Saiunkoku Monogatari II Episode 29 – “遠ざかる程想いが募る”

saimono29cover.jpg

Shuurei received information from the last episode that she will be a cover for the Jyuusan Hime. It means that she will be returning to the palace where all the “concubines” will stay. However, as we saw from the little snippets, Jyuusan Hime is no sitting duck. She is just as spunky compared to Shuurei, possibly even more so. It will definitely be a very interesting twist when Shuurei and Jyuusan Hime officially meet each other. Seiga also seemed to have a role to play in this, but it is not stated in the last episode.

This episode sets up the stage for the two, as well as character development for Shuuei and Shusui.

Episode summary

saimono29-1.jpg

Jyuusan Hime came in just in time to stop Seiran from pestering Shuuei. Jyuusan Hime said she had private matters to discuss with Shuuei, as Seiran took his leave. Jyuusan Hime said Seiran was oblivious to the choice she was given by the clan. The two choices were “Go to the palace” or “Marry Seiran”. Shuuei said that he could not imagine the latter choice as it was bad enough to have a loony brother like Ryuuren, and he would die with a brother-in-law like Seiran. Shuuei said he was surprised that she would come to become a concubine. He then replied to her comment that she would probably understand Ryuuki the most. Shuuei was somewhat surprised at his brothers’ swift actions.

Jyuusen Hime said that Shuuei eventually had to make a choice between the Ran clan and Ryuuki, and said he was silly to receive the flower when he knew he could not fulfill his promise. She sympathized with Ryuuki but told Shuuei that delaying his decision would be disastrous. When she asked whether Shuuei would abandon the Ran clan, he said the Ran surname was all that he had. Jyuusan Hime had faith that he would choose a path soon, unlike Seiran who felt that Shuuei would be too indecisive. Jyuusan Hime said that Shuuei could kill her to solve the issue, but Shuuei said he could not do that. Jyuusan Hime also realized that it was not Shuuei who sent the assassins to kill her.

Shuurei and Suou Shin were checking on the prison and its general cleanliness. As the guard praised Shuurei to be the only official other than Seiga to take their job with pride, Shuurei laughed uneasily as she “agreed”. The two were also trying to persuade a free loading prisoner (who was clear of murder) to come out. He refused to be released since food and the life here was much better due to Shuurei’s work. The prisoner said that he would come out if Shuurei was more gentle, and Shuurei did a rather awful attempt to persuade the prisoner. Suou Shin said that a man devoid of women would find the most unattractive woman to be attractive. The prisoner said being too frank would cause his love life to be stagnant.

In the end, he decided to go out since he found Shuurei to be cute. He also added that his ex-love was very similar to Shuurei. When Shuurei apologized for the false judgment, he said it was not her who made the mistake. Shuurei also reprimanded him for not speaking out that he was innocent as he said once again that she was really like his ex-flame. He then warned her about the dead spirit in the prison. Suou Shin said it was a very famous tale, as Shuurei and Suou Shin were chased by some people sent to kill them. Eventually, a smoke bomb thrown by Shuurei shook off their pursuers.

saimono29-2.jpg

When they reached the investigative department, they were in a complete mess as Seiga ridiculed Shuurei. He actually came over to greet them, and Shuurei questioned about the security of the back palace. Seiga said it would be troublesome if the assassin could not enter at all, and reminded Shuurei that she was merely a body double for Jyuusan Hime. Seiga also informed her that her work would be taken over by him. Shuurei was about to complain about her jobs being taken over by Seiga, and Suou Shin told her that she should give thanks when superiors like Seiga did her work. Suou Shin also reminded her that Seiga had much more work experience. Shuurei said that she found it hard to thank people like Seiga, but would thank someone like Suou Shin.

