As we end with the conclusion of Shuurei’s time in the reserved official role, a new arc is on the way. Shuurei finally accepted a job role at the investigative department under Kouki. It is clear that her time there will be one of a growing up period, considering that her “nemesis” Seiga and the uncompromising Kouki will toughen her up. The news on the Ran clan’s 13th princess as the concubine of Ryuuki is also a huge event, as everyone starts to talk about a conspiracy to assassinate the Ran’s clan princess before she can assume her marriage to Ryuuki.

This episode starts off exciting, and I am sure many will be curious about the 13th princess!

Episode summary

saimono28-1.jpg

A lady with the bracers of the Ran clan rode her horse in a forest. She was waylaid by bandits. Ensei then appeared to save the girl (a bit shocked that she resembled Shuurei). The lady thanked him and rode away to leave Ensei to fend for himself. At the Kou residence, Shouka and Seiran were looking at Shuurei venting her anger of Seiga on the dough. Seiran asked if it was wise to leave her alone as she might go crazy with the way she’s “attacking” the food but Shouka said she simply needed to vent some anger and was impressed by the “influence of Seiga”. If she was not angry, it meant that she had conceded defeat. Eventually, Shuurei calmed down and smiled.

An officer named Mou informed Kouki about various plans by assassin guilds to assassinate the princess from Ran clan. He wished to get Kouki’s help to prevent this. Shuuei was thinking about his past at the Ran clan, with a girl and his three elder brothers. He seemed to look wistful over the memory, and walked out to see Shusui making a dance symbolizing unrequited love. Shusui realized someone was looking at her dance as she threw the fan, only to realize it was Shuuei. Shuuei’s tears were falling uncontrollably as sad memories were triggered. Shusui then noticed that his sleeve was cut.

In Shusui’s room, Shuuei started to mumble that he did everything to love “her”. However, when he saw how she was happy with his three brothers, he felt bitter inside. Shusui said he was brought up in a very happy environment and Shuuei took happiness for granted. Shusui added it was better for a loved one to be happy rather than sad. She would gratefully accept this, even though Shuuei disagreed. That was why he escaped from the Ran clan, and she said it was up to each person to decide. After Shuuei left, Shusui was struggling to suicide as she kept hearing a sound in her mind. Ryuuki’s voice outside the room stopped her from doing so, but the shock for Shusui appeared when she saw Young Riou beside Ryuuki.

An amber blue shone from Riou’s eyes, as Shusui’s fears continued to grow as she felt that she was being swallowed from within. At the investigative department, Shuurei prepared lunch as Suou Shin looked over the food. Shuurei told him that lunch was still far. Seiga took a bite. He said that it was done while thinking of him as it was clear that there was a spy looking at her every movement. Seiga told Shuurei that Kouki wanted to meet them, and encouraged her to investigate on him too if she wanted. Suou Shin said the quarrel between the sexes was extremely scary. In spite, Shuurei called for an early lunch.

As they ate, Anchou came over and said that it was the only place to spend some alone time with a female in the palace. Shuurei said Suou Shin was here and Anchou said Suou Shin was the only blemish. Shuurei asked about Seiga, and Anchou said Seiga was the illegitimate child of Kouki. Shuurei was shocked before Anchou said it was a joke as he reminded her that he often lies. Shuurei kept asking about Seiga, and Anchou was sad that he was neglected. Shuurei said Anchou was very popular, and Anchou was interested to know. Shuurei asked for an exchange of information as Anchou agreed. Shuurei asked if the people supporting Ryuuki was increasing or decreasing, and Anchou said decreasing because Kouyuu and Shuuei were distant, and it was rumored that Youshun’s appointment caused the drift.

saimono28-2.jpg

Anchou asked about his popularity, and she said he was the only client that Kochou could not get any information on. Anchou remembered about meeting the young Shuurei. As he left, Anchou suddenly said that she had to be stronger to protect the king. As Shuurei and Seiga met Kouki in his office, he warned them to run away from Anchou and do not accept anything he gave. Shuurei said she ate the peach he fed her, and Kouki told Shuurei to ignore his warnings. Seiga questioned why he was not given the sole responsibility for the mission. Kouki explained as he gave instructions to Shuurei to masquerade as the Ran 13th princess, and if must be, die for her. As Shuurei exited the room, she wondered what Ryuuki would think about her being a substitute.

