. LOL.

But seriously, I think that she will end up choosing Ryuuki. She would not have been able to achieve any of her hopes and dreams thus far if Ryuuki hadn’t facilitated the means for her to do so. It also seems logical since the political climate of Saiunkoku indicates that such a marriage would possibly derail the civil war within the clans.

Shuurei has, however, unable to find him marriageable. Imagine your husband-to-be plays his horrid flute 24/7 just to chase away evil spirits + drive every living soul mental regardlessly with his own difficult opinions. She won’t have much of a scoial life with this guy around, and that’s a big no-no since she’s has a public persona as an official. But the biggest bonus to have Ryuuren by your side is he’s a very good scout with sharp, accurate intuition - very vital for governance purposes. Also, Ryuuren is a friend in need when you need him most for a shoulder to cry on or a lending hand to fight off enemies

@prowse123: haha……. you are SO TOTALLY right. it is so true, and the seiran but the seiran and shuurei pairing i don’t think it would be that bad because seiran also sacrificed a lot for shuurei too. he protected her and he supported when she needed support. but since ryuuki is so much cuter and funnier. i side the shuureixryuuki pairing!