Suou Shin told her to imagine her superior to be him, and explained that it allowed more time for her to do things she wanted. Shuurei was energized by those words. Suou Shin was extremely tired after researching on the names of those who died in prison. Shuurei realized that there was a discrepancy in the numbers of deaths in the prison. Riou came in to visit Shuurei and Shuurei said he was not authorized to enter. Riou told her that his rank in the palace was even higher than Kouki. Shuurei offered to brew tea, but Riou said that he would do it since men would take advantage of women. However, he accepted Shuurei’s offer of the er hu.

Riou said that he might have been overboard with some words said to Ryuuki, even though it was true. Riou said Ryuuki might be crying, as we have a cut scene of Ryuuki lamenting to Shusui. Ryuuki then pressed Shusui to do some sewing to change his mood. Shuurei told Riou to apologize and said that Ryuuki was very kind. Shuurei added that it was clear that Ryuuki liked Riou, taking Riou by surprise. Shusui discussed about Jyuusan Hime and Shuurei’s re-entrance of the back palace, and Ryuuki was worried about that. Ryuuki asked if Shusui had any intention to marry, as he said that he would be lonely without her. Shusui said she wished to stay by his side, but she might need to leave one day. She said that she had been escaping all the time, and it would get to her one day.

While Shusui walked along the corridor, the voices of “Obey orders, finish the mission” rang in her head. Riou walked past and said that Shusui did well to resist the calls up to now. When Riou tried to help Shusui back to her room, she screamed out in fear as Riou said that he felt that he was hated badly. Shuuei rushed forward to protect her, only for Shusui to murmur a word of rescue to “Shouka”. As Shuuei returned to his room, Jyuusan Hime asked whether the fan was from someone he loved. However, he said there was little hint of romance and Shusui already had someone she loved.

Jyuusan Hime asked whether the lady was from the back palace, and Shuuei said she was. The scene at the palace was all right, but since the investigative department was allowed to freely get through, the officers would be blamed if anything happened. Jyuusan Hime complained that Shuuei did not care about them, but he said that they would do their best to survive. Shuuei said that he asked Jyuusan Hime to inform Ryuuki that the next time he met Ryuuki would be his last. There was also another thing, but the scene changed to Shusui and Seiran receiving Shuurei. Shuurei realized that Shusui was not feeling well. Shuurei also realized who Jyuusan Hime was.

Thoughts

saimono29-3.jpg

Is it just me but Riou seems to show almost no form of hostility toward Shusui. I mean, it is apparent that Shusui is totally freaked out by the appearance of Riou, but it feels to me that Riou probably does not intend to torture or torment Shusui at all. Despite his harsh and frank words, it is clear that he is not malicious toward anyone at all. In fact, Riou looks a bit too harmless to be one of the Hyou clan, especially when he said with a slightly sad tone that he was hated by Shusui.

That said, it seems that the anime is finally hitting the right notes of tension as there are a few plots running around, and quite a few are more explicitly interesting. I mean, it is fun to see Shuurei running around, but it seems that Shuurei tends to do better when she’s not the main focus of the plot. She is still in the thick of the action, but the plot itself is less centric on her currently. I actually like the refreshing entrance of Jyuusan Hime, and she’s proving to be a very strong headed and attractive lady. YOU GO, GIRL! I also wonder about the under currents behind the assassination of Jyuusan Hime.

It is definitely very hard to think of a group of people that dares to antagonize the Ran clan, especially by killing their Jyuusan Hime of all people. It is a curious thing about the arrangement on marrying Seiran. I wonder why they would even think of pushing Jyuusan Hime to Seiran. As Shuuei puts it brilliantly well, it is definitely a very scary thought by any standards. I think that Seiran can be really scary and pushy when it comes to things that needs to be done, and he seems somewhat judgmental on some people. That is perhaps the reason why Seiran is rather harsh to Shuuei for the few times they met eye to eye.

I actually like Suou Shin’s role in the anime right now. He is perhaps the calming light around Shuurei to give her a fresh perspective on things that should be rather honest for most people. Despite his lack of apparent “talent”, it is clear that Shuurei needs this form of level headed personnel beside her. I mean, one simple event is apparent from Shuurei’s anger at her work taken away by Seiga, but it simply gives more time for her to do her own things.