Kouyuu wondered about the giving of the 13th princess as a concubine, and he could not get away with the amount of work. It was clear that the Kou (Reishin) and Ran (the three brothers) clan were trying to keep Kouyuu and Shuuei away from the emperor. At the archives, Ryuuki found Riou for advice. Ryuuki asked what would happen if he rejected the marriage offer, and Riou said that it would cause huge disputes among the officials for brushing aside a proposal from a major noble clan. Ryuuki wanted to keep a monogamy. Riou said he did not understand about love, and said that Shuurei would do anything for him. Even if everyone forsake him, she would still be by his side to fight for him. Ryuuki should be happy about this.Riou warned him that being too dependent on Shuurei would cause even a strong willed girl like Shuurei to crumble.

As Riou stepped out, Youshun warned him that he was way too harsh even if it was the truth. Riou warned him that there would be death if Youshun acted so slow. Youshun said people had to die, and it was only when. That comment left Riou surprised. Shuurei and Suou Shin were traveling on a horse carriage as there was a thief. Shuurei stepped down to stop him, only for the 13th princess to knock the thief out. The 13th princess rummaged through the thief’s belongings to find some cash as Shuurei approached her. The 13th princess realized that it was Shuurei, and she tried to explain to Shuurei that she was not rummaging to steal the thief’s coins.

As the 13th princess tried to run with the cash, Shuurei held onto the pouch. Shuuei was not wearing the flower with the sword as he stepped out, only to meet Seiran. Seiran warned him to either leave or protect the king, instead of this haphazard behavior in which he would not protect the emperor if Ryuuki was in trouble. Seiran knew Ryuuki told Shuuei could choose Ran, but warned Shuuei that he was not as naive as Ryuuki. Seiran told him to leave completely back to the Ran clan, and leave his flower behind. A voice spoke out telling Seiran not to bully his brother. The 13th princess finally arrived to the palace.

Thoughts

saimono28-3.jpg

We finally have some interesting conversation between Shusui and Shuuei, even though it is more of a serious talk rather than something amusing or flirting. Nevertheless, the flashback really fleshed out the character of Shuuei, as I start to wonder who the female blond is. Maybe I am slow or something, but there has been absolutely no mention of this woman in any of the previous episodes. Nevertheless, it is clear that it is perhaps the anger that he is not able to do anything to have his love requited. However, it feels somewhat naive, silly and ridiculous to escape if it is for that reason.

For a very smart person, Shuuei is definitely not acting very smart right now. I do hope that the truth is somewhat distorted from what he says, because I am very disappointed if it is because of love that he leaves the family. He should have a bit more maturity than that, and face up to the truth. There’s always other flowers in the garden other than the one you really want. Nevertheless, it is good that this opportunity arises so that we can see a different side of Shusui.

It’s a huge wonder why Shusui is hearing voices and sounds. In the anime itself, she seems to be hearing the sound of a bell, and I did not explain it elaborately in the summary. However, she is on the verge of killing herself by disemboweling her stomach using the scissors. If it is not for Ryuuki’s call for her outside her room, Shusui would have been dead. It is also clear that it is not the first time that she is trying to kill herself. What is this voice that continues to haunt her? It must clearly point to the Hyou clan, as she completely freaked out when she saw Riou.

I also like how Seiran challenged Shuuei in his indecisive behavior. It is very true that he is binded by the Ran clan in order to prevent Shuuei from helping Ryuuki. Nevertheless, the very fact that he is being haphazard is doing nothing good, as it is clear that Kouyuu is stopped by Reishin by the mere volume of work Kouyuu is bestowed. This clearly does not bode well for Ryuuki as he becomes more isolated from his aides. I wonder if Youshun’s words that he might be killed if he deliberates too long is a foreboding to come. I hope not.