Lastly, I wonder why Jyuusen Hime suggested Shuuei to kill her. In addition, I find it somewhat disturbing how she spoke in a matter of fact that she initially had Shuuei being one of the possible people to assassinate her. I mean, it’s probably obvious that Shuuei is not a cold blooded creature but I am surprised how Jyuusen Hime is so brave or foolhardy to treat her life as an entity. I really want to know what has brought up such a refreshing and interesting view point to life.

Anyway, that’s about it from me. I will love to hear what you feel about this episode!

Well I think we’ll find out soon why Jyuusan is the way she is …she had atleast 2 very traumatic events in her childhood *but that’s all I’ll say*
The anime probably won’t be specific about certain details of the novel (we’ve got only 9 episodes left) but The Ran Triplets (Head of Ran clan) are aware that Seiran is Prince Seien and before he was exiled from the court he was their favorite in terms of heir to the throne.
Jyuusan Hime and Seiran have some sort of ‘antagonism’ going on in the novel but She seems to get along marvalously with Ryuuki lol (ah you know can’t always get along with the in-laws :D )

Shusui is freaked out by the appearance of Riou because of the family riou represents not just plainly because of riou himself. I wonder how they will settle the issue of shusui *shrugs*

@kagomille… shuuei kills who? his sister jyuusan-hime, his new “love” shuusui or his emperor’s love shuurei?

i’m excited about the next episode. :D

i wonder up to how much of the novel they’d cram there? heeheehee

the anime is almost on the same page of the story as that of the novels now.

then, the fans are gonna be left hanging until the season 3, if there be any.

Argh! If Saiunkoku pulls a Fushigi Yuugi and marries off Ryuuki to some Mary Sue, I’m gonna scream. And then I’m giving up on shojo and going back to my first love: plain and simple sword-swinging zen.

No kidding! I really like all the development going on, but if Ryuuki/Shuurei doesn’t happen I seriously will be wondering why I watched the first season at all, since they ended it with a move in that direction.

SHUUREIXRYUUKI FOR EVER PEOPLES!!! if it doesn’t end like this like i said in the past comments i’ve made, the little sweet heart moving romance moments of shuurei and ryuuki together would be just a waste. if Ryuuki ends up w/ jyuusan hime then i wouldn’t be ok with that, though i do like jyuusan hime too, but i mean i just won’t be right. would you guys agree. and according to the animenewsnetwork.com site it says that the next episode which is ep 30 won’t be out until Dec. 22,2007! i feel so depressed because of this.*sniff*

I’m not surprised by Jyuusan-hime’s thoughts that perhaps Shuuei might have tried to have her killed.

The Ran clan is very powerful after all and no doubt ruthless. Probably more so to members of their own family since they want to make sure they maintain their power.

So I’m sure there wasn’t a lot of love and laughter in that household like there was in Shuurei’s home despite her lack of funds growing up.

After all we know too that her family has a cold streak in it too. Whilst Shouka’s brothers don’t seem overly cruel, we know that they can be particularly strict at times.

I imagine the Ran clan goes waaaaaaay beyond strict.

It seems more and more likely that a Season 3 (if we do get it) will be after a 1-2 year hiatus. They may just be able to squeeze in up to Novel #12 into Season 2, but then where would we be?

The animators would run out of storyline. And I think we all agree that we don’t want the animators to create filler episodes!

But a hiatus would be too awful to contemplate! Life without SaiMono…?!

I just wish someone would make an official announcement already!!! Then we’ll at least know either way. Didn’t the announcement regarding Season 2 come out around this time last year?

    Hi there!

    I’ve been lurking around your blog for a while now as I was catching up to the most recent Saiunkoku episodes. Thank you so much for the summaries; they really help suppliment what I know from watching the Chinese subs and straighten some things out. :D And btw, I’m also a big EigetsuxKourin fan so I was squeeing with you in spirit, though not in time and space, over the development of their relationship. XD;;

About this episode, I really like Jyuusen Hime as well. Her personality certainly seem very similar to Shuurei’s. But I find the development between Shushui and Shuuei a bit sudden. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been paying enough attention, but I don’t think there was really any hints of either of them having feelings for the other person until very recently. As for the plot, I wonder how this season will end. It seems the anime is now quickly catching up with the novel and as the last novel hasn’t yet resolved the issue with the Ran clan, it makes me think we might get an original anime ending.

@Kou Shuurei: oh ya, now to think of it, I finally remember the reason. They might be trying to use Seiran as a means to usurp Ryuuki. Oh well, I do want to see more Seiran x Jyuusan Hime talk. They seem so different that it will be extremely amusing.

@Korosora: yep, they are picking up slowly but surely!

@Neko79: By the looks of it, it seems that Shusui is reaching her limits. I believe that she might possibly return to the queen and fulfill her mission. However, the mission seems to be related to the palace too. Is it going to revenge against Ryuuki?

@Kagomilee: It will be insane to kill Jyuusan Hime. She’s her sister after all. No brother in their right mind will ever want to kill a sister he loves.

@Kaeboo: Well, I cannot wait to see the development of Jyuusan Hime since she’s one of the characters that is good eye candy (hey, i ain’t any bishie loving gal, I like my cute gals). So, ya, I got a feeling that they might just make it to season 3 a long time later. That said, the next week seems to be a filler.

@Sakura: HAHAHAHA! I hope not too.

@Mbiogirl: You know, I personally think that there will be little conclusion on the romance of shuurei x ryuuki even after this season. It is clear that shuurei does not have the maturity in her heart to learn to love. She does not seem to have the capability to do that for a while still.

    @Ori: hehe, don’t we all?

@Bamboowitch: Well, he seems like he knows what is going on, but is not trying to make matters worse. that is definitely fine for me. However, Shuuei made his own mistake when he accepted the flower. Now, he has to pick up the pieces.

@Azc: hahaha, i doubt it will ever be a waste since everyone around who supports the pairing will make a major decry over the situation. I can even imagine a huge debate why the author did so. HAH!

@DJ: I guess she is just being realistic but the Ran clan seems like a really protective clan. Nevertheless, i do not think that they are ruthless against their own, simply wanting to make sure they know where they stand. The ran clan does not want their own kind to support the king, that’s all.

@Alida: Well, i think that they are probably going to have some fillers or re-caps of issues in order to give it more time for new material to come out. As expected, with the festive season coming up, there are some “filler episodes”. I do wish that saiunkoku monogatari will continue since it’s one of my chief motivations to blog as well.

@Delphyne: Actually, it’s even more amusing how he tries to derive pleasure from Shusui’s inability to do any form of sewing. Ryuuki must be a closet sadist :P

@Mangaka-chan: Arr, I do encourage you to comment more then! Well, the thing about her is that she seems to have a more worldly view of things compared to the innocent Shuurei. I think the development between Shusui and Shuuei is probably sudden for those who did not notice, but there has been hints and digs at Shuuei over Shusui a few times. It’s not very clear then, and it will only seem apparent now that we reached this stage.

Nevertheless, there’s little evidence to show the progression, and it’s merely because i have been spoiled evily by many novel summaries here that i know of such development. I do wonder if they will rush into doing an original anime ending. I highly doubt so. I think they will pull some fillers and delay the next season a little.

I think I’ve watched too much chinese historic drama’s in the past XD
But it’s difficult to not accept the emperor’s flower (Well in the drama’s it would be a position or a woman or something on those lines)
Everytime the person refuses the emperor would be offended and everyone will hate you XD Hm. Though coming to think of it, Shuuei was hardly under pressure was he? I’d like to see what he’ll do in the future episodeseees

    @Impz I really hope there will be a 3rd season verses an original ending. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it works out. :p As for Shuuei and Shushui, maybe I should really go and rewatch the first season. I went through it kinda quick so maybe I missed stuff. xD;;

On another note, I was looking back at some of your older entries and I noticed there appears to be something wrong with some entries. A large portion of some entries have gone missing, so that there’s no text or images at all. This only seems to affect the entries where you explained the episode’s kanji title and I wonder if it has something to do with that.