Lastly, I do not want to go on a few paragraphs about the 13th princess. Let me just say this: she rocks and I already love her.

The end. Tell me your thoughts if you watched it, or you simply want to throw evil novel spoilers here (Ya, i cannot resist to make a dig sometimes, forgive this evil Impz).

Check out my last comment I made for “Saiunkoku Monogatari II Episode 27 - “Just a recap”. Spoilers are there especially among the last paragraphs. If unsure about my ramblings, check out http://yuzutea.net/log/tag/saiunkoku/ then. What is to come are all there, up to date :P

Now, about that blond girl Impz’s wondering: “…there has been absolutely no mention of this woman in any of the previous episodes. Nevertheless, it is clear that it is perhaps the anger that he is not able to do anything to have his love requited. However, it feels somewhat naive, silly and ridiculous to escape if it is for that reason.”

Looks like the blond girl is someone he loved very much in the past, only that the girl is married to one of his three elder brothers! It’s difficult to be under same roof with someone you love but is married to your brother instead :O

Gawd, I hope Yukino Sai comes up with the novel soon! I’m DYING to know more where our beloved characters and the story is all heading %O

hmm i wonder if its not possible for shuurei and ryuuki to get together…sigh I really do hope they can because they both love each other alot but its tough as circumstances differ but I really hope so or if it really cannot maybe each find someone they really love but of course my first choice is them two ^v^

o does anyone know where you can download the episodes, i know of this site but it doesn’t have the recent ones, only up to 22

Peggy added these pithy words on Nov 25 07 at 5:16 pm

I believe that blond girl in Shuuei’s past is actually Ran Setsuna’s wife, Gyokuka (spell?). Shuuei ran off to Kiyou several years ago to escape his love marrying his eldest brother. [This led up to him meeting Shusui in the palace.]

Shuuei’s “haphazardness” is because he’s trying to work out his loyaties between Ryuuki or the Ran clan. I hope they animate the parts where this gets resolved….before Season 2 closes… Cuz I don’t want to wait until they decide if there will be a Season 3 or not!

As for Shusui. I feel sorry for her as the Hyou clan is pretty ruthless in using their clan members. In the end, I hope the author creates a happy ending for her … with Shuuei I hope! After all, Eiki and Shunki were able to escape the Hyou clan’s clutches. Although, I blush at the method implied by the author in Gaiden #2. Again, I think Shuuei the best man for the job! X___X;

Alida added these pithy words on Nov 25 07 at 5:54 pm

You gotta love Jyusan-hime! She’s too cool!

I think I’ll be disappointed if a ShuureixRyuuki pairing doesn’t happen since it’s pretty much implied since the 1st episode of Season 1. But Ryuuki cannot wait around forever for Shuurei to make up her mind! And a JyusanxRyuuki pairing is becoming more acceptable. Doncha think?

Alida added these pithy words on Nov 25 07 at 6:05 pm

Gah! the paces are still too slow! this one, however, seems to be doing a little nicely trying to introduce the troubles of the new arc. i just hope they get to cram enough data before season 2 closes.

jyuusan-hime rocks! she has what it gets to be both a princess and a warrior.

it is still a big question whether ryuuki would choose her over shuurei, but this episode has already started the new challenge in which the ryuuki/shuurei pairing would face.

poor shuuei. the scene where he opened up to shuusui is one step to facing his ghosts in the past. that little blond girl is the wife of the eldest of the triplets whom he also tried to woo. he may be very smart, but some people say those who are totally smart are also totally idiotic when it comes to matters of the heart.

kiyou is protected from all supernatural forces that surround sainkoku and even the hyou clan who are there would find it more difficult to exercise their powers because of that protection.

just as shunki and enki has powers, shuusui also has hers and i may say that it is strong enough because she can somehow get into a trance and “listen” to whatever goes on around, up to i don’t know how many miles in radius. the hyou clan is controlling her to do something, in which i am not really clear of. sometimes, her trance would last so long that it would drain her of all energy and this happens without her totally being conscious of what is happening to her.

thanks for the episode summary, by the way, impzie. :)

I hear/see/read “13″ and I come rushing and then I find out it’s another girl…

ThirteenSugars added these pithy words on Nov 25 07 at 11:27 pm

The anime tried to cram too much novel in one episode and butchered out some important tidbits.