To answer the question of why the 13th princess would either have to marry Ryuukie or Serian, is because the Ran Clan knows the Serian is really Prince Sien (After all it didn’t take Shuuie much to realize it) and at one time the Ran triplets were considering supporting him as king (before the whole exile thing). But then when it came down to it, they decided not to support him…so maybe they are reconsidering Sein now (since he has softened a bit, yes really he has). Could this be a possible insight into the Ran triplets wanting someone else on the throne??? And using their sister to manipulate the husband? Although that wouldn’t work with Sein, and personally I think she is too wonderful to Ryuukie to do such a thing!

    Thanks for the update

    Hi everyone!

Lots happened in the last two episodes. I think they had to make up for that boring recap (ep27). So finally Jyuusan Hime arrives. If anyone is familiar with Rurouni Kenshin, I think that she reminds me of Misao Makimachi. During the Kyoto Arc Misao was introduced. The author wanted to leave Kaoru Kamiya in the back ground. Misao looked like Kaoru but was way more aggressive. From what I’ve read and seen in this episode of Jyuusan Hime, she does martial arts so she can take care of herself. I loved Seiran’s role in the last episode as well as this one. Still being the protective big brother, his conversation and actions was more to wake Shuuei up! Shuuei seemed to be walk around in a daze or something. As for Ryuuki, I think he will end up with Jyuusan Hime as his wife. From episode 1 thru 29, Ryuuki has always expressed his undying love to Shuurei. But I think she made it clear in more than one episode that she respects him and wants to be underneath him, supporting him. Even Riou said that Shuurei will stay by his side supporting him but he shouldn’t consider her to be his wife. Shuurei has been given a chance that no other female at that time could have. To take the national exams, pass and become an official without having to sleep her way at the top. She has proven her worth (in Sa Province) and complete devotion to Ryuuki as emperor. As for falling in love with him, I think after he marries Jyuusan Hime, Shuurei will feel something for him, but it won’t be enough where she’ll think that she should have said yes and married him. Shuurei would not be content sitting around the palace having babies. I think in the end she will become a very important official (prime minster or something) that will loyally support Ryuuki and Seiran will remain by her side as her general. Seiran and Shuurei will either grow old together in their official positions or eventually marry. (I like the idea of them being married but I’m sure that won’t happen either)^_^ Ryuuki will probably do like his father and take concubines for himself, but I don’t think he will ever be happy. Jyuusan Hime will try, but it will definitely be messy with all the other concubines wanting his love and attention. So, I think like all the other romatic animes, the author gets your hopes up with the main characters and in the end they never resolve anything.

I think I am leanin towards Jyuusan Hime with Ryuuki, since she can protect him and knows about painful pasts, i mean i do love Ryuuki and Shuurei to be together but shuurei doesn’t seem to be interested after all that tryin by Ryuuki. I mean if somethin major does happen to turn that then by all I would be deeply happy but if Shuurei doesn’t find someone, I would wish to see her with someone poss Ryuren, he is so funny and so kind too, hehe wish the anime gone along with the major flow betw Ryuuki and Shuurei

@ gypsy-chan… the flow of the story can indeed be seen as parallel. misao was introduced, they became good friends. He married Tomoe to execute a mission. Tomoe died trying to protect him. In the manga, the blood spilling days finally disappeared and the final scene showed everyone having a picnic and that included kaoru, kenshin and their boy. In the anime, however, kenshin left and helped other people as their boy grows up. He returns every 2 years, finding his way in kaoru’s arms. Even in his final days, when he knew he was dying, the only person he has in his mind and his heart is Kaoru. She became his strength and his weakness.