The blonde chic is One of the Ran Triplet’s wife. A young adolescent Shuuei fell in love with her (I guess she’s his first love). She was apparently kind towards him and he took a great liking to her etc. Ironically she was originally supposed to have married Shuuei’s father (she’s of course way younger than the father) but The triplets weren’t happy about it and later somehow she and one of the triplet fell in love and married x_x

btw I agree the Ran princess is pretty :D and a likeable character so far.
As for Ryuuki I think he’ll be thrilled of having Shuurei play his concubine (like old days :D)

Indeed but she’d have to be willing to sleep with Shuuei to get the Hiou’s clan off her back :D

Lad_kou added these pithy words on Nov 26 07 at 12:58 am

I think with Shusui hearing the voices in her head and attempting to kill herself. She must be carrying the reincarnation of the Bara Hime (all the reason maybe as to why she’s trying to kill herself). In the beginning of the Saimono op, we see the brown haired girl with the hair ornament with the pink roses and near the ending with see Shouka and Shusui with a mysterious lady with silver hair next to her side. However, I’m still confused though. In the first season. Shurei’s mother lost her powers and it has been passed down to her daughter and Riou has come to claim her. Shouldn’t he claim Shusui instead or is it a different case though?

Well, more will be revealed in the next few episodes of Saimono.

Thank you so much for sharing this Impz. I just can’t stand it when I don’t understand what the heck is going on XDD

sa sakujun added these pithy words on Nov 26 07 at 1:23 am

I can tell you right now Shusui is not carrying the spirit of Bara-hime. She has a different connection to the Hyou clan.

And yes, Juusan-hime is pretty cool. But just wait until you hear her backstory. TRAGIC.

I try to have a little sympathy for Shuuei, as he was pretty young (under 20) when he escaped the Ran clan and came to the capital. Of course it’s probably been nigh-on ten years since then, so one would hope he’s matured a little.

Like everyone said, Gyokuka (the blonde) is the wife of the eldest of the triplets. I’m not sure if it’s because we only saw her in the fuzzy flashback, but in the novels she’s described as not super-beautiful (she’s got freckles) but is very very nice, hence Shuuei fell for her.

L-chan added these pithy words on Nov 26 07 at 5:23 am

13th princess looks pretty much like shuurei, only with bigger front bumpers ehehe. :D The books also say they have the same age.

KaeBoo added these pithy words on Nov 26 07 at 6:05 am

i think the reason why the 13th princess looks like Shuurei is because the author is trying to wean away Ryuuki from Shuurei (Haha, wean is such a wrong word. But Ryuuki can act like a baby sometimes. haha) *note she’s TRYING. hahaha complicate things further why don’t you! *pouts at author*. I did say there’s a male:female imbalance… but…but. it doesn’t change things. They’re all still stuck in a criss crossing love polygon. and there’s politics involved too. Tsk tsk.

I think the other people said enough about Shusui. I am also hoping that Shuuei would finally get a chance to be a knight in shining armor now that Shusui seems to be in trouble!

Thanks for the summary Impz.

^yeah i agree. Shurei and Jyusan-hime does look alike except shes blond…and more fun? maybe…

I actually like that the show is starting to be more interesting again. I love the Shusui and Shuuei pairing and Seiran’s character development. I quite agree he’s not as innocent as Ryuuki, he can be totally badass when it needs to and get away with it…and yeah im marrying him. haha.