Playing with parallelism, the promise Ryuuki asked Shuurei is almost the same with what Kenshin asked Kaoru. Remember in Reflections?… “Shinita. That is the name that I was given at birth. Promise me that the next time we meet, that is the only name that you would call me. Kenshin is a name I used only as the slasher and that is no longer the person that I am.”

If you would thrive on that analogy, Jyuusan Hime will eventually just be Ryuuki’s friend, He will marry some girl to fulfill his duty, the concubine eventually dies because of some armed battle, someone from the Hyou clan takes Shuurei as a prisoner, made it look that she died, he drives himself crazy in depression, Seiran, tries to pull him out of his $hithol3, falling for Jyuusan-Hime in the process (poor shuuei). They found Shuurei, made a deal with the Hyous then he ends up going back in Shuurei’s arms until they grow old together.

hahaha… well, all those things are merely guesses. only the author knows which way the story would really go next.

But if they won’t have season 3, it would most likely be decided in OAV’s. (shrugs and sighs)

@kagomilee- i think shuurei might be showing that little “something” that she is intrested in ryuuki, well maybe…… more like i wish but still its a wild guess right!!!

@Kaeboo- that is really something. i really would start crying if it happened like that, i mean ryuuki going crazy over shuurei being dead. it might stur somthing in her heart. and he would look so helpless crying for his love it would be so cute, but as i thought i make this sound like i’m really mean huh……. srry guys but if that happends it would definitely be drama!!!

Well. i think we all are looking foward to seeing the next episode.

    @ Mangaka-chan
I suppose the development of Shuuei & Shusui appears pretty sudden in the anime because the sly comments are so subtle they are easily missed. And they are rarely even seen together. But I can recall a few references to Shuuei always hanging around the harem. But that could easily be interpreted as him being a bit of a ladies man.

But in the Manga, Shuuei makes excuses to visit Shuurei in the harem and runs into Shushui every time. Shusui would scold him for treating the imperial harem as his personal brothel.

And in the novels, there are more references. I recall there was a conversation in which Ryuuki even asks Shusui what she thinks of Shuuei. I think she called him a squirming mosquito larvae! And in the recent Gaiden #3, a story (which supposedly happened in the past) Shouka’s helping Shusui — even Shouka thinks that Shusui and Shuuei argue like a married couple.

Anyway, my 2 fave couples are now
#1: Kourin x Eigetsu because they’re just so darn cute and sweet.
#2: Shusui x Shuuei because of the potential. He has pined for her since he saw her dance w/ the fan. She needs a man to help her break the Hyou clan curse! Plus they’re both so hot!
ShuureixRyuuki used to be my fave couple, but with so little tidbits to keep it going…. sigh

@aznchocoholic: Shuurei showing that she has feelings for Ryuuki? Hmmmm…more like wishful thinking on our part…..I highly doubt Shurrei has any romantic feelings remotely equal to Ryuuki’s feelings for her….*sigh* dummy, dummy, dummy! That last scene in the preview with Shuurei wearing Jyusan’s clothes sitting in the dark…Shuurei looks more nervous and uncomfortable than excited…..

@Kaeboo: A dead Shuurei…..hmmm…I think I like the sound of that XD

@Alida: Yeah…I like the Shuuei and Shusui pairing…..Shuuei is sooo dreamy XD I really like him….second to Ryuuki of course :D

@Impz, I agree that maybe they wouldn’t be ruthless to the extent they might kill one of their own.

But it does seem they are ruthless enough that they would cut Shuuei out of the family if he chose to support Ryuuki, and they are not above using Jyuusan Hime either.

But then again the same could be said of the Kou-clan since Kuro wants Shuurei to marry Kouyu.

Not all families are supporting in the way that Shuurei’s little family of Seiran and Shoka are, where they support by encouraging.

Some families ’support’ their members, by pushing them to extremes of excellence through strict measures. I think the Ran clan might be more of that type of family. Then again they might not considering Ryuuren’s nature.

@delphyne- i think you’re very right….. ya nd shuurei does look really nervous in the preview but i’m looking forward to the next ep.

@Alida- i think you are right too bcause the shuurei and ryuuki couple don’t really seem like a couple anymore. to me their relationship is just a mere boss and employee. nothing special, and if u look at ryuuki’s side its more of one-sided love. i really feel bad for the guy though.

Any ways ryuuki does look really depressed when he met jyuusan-hime but i think she is really pretty w/ the makeup and all. i think anybody would fall for her! but i think in the end ryuuki MIGHT, just might fall for her. but since we all know his love is so strong for shuurei but then there is a possibility. i mean shuurei hasn’t been paying any attention to him so i’m guessing the poor guy feel really lonely……..i feel so bad for ryuuki*crying*…plus the thing tat makes this worse is that ryuuki can be so cute at times and……….. omg this story is not going the way that i hoped it would but i hope in the end of the anime it will show a sign at least that shuurei nd ryuuki will be together, but we have to keep supporting this anime otherwise there won’t be any season 3 so. if there’s no season 3 then the story will have a cut ending and i don’t think any of us will be satisfied with that will we………..

@aznchocoholic: LOL, it’s so funny how we all feel so sorry for Ryuuki….honestly, is there anyone who watches Saimono who DOESN’T like Ryuuki??

I wouldn’t really say that Shuurei and Ryuuki have an employer-employee relationship…that would be too harsh, I think….I’d go with “close acquaintances” hehehe or maybe more “casual friends.”

You know what though, as much as I want and hope that Ryuuki and Jyusan will fall in love with each other and live happily ever after….I really don’t think Ryuuki is the kind of guy who would give up on Shuurei. I mean, he is very tenacious and stubborn when it comes to things in his life. True, he doesn’t actively pursue them, but he never gives up on them either. I don’t think Ryuuki will really ever love Jyusan the way he loves Shurrei…he might love Jyusan one way or another…but not like Shuurei. Or…I can see him choosing to live as a bachelor forever than marry someone who is not Shuurei. *Sigh*

On that note…I will end my post with my usual…”SHUUREI!!! YOU ARE SUCH A DUMMY! DUMMY! DUMMY!!!!!! XD

@delphyne- actually you are so right….. his very stobborn on these things, i mean he is really something. you could say he might not even be human because he waited for a woman who seems to constantly reject him everytime he proposes to and still kisses her and continues to say i love you and i would take no one else as my wife………
    (quote Shi Ryuuki)
u know every time he says these things to shuurei its soooo moving!!!!! i just wanna scream…. haha…

and yes on your last statement YES SHUUREI U BAKA BAKA BAKA!!!! hehe….

@aznchocoholic: I know!!! It makes Ryuuki look pathetic sometimes….which makes me hate Shuurei more LOL :D I think it’s also because he is getting mixed messages from people all around him too. There are those who tell him to keep fighting for his dream and not to give up…then there are those like Riou who tells him to grow up and don’t expect too much from Shuurei….I mean, come on, give Ryuuki a break!!! I want him to have a happy ending!!! with or without Shuurei!!!!

LOL that “Shuurei baka” reminds of Akane’s song for Ranma…”Baka no Ranma” LOL….just replace all of the “Ranma” with “Shuurei” XD

i think its a great story line to have jyuusan hime marry ryuuki. that doesnt mean there is no hope at all for ryuuki and shurrei. i hope they actually do get married , that will make the plot all that much juicier!!!

i kinda want them to show more shurrei and seiran moments. gotta love that guy.

@delphyne: i know it makes shuurei seem sooooooo much more……….*UGH* now i feel fustrated. but i like this kind of women like shuurei. u think of your job first but this is doing too much. i mean u’ve got to spare some love for a guy whos been waiting for you for the past 3 or 4 years of your life. i mean especially because he’s the emperor, if something goes wrong with his love life then its gonna scar him for life then the country wouldn’t prosper. and that would be shuurei’s falt wouldn’t it!*sigh* well its pretty sad, this kind of story…….. but i really can’t wait until the ep where reishin actually tells shuurei he’s her uncle!