I wish, I wish its gonna be Shurei and Ryuuki in the end really. Coz it doesnt feel right if this 2 character ends up with other people. That would really suck.

I been reading this blog for saiunkoku, I just wanna commend impz for doing this stuff for the saiunkoku fans. U rock mate!

Regardless of what people say about the new character, Jyusan-hime is pretty cool. But if it end up Ryuuki paired with Jyusan hime.. I would really hate the story..heheh well, its just that the long wait and the efforts been all wasted by the childking (ryuuki)if ever. The author been doing this on purpose, to add some spice into it. Since, guys been so liking Shurei always.. and the poor childking(ryuuki) is always thinking about her. I hope the story will be more romantic for the two.

This anime enchanted me so much..since Its not like an ordinary anime that usually we watch everyday.. We all want to know the end of the story..but yes, i think we should hope and wait for the good outcome…Once again, thanks to our mate Impz..

So am I the only one who wants Ryuuki to get together with Jyusan-hime? I know Jyusan has her own love story, but wouldn’t it be nice if she and Ryuuki fell in love with each other leaving Shuurei regretting her stupidity??!?? I find her sooooo annoying!!

Hmmm….I guess it’s just me, huh? LOL :)

Its very heartwarming that Seiran is showing brotherly concern to the point of pointing his sword at Shuuei. And I agree that I hope Ryukki and Shurrei wind up together. Their paths have veered on different directions for about 2 years now and its makes you want to shake Shuurei for being a semi idiot about the whole love thing. As for Shusui, I’d prefer she wind up with Shouka-sama since she adores him already.

This is quite frustrating indeed coz we all want the characters to have happy ending but hey there are not enough girls. I still root for Shuurei and Ryukki to wind up together.

eskk added these pithy words on Nov 27 07 at 11:07 am

@ Impz: According to the age chart in the Season 1 Art Book, Shusui is about 1 year older than Shuuei.

I’m rooting for Shusui x Shuuei pairing! They’ll make a purty couple!
After all, Shuuei’s been pining for her for at least several years. Shouka is so lovesick for his wife and seems to treat Shusui more like a daughter than a potential lover…. Just my 2-cents!

Alida added these pithy words on Nov 27 07 at 5:04 pm

Shuusui x Shuuei… they would make a nice couple. heeheehee :D but I just think Shuuei is such a loser when it comes to heart matters, I really don’t know if he would even get himself a chance to get to woo Shuusui enough to be able to get to her right.

By the way, what’s with Anju and peaches? Even the novels (summaries) didn’t really elaborate on this thing, anybody has any idea? all i know is that even kouki said his life has been more enjoyable because of anju.

Another thing… Seiga and Shuurei… since they have this adversarial relationship, do you think it would remain that way or would it lead to something more romantic? :D (i know i’d possibly get creamed for this! hahaha)

KaeBoo added these pithy words on Nov 27 07 at 6:06 pm

@Kaeboo: Yes, I was thinking about SeigaxShuurei LOL…They deserve each other!

If Ryuuki does end up with Shuurei…it will probably be Jyusan-hime and Seiran….

Personally, I want Shuuei and Shusui to end up together….Shuuei is just so dreamy….LOL He deserves to be happy too! :)

delphyne added these pithy words on Nov 27 07 at 7:15 pm

yess i totally agree w/delphyne but iam for Ryuuki and Shuurei, yea shuuei does deserve to be happy and seiran would be a good match for Jyusan hime since she knows how to fight and stuff

Peggy added these pithy words on Nov 28 07 at 1:12 pm

But aren’t Jyusan-hime and shuuei cousins or something. i mean she calls him “older brother”. I think it would be awkward. I do hope that the ryuukixshuurei pair will end up together. and for shuurei’s job i don’t really get it. does she hav to impersonate being the consort again???? i’m confused. well any ways if ryuuki finds out then i bet you he would be thrilled!!! but the ryuuki and shuurei’s relationship, looks to me as if its fading away. but another thing is that i hope that shuurei will show just a little bit of jelousy for ryuuki and jyusan-hime. i mean just a little bit would make some of us super happy i think! and by the end of this season i hope that shuurei will finally pay a little more attention to ryuuki and for season 3 they focus on problems they would face in their relationship. but any ways all i wanna say is RYUUKI DON’T FALL FOR JYUSAN-HIME, SHE’S NOT SHUUREI!!!( but i still love jyusan-hime, especially her playful and happy attitude!)

aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Nov 28 07 at 8:28 pm

another thing. in the begining of the episode it shows jyuusan-hime being surrounded be bandits, then ensei appears. does that mean that ensei is in Kiyou(i might hav spelled that wrong).?????

aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Nov 28 07 at 8:30 pm

@aznchocoholic: Jyusan and Shuuei are half-siblings. I don’t think there will be a season 3…it doesn’t look it anyway…

And you’re right…I know it’s asking too much if Shuurei suddenly fell in love with Ryuuki, but I want her to AT LEAST show some kind of emotion when it comes to Ryuuki…or be a little jealous of Jysuan-hime. I will be happy if this anime ends with Shuurei at least admitting to herself (or to other people, especially Ryuuki) that she loves Ryuuki…come on, is that too much to ask for?!?!?! Shuurei dummy! dummy! dummy!

(secretly hopes it will be too late by the time Shuurei realizes she does have feelings for Ryuuki bwahahaha (evil Seiran laugh) XD

You know, I always realize one thing about Saiunkoku. They tend to make people look really old (like Shusui) when they are perhaps around their early or late 20s. It’s quite amusing at times that you seem to have an issue trying to figure out a decent age range for the character.

Nevertheless, this post has conjured up a lot of discussion between Jyuusen Hime and Shuurei, as well as the romance between them and Ryuuki. I really want to see more of Jyuusen hime before supporting a camp, but i am tending toward the hime already.

Subs are a tad slow with this series, but they are always working. So wait for it. Cheers!

Unfortunately, the anime has almost caught up completely with the novels. The storyline introducing Juusan-Hime is the third book before the end. The last novel is another collection of side stories, so it’s hard to say where the storyline is headed (I wonder if Sai Yukino even knows sometimes!).

I suspect that Anju and peaches are a sort of pun because I believe that one of the characters in his first name can be peach tree or a sort of peach.

Oh, and Gyokuka isn’t married to the oldest of the triplets…in a sense, she’s married to all three of them.o_O The former head of the Ran clan (Shuuei and the triplet’s father)told his triplet sons that he didn’t need three heirs to fight over the position when he died, so they should go out into the woods and decide who would become the next clan head. Then the other two would kill themselves (nice dad, huh?). The three decided that they would collectively become “Ran Setsuna”. Their father agreed to the compromise on the condition that if anyone could tell the three apart, two of them would die. Geez, these family relations are screwed up!

Yay! Impz is seeing the potential of Jyusan-hime with Ryuuki!

I know the initial reaction for most people is that we shouldn’t move away from ShuureixRyuuki pairing. But after following the novel — reading about Jyusan-hime’s past (which in some ways are more tragic than Shuurei’s), I feel that the author is setting it up for Shuurei to forever be Ryuuki’s unwavering pillar of support with Jyusan potentially being his wife.

I’m preferring Jyusan over Shuurei because Shuurei is turning out to be disappointingly one-track-minded on just work. And not very thorough about that either IMHO. But I won’t get into how slack she is on understanding the inner-workings of politics. She’s a little too idealistic. Jyusan is just so much more in touch with reality and human emotions, especially romance.

I just hope they animate Jyusan’s entire backstory. Then maybe more people will like her better. She’s really a deep, strong person. And she’s had to fend for herself her entire life unlike Shuurei who’s had Shouka, Seiran & Ensei around her. Shuurei at least had a loving family support system. But I won’t go any further into Spoiler territory!

Is episode 28 the last in the 2nd season? Will there be a third season?