    FINALLY WATCHED THIS
I really liked the part where Shuurei was talking to Riou, and I see Shusui’s embroidary has not improved at all.
I feel worried about this voice ringing in Shusui head… T_T

Sorry all for not replying at all. I seem to be suffering from a severe case of “anime burnout”. I didn’t even check the site for the past few days due to the fact that I was rather sickened by almost all anime that I have watched. It is really scary because I am still enjoying anime last week, and suddenly all my love for anime went completely down the drain. @_@

Anyway, this week’s episode, despite a rerun, discusses the love interest of Shuurei and the prospective partners. I am going to watch it and see what in the world is the episode about.

oh, big error. This week’s episode is VERY GOOD. It’s an interview with the seiyuu about Shuurei’s romance. Will blog about it once i am done!

Hmmm… from the comments on the ryuuki/shuurei relationship it seems that some are a little harsh on Shuurei. I think her coolness to Ryuuki’s passion is to be expected. Here’s what I’m thinking. Shuurei’s first real intimate experience was with Ryuuki, that is, getting her first kiss and being held intimately by a man. I’m sure Seiran, held her, pat her head or kissed her on the cheek before. But she most likely sees Seiran like a big brother so when he touches her it’s like being hugged or touched by her dad. And back to her first kiss with Ryuuki, it wasn’t like she was happy about it. She was shocked and disgusted by it. Being kissed in the open, in front of a crowd and in front of her father! What girl wants to have their first kiss in front of their father! But after the third and I believe fourth kiss, she seemed okay with it (mainly it was done in private, by their favorite sakura tree (hehe!)). Shuurei rushed into the palace situation thinking only of her family’s financial situation, but then later, after doing research she choose to kick the Emperor into shape politically. She told him she did not come to have babies, but to stay by his side and help him become a great emperor over their country.

For close to two season, Shuurei has kept her promise and helped make a good name for Ryuuki to the ones it really mattered (the poor people and the forgotten Sa clan). Even Riou said she would be the only one staying loyally by his side supporting Ryuuki. I think from Shuurei views Ryuuki as a close friend she can share her feelings with. Before she only had Seiran but over the two seasons, she has broaden her friendship.

Shuurei may be from a noble class but she has lived in poverty and know first hand what poor people need. She is a very kind, generous person who, like Seiran, always puts the needs of others before herself. She could take advantage of the situation and become Ryuuki’s wife for the love he would give her and enjoy all the material riches. Ryuuki knows this. But Shuurei is not like that. She is more of a people-person. She shares everything she has to help others. That’s why she makes a good official for the people. And that is how she continue to loyally support her friend and Emperor.

Will they ever get together? Who knows.

At this point, I think I’m sticking with the story to see how far politically Shuurei can go and also to see my fav hottie Seiran. I know those two will only be together as a family, (shouka, shuurei, seiran which I’m happy for seiran to have family who truly love him). I just hope he will always be by her side. One last comment, in the ending pictures, where they all stand on some kind of hill or mountain top over looking the country, I’m thinking there the author is giving us some kind of. Like Ryuuki, having become a good Emperor being surrounded by his dearest and loyal friends. And that Shuurei was the key to closing the gap of lonliness they all once shared (seiran/ryuuki and shuuei/kouyou).

Hmm……. you know. sometimes you can’t help but wonder when there’s gonna be another shuureixryuuki moment. i mean so far in the second season the only time he acctually kissed her was after the new year celebration and before shuurei left for Sa Province again and he only kissed her hand……..*crying* now right now i’m really crying about the small amount of romance in this anime right now in these last few eps. i mean they haven’t showed any scenes where ryuuki and shuurei are under the sakura tree where they just met anymore… well i think its gonna start up again because jyuusan-hime is here. but still SHUUREI AND RYUUKI 4EVER!!!!hehe….