@kourika… i have read about that, too, but all the while i thought she’s married to only one of them. (does that mean that she also sleeps with all three of them and she does not even know? O_o)

@alida… i had that same notion, shuurei does have a one-track mind and she could get really stupid sometimes. her being the pillar of strength to ryuuki would be a big possibility, i just hope that the author does not end it there, neither would the anime (prays), leaving the fans to decide a hanging ending, which i really hate so much in most of the animes that i have really liked.

Reply: No, there are 39 Episodes in Season 2, so let’s wait together and see how the season ends, shall we? I’ll get ready the streamers, pillows, and snacks for the finale, and maybe some guns and swords if the ending turns out to be #$%$&^% *bleah* :P

Honestly speaking, I wish they’ll have Season 3 so that we don’t have vague stories with abrupt endings leaving us in a limbo. I definitely don’t want that with Saiunkoku of all animes :O

Reply: Try ‘Fushigi Yugi’. Series is completed about a couple of years ago. Fans reviewed that Saiunkoku and Fushigi are similiar with each other. Similiar in place setting (ancient China) and lots of bishonens (beautiful boys in Japanese). Story-wise, not the same as Fushigi contains more magical fantasy elements and less political like Saiunkoku.

@Alida: I agree!! Ryuuki X Jyusan-hime!!! I can’t say that enough. I haven’t seen the latest episode nor have I read the recent summaries but I like Jyusan-hime more than Shuurei already!

But then you know…if you think about it….it will make the whole story kinda pointless if Ryuuki ended up with Jyusan-hime, don’t you think? I mean, why did they go to all the trouble of the whole first arc with Ryuuki meeting Shuurei, falling in love…etc….if they are only gonna have Ryuuki end up with someone other than Shuurei? (Why am I saying “they?” - I mean, the author, which is a “she” actually :))

ANyway…as much as I would like for SHuurei not to have a happy ending with Ryuuki….I think that they actually will ‘get together’ eventually…..gggrrrrr!!!!

@T November, @SEAMaiden: Yeah, Fuushigi Yuugi….i was just gonna say that…AND the japanese voice actor for Seiran and Tamahome are the same guy LOL!

Impz added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 7:07 am

I agree that Jyuusan-hime is cool, but it just really pains me to remember that instead of Shuurei getting chosen, Jyuusan-hime is going to be Ryuuki’s wife in the future. I pity the relationship between Shuurei and Ryuuki. One is a person who’d rather follow her dreams and set aside love, even though she has feelings for him. Another is a king who must abide by the ‘rules’. There’s nothing that hurts more than being in love with someone you can never have. Just thinking about Jyuusan-hime ’stealing’ Shuurei’s ‘public’ position is just ew. I’m trying my best to, but I seriously just can’t like Jyuusan-hime that much. She might have had a tragic past, but still… *sigh*

Tiff added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 9:07 am

@ Tiff- I agree with you about Jyusan-hime. and it is true about Ryuuki’s duty as an emperor also about the fact of all those ryuuki and shuurei moments would be wasted if there was the jusan-himexryuuki pairing. but do you think there would be a chancet that Seiran would become emperor and ryuuki a prince, then he would be free to marry anyone. but then i would feel bad for seiran because he has been so good to shuurei. i think he should have a decent romantic relationship! i mean seiran is my most fav character below kouyuu. i mean you hav got to love kouyuu! he adds a little comedy to the story! but we haven’t seen or heard about reishin lately! i miss him too, the overly protective uncle!!! HAHA……. theres a rumor going around saying in the end seiran and ryuuki will both be the emperors and shuurei will be their consort. you’d wonder which one she would really be with in the end. but i don’t think seiran thinks of romantic thing of shuurei because he’s like her assistant, servant, or just an older brother! who knows!!!! and don’t you feel like the ryuuki and shuurei are moving farther and farther away from eachother. their love isn’t as strong as the begining of the series. i’d hate to admit it but i think their true relationship will soon be nothing more than friends or like the boss and his employee. but since i saw ep 29 already the preview to ep 30 looking at shuurei makes me wanna cry/scream!!! SHE LOOKS SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD IN BLUE, IT MATCHES HER HAIR AND IT EMPHESIZES HER EYES!!!! I LOVE IT. jyusan-hime looks nice with make up. actually both of them look great!!!!!!! its too good for words!

aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 10:04 am

yea i mean all the previous about Shuurei and ryuuki deeply in love and then if the ending is not them together, it’ll be too sad…i mean jyusan-hime would also be good with Seiran and she doesn’t have as deep as a relationship as Shuurei and Ryuuki……hopefully somethin really major happens and finally we can see Shuurei and Ryuuki together

Peggy added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 10:45 am

@Tiff: I don’t think Jyusan-hime is ’stealing’ Shuurei’s position as Ryuuki’s (future) empress….Remember that Shuurei DOESN’T want to be Ryuuki’s wife….she DOESN’T want anything except to be a good government official. So, in effect, Jyusan isn’t really replacing anybody. Just like Shuurei feels it is her duty to follow her dreams and be a good gov’t official and Ryuuki knows it is his duty to rule the country, Jyusan probably feels it is her duty to support the emperor in the best way she knows how…which is to be his royal consort.

@aznchocoholic: Ryuuki and Seien both emperors?!?!?! WOW….where can I apply as a royal consort???? LOL XD

delphyne added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 5:58 pm

@delphyne. haha…. ya but about tiff’s comment i mean we all want shuurei and ryuuki to be together in the end don’t we???

Hey guys Jyuusan Hime has her own ONE TRUE LOVE and it ain’t seiran or ryuuki *give the girl a break* :P
you’ll see who I’m talking about in the next few episodes.
umm actually that person has already been introduced *hint hint*

kou shuurei added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 9:29 pm

@aznchocoholic: Yeah…it’s Shuurei who doesn’t want a happy ending…LOL. Dummy! XD

delphyne added these pithy words on Dec 02 07 at 11:39 pm

Unfortunately I’ve already read the novel summaries on another blog until the most recent one. So that means I know that Jyuusan-hime already has someone she loves, or rather used to love. I’m also well aware that it isn’t Shuurei’s real wish to become empress. I’m only saying that having Jyuusan-hime officially placed in the Inner Palace to become a consort instead of Shuurei is just…heartbreaking.
My point is, the RyuukixShuurei relationship is in more danger with the arrival of a REAL consort. I strongly wish for Shuurei to become Ryuuki’s offical wife, and that’s in danger because with Jyuusan-hime, Shuurei will never get the chance again if she wants it in the future. Without Jyuusan-hime, Shuurei has all the time in the world to decide, although Ryuuki doesn’t…
The word “WIFE” has more impact than the word “LOVER”.
Stupid marriage officials -_- It sucks to be king sometimes.
In any case, I’m hoping that the anime will strongly show that Jyuusan-hime is ONLY a plain friend to Ryuuki. That would at least make me feel better, because it would seem as if they both seriously can’t love each other and that they’re only marrying each other because of pressure from the government. Its a job, not love nor feelings.

I totally agree with tiff - I don’t like the pairing of 13th princess and Ryuuki. She may be cool and all that, but I’m still going to stay loyal to Ryuuki and Shuurei pairing.

YEp we’re all gonna keep lovin the shuureixryuuki pair…..and jyuusan hime really had a sad love life before she came to the shi province!

aznchocoholic added these pithy words on Dec 09 07 at 7:42 am

I’m wondering if the reason why Seiran seemed pissed at Shuuei in ep 19 when there seemed to be some animosity between the two before going to Kouchou’s was because Seiran knew that this would happen. Shuuei already had doubts about being able to stay by Ryuuki’s side because of his family. What Seiran says to him here made perfect sense to me why he looked so mad at Shuuei. It only took about 10 ep to answer the question of why the animosity between the two.
